I might actually continue my save file or start over once the latest patch drops. Stopped playing months ago before the lead up to the titan fight. Not sure where that is story wise, but things slowed down to a crawl and I didn’t have to motivation to keep going once I realized the items and equipment didn’t matter

I have been gaming for decades now and I never got into Final Fantasy. One day about four years ago, I decided to play Final Fantasy seven remake. Which was my first Final Fantasy game. it was one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played, with the most relatable and memorable characters ever. Then I decided to give other FF games I never played a chance. Today I think it’s my favorite franchise of single player games. Amongst other ones of course.

now i’m very confident to say after seeing the DLC trailer : Joshua who wrote the book “final fantasy” in the post credit cut scene is Clive and JIll son, and the two kids are Clive and Jill grandchildren, and the mother is Joshua’s Wife, i asume that Jill lift the house to her son Joshua.
*the house in the post credit is in Mysidia in the north, Shiva/Jill orgin so i think that Clive and Joshua both are dead so Jill lift the hideway and went back to the north were she gave birth to her son and named him Joshua and he who wrote the book about his father Clive.

FF XVI is spetacular and still has some much to expand. Personaly, this are some thing i would like to see in a patch and with paid DLC:

– Sidequests with better presentation (camera work and more dynamic so is not so boring)
– Faster chocobo
– Better area map visuals (like ff7 rebirth or forspoken) – The area maps fuction well but for a game that focus so much on presentation, this feels very outdated
– Lore reading with option voice of Vivian or Hipocrates (Is a very dense lore game! Shadow of tomb rider did it well)!
– Rebalance of weapon stats (between power and stagger) to actually motivate to use difrente weapons and loadouts.
– Better Performance in 60fps

Paid Dlc

– Side story /backstory of Joshoa, Jill and Cid in other areas of the map and to complement the main game with battle mecanics unique to them.
– Party control party members
– Elemental weaknesses and status effects.
– Some mini-game (drinking game, sparing with partner, mediaval dance)
– More outfits

Any more ideias?

I’m hearing a lot of doubts about this winged Clive, the theories can be only two:

1) he’s a “sin devil trigger” form obtained once Clive obtain all the eikons and that’s not impossibile cause if u go to the site where they describe the abilities of leviathan they say that the powers of the new eikon will not be the only ones Clive will discover.. 2+2?

2) This Winged Clive is the secret boss of the the new “bloody palace” endgame content once u obtain all S rank value in the previous floors but it would be sad cause if u obtain that form after defeating him u basically completed all the content and u have no more reasons to keep playing 😂 we’ll see

One thing i hated is how most the eikons only had liek 2 abilities youd actually use the other ones were either bad or too niche..im sure you could make builds around those abilities but they just didnt feel good to use for me

I’m guessing the form of clive at the end is what the secret boss is in the kairos circle simply based off of the ceiling of the arena. only difference from what I can gather is that its normally red but in the picture is blue. That being said, I hope there’s some type of alternate ending to the story bc of clive completing his vessel.

The Clive with Ultima wings could be two different things a it could be that secret boss “what Ultima truly wanted or it is a secret ending after having all the power, we won’t know until later on I’m excited I have played through the game and Final Fantasy mode. I waiting on the DLC play threat with the normal, save get as strong as I can, and then redo everything in Final Fantasy mode suck the DLC‘s are so spread apart. I’m rusty.

Don’t know if anyone notices, but you can tell that Leviathan’s dominant is not in control. I’ve disciphered how it works. If Eikon’s eyes are blue, the dominant is the one in the driver seat, but if the eyes are yellow, the dominant has no control (this seems to only happen during moments of high emotional stress). Since you can see Leviathan has yellow eyes, his/her dominant has no control during the boss fight.

I SEE YELLOW EYES ON LEVIATHAN!!! if you played all of 16 you will notice that when a Eikon is going out of control there eyes glow yellow instead of blue meaning the Dominant isn’t in control

It was obvious to me that they wanted you to play ng plus (and the dlc on ng plus as if clive accidently sent himself back in time after the first ending) for a reason and that getting leviathan should theoretically allow clive to destroy ultima by himself and then use ultima’s power without dying afterwards. Im expecting that you can still get the normal ending and can pick which way you wanna fight ultima after finishing dlc 2 and that all they added was a true ending with clive absolutely humbling and absorbing ultima full cutscene style.

New appearances? Change abilities during combat? More slots for accessories? More commands?

