Hey all, hope you enjoy the video!
– The camera decided to focus on the background every once in a while, I didn’t have time to refilm everything, sorry!
– The spec table incorrectly lists the 7900 XTX as having 16GB GDDR6. That should be 24GB GDDR6.
– If you have any questions or comments, let me know!
I told my wife we don’t have jaggies any more, we have fuzzies.
This is the ONLY gpu with a vram upgrade, which is kind of weird? The gap between vram to the rest of the the lineup has stragely grew wider.
hii Nada (^.^)// ty for ur video review! <3 ...btw woud like to ask if this ur jacket..I mean Jensen Huang jacket style was in boundle with rtx5090? xD
Who makes the plastic flowers/bonsai on your desk? The jacket is a nice touch as well. Thank you for your great benchmarks!
Why do you have only one ? The more you buy the more you save !!
Thank you for the video
Memory Clock = Gbps ?!
Dublagem LIXO
but where can i buy the jensen jacket
Wow, that 30%+ boost at 4K and DLSS 4’s multi-frame gen sound wild! The coil whine issue caught my attention though—do you think partner cards might handle that better, or is it a universal quirk with the 5090?
The power draw is scary on the unworthy 16 pin connections. Better have good air flow boys
I think we are starting to get into the territory of screen bottleneck. Buying a 5090 to play anything other than 4k is nonsense. Thing is there’s very little screen that can handle more than 144 fps at 4k, wich you can already get in most games with a 4090
I love the leather jacket tradition for xx90 cards tests
Overkill for gaming 🫠
We came across your YouTube channel and noticed that you are highly active on the platform.
Hi mam,
I’ll just buy the 4080….unless 5080 or 5070ti surprises
Does the hot air come out of the bottom of the card or out the top? My CPU cooler is right above the video card.
What am I missing here? Is there some secret math calculation that makes the difference between 75fp and 100 fps not 25%. That’s not to mention all the other calculations.
I appreciate the fact you added the latency…
basically DLSS Q and optimized settings, trying to hit 100FPS is the way to play on the 5090
Power meets beauty 😍
I’m buying fresh rather than upgrading. Will be interesting to see the 5080 performance…..
PUBG witch 777fps 1080p and 578fps 1440p. /o//////////
Excellent video as always! and I totally agree with your take on frame generation.
I was excited to get a 5090 (to pair it with my new 9800x3d 😀 ) but considering my oled tv (where I play/watch everything) is 4K/120 FPS max and that I only play singleplayer storydriven games. a 5090 is kind of overkill really. So for the time being I will stick with my 4080 Super.
даже очень ничего
PS5 PRO ist besser und günstiger 💙💪🏻😎
auto-dubbing 👎
at 4k your benchmark chart vs rtx 4090 is pure raw power or with upscaling ?
So hot
Damn I thought with my 1200 Watt PSU I will be secured for about 4 years
No way I’m changing everything again I will keep my 4090 until Nvidia show some significant changes in power draw consumption and size
Threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hundred percentage 😱👀💀😳🤔🥹✅
Let me guess .. no VR testing.
your chart at 2:57 is wrong the 7900xtx has 24 gb of video memory not 16 gb
very good and detailed review, but i think you should have talked more about artifacts / image quality on multi frame gen, or did i miss it?
Phenomenal RTX 5090 review! So clean, concise and such relevant benchmarking! Great work!
TL:DR DLSS4 is where the RTX 5090 can flex its muscles, enable it as much as possible for everything. NVIDIA needs better native performance for the RTX 6090 IMO though, and DLSS5 should be even faster than that.
sjokz?
can u test in ark: Ascended :,ccccc OwO
Cool the latest.
God bless, Rev. 21:1
I think I’m good for a couple more years. Maybe then the GPU designers can figure out an actual improvement rather than more power and more cores.
Great performance even without the DLSS 4 frame upscaling. However, the 575 TDP watts screams at my electric bill. Even worse after adding the CPU that is compatible with the Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU. If I lived in European countries with the highest electric bills in the world, (Italy, Ireland, Germany, or the UK), I would avoid it for that reason alone.
GTX Titan launch price seems downright reasonable compared to the top of the line nowadays. Current day GPU market is depressing.
So basically if we just play in 1080p
They gone perform just about the same 🤷🏽♂️
man I think my light bill would shoot through the roof if I ever think about getting that 5090 card already have a power hungry cpu i9 14900k. just imagine the spike in my electricity bill putting those 2 components together high end components at that hehehe 😂
Nice video, beautiful jacket, and bonkers power consumption
Watching from India 🇮🇳
I’m gonna buy this card with 2 days earnings 🥏
Fake frames oh no.
You’re cute but what really attracts me is your video card? Lol
The 7900 xtx has 24 GBs of V-Ram
Thank you for this great review !
RIP 4090 bragging rights. Thumbs up!
