Hey @DNye , just one thing, the YouTube channel Starfield Eclipse has great analysis on the estimated player counts for STarfield across alll platforms, since Steam is a minority platform for this game. Long story short, the game has a healthy player count and looking at how ‘plays’ for popular mods increases over time is a good way at estimating player counts

I’d be much happier with the game if I could figure out the cargo link system. I’ve quit the game twice, trying to get and keep it working. I probably won’t come back next time. It’s very frustrating.

So unlike fixing and massively improving games like: Dying Light 2, No Mans Sky, Cyberpunk 2077 did… Bethesda are not really adding, fixing, improving things from the core of Star field – they are just selling new DLC.rather than fix the core of Starfield.

I loved starfield at first but it got stale. You cant release a single player only game today without constant new content and options. The biggest mistake they made was not giving us an online option. Image this game having servers where you can run into other players and fight their ships. That would have made this game thrive.

What is the problem with more factions…more side missions…more of anything…sure having AI build planets is cool but what does one do with 1000s of empty planets without mission?

They are abandoning the game! The DLC, if it is real it will be lackluster! Starfield was okay but nowhere near the Awesomeness of Skyrim/Fallout 4! The only thing expanding is the crap in the Creation Club!

They should completely remake the main story factions and rewrite the story choices to have more impact on the world or galaxy…

Outsider perspective. Seems like Bethesda was hoping the modding community would provide tons of free content for this game like they did for Skyrim. Providing a product that depends on support from free labor is problematic.

I’ve been playing the game since release. I quit the game after 3 months straight of game play was wondering when we’ll get free roam of exploration like no man sky or ever space 2 . Get rid of the loading screens let players fly thru the atmospheres and land anywhere on every planet or have full exploration of most of the game they need to let the players to explore to many walls in the game lost interest fast to bad starfield has great potential just need dedicated studios to make it happen

I finished it then realized how unrewarding it was. Not much reason to play again. It wasn’t horrendous like ppl say. Just no really meaningful choices at all. Im waiting for outer worlds 2.

Starfield is a solid 7/10 game. It needs work but it’s not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. As for not announcing anything at the XBox convention why would you announce that you are putting it on a PS5 there?
They should have been releasing new POI’s every couple of months to help populate the procedural planets. The Shattered Space DLC was again a 7/10, when completed the city should have been rebuilt and new POI’s put into game and daily quests for you to do after.
I’ve used the DarkStar complete game overhaul and Watchtower mods both are excellent.
I have over 2400hrs playing the game on 3 toon which are around lvl290 with one toon NG+12.
I’ve done every quest on each toon, built numerous space craft, did a Vyntinium Rod factory. So I’ve done it all.
Even with the flaws this game has I keep coming back to it because it’s a enjoyable time waster by just doing the dailies which take like 5 minutes to do when you really don’t want to do anything really involved.

I really tried to love Starfield. I played over 200 hours, which include a full play thru NG+ 10 and shattered space. Sure there was some stuff I enjoyed about it, but there’s just way too much wrong with it, and ultimately, it failed to move me in any way. It’s largely forgettable and the things that are not forgettable are negatives. Let the game rest in peace, hopefully Bethesda learns from it

I love Starfield but don’t understand why more people aren’t complaining that Bethesda has not released an instruction manual for the creation kit. We’re all still doing it by guess & by golly so many of the mods people use are a mix of professional and really crappy game breaking ones we need the creation kit wiki!

How about putting that effort in fixing the damned game before the community moves away from the game. I love this game but can’t finish it because it was half assed and constantly breaks in a fashion that I have to uninstall it and start over because the of the poor programing. FIX THE GAME

Comparing a Day1 Gamepass game with games that was earlier on Steam only, then using the Steam playcharts to compare players is a bit stupid. Obviously the vast majority of players/owners are going to skew the one platform over the other. Watchtower is a great example where they ignored the platform, and just saw how many people were buying a mod and loading the saves, and it was much much higher than than the skewed Steam charts. I personally have been playing Starfield on and off consistently since launch on Gamepass, didn’t buy Watchtowerr or Shattered Space, and yet I will not blip on both metrics, but I exist and I play at least once or twice a week.

