Most of this showcase is full of juicy words in place of actually articulating what there is to do in this game.

The planets appear as more of a gimmick than anything.

For a Fallout/Elder Scrolls style rpg, writing, quest design, and branching choices are everything. Which will most likely be the downfall of this game, if not the game breaking bugs and awful performance at launch.

Fallout 4 was a big disappointment for me as it strayed away from all the things that made fallout, fallout. Character customization, branching choices, roleplaying, life sim elements, incredible quest lines, and writing.

Then Fallout 76 made me dismiss Bethesda entirely. I can’t imagine this game ever turning out more than an average rpg that might’ve been neat 15 years ago.

Playing this game while blazed and listening to intelligent drum and bass is going to be an interstallar trip 🤘

Starfield. 125 gigabits of happiness. This complex game program is on the top 10 of ranking of game history for the amount of memory requested.
These details are not trivial.
It confirms the gigantism of each detail of each place.

In addition, the recent 45-minute presentation represents only a tiny part of what w’ill be able to see.

Starfield represents for me an absolute fantasy in terms of video games.
Let’s not forget the quality of the Artwork either. Again, absolutely fantastic.

Obviously, I pre-ordered the Premium edition and sent my cash directly to Microsoft for believing and support this project.

The environments look so good. The character models look so bad. Never have Bethesda’s plastic looking character models stood out more. If they can deliver on what they are promising this game will be amazing. I’ve been burned way too much times by Bethesda though to ever preorder or buy day one. They need to add some type of Land Rover that attaches to your ship, since this isn’t star citizen you can’t fly around the planet, you land and then you leave the ship and have to WALK all over these planets. That’s gonna ruin a lot for a lot of people. Walking simulators are no fun.

I would exercise caution with this game. It is very ambitious, and we all know what happens to overly ambitious games (e.g. No Man’s Sky). This gameplay trailer looks heavily scripted with most of the footage being only a few seconds long before cutting to a different one. I assume this is done to showcase only the best aspects of the game. I’d rather see a developer sit down and play the game uninterrupted, so that we can get a better idea of what this game is like (for example, what is the computer AI like).

I sense a GIGANTIC let down in the near future.

all jokes aside, this game looks pretty incredible. galaxy and worlds appear to be very filled and loaded with activities. combat while its nothing too special, looks very pleasing especially w the variety. customization, perks, skills all appear to be very interesting and unique. I especially love the survival game aspects from other games as well. Definitely has huge potential to be game of the year.

I wasnt sure about this game when I saw the first gameplay reveal. However after this one, it’s actually growing on me and it might actually be quite a good game (fingers crossed). I like you can board and steal other ships. Plus how they have reworked settlements looks good. Lets just hope there isnt too much bloat in it. The scope worries me. But on a positive note i can imagine modders transforming this game into something truly insane!

The Low-Fi-not-Sci-Fi aesthetic is nice, in a spacecraft why use more power making everything fancy and science fiction when you can use lower tech that is reliable, robust and simple while doing well enough to show what needs to be shown? The sci-fi holographic navigation table is also logical since it provides a medium of visualization that harkens to sea charts that let ship captains visualize the oceans under their hull and how their ship would react, so a starship captain could look at various maps of space and projections of space weather and dust clouds and nebulae and all that and chart the best course before activating their Grav-Drive and allowing the computer to adjust course and thread along the line the captain drew out in the seconds it takes to collapse space around the ship into a point and move it through the path, and if you chose wrong and blast through turbulent areas your ship might be damaged so you’ve got to get skilled at charting the right course or otherwise have lots of credits in reserve and free time to repair the damage.

Hm, I can see the body inventory and loose items and inventory are similar to their other Creation Engine games, but I recall that Starfield is going to be the first Bethesda game on the new version two of it, presumably greatly overhauled and optimized. Fallout 76 was the last game to run on V1, and we saw how bad it was, probably trying to push CE V1 way too hard and using the revenue from it to revamp CE V2 so work can be done to make Starfield the best they can possibly make it. I have high hopes for Starfield, a lot of trust in Bethesda got sacrificed with Fallout 76 so I hope they make Starfield worth that, I think they’re betting that it’ll be good enough to restore faith in them and I hope it will be.

I just hope it runs smoothly on all consoles! Cyberpunk should have been incredible but was unfortunately flawed by bugs and glitches😔 this game looks insanely good!

my greatest question is how big can I make my ship? Like can I make one so big it becomes a pseudo capital ship? Also can we have other ships flying with us in a fleet? Can we dock interceptors in a big enough ship? Can ships have hardpoint mounted guns? Every space game out there sems to go for dogfighting and never really opens up the idea of capital ship combat, but with this I could see it working, or the modders will add it eventually.

While I understand the need to cap the game at 30fps with it running at 4K, it still would have been nice to give players the option to run it at a lower resolution at 60fps with the occasional frame rate dip. Todd Howard flatout said they got it running at 60fps on the XSX, but it wasn’t always stable. Just give players the option for a performance mode if they want that. I get that the game is big but just give people the option is all I ask. And what’s worse, if you don’t have a 4K tv, you still get stuck with the 30fps. Some people don’t mind the 30fps and others do. That’s why options exist. This game looks like it has a lot of flying, aiming and shooting. The 30fps might be a deal breaker for a lot of people.

NASA punk + the well used and worn low-fi look of stuff strikes a chord with me as I’ve always thought that a grounded and relatable aesthetic is much easier to get behind for space stuff. I’m so glad that everything isn’t unnecessarily flash looking and polished like in a lot of scifi.

This looks really really good. Especially happy about Bethesda bringing back more roleplaying freedom and RPG mechancis. I only have three main concerns:
1) Hopefully the writing is of a higher quality than their past few games
2) I’m afraid many of the barren worlds will become too bland and samey after a while, kind of like with No Man’s Sky
3) Performance issues, but that’s to be expected with Bethesda

I really REALLY hope this game works out.

If I thought burning 500+ hours into FO4 was too much. Idk if I can handle spending x3 as many hours for this game 😅

As much as I liked the showcase and it getting me excited for the game – I’m incredibly concerned to see people still working in cubicles in the year 2023. What is this, the office dark ages of the 90’s and early 2000’s? I thought we moved passed the cubicle mentality of work.