So many game tests on day 1! Thanks for the hard work. Also discussion on frame gen summed up my thoughts exactly
at least there are dlss options, you can choose if you want more fps or less latency i guess. definitely as underwhelming as we expected on the raw side and very power hungry. it’s kinda like a 2080ti in ways, could have been a 4090ti… but dlss/fg is the future and it does do what they said very well.
Mrs Jenson
Another great review! 😍
I use to be with Nvidea, since last launch I went with AMD simply for the Ram size. Crucial for high end games. I’ve never had an issue to date with 7900xtx. Think I’ll wait for AMD’s new card launch 🤗
WAIT UNTIL MARCH
Thank you for the hard work !
will you review the different aib models too?
Nice test video
How do we feel about multi frame gen everybody? While I don’t have a modern nVidia card, it seems like it’s decent now and I’m excited to see how the technology will develop!
Nice jacket 😉
WHAT??? NO 7860×2160 @240Hz on DP 2.1? But a leather jacket is important? jfc
Love how the data is presented, you are not rushing over tons of charts at crazy speeds. it’s more natural, fun and interesting.
Clearly the best RTX 5090 review in the universe. Never underestimate the power of the black leather jacket…
More seriously, a very interesting review and many thanks for pointing out the coil whine noise of your sample card. Given the price of the new beast, one would expect high quality in the choice of electronic components (even if the issue is more complex than it seems of course). Perhaps one day Nvidia will offer dissatisfied customers a black leather jacket signed by Jensen Huang… oops I did it again!
I can’t understand such gap between both MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020, the 2024 version is literally killing fps.
By any chance you do something similar for 5080 compare it also to 4090 not 4080, we already know is better than 4080
Its the jacket 🤌
nice jacket 🙂
Nvidia, now the major contributor to climate change.
Finally someone being nuanced about dlss 4, people are either hating it calling it “fake frame”, “fake fps”, and telling people it’s useless and looks ugly everywhere, and then there is the other that say to actiate it in all games at 4x.
Very good video, nice benchmarks.
its a disappointing flagship for gamers
– increased power consumption
– increased price
– increased ram, change to ddr7, newer architecture doesnt really benefit the card cos the uplift is really from the power being pulled
– imagine if the 4090 were given the same power.. theyre probably equal
– main benefit would be dlss4 and mfg which people may or may no use
professionals who use this for ai or video editing should be fine with it cos the improvements will save them time
not sure why techtubers complain about coilwhine of free samples.
even latency sensitive people can’t spot 4ms lol
Generated frames ARE fake frames, they have artifacts that will not be there when not using frame generation. If I’m spending more that 1000€ on JUST THE GPU I do NOT want artifacts in my presentation.
excuse me but its not because we agree to buy an expensive gpu that we can also be agree to pay more ellectric bill, this reasonning is bad.
you didnt try undervolt the card ? i read some pple got nice results with undervolting rtx 5090 with minimal performance lost
This is the first I’ve heard about it having coil whine. Thanks. I’m putting my plans on hold. That includes upgrading to a 240Hz 4K OLED. Maybe firmware can fix this. Or, lets see what the partners do about it.
https://youtu.be/srQHBeWnQzw?t=977 Just want to highlight something here for everyone who was assuming that the new frame gen would make the latency much worse. In this example, not only is not just a couple ms difference as opposed to massive differences, but it’s actually the same Latency with 4x MFG on the 5090 as the 4090 with no FG at all.
Now, let’s add some clarity here. Does this mean MFG is adding no latency? Of course not. If you know at all how Frame Generation works, you will know that in order to not experience a big penalty in latency, you have to have a decent latency in your base frame rate (DLSS SR is fine here) to begin with. The lower your base framerate BEFORE applying Frame Gen, the worse the latency penalty will be. As we can see in this example, since the 5090 can have 98 FPS before MFG, and the 4090 only 80, there’s an obvious advantage here for the 5090. But if people considered the latency you get with the 4090 in this example already acceptable, what this proves is that you can safely have the exact same latency experience, and still get a ton more frames for the visual benefit. If you’re playing games that are sensitive to latency, just improve your base framerate and it’s all still fine. If it’s esports, then don’t use frame gen at all. But esports titles run in the hundreds of FPS already anyway, so it’s largely irrelevant to begin with when we’re talking about this class of GPUs. People need to put down their pitchforks and understand that the tech works, and this is the first version of this new way of doing it, so it’s only going to get better over time.
No vr benchmarks ? 😢
Somnium vr1 is the greatest vr device ever made , why no testing 😫
Every flagship NVIDIA must be reviewed like this from now on. If there’s no leather, the review isn’t legit
Really nice to see the latency on the test, not like Steve.. 🙂 Also Steve is fat, you are not! : D
The 5080 will be alot weaker than 4090 and still NVIDIA state 5070 will have 4090 performance……BS!
So nvidia is just offering gamers more fake fps for more money rather make the GPUs more efficient in their native settings? I like high fps but game optimization is still more important to me.
The price to performance is not good for me.
Double (and realistically more) the price of the AMD card, for up to 49% more performance is not worth it to me. I am sure there are people who find it good.
