Are you enjoying Final Fantasy 16? Is it is good as the reviews? (In your opinion)
My fav ff is 15 tbh. wish the world had more life tho
“This video is spoiler-free as possible” *30 seconds later spoils you go to a second hideout while showing tons of monsters and abilities*
#1 mistake is playing ff16 in the first place
“Chairen” lmao
I love that everyone is smoking in this game.
Huge FF fan. FFX is my favorite game all time. I played 15, didn’t finish. I played FF7 Remake and Rebirth both completed. Now I’m on FF16
I like to just press square
Complex shitty story and woke filled bullshit…. Can’t really call it a game.
id avoid side questing period man. its literally so bad in this game. The main plot is awesome and I am not even joking I literally fall asleep when I start side questing. It is so monotonous and boring, it BARELY ever adds to the main story. The gear is usually locked behind hunts too so side questing really is just so irrelevant it blows my mind
Ohh I don’t know wth plus icon meant. Thanks!
Easiest FF game to play, yet the most epic I’d say
Kind of needless tips.
Only thing that matters – get the chocobo
here’s one: During my gameplay, I noticed that for certain abilities you could repeatedly tap the attack button to extend how long that ability lasts for. an example is Gouge.
however, i found that most times I was punished for doing this. Do not extend those abilities unless the target is staggered or is easily knocked back.
thsi games nice.. but its so eassy.. theres no need to grind..
10/10
using accesibility accesories is gross, these are for disabled people that have no full hand functionality
I disagree with one aspect of grinding: the ability points. once you get later on into the game you’ll find out you don’t have enough to upgrade and master the abilities you want to use with the eikon slots, so grinding out the ability points whenever you can is a must. EXP and gil don’t matter that much at all compared to ability points
This game looks dopeeee
Can’t think of a single final fantasy that you “have to grind”
I tried ……but I have my limits the game started throwing tons of boring side quest specially after the amazing story boss fights I was bored to dead…so just doing the story from now on ….
Just avoid.
Of the final fantasy games I played, I only felt like I needed to grind in ff8 and ff12 zodiac age. In ff8 the fights with raijin and Fujin were always rough when I got to them unless I went and grind a little. I never figured out the eqp element status that allows you to do elemental damage though. It was greyed out my entire play through. Ff12 I did all the hunts and so it took grinding to prepare for the later ones.
Ff16 feels more like Devil may cry than the standard ff games. I still love it. Great story, graphics, use of the entire controller scheme for attacks and specials. I still appreciate jrpgs and turn based style as well. Square Enix should make both versions moving forward. I like both! I will say that I miss the old mythical summons from previous entries with their cinematic flare and major damage when called upon.
Just keep saying uh a bunch of times, that’s useful. Practice what youre gonna say before you record
You can do mistakes in this very simple game?
I wish I had found this video before beating the game. Combat was way too difficult for me and I had no idea about the rings going in. I spent so many hours dying and trying to get through various bosses and that could have definitely helped out. I think I’m going to delete my save and start over and use those so I can actually enjoy my time with the game this time lol.
Love the game but sad there’s no crazy secrets
I feel like the last one with Torgal isn’t really accurate the ring makes Torgal attack the same enemy you do. without the ring he still heals and attacks all the enemies
Lol ive done absolutely none of these but i did complete all sidequest n bounties but i wish i knew about these tips it would have saved me sooo much time
This game is like a Mashup of assassins creed and God of War with a ff title. I’m not a fan of this at all. Non open world ff game is… Just not a ff game.
To be honest i just fight everything i see and don’t miss fights or run past……I am trying to take those Assist rings off but will keep the pet one on….I find the game fairly easy with those….The 1st fight i had with that Titan guy…..Only got hit a few times through the hole fight
Most of the time you craft +1 weapons so buying the base weapon is just a waste of gil.
Weapons on this came sucks!!! Past FF were better and more fun to have and craft.
When you trouble completing a hunt because enemy too strong. Move on with storyline and come back again with bigger team like joshua and Jill to help defeat hunt.
