Starfield – A Complete Critique | Part 1.5: The Updates

Part 1: https://youtu.be/GK4E2Ih7f6o

It’s time to beat this dying horse even more!

We’ve given Bethesda Game Studios nearly as much time as CD Projekt Red took to fix Cyberpunk, so it’s time to ask the question: Is Starfield any better now? Oh, and we can also finish Analyzing the game.
Seriously though, following Part 1, the announcements of updates and then the god-awful crowd control PR disaster that was the Steam review replies, myself and Evan felt it was best to give the game some time, to see what they do.

BGS haven’t shown themselves to be the company that is interested in full overhauls, the one time they did do it, for Fallout 76, was likely a large reason for Starfield’s own development being maligned – so the chances of them doing it again… were low.
What we have had do go some ways towards improving what Starfield has to offer – improving being the key word. If you bounced off Starfield originally, nothing we have seen will be enough to change that.
If it was a game you think you might enjoy with some major improvement, then let’s evaluate and establish if these make that difference.

The big ones you’ve probably already heard of are the new difficulty options, 3D surface maps and ground vehicles.

Yes, I am back to Starfield. God save me.
I hope you enjoy this look over the updates that have released since launch, and a taster for the massive Part 2 coming later this year.

I was more impartial here, and that’s because the updates are a step in the right direction for the most part (but no where near enough to make it worth it).
The vanilla game we’ll cover in Part 2 though, does not deserve me being so… forgiving.

Still insane to me that Starfield only has human characters in it. Even Fallout at this point has more alien and anthro species than Starfield, and that’s a post apocalypse setting. Being a furry I’m obviously biased but like damn

Todd’s philosophy for building systems-based games is totally fine. A lot of really great games are systems games with emergent behaviors and mechanics. Rimworld comes to mind, as does a lot of older BGS games. His problem is that they didn’t do what he was explicitly talking about. Starfield’s systems AREN’T robust. The content generator doesn’t take into account whether or not a planet has a breathable atmosphere when it places food items outside, the crowd generator doesn’t take into account that the crowds of nameless NPCs don’t react at all to anything except the stimulus of taking damage, the loot system doesn’t take into account what NPCs have equipped, etc and so on.

Be honest, everyone bailed on this game because it was more woke than Snkw White 2025. Endless hordes of insufferable diverse girl boses. Hard pass.

54:20 really nice to see people who find it easier try viewing things positively. It’s not like I can’ t be extremely negative about things but I find it more intellectually satisfying to my particular worldview to attempt viewing good sides.
It doesn’t mean giving cruel behaviour a pass when it needs to be confronted however

Todd is an interesting person. In some ways I can’t understand his perspective at all, but I share a love of wandering places in games.
It’s always better to have meaningful activities to do, yet i’ve spent an hour walking along a stream in Fallout 76, simply enjoying the sun, plants and cheerful songs on my radio.
It’s so easy to lock onto someone’s mistakes and tear into them but there are frankly so many of them in the world, it’s just more interesting trying to understand his tastes in gaming and I appreciate the thought he puts into certain aspects of the games.

    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

Hearing Todd talk about deliberating dumbing down areas so no one needs a map because literally a monkey could find their way through blindfolded is frankly disgusting, but it also explains how so much of this has neither rhyme nor reason. It just “is”.

The way todd talks about game dev, makes me feel like he just wants to do a systems based game design a la Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, or Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, in which gameplay comes from the concert of intricate game systems.

But the expectations and technology and tools of which Bethesda has nurtured over the years favors more handcrafted accessible games, like Skyrim and Fallout 4. What an interesting game development studio Bethesda is.

    • @Calbeck
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

I was very much DE-impressed with Starfield between when it was announced – when it looked like it was going to have a lot of immersive meat on its bones – and when it launched, showing almost all of that had been a facade.

Nothing I’ve seen since has recaptured that original teaser-trailer excitement, and as a result I’ve bought and played none of the game itself. Nor has any of the gameplay I’ve seen to date encouraged me to do so. So, absent a total overhaul including a LOT more content – like, about twenty TIMES as much as the reveals showed – then I’m just going to keep playing and enjoying my modded-to-hell version of Fallout 4.

    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

No matter the flaws of this game, which are numerous, I can’t play it again until at least the first and second act of the main quest is rewritten. The story just sucks; lame and condescending. Also, this would include giving the player actual choices, which as it stands right now, no where near an RPG.

