I feel like the reason company’s don’t want you to buy physical copies/sell them anymore is because when you buy a physical disk, you own that game yourself. A lot of people don’t know when you buy games on Xbox, PlayStation etc, you don’t actually own them if you buy them through their store. You pretty much purchase a “pass” that lets you play the game, but they can revoke it and change anything they please because you don’t own it

Cheap watch. Cheap flimsy poor quality plastic case. Only cool thing is the pointless credit stick used once… via reading, to download your non physical game. Then its a paperweight. Its literally a gamecode on a paperweight… This is almost as dumb as the mini fridge that holds 3 sodas, sucks power, and takes 2 days to get under 50f.

Starfield is not a perfect game but i think my favourite thing about it is that it shows bethesda is learning. They still have a way to go before they start making 10/10 games but compare this to the fiasco of 76 and it feels real good to know they are genuinely trying to do better while still pushing their own limits forward

Stop complaining about there not being a disk, my PC does not have a blue ray drive or a dvd drive, my case does actually still have space for one , but that’s a rarity today and I don’t want one either.
Now here’s some calculations:
A modern dual layer DVD can fit 8.5GB on it meaning that it would take 17 disks to install the game. And that at a rate of 11Mbps oh would take 3 hours and 32 minutes to just transfer the files, swapping the 17 disks not included.
For blue ray things look a bit better, 3 disks and 46 minutes to transfer.
My Internet connection would only take 24 minutes and actually did only take that time cuz I am playing the game rn.
So stop for the love of god, crying about these steel cases, the credstick is actually a really nice idea.
Or do you want it to be a 256gb NVME usb c stick? I’d be on board with that too, when I actually get a 10 gigabit usb C port.

If they hadn’t had blown the entire budget for the game on this crap, maybe the game itself would have been more intresting.
Instead, I paid 70$ for Creation Engine Base Asset world and have to wait for Modders to turn it into a engaging playable experience.
From the combat copied and pasted directly from Fallout 4, complete with “quick melee bash” to the Destiny/Borderlands gunplay (the further you are in the game, the longer you shoot something) … Starfield just seems really, really incredibly “just ok”.
I know people like my brother, NPCs that LOVED SKYRIM and LOVED fallout 4 though and they are gonna sink their individual 1000 hrs into it but I just couldn’t imagine.
I just recently uninstalled Fallout 4 for a modpack called Capital Punishment. It blends F3 with FNV, and it is SO HARD TO GO BACK TO FALLOUT 4 with its shitty dialouge, unchanging world… The combat is gorgoeus but the praise ends there. It doesn’t “feel” as fun underneath it all.

Everybody is impressed on the credit stick, but I can’t believe anybody would pay the deluxe edition for a digital copy of the game. We’ve seen too many great games get taken off the market and I’m not a paying premium price to not have a physical copy.
As cool as the digital game code is. There is nothing like opening up a collector’s edition game and popping in the disc for the first time.

Bethesda has always had dope collectors editions, getting a power armour helmet, a replica pip boy, replica terminal, you had the anthology that came in a replica fat man nuke all life sized if i recall. think one of them may have even came with a bottle of nuka cola if im remembering correctly.
Pretty good track record, except the fallout 76 “duffle bag”, but pretty much everything about that game was a trainwreck at launch so the fact thats the only thing that suffered in the collecters edition is all good imo, nobody was buying the collecters edition for the bag, it was 100% for the helmet which i think most people thought was good so who really cares.

I would say one of the most unique collectors editions, however nowhere near the best collectors edition. The Original MW2 collectors edition came with a pair of fully functional night vision goggles, thats way cooler than a smartwatch…