I don’t think this guy ever played Final Fantasy to be honest I think he took notes and summarized what he watched because nobody who is seriously a final fantasy player would ever say it’s a grind 🤣😂 unless it’s the super hard final boss, which I only found in one of the Final Fantasy series to be honest
Destroy everything that comes on the screen always. This is the way
The ring of timely strikes also commands Torgal to attack, better to use that in early game as it also automatically uses certain powers when openings occur vs enemies
I enjoy the gring
Anyone else annoyed that the Lightning abilities all have a big windup and are super slow? Like lightning should be quick not slow as shit >_<
Disagree on “wasting points”. You can respec at any time all the time if you want. Spend them.
Tbh I like grinding especially in final fantasy games because you have those high story moments in the main mission that you can focus on and FF always goes ham with the cutscenes. But when it comes time to grind, you can always turn on YouTube on your phone or something and watch/listen to a MrBallen video or something while you grind. I personally listen to Ballen or Aba & Preach 😂
It’s really fun and always leaves me in maximum chill mode
As a avid ff fan. This is the least grindy ff I’ve ever played. I’m overleveled by 5 levels from just doing the hunts and clearing the areas I pass through. No bonus exp either. 😂
But togle does that already.
the only grinding I’ve done was the grind you do from the side quests and hunts and getting the shit that attacks you on the way to the objective out of the way.
An enemy’s stagger multiplier goes up mainly by the amount of stagger damage an ability does
Shiva’s Diamond dust is notorious for instantly maxing the multiplier on larger enemies, so using Garuda abilities/abilities that hit fast+often isn’t always the best option if you’re looking to maximize the multiplier in the shortest amount of time
Is there a ring to trigger your abilities automatically
Who is CH-aron? lol
You know the voice actors don’t pronounce her name like that, right?
You can always reset the ability points. So, just use them all on the skill you want.
Got to love a video being passed off as tips and tricks. When it’s just a list of 5 common sense topics you figure out through osmosis in the first ten hours of gameplay! Great job, so informative! Thanks for not waisting my time. But you got you got your watch time In that’s all that matters right?
Actually i think the stagger multiplier gets bigger with attacks that deal more stagger damage, not necessarily more hits
Very informative. Need some clarification regarding The Ring of Timely Assistance. I quite liked to have this on so I wouldn’t have to get distracted by manually switching and pressing the pet command button. However I noticed when I had it on at times the shortcuts would switch between Potions and Pet on its own without me noticing and use up potions when I didn’t want to so do. Next thing I knew was I had less potions in stock and this was concerning. Also when I thought I switched to Pet shortcuts it switched to Potions shortcuts so when I thought I was commanding Torgal I was actually using up potions. What can I do to avoid this or is it that that is how it works. I’m playing on Story Mode BTW.
I really like this game but it’s like an action game using FF lore
I miss the days of casting cure or protect etc
Ive never felt like i needed to grind a lot in a ff game.
Best tip: push square a lot until cutscene and then walk to the next push square a lot for the cutscene. Rinse and repeat.
The “don’t craft gear” warning is honestly unessecary. I was swimming in materials and that was after crafting every weapon and armour piece, including pieces I actually didn’t need as my gear was already better.
I’ve been pretty stingy on my playtrough I just used the swords upgrades when I beat a new ikon didn’t buy it craft any of the others now on new game plus I kinda want to has anyone crafted everything and can confirm or deny that the game gives you all the material necessary for every item or do you run out
I always have timely assistance on too because having to manage everything on the battlefield takes a ton of my attention just like you said. Hunts are recommended as well since a good amount of equipment requires resources from hunted marks to make at the blacksmith. I also found out that some potions can be farmed by fast traveling between regions like the town in the continent of Ash, you can find high potion next to the pregnant lady’s house and a potion near the gate that is close to that house.
There is no Final Fantasy where you have to grind to beat the game. 3 is really hard if you don’t grind, but it’s just a challenge, not required grinding. It’s all about bringing the proper strategy and decision making, that’s what’s exciting about turn-based games, especially when there’s an ATB system like the vast majority of Final Fantasy games. That’s what makes it my favorite genre.
The crafting is damn near non existent in this game compared to previous titles in the series, in terms of challenge this game also doesn’t really give much of a challenge if at all S rank hunts feel not much more difficult than a C or B rank fight, my first S rank was atlas and I beat it on the first try, there wasn’t a single boss that I remotely struggled with, the game isn’t bad it just feels spoon fed like someones holding my hand through the entirety of it. Maybe NG+ final fantasy mode will be better but do I seriously want to play another 40-60 hours of gameplay ? Not really
Why are you pronouncing the P as an F 😂
Don’t grind, just get gud scrub! Lol.
