The scanner is pretty useful you can fast travel with it pull it out and look at a white icon you have been to and you can fast travel directly no need to open map also when in space if you hover ur cross hair over the destination icon you can fast travel right there both these help reduce loading screens

I keep all my resources in the unlimited storage box in the Lodge basement across from the weapons workbench. Then I press RB to take all resources at once. Now I have all my resources on me and can go to whichever work bench I want

That is the one thing I don’t understand a space suit is supposed to prevent u from from freezing and also supposed to protect you from any air born toxins they supposedly sealed but in starfield you get breathing damage when a space suit is air tight and your breathing your own air and you get cold damage when a space suit has a heating and cooling built into the one damaged I expected to receive would radiation damage expected but not the other ones k

Pretty good list here’s a few corrections:
– Traders reset their inventory after 48 hous in UNIVERSAL time, not local time.
– You can interact and exchange inventory with your ships’ cargohold when closer than 250 meter away not 200.

A little bonus tip: when renaming your favorite weapons if you add “- ” in front of the name it will show at the top of your inventory list making accidentally selling your favorite gear a lot less likely.

You reset vendors by waiting through two UTC midnights. So 11PM Tuesday to 1AM Thursday UTC will reset vendors.

Also, i recommend starting this game on very hard. I did, on accident. I dont even know how, i think i watched a youtube vid about how you can enter a room at very hard, switch to easy and get the loot easy, and i think i simply forgot to switch back to very hard. Before yall say anything, no the first few enemies are no difference in difficulty easy or very hard, so i assumed i was on easy. It didnt occur to me i was playing on verh hard until i beat that mission, noticed how fun it was like it took actual strategy and i thought like “wow bethesda legit put thought into this i wouldnt survive at all if i was playing on very hard, like Halo Legendary!”. Nope, beat the level, went to switch from easy to normal or hard just to see if i could do better than easy, and boom: noticed i played the entire mission on very hard.
And god did i not regret that. Ive been playing on very hard ever since. Reached level 21, i noticed too that most people dont worry about lung damage and walking around in °-246 weather, cuz whenever I do that i will get lung damage or frostbite so easily just by walking around. I was like HOW ARE YALL LOW LEVEL AND WALKING AROUND SAFELY ON THAT DESOLATE MOON?! ARE YOU PLAYING NG+?!? Nope. They playing on easy or nomal. Where the environment just tickles you. Lol. Ugghhh. I recommend playing on very hard, bro. Its like legit a blast. You HAVE to strategize your space battles, your gun battles, freaking things like hunting cagebrains are just as terrifying as terrormorphs if not just a bit more. The likelihood of finding a cool weapon is higher, not even for just the end crate you find but also for random enemies you slaughter. And YES i know, i know i know. I know i know that when you reach a moon with NO life and you find a cave, there should be no life in there. Buttttttttt given the nature of playing on very hard, and every sound you hear in a cave COULD be some terrifying fear inducing 18 legged god of death roach just waiting for its next explorer to walk into their very own dinner-and a-show plate. Eeeek, just the thought alone gives me chills

I know they say terrormorphs are awful, but I cannot imagine a world where an army of Hunting Grobhands or Hunting Braincages attacking a colony wouldn’t be just as bad as a terrormorph lol

Im going to stop you right there because as soon as you pick up a item in a shop even if you didnt pocket it and your only moving it.
You immediately get a fine because the npc thinks your stealing it regardless so yeah no, you cant just pick an item up and move it out of the way to steal it.

Contraband is actually a waste of time until you level up commerce but even then it still doesn’t give any vendor enough money to buy most of the loot and contraband I bring to them

When you’re just starting out don’t automatically sell stolen ships. They often have reactors, engines and shields that are better than anything you can buy for quite a few levels. An Ecliptic Bayonet seems to be particularly good for this.

When building ships or want to pay for one part (including weapons) you just need to right click the part or position then move mouse over the similar one and you select what you want from menu and then boom you’ve got 2 of them.

easiest way to earn money without build outpost for me is just
accept bounty for pirate-> kill all other weak ship, other than the 1 strongest -> use EMP weapon to disable the strongest ship -> dock the ship
kill the captain (u get money from clearing mission for bounty)
1. u get money from loot cargo ship and captain cargo
2. usually there’s a illegal conterbadn (1-3), go to Den to sell it
3. sell the ship (or register it first then sell it, i have mod that make register ship only took 20% of ship price, its ridiculous to register ship for 80-90% its price)
4. u get money from clearing the bounty

There are quite a lot of features that are convenient but not intuitive. Making the learning very steep.

