apart from the cursed gun, why does the muzzle flash last so long on screen? Those usually last a frame or two, but here it’s like a quarter of a second (15 frames at 60fps). It makes it look cheap, like a half-assed post processing effect. It even fades out. That’s definitely not how rapidly-expanding gasses work.

I mean, the fallout 3 combat shotgun at least has the benefit of being SOMEWHAT plausible. This thing just… There’s not even enough room to move the cartridges through it properly. Unless the rounds go straight upward and the rest of the gun is just the firing mechanism; but if that’s the case then you’d have unnecessarily complicated internals and a barrel length of like 1 inch 😂

I think the designers of starfield’s guns just assumed it’s futuristic setting would explain whatever they do with them and let their imaginations run wild, so you get lots of very fun but not very practical gun designs(and it is a video GAME so obviously fun does come first, but still)

You know whats funny about this? Killzone 3 had a handgun with a drum magazine mounted to the front like the Bizon, and that hand gun is not only larger and actually has a working slide, but the drum slides forward and off before a new one can be put on it.