The price is ridiculous. And no, I am not an AMD fanboy. Last time I owned an AMD card was the HD6850 like 15 years ago.
I wonder how small the lower tier cards will be able to get, with PCBs that much smaller and with lower power consumption. Perhaps this generation will be able to easily get very small 5060 or even 5070 cards. I like that idea.
So the latency is smaller when using DLSS and x4 Frame Generation, than native 4K. I think that’s quite interesting. Perhaps at that point and for that situation, anyone saying the FG is bringing latency in the game is irrelevant when the alternative is worse.
The video related changes look pretty sweet too.
I think other than the price and the power consumption, I really like this card. Obviously I will never get it, but I like the push they are making.
Very good review as always, thank you for sharing.
I won’t agree with your point on frame gen..bcz this has given excuses to developers to not fix games..its like they been bribed by Nvidia too force these features on people which they are..games looking so bad yet need 5090 to run with dlss and frame gen for 60 fps..if thats not bs then what is..they are selling hardware for a problem they created with devs 😂..
I am waiting for the 5080 so I know if I need to purchase the 5080 or 4090 since I don’t think the 5090 will be near retail in my country. It might be 3k to 4k USD
what an anoying card…only 20% faster as the 4090…. but louder..hotter..and with more power consumption.. and 33% more expensive…not a good deal.. makes no sense… its a 4090 ti ….we can skip the 50th gen… i hold my 4090 and wait for the 60gen…
PUBG 1440P ULTRA! 578!! holy shit!! i was going to buy a 350hz monitor for that! now im going for the 540hz !!!
Another fantastic review! Your channel has become my go-to!
FPS is not worth the cost. Keeping my 4090 until the next gen. Will buy anyone’s 4090. DM me
The jacket
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
512 bit bus width very attractive 😍💐
Just noticed, you are wearing a similar jacket. JayZ2Cents was wearing one as well.
I am waiting for the AMD varaints to come out this year, would be interesting to know how the competitor is holding up.
I am currently rolling with RTX 3060Ti and finding this card struggling with higher resolutions even with DLSS on. So, if the AMD counterparts are cheaper & better – I’d opt for buying one with probably 16Gigs VRAM.
25% more cost, 25% performance increase, 25% more power draw…. Meh.
Super
Looks more like a 4090 Ti while comparing the raw performance😅
This is the best take on dlss4 I’ve seen
Thanks for the best RTX 5090 review and graphs. As always, you provide the most insightful, practical, and useful analysis and advise to make an informed decision. 👍
Finally, a jacket worthy of reviewing Nvidia’s latest disappointment.
Consommation en Watts GPU avec le reste de la configuration environ 800 watts avec des pic a 1200 Watts , je vais acheté des actions a EDF France sinon tous mon salaire va passer dans mes factures d’énergies 🙃
Kena 50s 3060, 3070 80s 1440p
F1 60s 3060, 3070 100 1440p

Hitman 3070 60s 4k, 3080 80s
4060 4K tsunama at 25 fps, 4070 40s no DLSS
Elden Ring no DLSS 1440p, 4060 40 fps, 4070 70
4080 Forza 4080 110 fps, 4080 140 4K
Avatar 4k 50fps 4080, 4090 70
Hogwarts 4080 4k 45s, 60 4090
As you guys can see, I compared models directly under a higher class, as that’s the only way it makes a higher class worth it since the jump will be bigger, which is why it makes no sense to compare a 4090 to a 5090 only 1 gen apart. It only makes sense to compare the 4080 to the 5090, which will skip the 4080s; this way it shows a good jump. The same goes for coming from a card like mine, 4070, to the 5080 or 4060 to 5070.
Hands down best review format ever for tech stuffs. Straight to the point with sufficient data to back up, truly like how a great engineer would present their work. Thank you!
Benching 45 games in the small window NVIDIA gave reviewers is pretty impressive
Don’t think I’ve seen other reviews with that many games
GPU MOMMY!!!
so this is the 4090 Ti relaunched at a higher price and more power… makes my 4080 look good lol
Wonderful review! Whenever a new GPU released, TechTesters has always been the first channel I checked.
You surprised me positively again: the most comprehensive test and analysis/observation I’ve ever watched on YouTube.
Let’s be real, this is just a 4090Ti!!
I’ll wait and see if the 6090 will truly be a generational leap!
Thanks for the review. Way too expensive.
Several testers report that the 5090 FE cannot be used vertically if, for example, a riser cable adapter is plugged into the motherboard in the Hyte Y70 case, even if this is replaced by a PCI 5.0 riser cable!
This is probably because the FE in the GPU was already used with a cable for this slot design!
I think NVIDIA could have commented on this. They have “supposedly” tried all installation variants.
This is one of the best reviews out there but i’m still stumped that I haven’t seen a single benchmark for Hell Divers 2.
Muchas gracias
Sorry i don’t have a $10000 pc for a 5090 not worth upgrading from a 4090 buy stocks instead maybe have enough $$$ by next gen😂
The latency gap between DLSS and DLSS with Frame Gen is not that large, probably not even noticeable while playing.
