Starfield Captains Matter Review
Today we are checking out a paid mod that makes ship captaind more important. Killing or persuading them to stand down will now force the whe whole crew to surrender

It has been pointed out to me there is a mistake in the title for one of the game options. I will include this in a future patch. Hoping to get more feedback to see if anything else needs touched up before I get it addressed. The duplicate with the lower default % is for Fanatic.

It’s interesting how it interacts with other mods. You could combine it with Disguise, sneak to the cockpit, disable the captain, and the crew surrenders.
I had Bedlam installed with this mod, so when I took out the captain of a pirate ship, most of the crew surrendered, but not all of them. Apparently the enemies created by Bedlam decided not to surrender with the rest and kept fighting.
The more mods you install, the more surprising are the situations that you encounter, but it is rarely immersion-breaking. It’s just more like real-life, when you cannot predict what is going to happen. With all those mods that I have installed, NPCs always have some surprise for me. Starfield is really amazing
BTW, many ships have docking boards close to the cockpit, especially some Va’ruun variants. So it is not necessary to fight your way through the whole ship in order to get to the captain.
you could stun the crew first before taking on the captain.
I usually capture four for my brig before taking out the rest of the crew.
I doubt I will get this mod though. I am happy with my working brigs, capturing some of the crew and taking the ship.
When I played it I also found myself in the situation that I had to get through all of the crew to get to the captain.
I also don’t like that the crew is completely stranded without the captain. That is something my character would never do. Wished you could tag those ships for a faction to have them collect the crew.
