lets hope they don’t mess up this game like they did ff15 on launch. the story looks a little cliche or it mite be the trailer giving that impression. the gameplay looks good but there mite be a problem if they go in a dark souls vs a level combat style. lets hope you get control of the summons this time. it mite be hard to care about the characters with this one it looks like its set in the dark ages. witch is not normal for a final fantasy game at all. I can’t even see how it could have a compelling storyline but then again I thought the same thing about ff14 back in the day to but it surprise me because they where not in the dark ages at all they where coming out of a post-apocalyptic world and making a brighter one and there was tech on the level of terraforming planets but most of there tech was lost in the apocalypse. if you know the back story its a know brainer that most people would find it interesting

Combat looks wack, again.
When i got the platinum trophy for 15, i died 1 single time the entire game, driving the regalia of course.
And now we get served portions of a Final Fantasy game, never the whole game.
Meanwhile elden ring dropped a game where if you arent experienced at the series you can have upwards of 150 to 200 hours easily 1st platthrough with very high replay value, straight gameplay..not grinding, not cutscenes accumulating for 7 hours.

I’ll wait till actual gameplay comes out too many pre-rendered cutscenes lol yall are too easily fooled smh

As long as they don’t have a 7 year old designing the battle mechanics like they did in 15, I’m good. I don’t mind not having turn based battles anymore but I don’t want “hold a button, get a combo” to be the legacy of this series.

Ff 16 is fine without party member . This is new direction yoshi p meant to the interview ,they want to draw younger generation or new fans onto final fantasy universe. And i think is clive is fit to become solo party or one man army by himself .
Anyway they have buddy system or guest party along the story each scenario . As long this game have good story, epic battle , great music and Deep/emotional character , i’am all for it . And i can’t wait for this game to come out.

I Have hopes. Brutal combat, violence, high fantasy, political intrigue, and Kaiju summon battles. THIS is what I have been waiting from fantasy fantasy. I hope they deliver.

Relatively new fan to Final Fantasy. Loved FFXV and currently playing FFVII remake. I was excited for the next entry and this does look great but doesn’t give me FF vibes. Seems so serious. Missing some of that charm and light hearted characters.

This looks really cool. I still don’t know how I feel about the apparent lack of a party though. I think the interactions between party members in a lot of the final fantasy games are why I consider them so great. I guess we will see. The game play looks great though.

It looks like you will get to manually control the summons during battles while fighting other giant monsters (perhaps other summons you gain throughout your journey) which is something I have wanted in a Final Fantasy game for years!

Ngl I was thoroughly indifferent to this game when I watched the first reveal trailer but now that I see that the gameplay is gonna be even more Hack N Slash-ish than 7R I’m hooked enough to give it a try

I’ve been able to muster at least some excitement for the past few main installments as they neared release, but even so there was a certain level of “uh-oh” with titles like XIII and XV. This is the first time in a long time I’ve not felt worried about the quality an upcoming Final Fantasy.

I want to love this.. the graphics are incredible. But the gameplay looks like Kingdom Hearts III. From two trailers, the story is not at all compelling. Empire, impending war, summons… Yawn. Honestly getting a bit tired of the medieval period settings in RPGs. It’s overdone imo. This looks like FFXII 2.0. Also, I miss the old style turn based combat from classic FF. Although, I know that won’t come back.

Honestly I don’t know if I’m excited, after xv I was really hoping for a return to form with the classic turn based system and perhaps a bit of lightness or levity in the story so it isn’t another grimcore. Don’t get me wrong, the visuals look amazing and seeing summons fight is actually so exciting, I just hope the game isn’t as “dark” as the trailer makes it look

If only it was on a console that people could actually buy. Hard to get hyped for something when I either have to get lucky or pay between $800 to $1000 just to get the system.