Have a 4090 but cant justify this, will prob sell for €3000 in the EU or more.
Nvidia was right about dlss 4 being the true succesor of dlss 2…
Though I doubt that it will have the same performance impact on lower bitbus and vram cards.
Nice vid great review
2000 USD would be good I guess, where I live the 5090 is selling at 3200 USD 😢
Wow, this is A LOT of information! Thank you for putting together this thorough review. It’s more comprehensive than other reviews. 😊
Hello, can you try the finals?
Nada, how did your son enjoy his new PC that you built !
❤
Wow, so many benchmarks! The latency comparisons and global FPS per resolution charts were extremely useful! Thank you so much! I also appreciate that you took a measured approch to frame gen. I personally tried it in Veilguard, but the hair and beard artifacts and flickering were a dealbreaker for me.
Bravo showing latency against native, upscaled and frame gen.❤
Techtesters do the best benchmarks bar none, comprehensive, easy to read.
thanks but i have the 7900 xtx and it has 24gb vram
Dr. Lisa Su style business suit for 9070XT review, please.
I would probably give Nvidia a couple of months to sort out bug fixes of the GPU driver for the new GeForce RTX 5090 🙏👏
Thank you so much for including FS 2020 and FS 2024 results in your summaries! It is pretty unusual for these to be included in a consistent way in tests like this. In ten days, I am expecting to have all the parts I need to build a new 9800 X3D system to run FS 2024, and will need to decide between getting an RTX 5090 or 5080. I am hoping you will also conduct and publish RTX 5080 test results in the interim that again include FS 2020 and 2024. 🙂
Awesome review of GeForce RTX 5090! BTW nice black Jacket Nada, I hope it was not sponsored by Jensen 😉🤓
Nice Review! Thanks for including an AMD card to refer to! It helps provide some context! Thx.
I think it’s hilariously beautiful that some odd reviewers such as yourself can play into the NVIDIA meme space by wearing a leather jacket, or making remarks about the price. Thanks for not being a hardass, and just being straight up with your review.
Idgaf my nvidia stocks go brrrrrrr
so according to this chart 5090 will run 82% faster than my 4080 for MSFS 2024 which is all I need as an answer. Nobody seemed to be including this game to their benchmarks despite that it was included before… For my VR pleasure I am definitely buying it if I can manage to get my hands on it somehow if the scalpers let us…
Would it be possible to highlight the whole rows instead of just marking the bars in orange so text gets highlighted too? I found it a bit hard to see what is highlighted when bars are small (i.e DLSS 4 Performance – Cyberpunk 2077 part).
THANK you for including the still very popular game PUBG 🙂
so by using the same logic nvidia used saying a 5070 is 4090 performance. A 4090 is 5090 performance🤔 🤣🤣🤣
Обезьян ты, а русскую озвучку, тяжело было сделать?!
😊
queen
20:10 That is nearly 300%, In fact 350%, almost 400%! /350-385%/ This is correct!
Noticing the jacket FRAME 1 and insta liking the video bc of that. Great outfit 🙂
Why include the 7900xtx when we all know it’s wasn’t even a direct competitor to the 4090 talkless of the 5090.
Timestamp please 🙂
10/10
Thank you! ❤
5090 SUPER terrible!
This has become my go to place for reviews. Covering all the normal gamer use case scenarios that people who are building new PC’s think about and need answers for. Well done again!
this is just a suggestion, but would help a lot of buyers. could you focus just a little bit on OC headroom with FE and especially AIB models? i personally don’t like the size of FE and probably couldn’t get it even if I wanted, but it would help me choose the best AIB model…if i’m spending this amount of money i would like to get a model with most OC potential.
+25% performance for +25% more money. Zero generational improvement.
I think AMD did a BIG mistake not “re-releasing” the 7900xtx for a cheaper price. Call it 9900xtx or whatever. Even though the gap is still huge between the XTX vs 5090. If AMD could at least cut that by 20%? With the new version of the xtx. There could be a strong possibility AMD could’ve at least gotten a decent shares in the high end GPU market. Here in Canada a 5090 is going to run you 3k + tax.
Hi Nada, I guess the coil whine on your 5090 is way more audible than on your 4090, correct? I can’t complain about CW on my 4090 FE at all so I’m a bit concerned I’ll be disappointed if I actually decide to upgrade.
You need your own NPP just to start that heavy brick. This is so crazy, dumb and people who agreed and (!) payed for that certainly has very low iq.
People forget how incredibly hard it is to constantly shrink die size. A 30% increase is very good, keeping in mind the die size is currently 4nm.
Awesome, now only 4 years till this performance will hit 7070 for 600$ 😀
Graça ao recurso Dublagem automática do Youtube consegui encontrar o único canal que fez a revisão da 5090 de forma mais completa e técnica possível. Um abraço do Brasil e sucesso.
