Do you agree with my list? Which is the hardest Final Fantasy boss you have beaten?
I think maybe you should consider a version of this list without optional/superbosses; they’re intended to be tricky, and it’s much more interesting to me when a story boss e.g. Demon Wall from FF7, Yunalesca from FF10 represents a massive jump in difficulty out of nowhere that you are forced to deal with if you want to continue the game. All the same, great video!
FFV : Famed Mimic Gogo
if you’re going to include iron giant for FF-III you gotta include Omega MKII for FF-V
The whole GeraruTaru channel condensed in a singke video
5:00 although for Omega, there are multiple ways to cheese Omega. Two hasted characters with Sing and Romeo’s Ballad will usually keep Omega unable to act, and two others with RapidFire will cut his HP down (Thundaga Spellblade+ Rapid Fire for a 2-3 turn fight).
Brute forcing Omega is definitely the hardest due to the ton of status effects it throws out (compared to Shinryu). But if you have the tools you can down Omega but struggle against Neo ExDeath (primarily because you can take Omega at levels NED will one shot the party)
Why no FF X-2?
I know it wasn’t the best instalment and we wanna forget about it. But alas it does deserve a mention
I personally think Emerald is harder than Ruby. Just because there’s ways to cheese the Ruby fight, and the only real advantage you can give yourself going into Emerald weapon is removing the timer. At least in my experience.
NAH, beat ultima first try, that damn serpent at the end of Rising Tide took over an hour!
Ff11 absolute virtue period, nothing come close to it.
Both Emerald and Ruby Weapon are easy enough to Nerf.
With Emerald: if you go in with 9999 HP and only two materia equipped, the Aire Tam Storm will trigger the All Lucky 7s effect.
With Ruby, he is vulnerable to Stop, and a combo of W-Summon, KOTR, and Mime will make quick work of him. You can also go in with two characters dead and then revive them so you have a full party.
I would say Ruby is the easier battle since you can do it at a much lower level and do not need to sacrifice the big prize in materia growth to do it.
You’re 100% right about Brachiosaur. Kefka’s final form is a very cool battle but it’s not really that hard and not complex at all if you’re prepared. But the Brachiosaurs are so swingy and relentless that even when you’re ready for them they’re not simple.
Emerald Weapon feels scarier purely for the fact that you can accidentally encounter it… I’ve had times when I’ve left the sunken Gelnika plane only for it to be right there 😱 Ruby Weapon is probably the toughest out of the two though 😊
Omega weapon is bullshit. Why it’s such an amazing boss.
For 12 its yiazmat. You can use a summon cant recall which one off the top of my head but it will insta kill like 2 of them. I admit it was difficult before i learned about this. However i couldnt beat yiazmat until they patched the job reset in and could use yagyu as well as debuffs and buffs i was missing. I cleared all tower floors with no proper planning just what i made my characters and the gear i gathered(stole).
Vercingetorix?
Absolute Virtue hasn’t been exactly hard since 2013, increased caps, job levels, and trust. It’s also been nerfed for awhile before then. Arguably Pandemonium Warden we even harder and nearly caused people to die. FFXI honestly has even harder bosses now than this tbh. Absolute Virtue is just maybe the one who make lists go for because of no real knowledge on the game and go for notoriety from FFWiki’s listing, or have kind of not played in 15 years. @_@
Well, as far as ff7 goes, I killed emerald weapon before but never killed ruby. In fact I killed all the first 8 on the list (havent beat 9 or onward) except ruby. I probably didnt exactly give it my all on 7. Omega in both 5 & 8 felt like the most difficult to me, even though they couldnt be more different. The only thing they have in common is their name and they will kill you in one turn if you arent ready no matter if your max level or not. In fact ive been told Omega is even more powerful in 8 if you are max leveled, which i can not believe is possible.
