Man I will never get over how intense this fight was. I play FF14 so i gasped when the bit of 14 omega’s theme was present. I had two friends who did this fight watching me do this fight and they were cheering me on. The AOE patterns I laughed while dodging cuz it brought ff14 raids to mind. It weirdly felt like 14 raids trained me for this fight. But nothing beat that last push to beat Omega. It was a literal LOCK THE HELL IN moment. I barely blinked and by some freakin miracle won my first try. Even my friends watching were in awe that I survived. Apparently they weren’t as lucky and applauded my win.

This expansion content was so awesome, mysterious and absolutely epic with the final Omega fight.

Clive, my boy, my buddy. If ever there was a good time to prime, it would be now.

To be fair, as much of a banger as this track is, I don’t really think it suits XVI specifically.
The reason, is because the theme from XIV carries the weight of motifs from Azys Lla and such, which honestly make no sense in this context, and turn this otherwise magnificent battle into another game’s reference.

Actually, it’d be freaking amazing to listen to this on TOP (The Omega Protocol) instead, since Ultimate raids occasionally get new remixes and arrangements of which I was missing some much after TEA.

This is the only challenging fight in the entire game. Leviathan and Ultima were jokes compared to this guy. It’s still not difficult, I had to apply only like 20% more effort.

While this is definitely a motif of eScape, I’m a little sad I can barely hear Lenna’s theme motif from FFV around the chorus.

At some point during the final damage check i just said screw it, stopped even attempting to dodge, and started spraying and praying that itd be enough damage.

Eden/Pandaemonium style music. There’s something fundamentally different how Soken does sound design in XIV vs XVI, but XVI bangers nonetheless make me highly anticipate Dawntrail music.

As great and fun as this fight was…..I wish in the end it came down to a full powered version of Omega vs. Ifrit. But i still really enjoyed the fight.

When I realized Omega’s leitmotif was playing as I climbed the Spire, I actually said out loud “Soken, you mad genius.” Then this song played and I smiled through most of the fight.

Since you’ve played this boss fight a couple of times, if someone were to do this fight with no damage taken, would wings of light be very powerful for this fight given omega’s attacks?
