starfield 情報局

Starfield’s Earth is certainly not what it used to be, but you can still find a few landmarks that you might just recognise.

The truth of Earth’s fate is so tragic. The guy who created the Grav Drive saw it would destabilise the magnetosphere, but he felt it necessary for humanity’s destiny amongst the stars. However, after witnessing what his creation did to the Earth firsthand, he killed himself out of guilt for all the lives lost.

Instead of making it possible to land anywhere.. would have been so much better to have specific points of interest that were more specifically designed.. these Easter eggs are nice and all, but it’s a little odd that the shard survived, but all of London otherwise is completely vanished.

There’ve been hundreds of hours on what Starfield could’ve done better…so here’s a comment that’ll just take a few seconds to read. They should’ve dropped the grav engine destroying earth plot line. Just make earth polluted, heavily bureaucratic, riven with inequality, and bigoted toward non-earthlings. Allow the player to visit one fleshed out city and have the rest of the planet be restricted because everything on the planet is owned and settled. Places willing to accept a landing request have decades long landing queues if you’re simply requesting to visit without a purpose or they’re private/insular/violent enough to shoot down anyone who tries. Make Earth so inhospitable and unwelcome that the player will appreciate why so many people decided to leave. Make the space traffic and debris a nightmare too. There you go, now you can have a pathway for bits of earth content while explaining why the entire planet isn’t walkable. People didn’t need earth to die to encourage space travel, you just needed to write a planet people want to leave. Make earthlings you encounter out in space caricatures of rude tourists today.

We know what took away the the magnetosphere but hear me out what if the artifact and the frequent grav jumps did more than just poof the magnetosphere and mess with the poles
My thinking is the grav drive released some kinda of energy or radiation after each jump and unlike in the modern time with more advanced tech maybe 300 years ago earth didnt have the tech to make shieldinga to keep the radiation or energy from hitting earth

of course the pyramids, oldest known structures that have survived till today, would fucking survive the literal end of the earth.

I don’t understand why everything is sand though. Just because Earth lost its atmosphere doesn’t mean every building and every road, every house, every factory and vehicle would just erode away into nothing.
Especially if its only been 300 years….
yet for some reason though, there is a random single tower at every famous location surrounded by an ocean of dust and dirt….
It doesn’t make any sense what happened to the ruins of our species. Unless we decided to replace everything with freakin styrofoam before we abandoned Earth.

What I really don’t like about earth in Starfield is that they just put landmarks on generated desert wastelands and call it a day.

My major problem with the “Magnetosphere disappeared” explanation they gave is that it doesn’t explain where all the water went. The Magnetosphere isn’t what holds all the gasses and liquids to the surface. That’s all gravity’s doing. The planet would be bombarded with solar radiation yes, but all the atmo and water… especially the amount of water earth has, wouldn’t just disappear.

the fact they didn’t even made some interiors to explore to none of the these buildings sums at all for me why the exploration in this game suck and I am just not interested in starfield at all. I mean in fallout or skyrim you get to a landmark building a lot of them you can enter and explore. in starfield all locations (other than the boring cities) are all the same outposts. so much potential to be had on earth yet this is all they have to show for? lazy!!!!!!@

Yeah nothing but politics… Earth will always be green… Life creates it’s own environment… It is Life that produces O2 and it is life that produces CO2… Both compounds are unstable… Without life they would both disappear in less than a thousand years.

Had to stop playing. There’s too many bugs. Most of my companions have completely vanished from the crew list. I’ve had issues where my ship disappears while I’m on a planet. Multiple quests completely broken. NPC’s not following you properly. Maybe in 6 months when modders have done the dev’s jobs, I’ll come back to it.

I was wondering how they’d fit earth into the game, quite a cool way of doing it without having to remake the entire planet as we know it