7:40 Both Emerald and Ruby are gimmick bosses. Emerald because the real threat from Emerald is only present if you equip a bunch of materia and it is thus easy with a high level party with very little materia equipped. Ruby is because it is not immune to paralysis…which means it can be beaten with no retaliation by throwing Dazers at it every 18-ish seconds.
You should rank them easiest to hardest
I don’t understand any of the commentary on FF16. Even in your video clip, you errored and barely took damage, which was my experience. I died 5 times in total in that entire game, and 3 were on the first level 50 rank red dragon thing. That game is easily one of the easiest in the series…
how is penance hard? You set up and then its just keeping the hands down and attack the body, You cant die here and just spam quick hit. Just being long doesnt make it a hard fight. The dark aeons are way more tough
As a ff14 day 1 player na bro it was the Alexander faust savage fight. That raid broke so many raid groups. It was nearly impossible unless you were in the top 1% raid groups or you waited till they nerfed it.
Omega ff8 was super easy
Clicked this video just cause the guy’s name is fuzzfinger
Hardest FF IV,mini boss,is the Mind though the rewards were really dismal and you didn’t get anything special from it.
it would be interesting too would which of the 16 super bosses is the most hardest!
Team ruby
Omega (FF8) was so absurd, ultimecia is kind of a wash compared to it IMO
Yiazmath is just long luckily
And Ultima in 16 the hardest part is how freaking hyped you are even after like an hour
7:00 it would be a cool test if a glitch allowse you too make simulation of a ruby v emerald fight. Maybe it would be more realistic if it would be 3 ruby v 3 emerald because of rubys special attack.
The worst boss is random rule in ff8
To be fair, I beat Omega Weapon in FFVIII second try, got the Lionheart finisher twice in a row, but Squall was the only one alive. So yes it’s technically the hardest boss, but with quick enough reflexes and good luck, it’s winnable in 2 moves. Ultimecia is only difficult because you don’t get to choose a party, so you have to grind magic and GFs and spread it evenly amongst all, or pick three and hope you can get those without having to kill off too many party members
Brachiosaur is a random encounter, not a boss, he can be fought multiple times
Blood sword trivializes the fight against emperor
PIXEL DEMASTER DETECTED: DOWNVOTED.
If we are just talking the original release of FF12, Yiazmat will take the hardest boss in FF12. Btw I felt Yiazmat was a test of endurance if you plan to beat it without having any pause to save and gambits off on the one you’re controlling. I done it back in late 2000’s.
“Other lists are iffy” yet you began with Warmech, an enemy I was able to one shot just yesterday the first time I fought it…
You titled this video hardest bosses and then included several that are not bosses making your list bullshit. You did use the term encounter at one point and that’s what the video should be titled.
Hardest boss in every game, then proceeds to a random encounter mon..
I had a harder time with Leviathan than Ultima when playing 16. Mainly because of that timer.
FF6 Dragons Den has a ton of fights harder than Brachiosaur. I figured that Kaiser Dragon, or Omega Weapon would have been your choice. If you put the Judges from FF12 trial mode on here, why not put the Dragons Den bosses on as well?
I completely disagree with ff16 ultima/ultimalius. If you’re excluding dlc i’d say the hardest boss is probably Bahamut Odin or even the level 50 (100) dragon hunt. If you’re counting dlc however then the hardest boss difficulty wise (not time wise) would be Leviathan followed by the shiva paladin on top of the frozen dungeon and then Omega. Omega has lots of bullet hell but overall is far less punishing in his fight, Shiva’s paladin hits hard is arguably harder to read than omega and relies on your ability to show restraint in your combos as he doesn’t sit around in between attacks like alot of other bosses. Leviathan hands down is the hardest boss fight due to the nature of it being a 4 stage boss with limited resources. (yes you could die in between phases but the phases you respawn at also happen to be heavy on resource usage.
Edit: Just finished watching your explanation and i’m honestly confused if i fought a nerfed version of him now because ultima was incredibly fast to take down and i will fully admit i’m not great at the game, pretty average overall but i don’t recall even using any healing on his fight.
