I’m Done With Bethesda
Until we hear actual news, I’m finished. I’m tired of talking about Bethesda content. New videos soon about things I’m actually interested in. Hope you enjoy 🙂

I want u to read me bedtime stories as i fall asleep, lmao ur voice is so soothing for some reason
Take a look at the Tainted Grail Fall of Avalon game, it is an evolution of the TES formula, and a proper dark fantasy, you will love it.
ES6 will probably suck. The only good games Bethesda has ever “made” are the games Bethesda didn’t actually make. Quake and Doom awesome games with Bethesda name on it, Yet IDSoftware makes them. Elder Scrolls Online, the only good Elder Scrolls game, Zenimax made it, not bethesda.
its crazy for bathesda to release this game after cyberpunk 2077 and pretend this is fine for people to consume
3:42 you and me both.
Bethesda doesn’t care about you. Stop caring about Bethesda. The next games will be basic crap that will bore you to tears. Starfield is the blueprint.
Old guard Beth guys have become wealthy, have yachts , vacation homes and a mistress. Who has time to build a game?
Keep in mind the oblivion remaster to this day never got fixed and is still 90% broken.
RIP elder scrolls 6. It will literally follow vanguard and avowed cause all new games must follow Xbox’s new “ inclusive “ game design.
Isn’t this just Stockholm syndrome… 😂🖤
LOL Bethesda is never releasing TES6. Never.
Well if this is the end of bethesda hopefully the devs at tainted grail fall of Avalon can continue to advance and fill the void. The game impressed me with everything that it had for a low budget indie game then surprised me even more when i found out they inly had 30 ppl and this was their first game and it also sold for 45 dollars. Performance could use some though so thats why i say i cant wait to see them get better
2:25 the excitement fell off when type 1 type 2 popped up on the screen 😂
Also, I expect a fallout 3 remaster announcement to be next. i doubt its elder scrolls 6
I’m a little bit like you. I’m into Skyrim-like rpg instead of hoping for Bethesda to fulfill its freaking role as anointed developer.
I beat Tainted Grail, it was rough on the edges but felt like an evolution on the BGS formula. I think the Wayward realms will be good as well.
you’ll be back…😂
The lack of transparency and the exclusion of their fans is what’s doing me in.
You should have jumped ship since Fallout 76.
Maybe CD project Red idk
They should stop trying to create rpgs. They just can’t do them.
Wtf does anyone give 2 cramps about Bethesda in 2025 get help people.
With all of the cuts that are happening round 2 of cuts, studio’s closed, games terminated. Starfield is on the chopping block. And how long is it we have been waiting for ES6 far to long. And now it is the radio silence is deafening. Bethesda is a money pit, MS will not put up with that for long. The only thing they want are hits. Big pay days. Bethesda is a bloated company it’s on the chopping block too. You would have to be a total idiot not to see that. I love Bethesda Skyrim, fallout 3. but, their days are numbered the vision and spark are long gone. We are just waiting for it to die.
Also, as a businessman, it drives me nuts… How do you take your most commercially and critically successful product and then go to sleep for 15 years without a follow up in a timely manner? Greatest loss of opportunity.
Bethesda thinks they make as good/better products than rockstar LMAOOOO
I have been playing computer games since the ZX Spectrum era in the late 80s. After the horrible slow death of Sierra and their adventure games, which was my teenage obsession (King’s, Space, Glory, LSL), Bethesda was my next obsession. Started with Morrowind and continued through 2015 with FO4. AND then they did 76 and I never played it. And then they took a lifetime for Elder Scrolls. And now? I don’t give a shit. I just lost all hope with them, and I am hard-pressed to even get excited about TES6 cause of the quality of everything they have put out in a DECADE. Which is… 76 and Starfield. And that’s it. Oblivion remake was outsourced, don’t forget. I haven’t bothered with Starfield, honestly everything looks dated and boring about it and I can’t be bothered. I REALLY doubt they have it in them, I really think they just… fizzled out and lost touch and their stubborn attachment to that stupid engine with its loading screens is just… done. Sorry to be pessimistic in my outlook. Since then, Kingdom Come, Witcher, STALKER universes have captured my attention and everything is just… better. So, I think it will be a case where I will let Bethesda be a memory of my 20s and 30s and now in my 40s, I can enjoy things I actually enjoy. Time and place for everything, and Bethesda’s time is up.
I still hope TES 6 is good. I honestly feel that Bethesda has lost thier focus since Fallout 3 and Skyrim were the last great games they made.
Fallout 4 was too goofy and Starfield is just bland.
Tainted Grail is probably the closest I’ve felt to playing Bethesda classic games.
Todd… todd todd todd. I dont really have words anymore because we’ve already slid this far on the brown waterslide that it’s sorta pointless beating this horse that has been dead for god knows how long.
Daggerfall: it’s empty but at the same time not. It’s pretty damn good, and has a TON of depth to it. Take out a loan you don’t intend to pay back, buy a ship and sail into the sun? Don’t mind if I do.
Morrowind: combat is little wierd but otherwise YES.
Oblivion: a little more simple but still a great game despite some of its dungeons, and the Oblivion gates. Leveling was retarded straight up yo.
Skyrim: Dragon, and sweet roll + arrow to the knee = Game
Fallout 3: pretty good. If you’ve played the previous games then Fallout 3 could turn out disappointing for you.