One of my favorite games of all time. Unfortunately I also think this game is a little niche and that’s why so many people can’t seem to get it.

How about they fix fallout 4

As one of the 10 people that genuinely loves this game, I am excited for more content. Say what you want about this game, but it’s easily the least janky/most smooth game they’ve ever made. I went back to play fallout 3 again (one of my favorite games of all time) and it was actually hard to get used to the gunplay because the gulf in quality is that huge.

I always thought that the procedural generation in Startfield was merely a placeholder until the modders come and claim plots of digital real-estate. All Bethesda had to do was create an ecosystem, leave the modders to fill it up. I can’t believe they didn’t think about that.

Starfield faceplanted right out of the gate. It’s the only game from Bethesda that I’d happily take a refund on. Very low effort. Lukewarm reception of Shattered Space? Hahaha. It was pitiful. If they cut their losses right now, they might not lose any more on this title.

Starfield is like the perfect storm of bad ideas. Creation club, randomly generated POIs for exploration with a tremendously limited number of those POIs so it’s the same crap over and over. Main story written by someone on drugs. Hard left political slant that tries to hit you in the face at every turn. It has real problems that aren’t solvable with another DLC, especially with such quality work as Shattered Space for a template.

Watchtower is everything Shattered Space should have been in terms of adding additional story, gear, locations, and mechanics despite being a third party mod. BGS has gotten half-hearted and sloppy with its writing in the last several releases. Major NPCs have no reaction to major events the PC was involved in (high ranking UC general after you were publicly central to stopping an insterstellar threat to humanity as a UC officer: “Sarah, is this one of your little Constellation friends?”), and even the most morally grey (allegedly) companion throws a tantrum if a random background neutral or friendly NPC gets caught in a firefight, WHO YOUR COMPANION PROCEEDS TO GUN DOWN AND THEN BLAMES YOU FOR THEIR DEMISE.
So it seems like BGS doesn’t care if the writing and characterization is compelling or internally consistent as long as it provides the most threadbare pretext for the next firefight.

Shattered Space didn’t wow people and everyone says the next DLC needs to be better, but then act shocked that we haven’t seen anything about it yet. Bethesda knows the next DLC needs to be better, so delaying it to make sure it’s better makes sense. It would be nice to hear them say that, but remember that Todd Howard is fixated on announcing things only when its ready.

My only concern is star field going to be on PS5 The only reason I went with a PS5 pro was because Microsoft raised the price of the Xbox

I also want to mention starfield is far from dead. It’s just the loudest voices are the ones hating on the game. The mod watchtower has millions of downloads which shows there’s still millions of players engaging with the game and purchasing mods. Myself included.

I honestly think starfield would have benefited been an online service game like fallout 76. It would have allowed for space exploration without loading screens, and running into other players, seeing their creations, etc.

Starfield is a great game to me. I seriously love it. But yes, Starfield just needs more content. To fill in the emptiness of space. More complex caves, more weapons, more side quests, more lore items, more space station dungeons, more factions, more melee weapons, more fauna and flora, more towns.

I really enjoyed my like 700 hours in Starfield and I’m not done I just put it away for a bit I really think the Constellation story should have been much narrower in scope, and not the main story. The UC Vanguard story has everything someone might need to learn the games lore and powers and was a much better foundation and I’m glad I got to go through.

I decided to have another playthrough recently, after hating the game back then. Now that I’m trying to enjoy the game for what it really is (plus mods), I’m actually enjoying it. I’m excited for whatever comes next with it. I didn’t particularly enjoy the Shattered Soace DLC though

Stafield has a potencial to be 10/10 game, but they need to improve space exploration (scattering unique itens around planets), more meaning to outposts and the resources found there, more things to do with our ships and landing and departing without loading screens. Addind more stories won’t improve the game, the next DLC should improve gameplay not stories.

Modding really ruined this game… they released it to early and the amount micro transactions that goes on with this game is insane I hate there making their games pay to win…. Like I get FO76 for pay to win but starfield really??

Its always been amazing to me just how much people don’t understand the products in this engine, or why its so different from the waterfall dev era that came before 76. I dunno how this gets lost

The minimal analysis and lack of exposure to product management is telling, but i guess that doesn’t put food on the table for content creators.

