Thanks for this interesting and excellent video on crafting and how it can elevate a game if done right.

I think that while Bethesda didn’t invent the crafting system for games or rpg’s, they did refine & define it and Skyrim wouldn’t be half the game ot was without it.

There are only a few complaints I have about Skyrim’s and Fallout’s crafting otherwise they made the games better with more replay value.

In Skyrim I wish legendary and Daedric items were a bit stronger to compete with crafted weapons armor.

In Fallout I wish there was less settlements you could fix or create. I think your suggestion of ten would fantastic amd maybe another five in far harbor.

I also didn’t like that without mods you couldn’t get rid of all the ruined buildings or clutter in settlement building to truly make it your own.

I look forward to your future playthroughs and hope to see more videos like this as well.

The things you are calling wrong and then offer fixes for are your completely subjective speculations. To be honest, the games crafting systems are fine and they are a great improvement. Over previous titles there is more options and you have to do research which also take materials. Things can be tweaked to the preferences of each player. I do agree but but I disagree with your overall sentiment that there’s anything fundamentally wrong with the Starfield crafting systems.

I have not played Starfield, so this is probably an inane question, but did they set up the crafting system to be more realistic, as they imagined real life space travel might be?
The weight of materials, or lack thereof, in Skyrim, was useful, but certainly not very realistic. Then again, the Elder Scrolls universe is not a real place.
Space travel could actually be a reality in the (near?) future, and addressing things like weight and availability of resources could be a real problem.

If you’re willing to spend money on credits there’s a mod made by Bethesda themselves called ancient mariner module. It adds a wooden chest that you can add to you’re ship, and it has infinite storage. You can add it to you’re outpost to.