Final Fantasy : The Summoning 2023

God, this looks so sick! We need a really good single player Final Fantasy game that isn’t a remake. It’s been a while. I thought the 13 games were decent, but 15 was bad, in my opinion. 12 was the last truly great single player FF game. FF7 remake is good, but I’ll always be more excited about new stories.

plz correct me if i’m wrong, but i believe this is the ONLY M-rated final fantasy game. and that’s ok with me. that gives the team a lot of room to work with. so hyped for this game. sad that i have to wait a year for it, but i can stay occupied with other games coming out this year. but as soon as this game comes out, it will have my FULL attention.😁

Ifrit is always the 1st major summon so makes sense for Clive to be it’s dominant, only question is why is there two & does that mean the second beat/killed Joshua or was Clive manipulated into doing it himself… Game is gonna be sick can’t wait for the eikon vs eikon boss battles

2023 meaning ff7 remake 2 2024

So this is what happened after The Legend of Dragoon.

Let’s be brutally honest: The more you watch this the better it gets. The potential for this is massive. I’m seriously excited to see how they bring a world where summons are like AOT titans duking it out together. I’m not a fan of the UI but I’m here for the story tbh.

So based off the previous trailers and this, the first eikon we will get is phoenix more than likely we get when his young brother dies and transfers his power, we will get Garuda, titan, ramuh, Shiva, then Odin and lastly bahamut, ifrit is somewhere in between those but before bahamut.

This is definitely not a “gameplay trailer”. I want minutes of completely uninterrupted, raw gameplay. It looks cool from the few seconds we see of it but I don’t want that interrupted by cinematics.

Man if only this was comming out for the series x 😭

Good looking trailer as always, but not being fooled into preordering the game again as I did for FFXV when I received a shell of the game with mandatory DLC to patch the disjointed story line.

Been a fan since 95. This trailer made me excited like a kid again, it’s very rare for that to happen. I want this game now.

When can I preorder?

So the main character transforms into a phoenix and fly to the kids rescue only to see the kid transform into the red eyed Ifrit (remember that they transform into them and not summon them so phoenix being there while the kid still in human form rules out the possibility of him being the phoenix)after seeing his dad head cut off.
We saw in the new trailer that the phoenix (which has a green health bar) is fighting Ifrit and gets 1 shot by Ifrit attack, we also see that the main character says to the kid to wake up as the ifrit tears him or someone important apart and later we hear that the main character would take revenge.
My theory is the main character swears to take revenge against the kid after what he has done after losing control and transforming into an unstoppable Ifrit.

Okay, this is looking really hype.

Although, would be kinda disappointed if Alexander doesn’t come back.

I really hope this will be actually complete and cohesive as a story, and not feel like they did 180 on story direction like with 15. Like, they had the swords, the titans, and the time travel in that game and it basically went no where. Like they meant bad things to happen that you would then change by going back in time “by the fact some of the swords you literally could not get without doing that” but then just didn’t do that. It felt like they where going to have it where you could change your and your friends fates by doing that but then just simply didn’t. I thought they would do like a 10-2 where if you didn’t collect all the things you would get a different ending, but if you did get them all then boom, Tidus is back. And it felt like the entire game was gearing up to that kind of aspect, and then just after the big tragedy in that water city, everything plot wise started to fall apart like a sand castle. Suddenly all of these super important aspects didn’t matter and served no purpose. Why did you need to gather the titans? No reason. Why did you get all those swords? Just because. What was the purpose of the time travel? Nothing. It’s like someone was writing a giant epic and then part way through got hit over the head by someone who took over and scrapped every idea they had.

I wonder if Alexander and The Knights of the Round would be included. They would fit very well in this story.

Hmmm, the FF14 vibes are coming through very strong. FACIST empire, summoned beings that erode the spirit. This might be a shot in the dark, but this might be a prequel.

Another button mashing action game from the one great turn based juggernaut. Sadly this franchise died a long time ago. It doesn’t even appear that you have a party anymore. Great art style but the gameplay blows.

