Another tip, if you use key locks. Don’t make fuckin keys. They are useless and will get your base taken. I’ve had to take like 6 new players based on officials this month, stop making keys.

I’ve learned in my short time as a rust player that the best start for a solo is to not start at all, a clan will undoubtedly destroy your hard work after a few days even though they probably don’t need any of your loot so do the smart thing and just grub until you get lucky and take over someone else’s base.

I prefer a 2×2. Its not crazy more expensive but i also dont have to move out if i make some moves immediately. Though container sizes have gotten bigger so maybe im just a relic.

No actually the best start as a solo is a china wall base already built that you steal from a Chinese Zerg. Just prepare for what’s to come after this is done.

I got a 4 door air lock. Trick is leave first door open, set inside the third and open all my other doors for a minute then they door camp to door 2 hoping to get into three cause they think you don’t think they are there then just respawn and close door 1 and they are trapped plus you got door 3-4 blocking so it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. “I got like 40HR’s of play time 5-10 hours idle time in rust don’t listen to me”

And if the outermost door of the 1×2 is on your right you the airlock will not allow people to gain access to the triangle without boom.

The best base to start is the legacy shelter. Then do what ever footprint. Only expand 2×1 as solo/duo

The entire point of airlocks is that you close the door behind you before you open the front

The doors are a block and cover strat not a airlock

Will you r wrong too , you should do the triangle on the other square so they cant get inside the airlock and soft-side it
