A big thing that people point to is said is the mudus fight, and if Dante can move faster than light speed it creates plot holes. I mean for frick’s sake he’s on a timer at to escape moon to his Island and he needs a plane to do it. He genuinely thought he was going to die there. If you could move faster than light and fly, he didn’t need a plane. It’s more likely that they weren’t flying through the cosmos and destroying planets and all that and much more likely that it was basically just a pocket dimension for Mudus to go all out. And then there’s a said the whole claim of multiversal stuff for Devil May cry 5 which…no? Like yeah the demon realm is its own realm. But really that counts as multiverse? while I don’t know much about Clive I know Dante also has quicksilver style which allows him to slow down time like Bayonetta’s witch time ability and if they let him have yamato like he does in DMC4 yamato can cut through almost anything including space to create portals. Also royal guard can absorb damage and use it against the opponent. He can also teleport with trickster style. Also in DMC4 he had a royal guard ability(Dreadnaught) that made him temporarily invulnerable to all damage.

Especially when Dante’s time stop is strong enough that characters who resist time stops are still affected