As someone who’s kind of new to FF games, it’s all one universe ? Or this takes place in the past? I’m playing ff7 remake right now so just wondering if it’s all tied together with the other games or not

I was watching this full audio at a restaurant and was thrown out because it was to loud and then I pulled out the phone last seconds and said coming sumer 2023 and I was like😑

I rather have the combat system of the old FF games instead of hack and slash, I can go buy Dmc and smash buttons. This game looks awesome from the graphics but I’m a bit disappointed they’re turning FF into a combat game.
I wish they make a proper remake of FFX where they keep everything like the old version but just improve the graphics.

I wish they would make more games that are in the turn-based genre. I don’t like action games like this, and Final Fantasy didn’t start out out anything like this, but I get that they have to make their flag ship games be what modern audiences want… the Final Fantasy I grew up with has been dying for a long time and trying to make the old and new players happy is just making the games worse than they need to be. But still, If they could just put together more small teams to make the older style games…that would be nice. I don’t care about the FF name, I just want more from content in the older style.

I was really hoping that this would’ve come out this year, that way Final Fantasy VII Part II would come out next year.

I love how fresh this game looks for the franchise. With the amount of misses they’ve had recently I think it really needs it. Find what makes the franchise stand out today instead of resting on what made it great 20 years ago.

ugh why does the mc look just like noctis. i do not want another ‘bros only camping trip’ FF with press X to win combat. noctis was unlikeable as were his frens and ff15 combat was easy, repetitive and devoid of strategy. 🙁

Unpopular opinion: I LOVED Final Fantasy XV, and it is one of my all time favorite games.

This looks like it could be a perfect blend of FF 12, 14 and 15 with combat lessons from DMC 5. The staff on this project support this too. I am as hyped as can be within reason.

I love how they chanted the name name of the summons towards the end. It definitely has me hyped for the game.

Looks like FF is heading towards to a mature tone more and more. Those crazy Summon Battles where they trying to tear each others limbs is a sight to behold! Also Ice Queen Shiva is hotdamn hotter than Ifrit’s Flame!

It really feels like final fantasy will never recapture the magic and recognizability of the PS2 era – everything looks so beautifully detailed yet generic at the same time.

The HUD looks awful, why such a huge healthbar taking so much space on the screen?

Looks a lot like ff 7 remake which is good in it’s own way, other than that, summons look cool, story looks interesting and as anime as ever, can’t wait to try this one.

I really hope it gets a PC release…

My only concern for this game is all the dmc style text on screen whiles doing combos. Kinda takes away the final fantasy aspect and makes it more of a dmc style game

Great trailer, but not convinced by the fact that they showed no open world, towns/cities/locations etc. We already had a teaser trailer. Was really hoping for something more substantial to go on than a beefed up version of the original trailer.

Come on SE, I hope they get this one right. SE has messed up in so many strange ways in the past. I think my greatest hope is that they keep the annoying characters to a minimum (unlike FFXIII) and give the game a vast scope with a world that actually feels alive (unlike FFXV).

This does have the potential to be the best single-player FF in a very long-time!

My only concerns is combat is too actiony and too many things happen on the screen, afraid couldnt keep up the whats happening on screen and lose the rpg element, hope it’s not true

WHERE DOOMTRAIN? JK. I am super stoked for this. I wonder if there will be secret summons as well. I want to see Alexander in the style of this game. Also, it’s nice to see blood and more mature themes in Final Fantasy again with FF7 Remake and now 16.

That scene of the blades actually clashing each other is a good sign of the combat to me: realistic but still has the fantasy aspects.

Also, I hope the screen when in combat won’t be so full of stuff, I want to be able to SEE the game.

So basically a Final Fantasy character-action game? I’ll take it. Combat looks great, just hope it’s as fluid and responsive as it looks. Story seems very interesting as well, which is something I haven’t said in a long time about any Final Fantasy game. A year isn’t that bad of a wait. Gives me time to graduate from college and beef up my PC in anticipation.

The character designs are giving me major FFXII vibes, which is very cool. I loved XII, it’s very underrated.

Looks like a bunch of effects, cool for a trailer, but i’m curious about the actual game.

Anyone who has mixed feelings and not know who Yoshi-P is have no clue how great this game will be.
