Bosses would be fixed if they took out the one shot kills they like to put in for them. No one likes them in any game. You cant see half of the crap on the ground and if you do you have to know if where you standing out side of the circle or not. Cause you might be outside but the game says your not.

I am playing but the DEVS did nothing to improve the balance or synergy of the game. Who is on top….sorcee 4th season in a row, 1 druid build, 1 necromancer build, 2 shitter borne build…1 bumbarion build…rogues take in the ass as well as the classes that are basic oats, ie.basic druid/barbarian. As for synergy, why play with anyone. Power leveling and power gearing are for asshats who cant play the game. The game is okay for the 1st 3 weeks, then wait 2 months for the next season. If there were a different game, most would dump Diablo.

Yeah druid got royally screwed if you don’t play a core skill build or crow build. Ex. Claw storm or earth spike, got no love. To explain, shard of V has no chaos, but the puddle pumped gets the 2hdr, why over power, you take tge 2ndr put it in useless armor like legs or boots, now you can take another dps 2hdr with a enchant even 2 one hander.

This is enough to bring me back, but I’m also salty over the lack of Paladin situation and lack of actual Mephisto. I want to see the storyline move forward in a meaningful way, which is not really happening in seasons. How many seasons until we get to fight Diablo himself? 40?

I went back and played Diablo 3 Season 36 this last weekend. It is SOOO much more fun than any D4 season.

I have sat out the last two seasons, probably won’t take part in future seasons. If I play again I may just optimize a couple eternal realm characters, but I’m in no hurry. In D2 I never played ladders, in D3 I never did seasons, so D4 is the first game I’ve checked out seasons and they are not a big enough reason to play. There are too many other mechanisms and pain-points that make the game a drag. I’m essentially a ‘dad-gamer’ now and running bosses 500+ times waiting for an essential drop is just not a good time. I don’t like grinding anymore. I did it for years, no longer interested.

NO MORE SEASONS. Why do people like this? Why would I want to remake and re-level my character every few months and reacquire all my good gear that I already have? I don’t understand how this ever became attractive to players. It’s the epitome of laziness.

holy crap does that look bad. It’s almost sad, as someone who was fairly hardcore with diablo in general, i didnt even know the new season was close. what a laugh. Not playing, poe 2 is a way better game from a way better company.

So what happened to the reliquary changes?

I play in a weekly game night. 3-ish hours a week. Last game was poe2. While act 4 and the interludes were fun, not being able to skip content (act 1 thru 3) was a waste of time. Diablo 4 has a lot of faults but for casual players, they make a lot of good decisions.

But I fully understand that for those playing 20+ hours a week, the game just doesn’t have enough new stuff to peek their interest.

Chaos armours are going a lot of fun if you dare to not play a copy/paste meta build. I am looking forward to the new build diversity.

D4 haters dont know it but they dont actually hate d4. They hate themselves because all they know is, go online, find most meta broken build off youtube, copy paste it, one shot everything. Ive been playing since release. Some seasons are better than others. But as long as im doing my own builds, and actually trying to engage with mechanics instead of copy pasting, i enjoy the game a whole lot.

They should make chaos armor permanent and open new game plus to eternal realm with the option to enjoy the story. I don’t mind people rerolling a new toon but give us the option, the operative word being “option,” to enjoy the game in other ways as well with currently existing toons. I personally enjoyed the story and I know I’m not the only one.

Once again I’ll probably pass on this season. This time it’s because borderlands 4 just came out we got battlefield 6 next month and those two games alone will probably take me to the end of the year and then around December time grounded two is going to get there big next update. So I’ll probably be good for the next several months.

But my same issue with D4 has still been there after a thousand plus hours I have in that game. Until they stop just destroying the fun builds and I’m not talking about broken ass to your shit My classic example is the barbarian dust double build which was a solid atier build. It wasn’t too crazy overpowered in any direction It was just a solid fun build that could do every activity. Until they stop destroying these type of builds I don’t really want to play. I played the top five builds of every class that’s viable every single season and they’re not fun to me. I want a new fun build every single season but they don’t really want to let us have that. They specifically made the dust devil build for what season 4 or 5 whatever it was and then they killed it immediately off afterwards. It was so much fun. And that was the first season I full on went barbarian and I was so excited. A fun build is exciting to play on the new season but when there’s no more fun builds and they keep killing builds that are fun what’s the point. So until they stop doing that they have a really intriguing new season or most likely till the next character and DLC drop is the next time I’ll play D4