Final Fantasy games are easy. never had to grind just to beat the game. Y’all just be saying anything
Also the higher level you are the easier time. You’ll have with beating bosses. Since you’ll be able to take more hits and damage. I did almost every side quest. So I’m almost level 50 and near the end of the game.
You can always just unlearn any skills you’ve moved on from 🤔
You no longer use that [INSERT SKILL NAME] that you mastered out a couple days ago? Just have a sudden case of amnesia and get those points back and put them into something else! 😉👍
Hey how do you change your color in the menu from blue to red I want a red settings instead of blue settings how do you do that and is there away if so where can I find it in the settings
DID YOU KNOW……
If you buy aa 10,000 dollar round for everyone in hideaway 2 right before a cutscene, everyone will be drunk or drinking for said cutscene
I have pretty bad reflexes seeing as im in my 40s so timely focus was a godsend for me. Still gives me the agency of dodging attacks myself while helping me out with the timing. And i agree controlling Torgal manually is a pain. I used both of those rings the entire playthrough and it still gave me a free accessory slot i can use with the plethora of enhancements accesories.
I also highly recommend doing side quest as they become available. If you wait to do them you can end up with way too many littered everywhere making it confusing tedious and sluggish to get through them. They are also written to be immediately relevant to what’s happening in the story so waiting to do them can also clash with the tone of what the writters were going for. If you are going to do them save yourself the headache and do them as they become available.
Ring of timely assistance is included with ring of timely strikes. Very useful in early game. Both equipped cancel each other out. GG’s
Lot of bad info here in my opinion. Firstly, your best equipment comes from crafting and if you do the side quests, pick up the items littered everywhere, and open chests you will have more crafting pieces than you can use during the initial playthrough. Second, invest points into skills whenever you want, master whatever you want whenever you want, you can refund every point of AP you spend as long as you are not in combat.
Buying/crafting weapons uses the exact same materials wether you buy or craft
I feel like since the massive success of elden ring every action title is trying to copy a lot of the gameplay and open world aspects from the game. First the harry potter game did it and now this game as well. Heck even that recent kirby game for switch did it too lol.
I might be in the minority but I like to grind but hate when you have to grind for gear or items that are rng based
There hasn’t been a single Final Fantasy, where you can enjoy the story, but also have to grind. That’s a misconception and your first point is already invalid.
Esper skill mastery is only required for a single trophy where you have too use all of garudas 3 skills on an enemy without touching the ground. So you have to master 1 of the 3 to get that
I don’t know what kind of games you usually play but I’m betting rpgs aren’t among them. Grinding is never required in ff games you can literally just play through. A stat benefit is always the benefit of grinding levels while waiting to unlock gear. Maxing skills is always a grind not necessary, but does strengthen you above normal levels which allow you to take on hard hunts or do harder strength based evens early… there was a bunch of terrible advice in this video. .. sorry.
There’s only one FF where you can actually make a mistake that costs you the game and that’s Final Fantasy Tactics.
Most notably, Riovannes Castle
All Im going to say is… Ring of Timely Evasion AT ALL TIMES. Its basically ff16 on very easy mode lol also its easier to weave all of your attacks with yourself and Torgal without having to worry about defense much. Also use raging fists as a replacement for Garuda’s “Gouge.” Your welcome.
💯
Mastering an ability is huge… in almost every instance, it changes the ability (for the better)!
I greatly advise some additional grinding, and mastering abilities earlier and giving yourself an advantage!
For trophy hunters grinding IS required, you have to max out all the abilities and Eikons and even with two playthroughs it won’t be enough AP without grinding for awhile.
This game is fucking garbage!
If you haven’t tried it yet, you should try ball lightning it is great for combos and stunning guys out. one of my favorite spells in the game. So far when a guy is staggered, throw that on him then use gigaflare. It will melt guys. I’ve had over 100,000 in stagger combo already using it.
Top tier advice: pet the dog 5 times
I completely disagree about crafting, I had such a surplus of materials going through the game it was actually easier to craft new stuff rather than wasting the Gil also there are certain gear you can only obtain through crafting.
What about limit break?
