I have 2000 thousand hours and still going.. the bugs are a joke. The main game still needs a lot of work. Missing npc to missions. Ships not loading in.. this game has so much potential. The makers Just not focused enough to fix the game.. I love and hate the game..

Wow, it’s been 2 years? It feels like a decade ago to me

I’ve been revisiting after a year away, and role-playing a Trackers Alliance bounty hunter too (at level 62). I can’t say I’ve noticed any effects of the August updates. I have had the odd rare crash after several weeks but it’s been very stable. Once it dropped out boosting the Rev 3 as it couldn’t seem to update the foliage scenery fast enough. I have a 4060 Ti on 2560×1440 which is good for 60fps usually.

I do still like the game, and it is great fun, but it’s hard to believe play testers didn’t pick up on so many things. I could fill an A4 pad. Silly things, like NPCs pushing themselves through closed doors, hitting you through reinforced windows, fast travelling to your ship’s landing location always on the wrong side, landing at night nine times out of ten, vendors never having enough money (5,000 credits is poxy) requiring you to sleep on a slow-turning planet regularly.

As Sarge said, the same repeated buildings still pop up over and over again. I got to level 50 before seeing one large complex I’ve never seen after hundreds of hours playing.

The AI in FEAR was amazingly crafty and reacted differently each time. Mostly in Starfield the NPCs keep on doing the same thing like it’s Groundhog Day. Except when you’re trying to deliver a coup-de-grâce headshot, then they instantly switch ends – while crawling on the ground – so you shoot them in the arse instead.

I like Starfield with all it’s faults better than Fallout 4 though.

But Sarge, we could’ve double the video duration talking about loot!

Starfield is quite post post apocalyptic.

Starfield had potential but was a disappointment to myself and many others.

The planets and environments often feel boring and spare. There are no alien or robot npcs (not counting feral enemies) to make the universe more interesting. The art style feels lacking and not interesting enough to make the world look nice. It’s like they wanted to have a near future and far future game and couldn’t commit to one. Not to even mention the main story with the starborn stuff that was poorly done.

It has also surprised me how little support the game has gotten, it feels abandoned after the first year or so.

I doubt I’ll play the game much outside of occasionally replaying it for mods.