I remember making a rapid fire poison build in I believe season 6 before when season 7 when it got a buff and did super huge dmg. Looks like rapid fire could make a come back, now that it’s going to chaos armor I wander what would scale this to possibly do trillion rather than just billion . I think I’ll try to make it so I when shoot the rapid fire some aoe will go off when it hits the entire group and kill them much quicker. Not to sure how I will make it work. I ve even wanted to mess around with a fire ice rogue but still unsure if they have anything to actually scale the fire tho

One thing I got a question about where can I find good builds for enternal realm

If you don’t have overwhelming damage and play according to your difficulty level, this new boss shield mechanic just means you have +5 seconds more added to the wait time for each invulnerability phase. It’s not a good solution. They should just get rid of invulnerability phase if they are adding a damage check shield. I just can’t believe no one in this team of game developers thinking about these obvious problems. New system just makes it much worse for those who don’t have overwhelming damage but have enough sustain to slowly kill the boss, as it will only make those fights longer for them.

Scoundrel’s Kiss as Chaos Armour is fine and all but if they haven’t fixed Rapid Fire and the Scoundrel’s Kiss effect, this would be a waste of time. They went 2 seasons with RF bugged so it would be disappointing with yet another season it bugged.

I do like the game, but I’ll be honest: the game would be a lot better if they just scrapped and redid the entire passive system. try it for a season and then keep it 🙂

I am pretty sure I’ll be playing season 10. I usually start one or two weeks into the season and play for about a month. In that time i develop 1 or 2 characters until i feel progression stalled and then i quit till next season.

I tried PoE2 and really hated it. Not going back there ever.

Also tried LastEpoch, but the thought that i had to drag myself through that campain each season? No thank you, thats a nightmare i don’t need.

So yes, i am definitely looking forward to D4 season 10.

I will play Diablo again once they realize the error of their ways and do another revamp. They’ve been actively doing the opposite of what at least I want, so they’re not getting me anytime soon.

The game performance is terrible, the season powers boring. Bad bosses to kill, immunity. No love for the builds players want.
So no ty, done with that game. And the constant nerf, or buff each season is annoying. You never know if your favorite class is nuked or okay. The inconsistent class balance is one of the main reason i don’t play.

Soulspires is the worst gameplay option. So I hope it will still be the worst option.

Season 10 looks good and I kind of want to play… But competition for my game time is fierce right now. I’m still playing poe2, I’ve been away for a week and returning home today so I can finally start Borderlands 4… And in my week away I’ve started on mass effect LE on my steam deck (previously played the LE on Xbox and played the originals when they were new) and want to continue that as well… So I don’t know if I’ll get to D4 right at the season start.

When they got even more greedy and made the reliquaries the new standard for the season pass, I quit playing. The shit cosmetics are not even worth my time or grind. Game is also so boring now, they would need to completely redo the skills for me to come back or bring sets which will never happen. Poe2 is so much better.

I honestly probably would play it, if I wasn’t this addicted to Mechabellum at the moment. Season 10 seems really fun to me, it’s just that I got them robo-armies to build right now…

So if it takes you 15 seconds to down a boss to 2/3, then they ask you to destroy their ‘energy shield’ within 5 seconds else they’ll have their invulnerability (so impossible at that moment). you then already fail and need to get better, since at 1/3 left, the shield HP is worth the same than what took you 30 seconds + 5 seconds + invul wait to end (let’s say 5 seconds) to get there, so add another invul phase, plus another 15 seconds to down the last 1/3 hp.

About a minute to kill a boss if you don’t have a Meta build.

Not bad compared to PoE Expansion Soul-Like Boss fights..

how do people find this exciting? we all know we’ll play this for 3 days then quit for another 3 months.

I can see the step in the right direction but…still unfortunately two steps back in my opinion. Chaos armors should be rolled into base game after the season. Also….idk how others feel but for the chaos “perks” (lets be real they are borrowed power as always) – the Necromancer and Sorcerer perks seem the most interesting….followed by Barbarian, Druid and Spiritborn…. the Rogue ones seem kind of boring to me, like one of them is just straight up “here’s a damage boost because we couldn’t figure out a better way to rework this perk”… Granted of course this is all just on paper, i did not play the PTR and things are different so we’ll see.

I would really just love to see some crazy changes done to the skill trees themselves and… I’m really tired of cool shit being introduced and then taken out.

Edit: also them saying “if we love the chaos armor we’ll bring it back somehow” how about…you just LEAVE IT IN THE GAME…the boss isn’t being removed and he’s already the target to farm them so…WHY NOT JUST LEAVE THEM IN THE FREAKING GAME?

I don’t know. I’m too casual to get all the way through the season pass Torment 4 nonsense. So, I think I’ll probably not be back for Season 10. I don’t feel I get my money’s worth because I don’t get all the way to Torment 4, and all that. So, I think I’ll step back and look for a different game on PS5.

