That said? Yes, Bethesda cities tend not to be very large. Whiterun in Skyrim, for example, or Diamond City in Fallout 4 were relatively tiny.

I haven’t touched Starfield, but I’m playing Cyberpunk now.

At first, the immersion does seem amazing, but after a while, it is obvious how superficial it is.

There are a lot of NPCs and they speak, but the conversations end if you stop to listen. They are immersive if you dont stop.

You can talk to everyone, but they say one line and no one interacts past that.

There’s a massive city, but you can’t enter 99.9% of buildings.

LOL. I love Cyberpunk and I even really like Starfield. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. Of course. But at the same time, so many Bethesda fans have a long history of being so delusional that it’s not even funny anymore. These are the same people that used to say the developers placing items where they’d fall into the ocean or just couldn’t be picked up was somehow the player’s fault. Or that quests that still weren’t fixed after the 19000+ updates to the game just weren’t a big deal. Anything to prop up and proselytize for Bethesda no matter how insane or unrealistic. These are the same people arguing that Starfield is the better game because Cyberpunk was unplayable for a minority of people 3-4 years ago BEFORE Starfield’s release. As if the “failure” of another game can somehow make this game a better game.

Cyberpunk is one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever played. It took like 10 hours to beat and there’s hardly any content to it. The driving is trash in that game and so are all the car designs. Basic play by play side missions that are all exactly the same. And yeah, starfields neon might be smaller, but the overall size of starfield completely DWARFS anything cyberpunk has to offer. Add up all the cities, towns, outposts, villages, farms, mines, facilities etc. that you can visit in starfield and it’s not even close. Not to mention the exploration and the fact you can literally build your own bases. If you ask me which game is better, I’m saying starfield all day.

Ps, starfield never made my console crash either. Lol starfield is 100x bigger and my console has never dashboarded while playing it. Meanwhile it happened all the time with cyberpunk.

I’m also notice alot of talk on subject, I wanna remind everyone that cyberpunk needed updates and just recently finished receiving it’s last update or major update and no teams will be focusing on it anymore. Starfield is still receiving updates and most likely will for several years with a creative mode coming just like Skyrim. So I’m not expecting anything short of spectacular and from what I got from both experiences they hit differently.

I’m not sure what they are comparing since they are apples and oranges but they both have a beautiful aspect to them that I appreciate in different ways. If only the water had sea creatures then it would add more depth to neon as a whole.

I actually first started playing cyberpunk last year and i fell in love with the game almost immediately. The visuals, combat, story, character and the customisation ohh the customization. It easily became one of my faves. Yes i will say that there was a couple glitches but they always just made me laugh. I think the one thing that made me sad was that because I’m playing on the PS4 I’m locked out of all of the newer version 2 stuff especially the edgerunners additional easter egg at memorial hill.

I’ve played Cyberpunk 7 play throughs. Each time I’ve tried to play different styles, different combat styles, one was just for playing on foot and walking through the city as much as I can. Starfield doesn’t compare to Night City. It’s bigger than people think. And the amount of content in this game, all the shards, the history, the many Easter eggs that I’m still finding are just so vast. Storyline and endings aside, CD Projekt Red made one of the greatest video games ever.

In what world is neon better than night city? It’s like three hallways, a dock/slum, and four shops. Like its main “city” was just jig-jig street without the hookers and a weapon shop.

Playing C2077 (before Starfield) I was bothered that so many interesting store fronts and other locales in Night City could not be entered because the doors were locked. It seemed like 90% of the city was just movie set mock-ups. I never considered comparing it to Neon (lets include its sublevel and roof-top too) it seemed every interesting location had something behind their door (some requiring a quest to open them). But I admit that movie set mock-ups are just fine when all you want to do is tour the city on a motorcycle.

What I should know is that, for the most part night city is just a backdrop. You can’t go too much of it. In the NPC’s spawn and despawn around you. In starfield like in most Bethesda games NPCs wake up in the morning go to their job and then go home at night.

If you wanted a game with Cyberpunk aesthetics and energy, I can list 5 off the top of my head. Starfield wouldn’t be on that list if there were only 6 games in existence and 4 of them are fantasy. I’m not saying starfield is garbage. But what passes for cyberpunk aesthetic in starfield is definitely garbage.

It’s the most alive city I’ve ever seen the views are unbeatable and almost each angle of the city looks like a piece of art. And it’s the only city in gaming besides gta that has tons of ai walking around to make it feel so alive.

Remember going to Neon, Completed all the unique quest there and thought, wow that could’ve been a realy cool idea. Then I gave cyberpunk a 2nd try, what an amazing game and story, it’s a breath of fresh air to actually choose your own adventure

There is not a single aspect of starfield that can even remotely measure up to cyberpunk

Neon, to me, was the funnest settlement in the game. That doesn’t mean it comes even close to night city.

I think in neon the lights are light and darks are dark but in cyberpunk that’s a dystopian type of middle gray that makes it feel more realistic

Cyberpunk, even though it was terribly bugged with some bad mechanics, was a really, REALLY good fucking game.
The environment, the story, the art was exceptionally good. The world around you told a story, and I can argue HALF the game is just admiring the environment. You could tell that the developers, the artist, and the team poured a lot of love into the game. They tried to make it the best they could.

Bethesda is one of my favorites. Obviously they are close to number one in the RPG world, but nowadays, it just doesn’t feel like passion is put into their games. I like both games, truly, I do. But for environmental art? Cyberpunk is a clear cut winner.
