This explosion was on the ground. Buildings were blocking the flash. Nukes are normally detonated over the target.

At the party, everyone has their backs turned and the guy is taking photos with solid flash, so the nuclear flash is unnoticeable to them. The girl looked up a moment after the flash appeared (that’s all I can think of, but it’s still a cool scene with her looking at the explosion). Even in your video, the shock wave is shown to be moving as fast as it should, but the moment of the wave’s appearance is delayed.

I’m not here to disagree, but has anyone thought that maybe the bombs work differently than the ones we are comparing them to. For example, there not only in the future, but some (not all just some) of their technology is way more advanced than ours.

The flash itself is sort of masked and explained by the dad constantly taking pictures with the flash on his camera. But you’re dead on. I think they went rather with a dramatic angle to it all.