As far as the “cut to open” doors you can use ANY weapon even melee weapons to cut the pins.

300 hours and still doesn’t know superior weapons don’t exist. Only superior armor with advanced being the highest for weapons.

Outpost tip. You can actually semi-automate all production. There are 6 main resources used in building solars, extractors and storage. Al, Fe, Cu, Be, W, Ag. Find a planet with He3, and for example Al. Inhabited planet is also a nice bonus to farm mobs loot without cargo links. After that:

1. Build main outpost with all the production and five cargo links for essential resources (Fe, Cu, Be, W, Ag for our example).
2. Build the sixth interstellar cargo link and fuel it. You only need fuel at one of two connected interstellar cargo links.
3. While 5 other cargo links deliver essential resources autonomously, switch the interstellar sixth one for needed resource at current time.

Cargo links are easily bugged. In order this swithching to work you must switch cargo link ONLY when there are green lights and not yellow (there is no ship comingleaving).
Order is:
1. Activate cargo link terminal.
2. Remove link.
3. Exit cargo link terminal. Lights should turn red.
4.Activate cargo link terminal.
5. Choose needed link.

I experimented and checked that doing changing links anyways besides that order breaks them. If you’ve managed to switch simplier correct me.

dude, star fields been out, what 16 days, not even 3 weeks….this is the type of thing you say when a games been out for months or years and didn’t know, for obvious reasons. Whats next, you gonna put out a video about how you wish you knew something sooner on day 1 of release, in the beta tests? Again a video saying I wish I knew sooner isn’t applicable when the games not even a month old……….I seen one person play it and one person break it. It doesn’t look like it has anything for me except its in space, and so far, very little is actually in space. And if I wanted no mans sky, I would play no mans sky. I don’t see where its going and with new games, I would rather go in blind and wait a year before saying, I wish I knew this sooner(for my second play through and on). I would rather explore myself, the game is 100+ gigs, we shouldn’t be spoon fed…it’s the same thing as cheating if you ask me, and I know most cheaters don’t and won’t but might make a comment about me being dumb….

According to the numbers, 25% haven’t even gone to space. They are the type that want to have their hand held. But instead of them actually playing the game themselves, they want to be told how to play it. And that is who these videos are for…Kinda lame if you ask me, and if theres no info about how to clip into the walls to go steal the merchants inventory and cash….since its a bethesda game, their stuff is all found in a box under the ground….2023 and they can’t figure out how to give them the inventory so you can’t pick pocket them. So much stuff has come a long way, but so much stuff hasn’t been changed at all.

Any tips on how to make the game less laggy after making a big settlement system? On xbox!

If you’re on a planet exploring you can go into any area that requires a loading screen and access your ships cargo no matter how far away you are. So if you’re over encumbered you can put everything on your ship even from 3000m away.

Vasco does take up a crew slot but he doesn’t take a crew cabin, so you can have 2 people plus vasco on a ship with only 2 crew cabins but if you have a ship with 5 cabins say you can only have 3 crew until you unlock the crew command skill and vasco does take up one of these slots.

vender reset is 48 hours UT time, NOT local time.

vanguard pilot simulator is also a good way of getting easy lockpick skill, sit in seat to start the sim then get up and go to the terminal and hack the advanced debug section then just leave the sim and rinse and repeat.

If you choose jail instead of paying the fine it puts you negative for the level dependent on how big your bounty is not just set your level progress to 0

I haven’t seen anyone mention this, and maybe I’m too early in the vid, but Personal Atmosphere allows you to run completely unhindered while over-encumbered. You still won’t be able to fast travel, though.

sleeping wont remove status effects only heal the damage done by them. you still need an aid item or go see a medic to remove the effect i.e frostbite or lung damage

One thing I finally paid attention to after 30 hours is when throwing inventory into your ship cargo for the resource tab rb on Xbox will stash all resources at once so you don’t have to mash the A button

On lock picking, it will highlight all levels that it will work on, so look for JUST your current ring to be blue, because you could have a set that works on 2 rows or all 3 and use it up before you really needed it

You say that Vasco doesn’t take up a crew slot, if assigned to the ship, but this is only half true. He doesn’t take a crew slot from the ship itself but he does in the character crew roster limit. One needs to LVL up the perk that allows more crew members if they want Vasco and four other members on the crew, regardless of the number of crew slots on the ship itself.

