Due to an update with the DLC, I have to get the other Eikons before getting all the Eikon upgrades trophy before I get the platinum. 😢

It’s insane to me how people can platinum games in under 100 hours. It has taken me 120 hours just to beat the main game I haven’t even gotten platinum yet it also took me around 150 hours to platinum Stellar Blade. Maybe I’m just bad at videogaming😅😅

I think the hardest part of ff16 platinum is chronolith trial because u need to be patient

I was just thinking that is been a year since the game came out as of yesterday, and I just finally got around to playing the game. I’m in the rising tide DLC and I just have to do the last boss, and I’ll be done.

I’m doing this platinum although a very good game on final fantasy mode the enemy’s get a silly amount of HP they just turn into sponges 🧽

I definitely enjoyed this game more than 15. Its story and cinematic battles really makes me glad i bought a PS5 just gor this game. As a side note, i found it VERY helpful to go for the Eikon ability trophies as soon as you have that Eikon. It helps you focus on the other trophies but also helps you prepare for the Cronoliths as youll be more familiar with the abilities. Maxing out your AP can also be done early to help you equip whatever abilities you want.

9 months later after both dlcs are out…game just got better…. MWAH

Wait. I thought there was a trophy for doing ALL the side quests. I remember being a little mad because I missed 2 for the trophy. Am I just going crazy? Was I imagining things?

This was the first mainline FF game I’ve beaten since 12. I really enjoyed it, the music and the epicness was outstanding. I played on a Sony OLED with a Sony theater sound system. OMG that made it so much crazier. The rumbling going on during those boss battles with the epic chants going on was totally something to be experienced.

Tbh final fantasy mode isn’t really the real hard mode like in remake. The true remake like hard mode is ultamaniac mode in the stage replay

Joshua is alive because he’s the phoenix. That’s kinda the whole schtick of the Phoenix. Rebirth.

Getting into final fantasy for the first time bought it this morning and I’m 7hrs in. Plus the game is beautiful and so badass. I underestimated this series.

The references to FF XIV are so great. If you played XIV you know what I mean. Yoshi-P aka Naoki Yoshida‘s influence is all over it. I love it!!!!!

I just platinumed this 2 days ago and i loved every moment of it the only thing i didn’t do was hit level 100 i did every side quest and hunt in both playthroughs and only hit 89 since i didn’t use the xp boost stuff

Truly did enjoy the game. Will definitely be playing it again and getting the DLC. I had a few issues: Side quests were so boring to me. After I did 15 or so and saw they were fetch quests without substance, I skipped them. Never cared or saw the point in going after trophies either. Loved the political intrigue, but they fumbled that ball toward the latter half of the game. It could’ve been so much greater. They initially set Annabelle up to be a main villian but reduced her to a side character you never had any interaction with. Music was excellent! Loved the characters and villians. Loved the action. Not much by way of rpg elements or strategy. Wish I could play as other characters. This game is solid, though not without its flaws.

Question: Do I need to buy the music rolls from merchants for the platinum or can I save my Gil?

ＢRRUUUHH! Grinding out the levels and tgose people are pointless 😂 you couod have just replayed tge gane properly and still got those itens and had fun. The repetitive runs kill the game and drag out the feeling so much farther. I platinumed this game and vy the third time playing i didnt die once because I mastered the combat and it was SOO fulfilling. Im not mad that he did it this way just 😂 im just weirded out because he chose to put himself through 5 hours of grinding instead of 1 to 2 hours of story for the same amount of XP 😂

Guys quick question I have finished the game on final fantasy mode I got every skill and the ultima blade but it said if I try and start a new game plus again that isn’t final fantasy mode the data won’t carry over does that mean I won’t have all my skills or the ultima blade I worked really hard for that fucking sword

The side quest are extensive and take awhile but you can see how you have affected the entire world and people. They are also how you get the ability to make best weapons and armor in the game.

But yeah they are slow slow burns and feel annoying but the endgame ones are a little touching

I love how the side quests are more than just side missions that give little to nothing. They feel more like main story off-branch missions bc they add so much to the world, and to the story. And as for the rewards, ur get new recipes, improved heals, and even a mount.