I played somewhat regularly in the first 4 seasons, then the game just got old. Always felt like the same thing over and over… I bought the first expansion hoping things would get better, but never ended up playing it.

Only thing that brrrings me back at this point is the expansion being free, and some MAJOR advancements to the skill tree’s and paragon, as well as a better loot system than just dropping a million items all the time.

They massacred our Alter the Balance necro’s, so, once again, for the 5th season in a row, blood wave will be the top build. Shadowblight may edge it out but that is a bastard to play. BW is just a brain dead loop. Tragic..

I finally finished up the final Season Journey check list and started prepping all my gold, mats, gems, and runs for a giveaway once my characters hit Eternal. Literally have multiple hundreds of the Tier 1 boss summoning mats and dozens of the Tier 2 mats. So many Runes, too. And Grand Gems.

Blizzard is so tone def that they allowed another competitor take their place, 10 seasons of the same thing renamed, expansion was a cash grab with trash storytelling (blizzards historic strength in the ip) and a cliff hangar nobody cares about.

I have a scenario and question to pose for you; I’ve played a lot of Diablo back in the day, but I became a dad and lost the time I’d usually have to play my usual games. I own Diablo 3, with some DLC, but I’ve only been through it once with the Necromancer. And I never got the chance to go through it again. I also own Diablo 2 resurrected, but I never had the time to play all the way through it. But I just bought Diablo 4 for the PS4, and my question is; how is the experience different from playing the game from launch, and playing the seasons as they dropped vs just starting to play now in its 9th season? Like I said I’m not new to Diablo, I own them all, but I just got back into gaming now that my son is 8, and I just got Diablo 4 and I don’t really know what I need to buy, as far as DLC, to get all the content in the game, and what’s not really necessary outside of cosmetics. Sorry I know that’s a lot.

I want more BIS before the endgame through RNG. Build Changing Sets (A tier Endgame builds) in 4 slots (2,2,3,3). That’s 9999 builds. 1 build a day for 27 years. Same for Quests and Pylons. Prefix and Suffix, 99 pylons. Elites, 9 charges, buffs, debuffs, AOE, Melee, Summons, and Summon effect (like exploding). 10 million elites. Content for decades.

If I can’t keep my gear at the end of the season I’m not playing until this is fixed. @06:10 This is way too complicated when the fix we asked for is get rid of invulnerability for all monster types everywhere. It’s a mechanic used by braindead devs only.

Uninstalled D4 a few months ago after not playing for a few consecutive seasons. Personally I won’t be jumping in as I’m still on PoE2 but I hope anybody that plays the new season enjoys it!

I just wish cosmetics were more earnable like d3. The cosmetics are so much better than base armor it’s ridiculous. I am a fan of berserk (and i think in the minority) but even then i could not justify spending as much or more of the actual game cost to buy armor that I liked. Sad

1/50 for the right item 1/5 for right armor slot and 1/4 for right GA…that doesn’t even go into how rare chaos drops will be. It’s going to be brutal to grind. Most people are just going to give up after 1-2 pieces and call it. Here’s hoping guides have detailed explanations of alternatives since 5 chaos armors in specific slots will be an insane grind. Their response being to gamble was laughable considering how rare uniques are when gambling in general and chaos will presumably be even rarer. It’s just intentional design to keep people in game 2-5x as long. They’re so shameless.

Invulnerability phases are annoying, but the bigger problem is that the only way to obtain certain items is to kill the same bosses over and over and it’s just incredibly boring. I won’t be back until they do something interesting with the endgame.

Thank you so much for this. I am definitely going to play season 10. I play for fun, whether or not I get the season rewards is not the important thing, I just enjoy the flow. Maybe this will be the season I actually start playing with a group though.

I’m sick of the overused armor models. Same gelatinous looking spikes or horns or whatever coming out of the shoulder pads and anywhere else they can stick them. Not every armor set has to look like Ed hardy designed it.

Rhykker thank you for your hard work. I think Chaos Armor being untradeable / account bound (I think they haven’t changed that so it remains untradeable) will disappoint so many people who aren’t even aware of this decision. Personally I can just sit down and farm for it, but there are many people who just don’t have enough time to overcome the massive RNG associated with these item drops. Huge L for Blizzard imho, especially for a seasonal power item.

Chaos Armor needs to be a permanent addition.

I enjoy D4 and I will play S10 for sure. I don’t play 18 hours a day 7 days a week like I used to and I still manage to complete the season pass etc. Is D4 perfect? nope I don’t think it is but then in my 30 years of gaming I am still looking for a game to be released that is perfect.