25% more power, 25% more wattage, 25% more money, coil whine and hidden hotspot temps… dud generation.
The 8th 5090 benchmark video I will watch with more to go. I have been waiting for your video and I am looking forward to buying the white gigabyte aorus 5090.
well done review, love the graphs at 10:01 and 10:29, thx a lot.
This is a nice and informative comparison video. I especially like the graphs and charts that you provided. They really helped me understand the differences between the cards.
I’m so exited about this RTX 4090 Ti from Nvidia
Amazing video
Thanks for the info
This was better than most other reviews 🫶🏼
The price is absolutely disgusting.
Love the reviews, always on point. Thanks for mentioning the noise, was what I was curious about the most.
Great review, much better than the normal whining reviews that ignore the purpose of a 4K 240Hz capable card.
I very much liked the valuable section comparing the 4K, DLSS and MFG with latency figures.
bye, i`m sold… gl finding stock lads 🙂
Clearly I will be keeping my 7900XTX, thanks for making me realise that 🙂
Pretty sure the new DLSS transformer upscaling that is more compute intensive will work better on the RTX 50 cards, making the difference with previous gens bigger.
great review and thoughts about the product, like always!
sexy cards need sexy reviews 😉
Just 4090TI….
4090 ti
atrocious price/performance.
Oh 3:00 – the editor forgot the N of the 4090’s “Nada Lovelace” chip 😉
fake frames are fake and absolutely noticeable, reject Nvidia blurry useless tech, go back to pure rasterized performance, no more 720p upscaled blurry mess.
Don’t get wrong, frame generation is great for frame smoothing in certain factors just like you said, but it is 100% fake frames that are not generated in the colloquial hardware sense.
I will wait SWiTCH2 and RX 9070 XT or RTX 6090
5090 is The performance and price are really serious.
Card is not that great its 4090 ti with lossless scaling 😅😅5 to 35 percent faster.hardware unboxed said was disappointment.
Watching out of sheer interest and support as there’s no way on god’s green earth I’m spending $2k on a 5090. I’ll wait to see what Intel/AMD offer for the mid-tier. Likely Intel as it seems AMD has no intention of actually “competing” and were caught with their pants down on the pricing.
RX 9070 XT will be much better value, when it finally arrives…
Thanks for the breakdown! Just a quick off-topic question: My okx wallet holds USDT and win, and I have the seed phrase: (proof inner hobby bounce blouse able donate virtual luggage cart morning ticket) .What’s the best way to send them to Binance?
*Conclusion, worth? Nope.*
Imagine Robbing some old dude, then review his stuff while wearing his jacket😏
did you forget your wedding ring or finally single? lol
Lets hold and wait for the 6000 series or go amd if u on a budget , this just ngeedia playing tricks
But they ARE Fake Frames. That doesnt mean the Tech is bad or doesnt have any Usage at all.
Imo the Term “Fake Frame” explains it pretty good though. Its not a real rendered Frame that can process your Inputs. Therefore Fake. It does still look ok because the AI does interpret (thinks what the next Frame should look like = therefore Fake) the next Frame, but they arent Real. They also arent as good, visually.
No graphic cards is worth as much as a used toyota 2500 bucks stupid
I’m on the fake frames train and I’m LOVIN’ EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! (((((((((🤓🤓
I’ll wait for a 5090 Super or the 6000 series
something don’t seem right here. how did you, nvm.
I’m wondering what the difference would be between the 9800x3d and the 285k with the 5090 at 4k.
Rtx 5090 is 4k gaming gpu
Then why 1080p and 2k?
Astonishing review of an even more spectacular card!
Could you please test the 5090 on ark?
which driver are you using?

I see you got that 4090 Ti too
perfect review! totally agree in the topic of frame generation! thank you
Frame gen does not increase your framerate. It is a frame smoothing technology. Don’t be fooled.
Fatest GPU on the market to create fake frames.
Great Review and Great to see you getting the 5090 to test for embargo day! Would have been Nice to see the 4090 vs 5090 FPS rather tahn % on those wonderful Summary Charts – But Great to see the games I play have great % – Great Review.
hahaha the jacket
So its a Rtx 4090 slim with AI , for cheaper then the original 4090 makes sense, not has powerful without AI
That is an excellent review. Thank you. I will probably buy 3,000 dollars of Nvidia stock instead of the 5090..
Love this!!! I do get why you said this isnt really a 1440p card but i feel like it would be beneficial for those that have 240Hz+ OLED 1440p and/or Ultrawide Monitors at 1440p/1600p resolutions like the LG 38GN950. By the way, do you still use that monitor? I was curious about that
Feels like a brute force solution to improve performance by showing 600W into it
This is a big 💩
Will you be comparing all 5090s like you did for the 4090
one thing I noticed: many games with improvement below 25% are often cpu bound already at 1440p, the cpu bottleneck was already showing a little bit at 4K. in the <25% area you either see very light/old titles already close to be cpu bound at 4K, this is why you see +18% and not +30% for instance, or poorly optimized ones (e.g starfield).