Tbh bro you’re wrong about the side quests, they’re depressing asf but they’re very impactful for the story as well def one of the best parts of the game

The Side Quests kill the tension too much. I’d get done with something really exciting and there’s 3 more green bubbles around my hideout. It happened so often and it was always in 3s. Really kills the mood. The rest of the game was stellar, but they could have cut down how many side quests this game has.

but seriously joking aside the end is open to interpretation…
i can’t help it but to think that Clive and JIll died together…
all we see that Clive hand start to turn to stone also the same with Jill so both of them don’t have much time left to live..
if you paid attention to the ending Jill crying all night then sunrise she stopped and smiled then black screen and Clive says : “tus our Journey end”, remind me of Clive and Jill in the flower scene “no matter how dark the night dawn will come and that you will come for me Clive” and near the end “i will come back, i promise, i love you”.
the game theme song is about Jill wish “Clive returning to her”…
and the book in the post credit by “joshua rosfield” at first you think that joshua made it but i can say that joshua is dead base on Clive flashback near the end “baby joshua” and his decision to end all magic it’s like he come to “term with joshua death”, so if joshua is dead then it could be that Clive wrote it and used Joshua name to honour his memory there is a quest with Hippocrates where Clive say : “i may start writing after the sword”.., also maybe Clive and Jill had a son and named him Joshua and he who wrote the book about his father…

All side quests are interesting in the “lore” way. Some of em may be boring but I think it’s rewarding us by giving us more context or deep diving into the character.

My LEGIT (yes this is a linear ACTION ff game for you turn based die hards) complaints with the game:

1. Framerate woulda been nice at a consistent 60 for atleast gameplay. Motion blur is now fixed so thats good.
2. FF mode available from New Game. I like the OPTION to choose how hard my story experience is. And since FF mode is in the actual game, it would have been nice to have it at the start.
3. The loot around the maps is probably some of the worst and most useless stuff in the game. If you explore enough there is no reason to even craft anything except the next new weapon or gear that comes up at the smith after the story progresses. And the DAMN CONSTANT 10 GIL or whatever even in the LATE GAME! WTF square?! lol

FF16 is a 9.5/10 for me.
If these 3 were good from the start, easy 10.

Should increase the damage for every enemy in the game lol

Joshua was barely alive after the Ifrit/Phoenix fight, and the Undying, a sort of secret Rotarian group dedicated to protecting the Phoenix found him and provided medical treatment, so that’s why he is still alive

This game has some of the best trophy names in all of gaming

nice work. i love this game loads and grtting close to platting it.
on terms of difficulty, i have thought a lot about this and talked with loads of people both having a really easy time with it and those having difficulties.
it’s not so much that the enemies are too easy, it’s thats Clive is too strong. the S rank enemies for example are really strong and have tones of AoE and phases where grtting hits in is real hard… but he has so much power even not counting the eikon abilities. the dodge alone makes him over powered, if you can dodge everything then nothing matters. you will never die. even if clive was put into devil may cry 5 hell or hell mode with only pheonix and garuda, no ultimate skills either like flames of rebirth, he would decimate everything with just his dodge counter
the only way the combat would be “hard” is he’s intentionally nerfed or limited. and no one would like that. so while the game being “easy” is disappointing to me, i am glad it is because the character you use is so strong, and not that everything is basically worthless.

Wish it was more of an open world but can understand the the direction from the team. Tbh it makes me more hyped for ff7rebirths open world

Side quests weren’t boring for me because the Main quest events were so epic and hit me so hard emotionally, I needed a cooldown by doing these “boring” Side quests.

I’ve never really liked it when you’re required to play a game multiple times for a Platinum. I think the only exception is NieR:Automata and that’s because each time you play through the game you play a different character and you get their story.

I came into FF16 a bit hesitant because even though I’m a big fan of the series (hence my name) I’m not particularly good (I mean 💩💩) at action games and was disappointed by 15.

Ended up having an absolute blast! Not perfect, but absolutely worth all the time I put into it. Still need to do NG+.

And you don’t have to do exactly ALL the Sides.. I missed some, and was able to get the related trophies as well in my first playthrough.

You said Jill/Shive was being controlled by Clives Mother, that’s not correct. She is being controlled by the Iron bloods, the enemies of Rosaria. They came in and attacked after Clives mother betrayed Rosaria and took hostages since all the fighting force was wiped out.

Honestly, my only disappointment with this game was that I didn’t feel FF Difficulty really added any difficulty at all. I completely agree on it feeling like a slog when going for the platinum, they really just needed to add some speed to the enemies moves or maybe new moves entirely but they opted for just damage sponges for some reason. I still think this is my GotY so far, and I don’t know if anything can top it besides maybe Armored Core/Spider Man 2. Glad to see you enjoyed it too!