The DLC content looks great. However, I think I burned out on FFXVI, just from my single playthrough. So I simply can’t imagine playing it again, as there are aspects of the game which I don’t like.

I want to believe it. But I’ve raised my hopes before for a new ending. Don’t to be disappointed and relive that pain.

This DLC looks so awesome and yess I want more FF16! Biggest wish is for a 40hr expansions with thons of updates and fixes, but I know thats just a dream.

God damnit I will have to play the entire game in a new save file now.

The game is bland and a dlc can’t fix that really. It was a fun cinematic experience but when compared to something like rebirth it’s a shame they put out a whole numbered final fantasy and the only location name I can remember a year later is Rosaria and the only piece of music is the find the flame thing. I don’t see myself returning although it would probably be fun enough for a weekend.

They could easily eo something similar to Alan Wake 2s final draft ending where it dosent erase the ending it just expands upon it in NG+

I kinda wish they released a “royal edition” that included a complete revamp of the Ash continent story + a proper final dungeon. It really feels like they ran out of time/resources when they reduced an entire continent into a 1 hour romp into the capital with no NPCs or armies or anything.

The first 2 seconds of the video and i already see something i despised about 16 XD the Chocobo is constantly running on grease.

Until 16 can come back and be on the same level as 7 Rebirth, I’m not giving it any more of my money. The world is empty, the story is boring and predictable, and the Icon fights were tedious. The graphics were good, but that’s about it.

Please, continue giving us Final Fantasy XVI content! This is what gives your channel edge over some other content creators who abandoned the game due to backlash, but you remained loyal and true. My excitement is through the roof for The Rising Tide, in unfolding the backstory regarding sacrificing a child to form Mysidia’s Mothercrystal in hopes to end suffering.

The original ending was perfect.

I’m confused about this new boss for fighting all the bosses with an s rank in ff mode. Where is the fight, in the base game or the dlc? Is this Kairos gate part of the base game now, just an arcade mode added on the startup menu or is it also accessible through the dlc?

They fumbled by not making a Knights of the round summon DLC!!! What a perfect plot and setting for that to happen cmon SE make it happen!!

The special final boss has gotta be Gilgamesh. Been seeing him a lot more lately from origins and FF7 Rebirth. It’s pretty cool. Too bad Dissidia at the moment won’t be getting a remake or even Duodecim, NT was a bit of a sour taste for most unfortunately.

Two things, and while I understand if your position is that these aren’t your things, they are definitely final fantasy related things.

First, way back on the GAMEBOY square ported over 3 games into english and labelled them as “Final Fantasy Legend”. Several years after that somebody decided to take up the task of making a sequel to these games and labelled it the “SaGa 4 project”, then they ceased and desisted that and just make their own game which released this month, that game is The Secret of Varonis and its dang good. Might not be your bag, but its dang good.

Second, next month we get a SaGa game from Square Enix, titled SaGa emerald beyond, and it also looks dang good but for different reasons.

I hope they add to the ending, or provide an alternative one, since both those things aren’t changing the base ending. Yoshi could be sneaky like that and surprise us.

I’ve always thought that Clive lived, I thought the evidence for that was greater than for the opposite.

1. He’s the narrator, the first and last words in the game are his, which sound like the opening and closing lines of the book. It’s like he’s telling the story to his kids or something. The post credits scene doesn’t count as it’s way off into the future and isn’t written in a book. I actually think the people in that future are Clive and Jill’s descendants.

2. The platinum trophy is titled “The Chronicler” so just read the definition of the word.

3. Harpocrates says Clive should write a book of his adventures etc.

4. You don’t see him die, and the petrification stops at his hand, which is clear from the shot that shows his arm, proving it didn’t progress further. The Ultimania has also confirmed that without Ultima/magic, petrification/curse doesn’t exist anymore. Therefore he can’t be killed by something that doesn’t exist.

5. The book is titled “Final Fantasy” which is an oddly specific name I doubt anyone would come up with. Except for Clive who said the words in the final battle that only he was present for. Plus if Joshua lived, he’d of likely published it in Clive’s name, just like Clive would likely do for him. If neither lived, I’d imagine whoever did would credit it to them both, since they both played major parts and saved the world.

6. Joshua was dead, if Clive thought he was alive after the spell he did, he would of checked for signs of life. Not to mention the huge inferno explosion he does right after that would cremate him. And if not he’d probably drown. Plus are they really gonna do 2 fake out death’s for him, like cmon.