    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

I hate the “fuck it we’ll give you a million sliders and you make your own difficulty” type of difficulty setting, because most of the time it shows the developers couldnt be bothered to balance the game themselves and is just 1 degree less lazy than the normal “you do 0.2x damage and the enemy has 5x health” difficulty.

I want difficulties to have intention and care put into them, I also think its completely fair to expect that from a multibillion dollar studio backed by microsoft lile bethesda is…

Also, I dont think its fair to judge this game as “still in development” its not marked or sold as early access and to make it even worse its 70 dollars with a DLC out another one on the way.

CDPR had the decency to NOT release dlcs until the game was fixed and they even had to cancel 2 of the 3 dlcs so they could finish the game, these 2 examples are not even comparable

    • @Rockport1911
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

8:00 Game difficulty is always hard to balance but Iam baffled not many games have a working dynamic difficulty system that reacts not to a players level or stats but to how good hes actually playing the game.
Kinda like a rubberbanding in racing games or loadout preference to the loosing team before the next match.
Or making enemies harder ( better smarter enemies not bullet sponges) or lighter when you die alot in a certain section.
The level scaling in BGS games never really worked that well to adjust the actual challenge the player faces.
However its great that they atleast put in all these sliders for the option to adjust difficulties individually, great feat for a studio that forgot critical stuff like an FOV adjuster at launch again.

Aside: Unfortunately, Starfield can’t be fixed. The core mechanics, design and story are bad. What a disappointment (in a consistent series of increasing disappointments). Content is king. This project, as is, shouldn’t have been greenlit. I blame it on Bethesda management. From what’s been reported, specifically two people.

35:00 The idea of surveying feels weird because it feels like you are the first one to be there, see these plants, rocks and animals…. but then there’s an abandoned refinery 1km away and a small scientific base. Everything makes you feel like you are far from being the first one to be on a planet or moon, you are told by characters that you are exploring, that you will make the first step. Good luck getting somewhere that doesn’t have whole ass factories, refinery, outpost or any other variant possible.

The expanded options menu actually looks pretty nice, and I really don’t have an issue with tuning difficulty or spending time in menus whatsoever. Never cared about the whole notion of “well that’s not the player’s job, it should just be good from the start” because there is no objective standard of difficulty, and pretending otherwise is very silly.

But my actual issue with the game was just that lack of well-distributed content. The cities are packed to bursting with points of interest despite the often samey aesthetics, while everything outside them is barren. No Man’s Sky has added so much content over the years that its maps would take hundreds of hours to completely exhaust of new things to do, but Starfield hasn’t even put in NMS NEXT levels of new things to find and engage with. If I wanted to really get lost in a vast open galaxy I’d… Just go back and start a new file there, probably.

Through all the interviews I’ve gathered that Todd is now too old to correctly interpret what the audience wants. I turn 39 this year and have accepted that most mass media isn’t made with me in mind and I think Todd was so obsessed with making something HE would like he forgot the much younger paying audience he needs to attract might not want the same experiences as him.

Starfield basically needs better ‘anchor’ planets, the same way malls have anchor stores, places that are basically the Elder Scrolls/Fallout-like experiences, but the game lets you go out and do the space stuff too. Basically, it needs 4-5 planets where the settlements are built out and the explorable area is completely fleshed out at about the 1/4 size of FO4. That’s it, that would be the fix. Outside that, it’s just too disconnected. No one gives a shit about power leveling, or how laughably broken it is, in any of their other games because no one cares, no ones showing up for a beth rpg thinking … man I hope I dont become an op arrow sniper again or become a walking nuke launcher, they are thinking … I wonder what zanny shit I am going to happen upon?

    • @JaySeeGamer
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

Starfield, worse than any other critique of it, is just boring. The worst part is that it isn’t the concept of it that is the problem, it is almost entirely down to execution. I suspect Bethesda has got away with being ambitious in the past because they had extremely competent and talented people at the lower levels to execute it, but at this point have churned them all out, and expanded to the point of dilution. Todd and the people at the top that have stuck around at the top will still have a good vision for their games, but they will be relegated to poor implementation.

I’ve had so many big game breaking bugs and little annoying bugs and everything in between it stopped being funny. i had spent more time trying to fix damn thing than playing it. the longer i played the worse it got, towards the end the game was literally imploding in front of me. it was so bad i wasn’t even able to finish the game and had to watch ending on youtube. bugs RUINED this game for me!