The Emperor’s self-healing… one good power Blink, and the Emperor isn’t hitting you ever. And the rest of his moveset is no problem because enemy magic in FF2 just doesn’t scale well in the endgame, level 16 magic hitting for 160 HP when multitargeted is just kek. Flare XVI is the most damaging magic enemies can use, and it hits for 900 in ST, tops.
Also how the feck did Cure XVI heal only 100 HP, even with Curse, it should’ve healed a lot more (plus how long exactly do you have to grind to get Cure XVI).
EDIT: Also the Emperor is probably not the hardest boss. That’s either Lamia Queen (because Charm IX is a very good way to get your team to kill itself if you don’t have a high level Basuna, while Blink XVI means you’re not hitting her with weapons ever once she does it), or Phrekyos Lv.2 (because hugeass wall of stats at the point you can fight it, you no longer have Minwu to carry you through it, plus level 2 Phrekyos loves spamming Glare V to petrify you, and I can guarantee you don’t have high level Esuna to deal with it yet).
Great video, I’d have preferred both the hardest optional boss as well as the hardest storyline boss, I think that would have been interesting. Perhaps in another video?
Anyone who says Ultimecia was the hardest boss in FF8 definitely never beat Omega Weapon
You know what would be interesting, might be a bit off topic, would be to see how if some of the bosses were pit against each other. Like, I’d like to see Ozma go against Emerald weapon or Omega. Just a thought.
What is this 16 nonsense? X was the last Final Fantasy game they ever made
The judges FF12 and FF16 Ultima were not the hardest fights in those games.
Surprised you played the DS remake of 3 and not 4
10:40 What are you talking about? summoning Yojimbo was super easy, barely an inconvenience.
The hardest boss in final fantasy 15 was MA-X Angelus before the dlc for Omega. MA-X Angelus wipes out your party like nothing and is the hardest to farm MKSuit2. The Turtle is just a waste of time and cannot land a hit on anyone.
There are so many harder bosses than Barthandelus in FF13 though? Long Gui, Vercingetorix, most other late game hunts…
Id say zodiark for 12. I spent over an hr fighting him. I wasn’t capped though.
Another great video great content
Most annoying Boss in XIV is Disconnect 😋
I thought FF4s Brachioraidos was the GBA remake’s superboss?
Jls yazmat lbh ssh kocak
Ozma sm hades lbh ssh hades
Ff 7 lbh ssh sephiroth
Yg bikin ssh apa? Naikin statusnya
Emperor mah gampang
Warmech itu ga ada di ff 1 ps gtw kalo psp. Psp kyknya ada
Warmech itu bkn bos dan opsional bos
Zeremos is objectively not the hardest boss in IV
I will have to criticize some stuff about the list, since FF1 and 6 entries are not considered superbosses, and therefore should not be on the list(even if they’re harder than bosses themselves). Also using Iron Giant from FF3 3D and FF12’s TZA/IZJS stage 100 is kind of cheap when most early games(1-6) have way harder bosses on some of their remasters(Chronodia in FF1, Deumion in FF2, that one FF4 NG+ hidden superboss, omega mk2/neo shinryu in FF5 and Kaiser Dragon/Omega weapon in FF6). Other than that, on the other entries I do agree with the list! Cheers.
Edit: Actually for FF16 I’ll have to say Svarog felt harder than all of Ultima battles. But damn Ultima was epic. If we did include DLC then Leviathan’s Eikon fight was hell lol
I thought ff16’s hardest was bahaumut
Ahhh for ME it is definitely “Omega” from FF5, namely because of his RNG AND the FACT there is ONLY ONE WAY you can REALLY Damage him efficiently. I haven’t seen any the bosses beyond FFX yet though so yeah.
You are a grown ass man, and those pinchable cheeks are un freakin’ fair.
Save some ladies for the rest of us, will ya?