Maybe like jay2cents tell ppl to pause video to watch benchmarks? Kudos for adding pubg 1080p ty!!!
So this is the 1st GPU manufacturer card that doesnt have blower turbojet on it but instead a marvel of engineering, which used to be AIB thing.(yes yes, they had FE editions for long now, but they all were meeeh, allright till Waterblock arrives) THe only impressive thing is the cooler, Im wondering nobody actually is bringing it up. 2 slots and cools 700W almost inaudible, and temps are cool…
Most of same size coolers cant even coold down <300W cards down...
I bet some 40 series cards can run MFG.
Loving the jacket, haha
The last cards had more of a jump to their predecessors. the 3090 to 4090 there was an increase in over 70% the 4090 to the 5090 is just over 30% also the 5090 is one power hungry card.
can’t wait to play stardew valley on this bad boy
something with algorithms…
If you’re spending $2,000 and still have to deal with coil whine….not so good. I’d rather see a 4 slot card for better performance and no coil whine.
Thanks for the Review, wondering if you stole Jensens jacket 😉
*edit: best explanation on topic of multi frame generation and where it makes sense and where one would want to avoid it I’ve heard so far.
Hi Nada, it’s so lovely to see you once more. I’m planning to buy a 5090 and do my own YouTube review as soon as I get it. You can expect to see my review on YT near the end of this year.
🙂👍
Thanks for the latency tests. Still, the fake frames are only worth if you already have 90+ native FPS, IMO.
But it is terrible at power consumption/inefficiency/heat/noise/size. I can’t imagine getting one unless I really needed it for work.
The electricity cost alone should be staggering, it would be very interesting to see some comparison about it.
I´m Here Just Because of The Leather Jacket 😀
The leather jacket makes this video so much better 😂
Thanks for the excellent review
Lovely ! benchmarks coming out. they said to watch alot of different revieuws for the 50 series. thanks for the video and information!
glad you put the AMD highend card also in there
From my previous experiences, coil whine goes away within one month of use.
Fastest it is … but these days I avoid 2nd house heaters (> 300watt) … so an AMD 9070XT it will be..
Pathetic card
Too expensive right now, manufacture frame makes the game “LOOK ” smooth but in reality it feels clunky.
You’re gorgeous
Why so much power draw, shouldn’t it be more efficient with better VRAM?
Thanks for the review.
Fantastic review as per, thanks!
DLSS 4 is impressive, the extreme wattage is not. Maybe I should emigrate to a cooler country. Either that or my PC can double as my water heater.
Great video. Can’t wait for the partner cards comparison.
It is odd, considering the hardware specifications of the card, that NVIDIA needed to pump that much wattage to achieve the performance they did. One would think it could be the same as the 4090 and still get the 25-35% raster improvements.
I watch several reviews of new products, but you are always my first stop. You are the most informative and do so with a great no-nonsense style which I really appreciate. Keep up the great work!
The prices are crazy, way too much for this performance. Next 10 years will cost $10,000.
They will just kill competitive games with these GPUs and prices. No thanks. Future is not bright… at all. 1080p competitive games is the future.
Much thanks for good video. Waiting for 5080 and going to buy one) Still will be watching review of it XD
Power consumption: 570W 💀
We trolled Intel, but Nvidia deserves a way worse treatment.
Decent improvement considering they used the same process (TSMC 5N) of the previous gen.
That said, for 2500 euros, they can shove it inside their…
The black leather jacket is *on point!* Jensen would be proud!
Thanks for another amazing review, Nada, and any and every other person who helps make these videos possible, you all do an incredible work!
These videos are invaluable for every potential customer, the info, the specs, the benchmarks, the editing…
Thanks again!
Everyone that has dlss capability is using it, dont let them fool you.
“if you’re already waiting to get a $2,000 GPU, you probably wouldn’t care about your power bill too much. 😭😂”
Geezus. Doesnt anyone Benchmark Assetto corsa competizione?
It probably has reached a point where advance in hardware can no longer result in a significant increase in performance, and we’ll have to increasingly rely on software from now on.
👊😎
My dream of playing Minecraft at 50000000000FPS is so close
With driver updates and faster reference cards, I think the performance will be considerably better. Still too expensive, though. Also, I think there’s too much emphasis on DLSS, though your take is very sober. In less latency-sensitive games I think it can be useful, and MS Flight Simulator is a perfect example.
Nvidia messed up this gen.
50 series is just a refresh of 40 series.
Without node shrinking they barely got 10% in architecture improvement.
Goes to show that TSMC is doing all the heavy work not nvidia.
Nvidia has now fully become a software (read AI) company and they don’t care about hardware improvement anymore.
Excellent review! Better than most I’ve seen thus far.
We don’t mind the technology of frame generation. We mind as being marketed as “performance” when Jensen comes on stage and claims 5070 at 550$ for 4090 performance
And then ALL the kids and a-technological people on Instagram and TikTok keep repeating the snapshot of that claim.
