To me the worst part in the game is the unreasonably low GA drop rate on legendaries. It’s so bad that all my uniques are 3-4 GA on everything I want, and all my legendaries after like 50 hours of farming are maximum 2 GA, land my amulet doesn’t even have the affixes I want because a str% GA on amulet is just too rare it has to be a joke. I only farm on Torment 4 too. It’s honestly hilarious after 3-4 full inventories of legendaries, I’ll maybe have 1 item with a single GA that is max life, str, or crit dmg. Don’t even get me started on the passive skills.
Problem is that loot wasn’t that much, it’s just poorly coded so it can only drop 10 mats at a time.
Logged in today after a while to see if it can capture my interest. Spoiler, it did not.
That looked more fun than doing an Incursion.

This is just all down to poor coding in the backend… Kind like you know… Loading the stash of everyone near you into memory just in case it might need it… Like an SQL query was never invented where you can… I dont know, retrieve data from a fekking database on demand.
I am sure D4’s underlying net code is a complete clowncar affair of butchered bits and pieces of unfinished unoptimised code that they never had time to polish because the beancounters decided they wanted the coin from the battle pass.
And since the beancounters need thier new hit of coin from a new battle pass every 3 months, instead of making a longer season with better polished content created with more creativity and originality in it, they cant fix the underlying issues, as it would take far too long. All they can do is try rework as much of the backbone of the game as they can when they roll out a new xpac.
This is why we have had 8 seasons of regurgitated boss power like mechanics with a different coat of paint on them for each seasonal mechanic, the devs either lack all forms of creativity, or they have the creativity but are denied the time they need to implement it properly.
Blizzard North made the greatest Diablo games, and Blizzard Irvine destroyed the series.

There is a game that is out right now, it feels like an AARPG in 3rd person, it gives you a pet, this pet picks up loot for you. It gives you a loot filter, according to your settings, the pet will scrap the loot automatically for you based on your loot filter. Best system i’ve ever seen for a crazy loot farming game.

So sick of having to manage so much inventory. Just to keep people addicted like playing a slot machine to feel rewarded. But then you need to pay 100,000 in gold for 50 extra slot in your chest. Then if you ever need an extra 50, it will be 200,000 in gold… Just do the dungeons to obtain the legendary items and recycle everything else.

As silly as it sounds, this is one of the reasons I quit playing.
I get about 0.000033 seconds of loot dropping, so be happy. I just paid $180 for Base (x2) and Ultimate Edition (x2). Loot to $$$ ratio is HORRIBLE.
There’s a reason why this happens, psychologically, the average player is addicted to a lot of drops, So blizzard in their infinite wisdom decided that instead of giving you mats all at once, they drop the mats from cache’s in increments of 10 or 25, instead of 25k. It makes it seem like a lot is dropping but, its not. It’s psychologically tweaked this way to keep the player thinking a lot of good materials has dropped.

I don’t think I’ll ever go back to Diablo after playing POE2. Even though I’m a casual player and I’m making very slow progress with POE it’s so much more enjoyable.

If a game gives you loot, but doesn’t make good use of it, it’s a bad game. When you need loot filters, or can pass on picking things up, it’s unnecessary. This goes for any looter. A white drop should have a use otherwise it shouldn’t drop.

There will always be something to complain about. Not enough loot, games too hard, games too easy, too much loot! I honestly think the games is in a fine place. Sure, it could be better and fine tuned, but it’s not in a bad place. Things they could take from POE2 is the boss fights. They are incredible. End game PoE2 is super boring though. I think I like that in diablo, I can play ssf and still progress decently. I got to lvl 92 in poe2. I don’t think I found a single upgrade myself. Everything was bought through trade. I still haven’t fought any end game bosses. If I have to farm 100 maps to fight one boss, that’s far too long. I’ve crafted hundreds of pieces of gear and 99% were worthless.
This is my number one annoying feature of D4 since they implemented it. i’m glad you finally react to it, and with the right amount of salt xD

This is much better to me than completely 3 consecutive maps in POE2 and never getting anything.
“The servers can’t handle the load for spiritborn/sorc so we have to nerf these things”…make it so the gold, raw hide, etc drops as 1 stack each. The fact that they don’t know how to optimize this points at all of the other flaws that are similar to this.

This issue started in Season 6 I think and there was even patch in Season 6 that said it reduced the time it takes for it to drop the loot but it did.. nothing? and it seems its even worse in Season 7 now

33 seconds to drop, and another 10 to continue picking it all up. And that’s just the crafting materials and gold. I can see that being good for like, a super hard dungeon throwing out look once in a blue moon to be over the top but that’s a Tree of Silent Whispers bag I assume, you can get that thing doing crap around the world, that’s far too long to have things drop for for that speed and ease of acquisition