Bro the ring is so upsetting honestly. I really don’t like controlling torgal. I have so many abilities that I want to use and combo and I hate that I have to use a ring for him to be useful. I think Torgal AI should be a toggle setting. Not an entire slot that I lose for the games length
Omfg I sold stormcry 😅😅😅
What is a good area to grind for AP?
Is it possible to die? I’ve never seen a game over screen
yeah… what more do you need for bland gameplay… nothing it is exactly that
Staggaa the enemies. Just staggaa!
I have those rings on. they are cool.
Black Smith weapons are stronger than purchasing them from Charon
I am super lazy and use the Ring of Timely strikes. I believe it says that this controls Torgal as well.
I think the only thing I disagree with is the ‘dont craft’ in early game. I constantly found myself having an abundance of crafting materials. They just throw them at you constantly with little use for them so I had no problem crafting/getting the +2 weapons in early game without having to buy anything from Charon. I didnt do any grinding at all for materials at any point in the game and the only time I spent gil on materials was to craft excalibur.
– I mean, you dont have to grind at all in any FF past 7 to progress the story alone (idk about earlier ones since it was ages since i played them). Its the extra content that requires grinding and leveling. But ye – here is same 🙂
– you cant “waste” ability points really, you can respec/reset every ability for free. And since you can only equip 6 skills + 3 extra for circle button you can easily test and flow these points back where you want them. Thats why at the end of game i was sitting on 50k ability points :V
– Youll get materials for wepons almost every story boss in game. Except few end game weapons that are quest unlockable, bothering with crafting sword that gonna add you 10 attack for 1 hour before you get item to craft from story boss. Very often i find blacksmith having new recipes, i go there and – the new recipe is worse item than i got from story boss 2h earlier… whats up with that?
– Side quest with “+” icons are the ones that unlock stuff. Rest are nice lore stories but rewards are not really good
– nice tips for combat 🙂
Yet you’re wrong because Excalibur exists in the game and it’s strongest outta all the swords 236 damage but if you add something to it it’ll be 363
Disagree with 1 and 2 hehe
Older games are so much better than ff xvi played them all but 11. Very disappointing. Best part of the game are your posts.
Yep, grinding isnt necessary. I was able to beat bounties 5-8 levels higher than me in one go. But I still grind just cause the combat is addicting. lol
1. You can reset your abilities at any time if you want to redo them
2. You should craft the weapons, not buy them, because when you craft them they are already +1, and you only need to upgrade them once. if you buy them, you have to spend resources to upgrade them TWICE
The missable side quests are honestly pointless they give next to nothing it’s not until you get to the point where you lose them that quest give something useful
great tips!
i found crafting is useless as chocolate fire guard
To me, there is a pretty optimal set of abilities in terms of staggering enemies in the early to mid game. Heat wave is almost a 50% stagger and a defensive ability, it’s too good not to use. Gouge and garuda power are indispensable. Typically, when you Heatwave reflect a spell and chunk their stagger they’ll be vulnerable to garuda’s power, you can sort of mini stun them with it and then you can Gouge and it pretty much completes the stagger for an easy near full stagger combo. That frees the rest of your ability slots up to go full damage with Judgement bolt, a huge phoenix heal, or whatever.
I’ve been using heatwave/rebirth, gouge/titan slam, thunderbolt/judgment bolt with the phoenix, titan, and garuda aspects. Dash, stun/pull, block/counter are extremely efficient in terms of stagger and utility.
Craft weapons are better and the material is easier to get don’t see how that was a tip you can’t really mess up in this game I say just play it without vids like this
The ability points are not that important considering you can respec at any point free of any cost.
The grind is the best part though
You spent the first 2 minutes of this video explaining why you shouldn’t have made this video. You’re very obviously not an rpg gamer and your playstyle isn’t gonna help anybody.
Why would you pronounce her name as “Chair on”?! They literally pronounce it as “Karen” in the game…. like it’s not a debate
I’m glad they gave us the ability to respawn potions and enemies. I love grinding in RPG’s.
In the mainline series, you never had to grind really. Many people grind because it can be fun to be op and just dominate things.
Great video, really helped me out thanks!
If you want the platinum trophy you need to do some grinding as you need enough AP to upgrade everything on the skill tree. You won’t get that even through New Game+ without grinding.
