About the existence of Hell in Starfield: I am not versed on the deep Doom lore, but personally I always thought of the ‘Hell’ in Doom as a world in another universe that is hell-like in its environments and denizens. So maybe it is reminiscent of human myths of Hell (and even inspired them) but it’s not actually the Hell of Christian mythology.

It says a lot that one of the best Starfield mods isn’t even about Starfield

My wife says the way you say “three” is stupid.

One thing I have found that helps Starfields combat immensely is turning player damage down to easy and enemy damage up to very hard or extreme. Combat suddenly becomes fast and tactical. No more enemy bullet sponges and no more standing still absorbing enemy weapon fire with you face.

I think the DLC was ground based to try and build more of a story- and have more interesting levels versus procedural generated soulless crap. It was a response to the criticism of the main game. I played the game for 3 hours and haven’t picked it up since. Just feels soulless compared to their older ES/F games. Maybe mods can make it actually… FUN?

I can’t play Starfield (PlayStation Gamer). So I appreciate actually being able to watch a YouTuber I like play the game fr.

Starfield gave us everything FO4 did: A new art style, real FPS gunplay, a cool techy building-thing. They both just sort of have lame stories. I guess Starfield’s tech requirements pissed a lot of people off. I’ve got this thing where my frames stay dropped any time I enter the menu. Oh and I heard the Starfield advertising was considered deceptive? One thing that FO4 probably has over SF is hearing and seeing the warzone that is The Wasteland.

I pre-ordered Starfield fully knowing it would be Fallout 4 in space and resigned to it, but kind of excited to maybe build space colonies and do some space piracy. Thankfully the game crashed 15 very laggy minutes in and I refunded it to wait for it to be optimised or to get a better PC. Then people started talking about it and I realized they didn’t even bother fleshing those things out and I never bothered with it. Doesn’t seem to have any unexpected content that’d make up for all the lacks either. It’s fine, surely they just had to get all the boring out so they could make TES6 a masterpiece, right?

I think Starfield mostly suffers from it’s idea, it sucks cuz a Sci-Fi bethesda game could’ve been cool, but it both givs me hope but also worries about ES6 and F5 I’m excited cuz a lot of the base systems (ignoring it’s gimmick) are really good, like the Roleplay Options and stat system is solid, but it also worried me cuz it’s so restrictive F4 got me so excited for the future of BGS Games cuz it was way less restrictive than F3 and Skyrim

I actually kind of like Starfield. Except basically the whole main quest line. And the world building was pretty shallow. Had some neat ideas in some places, but nothing to really back that up. So let me tell you I would be totally happy watching any videos you want to make on this game in the future, regardless of how well this one does or not. NGL I would watch more of this game if you did decide to play more. While Starfield does have many missteps and questionable game choices it also gets a lot right IMO. I did enjoy the gunplay being like Fallout 4’s. I think the faction quests are quite enjoyable. The dog fights in space were quite fun though I definitely wish space were actually Open world.

These mods were interesting! I could see myself playing the Watchtower mod and not regretting it.

Stuff that for most games(especially ones as panned as Starfield on launch) woild have added for free. Weapon upscaling and legendary swapping should have been in the the base game. I agree with you on the modern Doom games. By the end of Doom 2016 I actually found it a little boring. Eternal was better and there was a lot I liked about it, but it was very demanding to play and I only played about 5 hours of it. Haven’t played Dark Ages yet.

Looking forward to watching this but by bit! The DLC was absolutely wack, but the actual content of Starfield and the esoteric aspects of the story were a big hit with me.

It’s a special version which is a reference to the ‘Scarab Gun’ from Halo 2 which was placed up on top of a building for testing and didn’t get removed in the final version of the game.

Every other variant of the weapon is normal and close to the vanilla game in terms of balance, Micky D just picked the easter egg gun.

As for the icons, at the time of release there wasn’t a way to add new icons other than requiring another mod which overwrites a vanilla file. Bethesda added the ability to make new icons in the most recent patch but I haven’t had the chance to go back and update the old mods yet.

The Tower in the doom mod is actually a repurposed base game POI. It’s usually just a normal science base without all the gore and such.
I mostly ran into it in higher level systems while bumming around and grinding xp.

Some day I should go back to Starfield, it’s just… hard to want to. I hate how many loading screens there are for anything you do. It’s a game I want to like because it has some killer art direction (the ship design and outfits and guns and some of the enemies look really cool!) but just playing it was never fun.

I put maybe 6 hours into it and haven’t touched it since launch. Maybe if it gets some mods it’ll be more enticing, but it really just feels like it’s languishing and dying a slow, quiet death… which is a bummer. The fact that Bethesda seems to be fine with ignoring the game at this point too certainly doesn’t help…

I punished myself to grind to level 100 for the achievement and haven’t touched it since. It really is a soulless boring experience. The NPCS’s are boring as plain vanilla ice cream, I truly hate the game and want to turn back time to when I chose not to purchase this game.

I enjoy playing Starfield when I am not playing it’s main quest. I only ever use the space magic crap when I have to do it at The Lodge and think the game would have been better without it. Then the whole starborn thing… I just hate it. Doing the faction quests is what I enjoy and then just doing whatever.