Re; difficulty. I have a hard time understanding why open-world shooters just don’t follow in Borderlands 2s footsteps (which was basically a shinier version of Halo 2). Everyone was happy regarding mobs; higher difficulty meant more elites and maybe more normal enemies. They’re trying to fix a problem that has been solved more than a decade ago so I just fail to see why this is so hard to iterate upon. Everyone ia trying to tweak sliders ad infinitum but sliders don’t make people happy.

I couldn’t explore a single planet. It takes days and weeks. And what do they reward for that? Todd, get up from your chair now and explore your planet. Please. And then sell your game.

Love the idea of exploring distant planets and space travel which was the reason I bought this. The problem however is that the game at times feels like it was made for kids because some of the dialog is so ridiculous. It also seems that white men have gone extinct in this universe with 80% of all characters are mostly people of color and asian women who on top aren’t even visually appealing.
This is simply ridiculous and obviously forced by DEI and woke agenda.

Usually I’d cut devs some slack by getting a feel for their game’s pros/cons, but I really struggled to find the pros that stood out enough for me to like this game.

I liked the idea of ship building for example, but it is a real shame that you hardly spend any time with your ship in the game. On the contrary, I was really disappointed that most of the travelling in the game was done via a sloppy map UI and most of the combat is on the ground.

I can keep going but I think most people can say something similar about pretty much any aspect of this game, whether it be the story, combat, RP elements, base building… etc There is so much ‘nothing’ in this game.

After playing Oblivion and Skyrim, my favorite BGS games, I just can’t help but think that the devs at Bethesda really did not get the opportunity to showoff their real strengths through this game. I am a huge sucker for sci-fi and exploration so I really want BGS to take a serious re-try with Starfield.

I think the biggest issue of Starfield is that it is not an improvement of any gameplay systems BGS had, and more of a a few steps back. I dont think it is a bad game, honestly, i just think that it has very bad writing and not enough “spice” put into it. It feels bland and generic, like a game your grandparents would like so to speak. It’s hard to describe whats wrong with it, but game feels like developers were never interested in making it in the first place.

Scanning and surveying are all boring in No Man’s Sky, SF and Elite Dangerous, I have yet to see a AAA game’s answer to make them interesting…other than Scavenger SV-4’s rover mechanic, you control it from your ship at the orbit, you can only grab a numbers of samples each time, then you need to send the samples to your science station on the ship to research because you have no clue what they are, you can use some of the sample to upgrade the rover, you can sell them for profit, and some of the samples are…very interesting, and some of them you want to throw out of the airlock, and it is a horror game.

I think since Morrowind, people have put up with Bethesda’s foibles because, with every game the whole was always greater than the sum of its parts & how mod-friendly they all were. One look at Nexus tells you just how insanely popular modding Bethesda games has been. However, since Zenimax bought them out their decline has become increasingly obvious to anyone paying attention. Each iteration seemingly offering less than its predecessor, to the point that ‘Midfield’ has become a testament to just how far they’ve fallen – stuck in the past, overly reliant on the loyalty of a fanbase whose goodwill has long since been squandered by Bethesda’s ludicrous greed & litany of broken promises. Who on Earth thought that making a Bethesda game that was not particularly mod-friendly was even remotely a good idea? While their competitors have evolved, Bethesda have not. Their games are decidedly underwhelming, stale, seriously lacking in innovation & to exacerbate all this, a vast bulk of the modding community appears to have finally waved a white flag & abandoned them too. As a result, I don’t hold out much hope for ES VI. I still hope I’m wrong & they somehow manage to surprise everyone, knocking it out the park but sadly, I just don’t believe they have the talent necessary to accomplish it anymore.

    • @LukasJampen
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

The skill system in Starfield is the worst it’s ever been and it’s not even seperated in trees that make sense. Why are outpost skills in multiple trees? if you want to properly engage with them you need so many skills you basically criplle your combat or spacefaring abilities and that all for a mechanic that interacts with nothing else. Why bother with outposts to create resources when you can just buy them in stores with all the money you’ll never use for anything.

Also all the survival mechanics have clearly been implemented and then severly neutered. As you mentioned the food is one aspect, the afflictions another which is just annoying as the medicine to heal it is abundant and found everywhere and doesn’t really affect how you play cause you can just heal through it.

However, I’ll wait for a year or two more, and if these fixes trickle in, I will go back and play the game. Same as I’ve been with No Man’s Sky.