Still no fix for tempering…Bosses get shields and still have invulnerability…Chaos armor is only on uniques…I guess we will see if that dopamine affect keeps people hooked or able to hook anyone at all…Oh and the poor Druid gets nerfed into the ground before the season even starts…Yep, same old Blizzard.

I’m 100% certain that any claim that they fixed soul spires to be worth it is total BS. Unless they give a minimum of 20 aether each, they’re not ever going to be worth selecting (that’s just how awful they are, imo).

Man it’s so sad to see where the Diablo franchise is now , imagine if the team had a quarter of the innovation and design skills GGG has , abyss added more content in one patch to poe then the last 5 Diablo seasons it’s wild

Diablo IV became so stale and boring and since Season 4ish, I went back to playing D2R and it still keeps me entertained to this day, even after 26 years.

The only thing that will bring me back to Diablo IV is a playable paladin class. But not just any rushed implementation.
We’re talking about a flawless homage to Diablo II LoD’s paladin – auras, shields, hammers, holy skills, light vanquishing darkness – the full package. No “dark”/”blood”/”cursed” paladin nonsense.

Chaos armor was the PERFECT opportunity to add a permanent additional source of player power. What a waste.

I loved season 4-7 but I couldn’t care less about 10. How can Last Epoch fix most of the complaints about their game on 6 months but we’ve been asking Blizzard for things for 2 years and and haven’t gotten them?

i’ve got 3000 hours under my belt with the diablo franchise. not as much as some basement dwellers out there, but a franchise i’ve played since diablo 1 in the ’90s.

PoE 2 is in a good spot. they have a game director that has proven time and again, without question, that they listen to the community. i loved diablo for what they’ve done, no one can question how they impacted video games as a whole over the last 30 years, but they have lost their touch. These ‘content updates’ are so insignificant to what PoE 2 does, this Diablo update has finally, after all this time, made me realize how much I’ve been missing out.

This will be the first season I’m just going to pass on since maybe D3 S12-ish and stick with PoE2. hoping for the paladin someday, but even if it does, it’s going to be a hard sell to make me want to D4 again.

Season 10 is looking pretty good. What a roundabout way to get rid of invincibility phases on lair bosses, but I’ll take it.

To answer your question, no. When I tried D4 (I think I got it during season 5) I though the campaign was pretty bad and the gameplay was overall super mid and easy. I got bored as soon as I spent some hours in max level, tried another character and got the same results. I don’t think there’s anything they can realistically do to the game that will make me come back.

I was hoping and praying for Tal’s Loop. I am so tired of having my rings definitive every season. Very very shitty and boring.

Every season is just the same, and the problem is clear. They keep only doing temporary seasonal changes, and occasionally throw in a very watered down version on an item that no one cares about. Seasons should clearly build off of one another like in every other modern game in the genre. Not that it matters since it is just powers every season, regardless of what they call it. The sad thing is the biggest permanent it seems change was the battlepass. And they made it so much worse, and greedy. All of this in a full priced buy to play game with microtransactions that make mobile games blush.

Soul spires were SO bad, it made me hate infernal hoards when they showed up, let’s hope they over buffed them.

Bring me back? I came back for the 3xpa sion and haven’t left since. Of course I’ll be playing s10

Mana Shield didn’t get nerfed, so all Sorcs are gonna be pretty much invincible lol; that isn’t a complaint. Wish they gave us Tal’Rasha as a Chaos item. They also didn’t nerf Advanced Techniques, which was another surprise. That was the biggest scaler for any core-skill /label builds. So outside of the tuning down of Druid, very surprised they didn’t go nerf hammer on all the big scalers. Not unhappy about that, but at the same time we’re back to the stat squish being totally negated with insane damage numbers.

One thing I am absolutely grateful to Diablo 4 for, the number of games I’ve found in a search for something to scratch the itch. With the changes to season mechanics with season 9 (no longer able to earn the majority of a season pass), the fact that a cosmetic cost more than an actual game, and the fact that there has been no meaningful changes or lore drops since the expansion drop, I still play the season launch, but no longer have any motivation (it’s not fun, it’s not new, and i’m not paying $50 a year to play the same game over and over). I have, however, found more than a few gems for less than the cost of a D4 cosmetic that are absolutely a blast.

You’re in the Diablo Partner Program right? Could you ask them about the Collab? Last time they announced with the S8 Patch Notes. Or will it more of a midseason event, cause S10 will be long according to Adam?

I said before when you first talked about them changing the chat that this would be how they eventually get away from communicating with us and that’s exactly what it sounds like.
