Wait, I thought you already had a perk for recovering from infections, and I definitely remember you recovering from 5 infections with it to unlock rank 2. Am I tripping major balls here?

In my headcanon the Starborn retain some, but not all memories after going through the unity. Even then it’s more of a feeling than a memory.

Oh no, you were right there! It *IS* the jump button binding! When you have two buttons bound they do different things (for no well explained reason)!