I really like that you talked about which use cases would benefit frame generation and where it does make less sense to have it enabled.
Great video as always!
a nice RTX 4090Ti
finally a non-clown review. Well known schmucks are reviewing this card completely omitting results with using the new technology like DLSS 4. So misleading and they’re creating unnecessary drama while Jensen and Nvidia are sitting on top of the world, developing mind, blowing technology and graphics cards.
4000 series guys stay with your cards it is good and still worthy and make a way for new PC builders a chance to get a card. 😊
I mean, if you have to say a bunch of qualifiers for when frame generation is okay to use, and really only should be turned on when you have at least 60 fps, i dont think any review should include it. It would be fine to review it separately, but it’s not really a quality of the card itself.
very very good
😁😁😁👍👍👍
As someone who mainly plays AAA single player titles, I see no point in even buying a 4090, let alone 5090 where the performance uplift is barely noticeable to human eyes.
not the fastest doe since msi and asus runs just by 20 fps on most demanding games than nvidia cards 🙂
I’m not buying it unless i sell my 4090 but the extra power consumption is holding me back
Great review, and thanks again for including The Division 2 in your tests. For me, the power draw of this card along with it’s likely scalper pricing, make the 5090 poor value.
“Do you like my jacket ?”
what a bummer… it does not even come with a high quality leather clown nose that you can wear while replacing your 4090 the 5090.
You are the very best when it comes to testing all of the computer hardware. I have watched many Youtubers, and you explain the best. You have graphs as well. Thank you.
Great review.
Thank you for calling out Nvidia on their marketing presentation of what 4090 actually brings.
Frame gen is useful, but not the solution for everything or not even wanted in some cases.
Also, feels like Nvidia artificially limits older gen cards in order to show newer ones in better light.
Great video! In conclusion, 7900 XTX is still the best buy right now
The jacket was a nice touch. Cheers to our lady who covers the details
Great video, love your view on the dlss 4! Good luck upcoming weeks with all these RTX 50s from the brands coming out!
So Nvidia is selling higher frame rate numbers not much better real game feel. 25% more money for 25% real raw power. A real frame is a real frame , and a fake frame is a fake frame. Fake frames are for the smoother frame rates presented , and real frames for the “real” raw performance and the feel of the game. 60 fps may be made to look like 240 fps but still will feel like 60 fps. Very Disappointing. But, the new gps can produce better image quality with DLSS 4 with transformer model.
I want a 4090 for €1000
For a normal nonpro gamer what is an acceptable range for latency? Up to 40?
I check most reviews and for now this best review overral you can see even frame generation information
i will stay with my strix 4090 and 7800X3D <3
Thank you
45 games?! Stev- I mean Nada?!
RTX 4090 is using TSMC 5nm
The jacket reference is a nice easter egg! Do you like your jacket 😀
Great review and video as always!
that Jensen jacket was a power move, not gonna lie
Does it use DP 1.4 or DP 2.1?
I prefer native rasterization performance but i understand why they are trying to pivot into selling framegen performance, in a future it will probably be just as legit as rasterization but that future is not here, that being said the 5090 is just as expected aside from the power draw that seems a bit off the charts, the price is bad too but expected since sadly they don’t have competitors at the moment, impressed by the dual slot design, i thought the era of high end 2 slot was gone.
Finally, we can do Cy2077 4k native at 28fps/.
Small mistake at 1:40 Actually the card has LED’s in the X part and Text.
I just want to say I thought you did great with the review! The MFG input latency measurement isn’t something I saw anyone else do and that was a great addition! I also liked the part you included about the power supply recommendation – on this topic can you more clearly articulate what scenarios required the 1200W over the 1000W?
Also I liked that your conclusion addressed the elephant in the room in that since it’s faster people are still going to buy it. We know that despite what people are saying online they are still going to vote with their wallet and stock will be nonexistent for months!
I’m looking forward to your AIB reviews on memory temps. This was really key information for me in the 4090 reviews.
Unrelated but that jacket is fire!
5080?
A nice touch with the 5 series for video editors is that it does 10 bit 4:2:2 which is the bane of an amd users experience, forcing them to go intel or get an arc card.
I bet that card is loud af when the 575 watts heats up the inside of a case. My 4080s founders had coil while but it went away after a month or so, hopefully the same for the 5090
i was waiting for your review specifically
Dang seems like they just made a bigger 4090 with the corresponding increase in price. 30ish more performance for 30ish more money.
now we need a 4090 with the cooler of the 5090 and we would have a goated gpu
👍
Incredible work as always. And your video was 1st of all the 5090 reviews 🎉🎉
Thank you for showing 3D creation software it really means alot
the black leather jacket is a pretty fun touch
Nice review as always. And I love how they really care about small details. Yes, she wear the black jacket 😂
It’s good that you tested LLMs, but the most important thing is memory. 5090 has 32Gb of RAM, so it will be able to run models that just don’t fit in any other consumer GPUs. For that it will be very valuable, I predict $3000 market price after initial batch is sold out everywhere.
