Must do The Vandguard Questline(Terrormorphs are the closest you’ll get to Demons in this game) along with the main quest of course. You must also kill any and all Terrormorphs that you can kill

I don’t think the issue was with the Ashtas, all wildlife is pretty tanky, you can even see it in the start of the video when you laser some of those crab things vs bandits/etc. My guess is they have insanely inflated HP so they pose a threat and can’t be ignored.

It isn’t Skyrim again. It’s more like…. Daggerfall in space, huge game world with tons to do and maybe 10% actually being important. Still a pretty good game imo

The incinerate perk you get from level 4 lasers is health percentage based. It’s not a flat damage amount, it scales with the health of the enemy. Also as you noticed, the cutter procs it like crazy. Guns with incinerate, corrosive, lacerate, and radioactive are similar as well. Each applies some sort of %health effect. If I recall correctly, corrosive and radioactive both have a 12s internal cooldown and are a bit stronger, while the other two have slower damage, but you can continuously refresh the effect (it doesn’t actually stack as far as I know). These effects are nearly mandatory to kill high level terrormorphs.

The reason incinerate is particularly strong is that it has both an upfront (12% health) and over time damage effect (something like 6% over 4 seconds I think?). The over time effect ticks continuously so long as you keep applying it, while the up front damage procs often due to the high fire rate of the cutter. Corrosive is the other up front damage source (24% health iirc, roughly double what incinerate’s instant effect does), but it has a 12s cooldown.

Now that mods exist on console….. a starfield as a group run is needed !

I’m not sure why this only now popped up in suggestion for me… On Very Hard, when it was the hardest, though, I did some fun runs, all with power use, mostly in NG+ across a huge level range: the cutter run, an unarmed run, a blade run (aka swordmage), some combos of those without helmet/suit/clothes (just boostpack, because I’m not a total masochist), runs without using vendors except for starships, etc, etc. The most challenging was trying to reach the next universe at the lowest possible level (noob-unity run) which I got down to 18 … I might have done that one variety on Normal…Nishina is a nightmare when you need to avoid killing all those Cataxi.

I know this is old, but the Cutter is considered a Heavy Weapon, and is affected by the Heavy Weapons perk.

Doing my 9th NG+ with my character with my son sitting here, and he pipes up with “give your guy the Adoring Fan and then avoid him the entire playthrough”… thanks Nerdbit, you have poisoned my entire family now.

This is going to be a challenge.

My view on ship combat is it’s all just one big Radroach in Fallout 3.

Now if only NG+ didn’t suck the weapons out of your inventory after each time you beat it. Yeah, if you play the game normally, odds are you have offensive and defensive powers from the get-go, but they’re so situational or consume so much power, which by the way regens slowly unless you use quantum essence, that you’re better off buying a weapon with the creds you get from meeting with constellation again. And yeah, i know that meeting with constellation gives you a random weapon, but you know what would be better? Starborn weapons. Like a melee weapon, rifle, shotgun and heavy weapon. Make them the most customizable and upgrade with your NG+ progress like the suit and ship. I find it hard to believe that the starborn enter a new universe and just scrounge up a new gun, when the unity has the power to gift them with a literal ship and suit. And fucking POWERS. The weapons could have various frames, for example the melee could be turned into a sword, knife or other melee weapon, the rifle can obviously be a sniper, assault rifle or just standard rifle, could make the shotty a semi auto or full or pump action, and the heavy could be one of the many heavy weapons in the game. Could even have the option for EM function for the discerning pacifist.

WHy exactly did they fight you so hard, when quite simply it’d been easier to help you once it was clear you could get the pieces, and they could have just used it right after you and been in another universe away from ‘that you’, and kep their immortality powers growing, then rolled on forever once they gained the ability to shift at will.

I get it, but either the starborn don’t die.. which begs the question .. why the fuck even start rolling against someone who’s curvestomped your entire setup along the way (knowingly or not), and if they do die… why the hell even risk fighting someone like that and risking just how long of playing the restart button time & again?

It’s clear some of them have lost all sense on what time really is for a human, and … IDK, it just feels dumb as shit use of of a multi-universe setup, and depending on how far the rebirth goes… IDK..

How I wish the perk system worked:

You use perk points to unlock the initial tier of a perk, and earn the next tiers automatically upon completing their related challenges without needing to spend more points.

Also, you don’t have to unlock a certain amount of level 1 perks to gain access to the level 2 perks and so on. They are all immediately available, except that level 2 perks require 2 perk points, level 3 perks require 3 perk points, and so on.

There is a neat little puzzle in the multiverse quest that you can do by complete accident. I won’t spoil the results, but it is worth it.

A good trick to fighting the starborn that makes clones of you is to equip a melee weapon, that way the clones will all spawn with a melee weapon then you can just equip your guns and go ham. (You can also do that same for your companion)

Spoilers don’t ruin anything. If the surprise is the entire content than the thing is garbage. What is gonna happen once you play it once? Never play it again?

(Note: I have never played the game but have watch many people play it.)
If you picked “Wanted” at the beginning the randomly bounty hunter would show up to attack you (if you wanted more combat, also their loot. You can always pay it off.)
Parents Perk: you have parents you can visit but they will need some money, but will eventually buy you a ship and weapon.

(Also the ships lasers are kinda cutting tools, they cut through the hull of enemies ships.)

Hey I have a challenge idea – can you beat Fallout New Vegas as Randall Clark – this means that you can only use the desert ranger combat armour and the survivalist’s rifle as well and by the end of the game you must have 100 in survival and as a bonus (this is optional) you can only use healing items and any other items other then ammo, chems, and caps from the survival cache’s. For the ending I would say the NCR because the desert rangers was absorbed by the NCR so it would only make sense because the armour is called the desert ranger combat armour. I don’t know about special stats though you decide.

Do fallout 4 as the scout from tf2. You can only use 3 types of weapons: -Baseball bats- swatters, shotguns, and semi/fully-automatic pistols. Your only companions can be Mcready (Sniper, must only have sniper weaponry) Curie (Medic), Strong (Heavy)
Main rules: Favor damage boosting weaponry over defense, get the 2076 world series bat (Optional objective), and be a jerk as much as possible.

Anything needing high intelligence isn’t an option since the scout isn’t canonically smart enough for it. (This means you can only modify your guns using pre-build modifications from other weaponry.)

Stealth is not an option because a scout goes in shooting, not hiding.

you’ll be limited to service rifles (the unique variant in honest hearts is allowed) 9mm hand guns and revolvers and improvised explosives (alternatively you can use whatever they used but the ar style rifle is imo the most iconic) special stats can be what you see fit but tag skills are guns, explosives, and sneak (the first two is self explanatory, sneak is because of the guerilla warfare they used against the brits and planting sneaky bombs) and it would make sense imo to go for a yesman playthrough cause independence and all that.

I don’t think space combat counts towards only using a specific weapon. It’s not part of normal combat. Separate system.

I now remember how I did the end game. Went in with basically no anmo, no heals, running and ducking looking for a way to heal and eating everything in my inventory. Died a lot

I’m surprised nerbit hasn’t made a fallout VR run. After all fallout VR feels like a whole new experience compared to regular fallout 4.

Due to the nature of this game, most of the only runs are automatically failed. No kill everything (essential NPC’s), No pacifist (Mandatory Kill quests), Starship mandatory battles (Kills all weapon only runs), No powers only( again mandatory kill quests before you can get powers that will enable)…. As such there would need to be various asterisks next to all of these at minimum.