The worst boss in ffIX is jump rope.
I found a couple of your list different from mine, although I never did any superbosses so here’s my hardest boss from all the games I played.
1, the 4 mindflayers cheat boss
2, the final boss
3, the mini rat boss
4, I personally found the final boss a joke and never died to it and I played the pixel and 3d version, the hardest boss for me was the scientist guy with his Frankenstein
4, the after years, the double magic boss
5, neo ex death
6, ultima weapon
7, the robot that grabs your people and gets rid of them
7, remake, the motorcycle boss
7, rebirth, final sephiroth phase
8, the first boss you fight in final dungeon
9, necrom
10, braskas final aeon
11, I only played original game, shadow lord
12, the final boss
13, the boss in the forest with bulb that has the violent spin attack.
13-2, the man made falcie
13, lightning returns final boss.
15, the robot at the end of the first map.
16, leviathan by far, I never died to ultima and found him a easy fight and I wish it was harder.
Type 0, the final fight before the world ends with the flying robot
Crystal chronicles, the final boss, that boss took me 4 and a half hours to beat and is the longest video game boss I ever did
Stranger of paradise, the second emperor fight in the third dlc, this is the hardest boss I ever fought in a final fantasy game, I literally quit for half a year, than came back and used cheats to be immortal just to win.
Dimensions, literally every boss at the end of every chapter, dimensions has by far the hardest bosses in average.
World of ff, random fire dragon in that one mountain map.
Tactics, wiegraf/belias
Anyone else spent 4 and a half hours on Crystal chronicles final boss, I really dislike it and is the worst boss I ever fought.
12:30 if I recall correctly, Absolute Virtue was actually broken because the strategy S-E had blessed actually only worked if you executed it from their office because the ping times anywhere else were too high to react to specific attacks 😂
Omega Weapon is extremely easy because of his FIXED Attack Pattern, Emerald Weapon just HITS HARD and has LOWER DEF and MAG DEF. Ruby Weapon HAS HIGHER DEF and MAG DEF, and ONE weakness which is PARALYSIS. GUMBALL, we ALL REMEMBER! GUMBALL: Like THIS? *CURAGAS itself FOLLOWING UP with CURSE/METEOR ALL in the SAME TURN totally ANNIHILATING the TEAM*
Eiko: SAYS YOU! REBIRTH FLAME!!
Those other enemies like Brachiosaur and Omega, there’s ways around them.
I like a lot of your list. I would say your kind of wrong about ff5 and ff7. Entirely wrong on ff6 and ff4. If your gonna use iron giant from ff3 ds than you gotta use the other bosses in ff4 and ff6
Man in FFXVI, I found Svarog an asbolute nightmare on my first playthrough. I’d rank him higher than Ultima haha.
Personally, Ruby. Toe-to-toe with Ruby is a Death Sentence. At the time i was around 13 years old. Just couldn’t do it. Now there are plenty of resources. Let’s not forget the reqard “Desert Rose” which gives a punk ass Gold Chocobo not worth keeping!!
What about maybe the dragon shinryu in FFV? I haven’t beaten either mind. Ruby weapons a beast in FFVII it took me ages getting ready to take him on 👍
Team Emerald. Ruby can be cheesed a few ways even at lower level.
Fuzz gotta pay that new mortgage off lol.
Saying, that in FF5 Omega is the hardest without mentioning Shinryu is just wrong. I find him harder than Omega.
Hardest Boss in FFVI is Wrexsoul – If you didn’t have a guide and were playing the OG SNES version, the method to winning that one was so vague. Of course, you could also just x-zone and call it a day.
When it comes to the judges, I fought the law and the law won.
Gosh, I miss my FF record keeper
I’m guna have to disagree with your ff13 pick mission 64 the doom herald is far tougher because it has a shield making it invulnerable while at the same time healing its self huge amounts of health when it drops to 9 mil of health it uses wicked whirl wind with can be devastating and he can also de buff you