Actually vendor reset is far more broken. It’s 48 ut which I have seen as little as 3 local hours allowing you to skip 350 hours at a time on titan and Kurtz. Skipping large amounts of ut will allow resources to fill up your storage bins in outposts. I made a fortune making like 100 storage containers and mined plutonium. Wait 1000 hours (3 local Kurtz days) and magically legitimate not glitched 70,000 or more credits. As long as you mine your own aluminum and iron (it will be full after waiting if you mine them so super fast expansion) it’s super cheap to get into, practically free.

The vendor reset is based on 24 hours Universal time. That makes the local wait time depending on the planet you’re on. But I saw a video that mentioned a Dev saying this was the case.

Didn’t watch the whole vid since it got into spoiler warning. But as tips goes, at the Lodge the container on the table in the crafting room is also infinite so i stuff all my resources there to free up space on my ship and to have it handy when I craft. And to sell contraband go to the Den in the Wolf system (early game). They don’t scan you and have a merchant.

Learned a lot from this. (20 hours in, myself). Thank you.

Thats wrong that weapons damage scales with your level. The damage on the weapons is dependent on the mods of the weapons and the quality (not the rarity).

13:34 landing pad isn’t ENTIRELY true. You can get MOST parts from it, but certain parts absolutely will not show up. I only had 4 landing gears show up on mine, I had to travel to the Deimos HQ/station to buy the Deimos 320CB Landing Gear for example. Buyable, but absolutely did not show up on my landing pad I built. Don’t know if that’s a bug or not.

fyi every safe,lockbox, and some ammo crates can all be used as storage, for unlimited items, and they will stay there, i have several planets i have contraband stashed at ready for sale.

There are no Superior weapons. Only suits, packs, and helmets go to Superior. Weapons max at Advanced.

There’s also 2 unlimited storage containers in the basement of the lodge. 1 small one behind the research station and another one on a table by mark 1 constalation spacesuit

Should have mentioned that some vendors like new homestead and panamora II have exclusive items such as landing gear and weapons for your ship. And should’ve mentioned that the engines you had on your ship are the best in the game. All tho there b rank it’s due to there lightness and thrust being 24k and 5.5k maneuverable at only 134mass compared to 28k at 330 mass. Aka half as light 90% as powerful

Tip I wish I knew sooner. The companions all suck and chastise everything you do pick line wolf. There’s no known failure considiom or stake. No bill am you’re not saving the universe or helping people. It doesn’t matter if you do anything. There’s really no plot. Enjoy starfield now that your free from disillusionment

Vender refresh is every 48 hours UT time. Venus is the second best place to go as it is 1hr/600ut time. There is one other, but I can’t remember it.

The 48 hour reset is actually tied to universal time. So you only need to wait 24 hours on New Atlantis.

In case it isnt mentioned, hold pause for a second, release and youll open the map.

Best tip is to not buy it. Just an awful game all around.

With the Mantis backpack, you are far more oxygen efficient when you’re over-encumbered, mix with the oxygen power you’ll never run out of air!

For stolen items if you want to remove the red icon you can also just drop it and pick it back up

Swim faster with your cutter out in scan mode and keep boosting with the jetpack to keep slightly above water. It spends less boost than flying so you can keep yourself in a state of slowly sinking into the water at walk speed.

some other tips, but for mining, press both left and right mouse buttons or triggers to accelerate its power, you mine ore faster that way, you can also use the personal atmosphere power to give unlimited oxygen for a short time which really helps when you’re over-encumbered

Man, I wish I had known about the spacesuit affecting stealth (I have it auto-hide) BEFORE annihilating all the guards at Generdyne. Ikimbe was NOT happy with me for that one…

You can get sneak attack damage (I think it’s 2.5 or 3x) without the Stealth perk. You’re just worse at stealth and don’t get the UI stealth indicator

You can actually earn credits by making antibiotic paste and lumberjack julep. To make lumberjack julep you will need one point in gastronomy. The cost to make them is less than what the vendor will pay. If you max commerce you can make quite a lot of credits and also gain some exp.

you will not lose O2 when you walk at all when encumbered, only if you run (meaning, on xbox at least, if you just push the left stick as far as possible) so no need to aim down sights, just walk at the same speed either way and the result is the same.

You can access the ships cargo within 250 meters.

