Also, absolutely nothing about the gameplay interests me so far. Are there even party members? Do you ever control more than a single character? This might be the first non-online FF game I’ll be skipping.

I can’t look at that last image in the book at the end and not see safer sephiroth. I know its not him, but I mean.. c’mon. Lower half has wings, there’s what could be long hair coming from his head but is probably just horns or something. Like, at the same time, it looks kind of like a combination of a few different Eikons(Garuda, maybe Phoenix and if its horns, Ifirt), but that imagery so screams SS. And then there’s buddy at 2:06 looking like he’s come outta Endwalker AND Shadowbringers. Dude looks like the MC from the trailers slightly, plus that background looks like a negative of the split sky from Shadowbringers scenes

Regardless, I can’t wait to play this! Looks like it will be gooooood!

My issue is, Final Fantasy has always been iconic. You know when a game is Final Fantasy. This game, however, doesn’t scream FF. If you showed me this and told me to guess what this was, I couldn’t tell you. But I’m also not a midevil fan so maybe that’s the issue. I won’t be playing this but I hope those who do enjoy it.

Looks like they improved on the combat framerate. Was looking hella choppy before. Similar to the upcoming Crimson Desert open world Korean RPG (where the hell is that one btw). Still not completely sold on a non party based battle system though. I mean I see the main walking with a group but the combat I only see him performing. Well so far it thats how it looks to be.. Voice acting and character cutscene animation look believable and natural at least. Cant stand that cringy anime style mannerisms thrown in other JPRGs especially when you’re aiming for a non anime approach.

Graphics could be more next-genish. Colours could be more than dark or grey.
Compare RE4 Remake chars with this ones. Looks like a generation difference. Compare the textures of the world assets. RE4 looks so much more alive …. sorry. To me it feels not like a worthy new FF?…what is it, that makes you so excited?

This is a lot of spectacle and gives me less than zero reason to care about any of these characters. In fact, I feel like I range from “kinda hate” to “please drop dead” on all of them. Final Fantasy is built on its cast, so that’s not a good thing.

I like the locales they showed off. Still not fully sold on the characters yet. But I’m feeling pretty optimistic about this one. It feels a lot more FF than 13 and 15 did.

Would it kill them to add color to their games? It looks like it has FF14’s color scale, which is just bland, dull and grey. There’s a reason majority of FF14 players installed gshade/reshade mods, because the world looks like fucking ass. Bloodborne has more color. Go back to FF13, FF10 colors – bright and vibrant.

It looks great, but something worries me, the Eikon battles. They sure look amazing but I hope they are not just like the Leviathan/Titan fights from FFXV, which looked good but felt hollow and disconnected from the 90% of the game’s gameplay.