Man said he dont like to grind lol. Games used to be all about the grind
If you’re going and telling people that they should not master their abilities and spend those ability points elsewhere all I can say are that you are not a seasoned gamer for this type of a action game and do not have full concept of the combo system that you are able to utilize in this game… once you find the three Eikons that you want to keep based on their particular movesets you use you want to master those eyes you can combine them together to help unleash massive combos… with massive damage output and you won’t need to keep spamming the L2 button just to get two which ones you want at said time.
If anybody wants to know about the mastering of these abilities and how you can become OP and have serious stagger damage output talk to me don’t listen to this guy just a few minutes and he’s already got ideals that are going to stop you from being able to reach your Clives fullest potential to your gameplay Style
You do realize, every rpg limits available gear based on level and story progression. Like thats how it works. Hence raising your level to gain an upper hand so youre not struggling against a boss the same level as you.
I bought the dual sense controller and mapped the left back paddle to Sic for torgal and just spam the shit out of it every fight. Better than using the ring imho
gonna be honest the only thing im not likeing so far is ther is no FOV slider i can only play for a couple hrs before i get crossed eyed
Thats good to know about the mastering abilities, I might’ve mastered one skill before knowing that.
@SMandrell was right. This video stands out online. Great content.
I dunno why you think you have to grind in FF but… No. You only have to grind for post game, secret boss stuff.
Every main FF can and is designed to be completed just fighting whatever you find and never stop grinding.
I accidentally sold storm cry anyone know if there is a way to buy it back or if I can get it again in new game +
I have played all FF games outside of 2,3 and 5 and I have never once felt the need to grind. Only during post game content. I have no idea what people are doing when they play. These games are all very easy to get through. Even 8 disincentives you to grind as enemies level up with you.
Didn’t watch a single review. Played the demo, loved the game knew I was going to buy it.
Idk which FF’s you’ve played before, but you don’t have to grind for the vast majority of them unless you’re doing superbosses.
0:25 “You have to grind in Final Fantasy games”
FF6 can be finished at around level 30, which you’d usually get there organically before World of Ruin. They even give you an option to skip EVERY random battle.
FF7 cares more about where your gear and materia is than levels. Once you’ve focused on a set it’s usually mastered by the time you really need it.
FF8 lets you skip random battles and, again, more about Gear and GF setups.
FF15 can most definitely be finished comfortably without doing many side quests, much less dedicated grinding.
To save me going every game I remember, it is NOT required. Does it make it EASIER? Yeah, that’s the point.
Those are the words of someone who hasn’t played them
Embrace the grind and dont whine about as you not a true Rpger if ya cant grind . And pre order get exp an gil boost at start . Wow just wow
So each attack you have to weave in magic and Torgal. Yep it’s double weaving from ff14.
Clickbait as usual
Doggo!! 😀
I wuv him :3
that game really takes its damn time to give you stuff… 30% through the story and i still feel like i am waiting for it to open up.
The lack of grinding really makes this game less fun and not really a good FF game. Also the story isnt that great, you know what’s going to happen way before it does.
Mmm to tell the truth in the ff there was never a need to grind unless you want to face the hidden/side bosses. Only in VII did I happen to have to do a couple more levels for the last boss
You don’t have to grind at all level wise The game puts most enemies and especially the bosses at your level by doing side questions and this and that you can go one or two levels higher but the game pretty much match you
I remember grinding 20000+ skill points from the soldiers just outside of the castle just before where the combat demo started (before benedikta quest),
Legit 60+ AP every 2-3 mins😂
Was grinding hard & maxing my combat & phoenix abilities (including flame of rebirth) & i’m not even unlocking Garuda yet, then proceed maxing Garuda Aerial Blast (after that eikon battle), it was total chaos 😂😂😂
*_Soulsborne player_*
I ike the garuda ult that thing has max stun, lasts forever , has a huge area coverage ,and it almost insta breaks the will gauge . I pop that, do basic sword combos until it breaks , limit break and bust through every other ability combo i have .
Standing O for avoiding spoilers. Subscribed
I disagree on mastery for 1 ability. Will o the wisps applied to Garuda is a perfect compliment to Gouge.
Mistake 1 is buying the game lol
Gotta say I’ve watched quite a few combat guides and none of them go over the importance of staggering and combing quickly. When you mentioned this it was an immediate light bulb in my brain and I can’t wait to make a build to exploit the hell out this.
So it’s best to just buy a new weapon and upgrade it as soon as available, rather than waiting to upgrade the story sword?