This is kinda unknown but if you bind an alternative key to your jump, boost packs works as they are intended. Skip pack will properly boost you forward twice the amount and feels way better to use. Just put ‘ALT’ as alternative for jump and press it twice with a boost pack. You’ll thank me later.

5 days played biggest issue is loading screens and the main story is nowhere near as good as the side quest.

I dropped an outpost beacon right on the outskirts of New Atlantis on the other side of the lake behind the Armistice Archive and use it as a smuggling route into the city. See, there are two ways to evade a contraband scan once it’s begun, grav jumping away, or landing on the planet before the scan finishes. You just can’t land in any major settlement, or fast travel within them, until you’ve been scanned. But you CAN land at outposts. If you have one a short hike from the city, you can just hoof it. This is how you dump your piles of contraband into your safe at The Lodge without picking a fight with the UC.

Im honestly proud of myself, I have been doing stealth and almost getting caught with a spacesuit this whole time.

I had no idea about those snow globes, or how you can buy notes to locations of legendary gear on outoosts and whatnot.

A bit about bugs: 1. Wait for guards to mention a quest giver before talking to said person, otherwise Activities tab Might be filled with unremovable pointers. 2. Regeneration perk tier 3-4 are bugged and do Not work in combat. 3. Finish ALL the missions for a certain colony ship before installing a gravdrive for them (including delayed quests for mail delivery days after from members who left), you will not find them again, and quest pointers all show the wrong location. 5. Save before going on a long grav jump chains, when getting a quest “Failure to Communicate” do not ignore it, certain Insect related quest and/or ship breaks the aforementioned quest entierly.

On pc just toggle walk with caps lock. Its easier than ADS’ing all the way.

Aiming down sight makes you walk slow enough to regain O2 it’s not a catch all, if you are encumbered enough only personal atmosphere will work

Am I doing something wrong or did Bethesda update the game so I can’t store or remove items from my ship while standing outside the Lodge?? Is it too far away? Or do I have to be inside the Lodge to do it?

Does taking off the spacesuit for stealth tip take into account the Gravitic Composites mods you can put on your gear? Because I tested taking off my gear after hearing your tip, and I was detected significantly less with my gear on vs gear off (maxed stealth skills in both scenarios)

If you are on PC I cannot recommend using console commands to bypass the absurd Wait timer in this game

U can shoot or use the cutter on the red door pins. I never have a cutter on me so i just shoot the pins

Correction. You can reset vendors if you wait 48 hours UT time. For example, the vendors reset after waiting 24 local hours on Atlantis (50 hours UT time).

For the red doors you do not need a cutter. I have used various different weapons and the result is the same. Just shoot the pins!

I love how easy it is to miss the cuttable doors, they are red, it is literally written on them how to open them yet so many players totally miss that detail.

When selling or crafting multiple items you can move the amount bar quickly to 99 easily with a mouse, but does anyone know how to change quantities quickly using an Xbox controller?? If I have 5000 bullets and only want to give one it takes forever. Any tips / tricks for this?? Thanks 😢

The ADSing while over encumbered is actually tied to the walk speed, not the weapon. On controller at least, just push the analog stick half forward and you’ll walk faster than ADS walking and still not spend O2

Don’t invest in Crew Perks because CREW IS BUGGED and will disappear completely after couple of hours.

Didn’t know about the Outpost Vendor notes.

One tip I haven’t seen anyone mention is that you can equip 3 pieces of clothing. A garment, a hat and a implant.

The best implants I have found are at Newill’s Goods in Neon Core. She has 4 implants – +15% Diplomacy, +15% Intimidation, +15% Instigation and +15% Persuasion (super rare, only seen it once – right after doing the shop mission and not again – I missed it).

I think they confuse players because they look like outfits but they are not. They just change the facial implant.

How do you land on a hgh level planet? It says ‘unexplored route’ for me and won’t allow me to go there.

That unequipping spacesuit thing doesn’t seem to work for stealth on the last mission for the Ryujin storyline. To everyone playing that quest, just go guns blazing and save yourselves the headache.

My tip, and I absolutely hate that, superior armor is better then any legendary. A superior Bountyhunter or Superior Trackers Alliance suit are the best in the game right now. They drop at level 60 and above. Yes this is even better then the NG+10 Ventor suit. I hate that so much.

Superior weapons do not exist at the moment. Only advanced so legendaries usually hold up here. So its not as bad as with armor