I actually enjoy this game. I think I made I made it to ng+ like 4 or 5 times. However Vlad not giving more than one temple location was a huge turn off for me and I haven’t played since.

ES6, FO5, and Starfield all have their own teams, though im sure there’s some crossover as needed. ES6 & FO5 have been in development for many years, maybe not crunch-time “all hands on deck” yet, but its not been ignored in the least bit.

I loveed Shattered Space DLC, got at least 80+ hours of gameplay and loads of quests, its a lot like Far Harbor DLC in Fallout 4, its own story-line but still connected to the overall game. There were all sorts of strikes in the industry this year which I assume pushed dates back, especially the voice actors, since they only recently ended their industry wide strike.

Watchtower is good, better than the base game and dlc, I wonder how it would have been received if it was an official Bethesda release and not a paid mod.

If they gave this game the same attention as they do to FO and ESO they could have completely turned it around

Folks have been clueless about the voice actors strike that prevented our character voices, major NPC’s being unable to work. Just settled they will need new CBA’s & time to record content. Also seem to forget Microsoft runs them which amounts to “no news is good news”. If it was being killed all would know! Quality of Life enhancements to get it onto PS5 will happen first.

Bethesda also doesn’t tend to abandon games like that. Can’t think of one, at least.

They should just let the game die and focus on the games that actually sell and matter from them.. sorry to the 5 Starfield fans left! lol

Tbh I really like Starfield. I thought it would suck with what everyone was complaining about, but those are minor things. The game is fun for certain individuals. If you like fallout mixed with Skyrim and base building. Man there’s so much to do. Anyway I like the game regardless of the complaints.

What’s the huge news?

I’ve just started playing Starfield again after shelving it a week after release. It’s not as bad as I remember it? It’s pretty bare bones and outpost building feels pointless, but as there isn’t any other space shooter sandbox on console currently that isn’t even more shallow and janky, it’s hitting just enough of the vibes I’m looking for to keep me engaged. 6/10 could be better.

I really enjoyed Starfield. Didn’t pick it back up when I heard about the last DLC. Probably will just leave it on a solid 200-hour first play-through.

i loved fallout 4 more than Skyrim, to me skyrim was pretty boring because i hate mute main character, while in fallout, you could relate to what the main character felt because they had an actual character and emotions and opinions . i hope the next fallout also has a talking main character. (ps: I’m still obsessed with building settlements , it’s the most fun thing about the game )

shattered space, short? If you play the Story plus Quests you can spend a load of hours with that DLC. Besides you can get two new Crew Members.

I bought the ultimate edition, the watch and even bought the game again because my ultimate edition from GameStop did not arrive in time. I regret every penny. This game is the most repetitive garbage ever. The pirate mission was the only thing at decent about it.

I believe that they were way over their heads with this game, with the other two franchises, they had a finite plane to work with. But with anything space, a delicate balance with other planets and wide area, it would be hard to achieve the environment storytelling that they are used to.

No suprise that shattered space did poorly, I like the dlc, love the game but I don’t appreciate being stuck in Space Romania.

Next to elder scrolls starfield is my favorite bgs title. So I hope it get more dlc going forward. As for who makes fallout 5 it better be bgs or I will not be playing it. Obsidian I dont want to see touch fallout again new vagas is the only fallout I extremely disliked and have wasted more time and years trying to like it. So if a spin-off fallout is made by someone please do not give it to Obsidian find someone else

I really tried to like Starfield, I think the game looks great, and I thought to myself I wouldn’t be disappointed if FO5 was on this engine. Holy mother Mary is the game boring AF, I feel asleep in mid gameplay! I get that I am a much older Panda and all that, but damn son, I never fell asleep fighting the gunners, raiders, super mutants, or the institute. Just say’n.

Bro, Kinggath is goated, they also have tons of Settlement builds I’ve used when I didn’t feel like being a contractor for a specific play through in Fallout 4.

The last time I was disappointed in a game was cp2077 – but CDPR stuck with the game, kept fans in the loop and blew us all away with the massive dlc.
I feel like BGS have let us fans down.

Never picked this game up, but the scale of it’s failure is damn fascinating, not wishing ill will on BGS though, I would love nothing more than to be blown away by ES6.