7. A huge part of Clive’s arc is his selfless martyr like tendencies, and numerous characters reference that and try to convince him to live, save himself etc. So him doing the opposite of that just seems very unsatisfactory to me.

8. Jill in her side quest explains that she symbolises the Dawn as Clive returning to her. So her breaking down in tears at the end, only to stop, smile, and look somewhat hopeful when the Dawn appears seems significant. I doubt she would stop crying that quickly, considering he was her everything.

9. Torgal howls twice and that’s it. No whimpering either, which he did for Cid, and when Clive left for Origin. Howling can be used to mourn, but also to rally other wolves. Torgal even looks side to side like he’s awaiting Clive’s return. He also doesn’t look distressed either, which he certainly would be if he thought Clive was dead considering how close their bond is.

10. If one has to die, it makes better sense that Clive lives and Joshua dies. Since the former’s arc has a big focus on saving himself, to stop sacrificing himself. While the latter’s had a big focus on him being the weaker brother, always needing his shield etc. So him being the one to save Clive through his sacrifice of containing Ultima inside him, and giving him his powers, make more sense and provide a better end to their arcs and the story.

Can’t wait, platinum’d and did a medal of valor run. Defo want more FF16 after this.

I wouldn’t mind if FFXVI was just one of those games that randomly got new DLC every few months. Yoshi P talked about how much he wanted to make a Cid DLC, how they’re considering making the other characters playable depending on how the PC version performs, and how he would’ve liked to add Alexander or Diabolos. I got everything I wanted with Leviathan and Fallen DLC, but I wouldn’t mind a Cid or Barnabas DLC

I’m happy for those that are excited for this, but, man, I have zero desire to ever touch this game again. Every hour after the 30 hour mark just soured more and more for me. Now when I think about the game, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Lets goooo!!! Damn, the first few months of the year is packed lol. Leviathan moves look badass. I wonder if they’re gonna alter the ending somehow. I liked the way it ended, but I know a lot of people didn’t. Guess we’ll see what happens!

I bet there’s gonna be a trophy for that Palace thing as well. Wonder how big this DLC actually is with all the new content and side quests. Looks like my 100% save is no longer 100% lol. The level cap increased to 55 and 105 with the Echoes of the Fallen, so that’s not a surprise. I only reached max level on my FF save so this should be a decent chance to get my Level 51 to 60 fairly easily.

If they were to release more DLC after this, I would definitely be interested and would get it for sure, but I’m totally satisfied if this is the final leg as well.

I really hope future final fantasy title able to combine seamlessly battle system between 16 and 7R. 16 movement is pretty satisfying except that it’s all button mash and waiting skills cooldown, the dodge is so satisfying. 7R ATB system is so nice, but movement and dodges are very clunky, does not feel as satisfying and sometimes you thought you’ve dodged with quite some distance away but you’re not, the enemy hit you anyway.

I think at the end of video is the real Mythos, with all eikon power and ultima’s power combined, this is basically what if Clive has all the power and becomes more powerful existance than Ultima.

I love this game. Most underrated game in the series. I think this is the final dlc and they won’t add to this game. But I’d support a FFXVI-2 even if they pulled some XIII type ish to do so.

I have been wanting a Bloody Palace type mode for this game since basically launch, glad it’s finally happening! Going through the stages on Ultimaniac was already a great way to flex the combat system, so I know I’ll be sinking some real time into the Kairos Gate.

My prediction/hope is that they didn’t “change” the ending, as the ending to the base game will still exist as is, but rather that they ADDED a new “true” or alternate ending that gets unlocked by completing the DLC. Fingers crossed.

They fixed the 60 FPS mode on Final Fantasy 7 in like two weeks, but they still haven’t fixed the frame rate for performance mode on Final Fantasy 16. That’s the one thing I wanted.

Leviathan has always been my favorite summon and this one does not disappoint, Can’t wait for this DLC, to me FF16 was so under rated I loved it.

I expect there to be some change to the ending since it never made sense that Ultima would try to take Clive as a vessel when he’s incomplete. Leviathan being lost should have been a bigger plot point in the game.

Hopefully, Jill is more active in this DLC. It looks like the Leviathan fight will be 1-on-1, though. Shiva helping Ifrit would be nice to see. The two never appear onscreen together in the game, which was odd.

I really tried to like 16, but for everything there is to like about it, there was more that I disliked. Oh well, hope 17 will be better