Also I want to play the game unmodded (For some strange reason)… 😀

It would have been so simple.
Every areas of the main quest + major side-quests : hand-crafted.
    All the rest procgen.
    There, best of both worlds.
Add in Daggerfall-size procgen dungeons, and it would have been perfect, for me at least.

Ok, perfect is way too strong of a word, since the issue of the gameplay and UI and writing and and and, but with what we have, this would have put in out of the low-mediocre range.

It is funny hearing Todd talk about the idea of being the only person to land on and survey a world, yet in Starfield that is almost never true. Load new chunks of a world, and every time the computer may just decide to put a mine there, or an outpost, or a pirate den, or a crashed ship, or even just spawn in a pirate ship landing for you to fight.

I waited almost a year, so I never tried the game as released. It’s a Bugthesda, after all.

Honestly it’s not a terrible game, if it was released in isolation rather than pretending it was Skyrim, it would be a yawn and move on, but the hype set the bar so high that it turned mediocrity into hatred. And rightly so, I think.

I do miss just exploring. Wandering to see what I find was the best part of Skyrim and Fallout.

I don’t even want to watch another whining about the game, which for some reason I came across in the recommendations. I predict another whining about mining minerals, scanning and DOWNLOADS (most of which can be allowed using the world map and most of which can hardly be called loading at all). I’ve been playing the game since the release and due to its freedom and modularity, I just haven’t been doing what I don’t like for a long time. I don’t have a cutter in my inventory, I buy resources, I don’t get in the way of loading, for most of them I manage to take only one sip of coffee, I don’t do meticulous scanning of planets. Do I see the resource I need? – I set up an outpost and mine it, I don’t see the point in exploring the planet 100%. For me, planetary exploration ends up admiring beautiful landscapes and outposts wherever I like. I go through quests, the plot, pump up the character, put mods for weapons, test them in the field, enjoy the atmosphere) this is what most of those who really play do)

    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

things i hope they add/change that they probably wont from someone who still hasn’t bought starfield but has played other BGS games:

    1. motorcycle/atv vehicles. just more vehicle variety. let us store loot in vehicles too.

    2. physics to static objects. while chairs or other objects that npcs interact with might be a problem to add physics to, they can still add physics to things like trees, posts, rails etc. also make them “breakable”

    3. bring the 3d interior maps to every interior. crazy that its a thing but to only a few interior spaces.

    4. fix the first expansion, at least improve the story/dialogue/choices. i heard a companion in starfield had ties to the expansion like nick valentine did in fallout 4s far harbor dlc and they fumbled it in starfield, so yeah fix that as well

    5. let me fly my ship in a planet and let me go into space seamlessly

    6. bring back the fuel system but as an optional thing you can toggle, and not just for your ship but for land vehicles as well

    7. Let NPCs/Enemies ride vehicles too

    8. Add a BUNCH of new, fun random encounters and more unique procedurally generated locations to planets, overall just more variety so that going from one location to another is less boring. this could also tie in with 7, let enemies with vehicles encounter the player too

im fully aware that non of this would happen but i like sharing my ideas, who knows maybe Bethesda will do some of these and modders will add some too lol

I have finally played through this game and honestly I found it incredibly frustrating that I could not find a single planet in the entire universe that was actually solitary. Why is there some kind of human building on every solid surface in the universe? I understand we are enterprising and have a reason to look for all the planets in this game story, but the universe is a big place and with in infinite possibilities I should run into at least one planet or moon where there’s nothing but me. Why did every single planet in this game feel like a trip to my local corner store where I had to look out for unexpected social interactions?

The game lacks quite a bit, but something it lacks that I don’t hear people talking about often is the hook in the beginning that really tells you what the setting is about.

Think of the first time you saw a Mass Relay. Or the Tantive 4 running from that Star Destroyer. Or that triumphant trumpet heralding the Starship Enterprise. What does Starfield have? A slow, boring descent into a mine, an esoteric cutscene that tells you nothing.

My biggest gripe with Starfield has always been how thin they stretch skill points between things that really should be gated by credits or other systems instead. You want good gear? Skill points. You want basic combat functionality? Skill points. You want social mechanics? Skill points. Housing? Skill points. Better ships? Skill points. You want to use gear mods? Skill points. You want to carry more? Skill points. You want to be able to move around the map properly? Skill points.

I think i like this game because i didnt have any expectations and wasnt hoping for any certain features.