Thank you, a good review. Those latency numbers are very interesting. If other reviews corroborate similar findings then Nvidia have done well in this regard. As you say, it is an option the user can use at their own discretion.
Tech Mama Nada with the best benchmarks!
lovely video, but i don’t buy it at this price 😈
What people should do is not buy this card that will be a good outcome for us all. Personally 5090 is a flop vs price vs fps gains
Great review, well done! Just a small correction – at 2:35 the table says that the 7900 XTX has 16 GB of GDDR6, but it should actually have 24 GB. Everything else is spot on, keep it up! 👍
Thanks for the review! Seems like what everyone was worried about with the GPU is true, sure it is an upgrade but it’s not a big enough upgrade to justify the cost imo. But like you said the people who are going to buy it day 1 aren’t going to be bothered by that price 😅
2k i wont be getting one
THANK YOU for the measured and nuanced take on Frame Gen/Multi Frame Gen.
(Not that I expected anything less from anti-drama Techtesters 😉)
Great review as always!
What CPU Cooler uses this assembly?
5090 has 32GB VRAM, so i was surprised when these new cards were released that the 5080 only had 16GB VRAM and not somewhere in between like 24GB VRAM. I wonder if they will release a 5080 Ti or Super at a later point in time with a little more VRAM. Besides all that it seems like a very decent card with all its features.
First 5090 review and with Jensen jacket 😂
Love the jacket not the card
👍👍❤❤❤
Thank you for all the charts in the video. I hope you will have 5080 review as well amd maybe even with some custom cards present, like GB waterforce. Not sure that the upgrade really worth it from 3080 playing on 3440×1440.
Tech Mama from Netherlands is back ❤
I still prefer Nada’s leather jacket then Jensen’s shiny leather jacket!
(thanks for doing that jacket thing a bi-annual tradition whenever nvidia release their flagship gpu! 😂)
Many said this, but I’m gonna say it anyway – nice jacket!
👁️👄👁️ *OMG Reviws*
😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Will it blend though?
But just out of curiosity; how many more years till GPU have their own PSU’s?
9070 plz be our lord and savior 🙏
Not you doing the review with the Jensen jacket too😂
Great video as usual i would normally hold off and hold onto my 4090 but i have a 57 samsung 7680×2160 that runs at 240hz and sadly the 4090 ports limits it to this resolution at 120hz so this is prob the main reason why i will try to get my hands on the 5090
Coil Whine. $2k. Hmm.
ok, black leather jacket is back! 😎
Great review, as usual.
You & JayzTwoCents are both wearing black leather jackets 😂😂
Gotta love the leather jacket 😂
Another unobtainable GPU. At least to those of us not willing to spend close to €3000.
I waited so long for this Video, thank you!
22:46 Wow, I’m not buying a 2000$ gpu to hear that much coil whine… Gpu manufacturers don’t care apparently
I always wait for your videos, I love your focus on gaming and how you display the results, you are my favourite gaming hardware channel by far. Just the fact the 5090 dlss 4 latency is lower is enough to make me want one, my 4090 has such high latency with dlss 3 that I just end up not using it.
glad i am on the 4090 / 6090 cycle. this gen is blah for the price 🙂
Thanks, little more than I want to pay for a GPU but there is a market for it I spose. Will just continue enjoying my 3080ti 😅
They should have called that thing 4090 Ti
So u have no footage of this? Hmmmm
Resolutions better known as FHD, QHD and UHD.
Love your videos
Absolut Garbage upgrade
At such a price it’s a really bad value
Especially with the the huge power draw
Hard pass for me, i‘ll wait until 2NM chips.
So, Pretty much all the rumors where true… This is a Skip it Generation… the 50 series is nothing more then a Super Super series.
meaning the 5090 is a 4090 TI , the 5080 is a 4080 super and so on. The Problem with Nvidia focusing on Gimmicks or AI for performance is that
it encourages developers to be lazy and relies on unoptimized games and for us to use AI to fix the problem.. we need raw performance no matter what because if its just AI , then what happens when your game natively runs sub 30 and you want to use AI the frame-gen will run poorly no matter how much you turn on reflex 2 etc .
we need a node jump like the leap we had with the 3090 to 4090… the 4090 will become the new 1080ti… until we get down to 3NM or 2NM which will take years, so if your on a 30 to 40 series skip this gen and wait for the 6090 or 7090.
AI = surveillance
Nice. Did Jensen send you that jacket to go with the card? 🙂
I’m curious to see the 5070 ti video, because I have a 4070 ti and I want to upgrade. Thank you for the great content!
Nice jacket!
Thank you for the video review. Will you be doing reviews on the other 50 series cards as well? I wish i could afford the 5090 but, i’ll have to wait on that one.
favourite tech channel🔥
POOWWWEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!!
I hope you didn’t upload this too early Nada!
First 5090 test video and it is from the blond goddess 🙂
Nice leather jacket 😎
Love the jacket ❤
Lets go
Why are you first lol
😎👍
