It all comes down to them shifting their focus away from gaming in 2013 and marketing the Xbox One as a media center instead of gaming console. Then the whole used game fiasco tanked all their goodwill they built with the 360. Had they focused on gaming in 2013 they would still be close with Sony.

Install two disc readers if you have to. Allow me to play every single original Xbox and Xbox 360 game if I want. Allow me to local download digital copies so when your online store inevitably removes a game or shuts down servers I can still play.

Make it an end all, be all backwards compatible machine so we only need one console to cover our library of Xbox games. This strategy will bake in hardcore fans and repeat customers. Quit viewing customers as continuous revenue sources and start actually caring about the value you’re giving them.

I think it’s great that Xbox is moving some of their stuff on PlayStation. I think it’s stupid to lock games behind certain consoles and I think it’s unfair to the consumer and I think this is great.

Well if xbox could stop fucking the dog and build a console that does what everyone wants (backwards compatibility, physical media, exclusive games that dont suck) they could quite easily turn things around. Like heres a 100 million dollar idea, tickle valve’s balls the right way and get steam integration for a home console and the pc and xbox crowds will collectively fill an olympic pool creaming themselves.