    • @ryrin6091
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

Todd isn’t even technically wrong when he said that running out of fuel is just a fun killer, but he’s missing the reason why. The game lacked the underlying systems to support a real fuel system and the consequences of running out. If the planet exploring aspect was fun then running out of fuel and being stuck would be a fun role playing experience. But it’s not fun because there’s nothing to do on planets and they’re all barren. Fixing this would require fixing multiple underlying systems because the whole foundation is rotten.

Imagine you screw up and run out of fuel and have to land on a nearby planet to find or make more. This could involve setting up an outpost, building the necessary structures to manufacture the fuel, gathering the resources to refine into fuel, fending off wild life or pirates. Maybe there’s a small chance of nearby ships hearing your distress beacon and lending you some fuel. But of course none of Starfield’s systems work together in this way. Every system works in isolation of every other system so the friction of each one was sanded down until it was meaningless. It’s why outposts are pointless, it’s why shipbuilding is pointless despite being well done, it’s why hazards like hot, cold, and toxins are just flavor instead of actually doing anything meaningful. On and on the whole game is like this.

The thing is, the buggy is also terrible on generated planets — most planets have ditches and rocks and ledges and flora that constantly get in the way of the vehicle and the vehicle controls are so clumsy it becomes a pain to try to wrestle it around every obstacle without it flipping over or tipping sideways or getting stuck

Starfield 10/10 game. If you hate it, you have a serious problem.

Your video starts off with you mentioning the steam review replies by the company stating facts against review bom💣ers, ie gaming terrorists, which primarily are three types:

    1. 100 million jilted sony ponies ie the jealous evil step mother
2 & 3 her two ugly daughters – fascist racists & arrogant ignoramuses

Starfield is literally the Cinderella game. Her haters have brainwashed gamers into stockholm syndrome so that they at first appease soft faced teary eyed gaming terrorists, then end up with prisoner of war syndrome when the gaming terrorists didn’t get their way. A syndrome that leads to hate against something that is loved.

So let me add to that developer’s reply to the game play fearures found in Starfield :

Mining, dungeoning, persuasion conversation, object persistence, looting, literature reading books & slates and records, outfits, lockpicking, thieving, fps, outposts, building outposts, space suit, space suit modifaction, weapon modication, gravity mechanics, boost packs, boost pack modication, variant terrain, biomes, fauna, flora, item harvesting, item crafting, fauna farming, flora farm outposts, caves, weather hazards, horizons, variant atmospheric conditions, sky planetary motions, planet mining maps, space ship building, ship fighting, ship boarding, ship decorating, ship cargoing, ship passenger, ship crew for stat effects, ship weapon module placement, object drop persistence in ships, space station docking, zero g gravity mechanics, space activity, ship to ship trading, space ship piracy, ship to ship communication for tips, space ship random events, space ship power management, capital ships, jumping between star systems, variant factions, variant faction story missions, companion npcs, relationships, divorcing mechanics, companion affinity, faction affinity, imprisonment mechanics, grenade play, object hazards, tank canister explosion types, object physics, ragdolling, outpost takeover, item stat boosting, magazine collection stat boosting and iten unlocks, a newgame + that carries on the story mechanics and skills, skill point management, background roleplay, trait role play, character selection, character customisation, cooking, robots, passive mechanics for control over npcs, fauna hunting, planet scanning, fauna and flora logging, rescue hostage missions, bounty missions, … I’m sure there’s a few more. And lot more with modded stuff, like Screen Archer Menu by Maxie for photomode.

I count 102 individual unique game play features, each that could on their own be a single game.

Either way, you need therapy. Or Robocop to land in your cyberpunk and get rid of all the punks.

An issue I have with modern bethesda skill systems (starting with skyrim and only progressively worse with each iteration after) is that the perks aren’t an addition to your game to make it more fun, it’s something that makes the game less shit to play.
The starts of these games tend to be so dull, it’s no wonder why players use exploits to skip to higher levels so that they can actually enjoy themselves. Like, why do I need to get to like level 17 and put two ranks into local leader on top of having 6 charisma just to be able to place down a weapons bench? It honestly feels like they put in all these mechanics and just cut them from the player’s arsenal arbitrarily. Rewind to Oblivion, the perks were just that. Perks. With the exception of magic, they’re all new gameplay enhancing things like disarming opponents, a buggy dodgeroll, and what have you. This is on top of the skills improving the functionality of things increasing attack or potency. Now days, it’s like “do you want to build a base? you’re going to arbitrarily need to reach x level and put y perk points and z skill level” and some of it is literally cut features like in skyrim you can’t learn any more than 1 attribute from an ingredient unless you get to level 70+ alchemy and put 8 levels into crawling up the perk tree, making it require either you just use a guide or getting to that point and once you’ve eaten everything you just open up the ol’ black book and refund yourself and put your points into something *actually* useful.

43:07 so a quick tangent about this: I have some friends who worked QA at Bethesda and were put on Starfield during the months leading up to its release. The consensus was “everything is awful and this game isn’t ready.” The biggest issue seemed to be that Bethesda’s company culture is biased against QA as a whole, with developers frequently ignoring feedback and pushing out features, just to end up shocked when the player base would prove them right and tear it apart.

So, do you want to spend ten minutes traveling from one planet to another, or not? You should decide what you want before offering a critique. They could place all the planets within five feet of one another, like in No Man’s Sky, I guess, but is that necessary? Why is it such a problem to simply choose a planet and load it? It’s not more immersive to fly from one planet to another in less than a minute.

Also, no, a flat, top-down map would absolutely not help you in the cryo lab. It’s a multi-floored building. Interior maps would be pretty useless in this game, just as useless as in Fallout 4, in finding your way around. And if you want a 3D interior map that you can float around and zoom in on in order to find your way around… just find your way out of the building. It’ll take just as much time.

38:00 And you shouldn’t, because that’s the point of Bethesda games. To have activities for all kinds of players. I never ever cared about surveying, or building, I got my exp and cash from looting, but I appreciate their existence, and I appreciate not being forced to engage with any of that.

30:00 “the addition of ground vehicles is impressive!”
Is it? It’s 2025, not 2005. Adding ground vehicles shouldn’t be any more impressive than adding in anything else.
“Driving a vehicle seems like it’s not designed for it. Like you glitched into an area you aren’t meant to get into. Nothing knows how to react and nothing has physics. But I love it.”

Starfield reminded me that people make games, not studios. Bethesda has had a couple of klunkers over the years, but now they’re in a spiral down, clearly because the talent has moved on and now they’re left with the Accounting and HR departments designing their games.

I reinstalled this game when the DLC came out and I uninstalled it before I even got to it. I was tired of all the loading screens, uninspired RPG mechanics and much more that’s already been talked about. I have about 100 hours in the game with multiple new game pluses, and all I remember is just being disappointed and bored.

    • @Cathuulord
    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

Honestly the biggest disappointment I had with Starfield was the procedurally generated planets, literally none of it was worth exploring. The contrast between the real handcrafted quests and the randomly generated bs was so vast it felt like a different game.

The DLC planet showed especially just how much better an experience the game is when 90% of the map isn’t randomly generated and each dungeon (ideally) has its own story and reason for existing other than filling your inventory with garbage.

    Would love to see:
    1. Codex / Bestiary of our *discovered* flora & fauna (with images). 👀
    2. New full companions & romance options! (with evil/ neutral morality & loyalty missions).
    3. Optional cinematic finishers, stealth kill animations, & optional gore / dismemberment. 🤘
    4. Interesting / wild space POI’s outside of orbit in DEEP SPACE between the stars! (giant asteroids we can land on, space temples, twisting wormholes we can fly through, black holes, space horrors!).
    5. Expansion where we encounter less advanced (non-technological) societies that were seeded by the Creators. Where WE are the advanced aliens landing on their planet.
    6. Settlement / LIST overhaul. Temple puzzle overhaul. & new (more interesting) powers.
    7. Ability to swim underwater, submersibles, & a secret underwater city / faction in an expansion. 👀🐠
    8. Option to purchase (instead of craft) the outpost buildings / city furnishings. Why do I have to build my bed in my penthouse apartment 😅
    9. Starship Troopers crossover BGS creation (like the Doom one).
    10. Expansion of the Creators lore – don’t make them future humans, or AI. Let’s get creative, original & weird.
    11. First Contact DLC! – even if it’s lovecraftian entities instead of humanoid aliens.

So starting to watch this video made me think of Daggerfall Unity and OpenMW.

Is there a way on either of those to easily get every mod your need in one sitting, or are we still stuck with manually downloading and installing 100+ mods in the correct order?

    • 2025年 8月 20日 9:55am

I still feel like Starfield has potential. I actually find the game decent, I liked the game. But I didn’t love it. My biggest gripe with the game is its level design.

I feel like if the game wasn’t so big, the game wouldn’t be so half-assed with its level design. If the game just had *one* solar system with 8+ planets in it. We wouldn’t have bland, wasteland-looking planets. That’s my opinion anyway.