Fallout 4: WTF happened to Fallout! What did you do to my Fallout Todd! Legit if I saw Todd in the street after this game I woulda thrown hands.
Fallout 76: hhhh… why do i even hold out hope anymore.
Starfield: pre-order a special addition with the matching controller. Plugs in over 160 – 170 hrs into the game… id rather play Battlespire.
Fallout 76 NOW: …huh?.. Oh yeah, this game still exists… id rather sit on a pinecone.
I feel terrible. When the remaster dropped it gave me an internal joy, I can’t describe it for 2 weeks I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, but ever since it died I’ve had such a sad mindset when I’m playing games. Seeing everyone enjoy the game I’ve enjoyed the most made me so happy, and now that it’s gone I’m in a terrible mental state, it sound corny and satire but it’s true. I just don’t know.
To all the defenders of Starfield. Your game sucks. The end.
Maybe… and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.
Congrats on this great personal development! Grieving is hard man, I feel ya.
*You Ain’t Never Done* 😬
To be honest I am not exited about the new elder scrolls ..every person that was there in the biginer of Bethesda is gone so I have no hope for better games ..Rip…Bethesda
My Bethesda journey started with Daggerfall in the ’90s, and I was absolutely hooked. The world was so vast and immersive that I never finished the main quest—there were just too many distractions! I loved owning a house, a ship, and a horse cart; they were perfect for kicking back or diving into adventure whenever the mood struck.
Next up was Arena for me (having to go look in various shops until i found it in a bargain bin). The story was okay, but I couldn’t get into the XP and leveling system. The skill-based progression in later games felt so much better.
Battlespire was a chaotic good time with friends. Despite the crashes and glitches, we had a blast and appreciated what it was trying to achieve.
Then came Redguard. My brother adored it and saw it through to the end, but platformers aren’t my thing, so I didn’t finish it.
Morrowind was a revelation. It took everything I loved about Daggerfall, added an incredible story and refined systems, and became the first Bethesda game where I completed the main quest. I kept replaying it for the alternate paths—diaper-butt character models and all!
Oblivion won me over with the Mazoga the Orc quest. It’s still my all-time favorite because your actions visibly changed the world—Mazoga patrolling the eastern shore as a knight was so rewarding. But finding her dead (she died way too easily) always hit me hard. It showed how her choices, not just mine, had weight; she’d die to prove herself a knight. That said, the main quest never hooked me, and I hated how monsters could invade and wipe out NPCs—a frustration that carried over to Skyrim.
Fallout 3 and 4 didn’t grab me, even after 100+ hours each. Mods were the real draw, especially the Warhammer 40k ones in Fallout 4. But they’re a faint shadow next to Fallout: New Vegas. Despite its linear design and rocky start, New Vegas nailed story, choices, and consequences. I’ve logged over 1,000 hours across Steam and GOG versions—and probably way more by now.
Skyrim: A World Alive, For Better or Worse
Skyrim is a masterpiece in spite of itself. The civil war mechanic was a standout—it let you reshape the world in a way that felt tangible and meaningful. Towns would change hands based on your allegiance, whether you backed the gritty Stormcloaks or the disciplined Imperials. Walking into a city and seeing new banners waving or hearing guards grumble about the shift in power made the world feel dynamic and responsive. It wasn’t just flavor text; your choices had a visible ripple effect, from the dialogue to the atmosphere. That kind of player agency was a glimpse of Bethesda at its best, making you feel like a force in Tamriel’s political mess.
But then there were the dragon attacks—oh boy. They were a brilliant idea on paper, injecting chaos and danger into every corner of the map. You’d be minding your own business, bartering with a merchant, when a shadow swoops overhead and all hell breaks loose. It was thrilling… until it wasn’t. Those random assaults could obliterate NPCs you’d grown attached to or derail a quest because some dragon torched a key character. Nothing stung more than fast-traveling to Whiterun only to find a pile of ash where your favorite blacksmith used to stand. That unpredictability was immersive in theory, but in practice, it often felt like the game was punishing you for caring. It’s a flaw that highlighted Bethesda’s struggle to balance freedom with stability.
and After a while, they became too easy to take down for you as the dragonborn, you would shred through them like paper and that would only make them lose all their weight in the world, they went from epic to annoying pests, leaving behind a pile of bones and scales, but who cares about that after your 20th dragon kill, you have a pile of them in a chest somewhere and half the npcs would be dead.
the Respawn system didn’t help either, you clear a dragon out and feel a brief moment of success but then they would respawn later to ensure your victory means absolutely nothing, the consequences, even after finishing the main quest abscent unlike Mazoga from oblivion, she at least left a memorable story behind, her choices and story mattered, so did yours if you helped her…
The main story? Meh, except for Paarthurnax—he’s the soul of it. I ditched the Blades without a second thought because killing him felt like betraying a friend. But becoming guild master of everything with zero effort? Absurd. Most quests lacked failure states, consequences, or real choices—a trend that’s only gotten worse with time.
Starfield: A Universe of Missed Opportunities
Starfield broke my heart. I wanted it to shine, to be the next Morrowind or Skyrim, but it’s a shallow mess. Consequences only kick in if you shoot civilians—otherwise, your actions barely ripple. The main story is a slog of endless radiant fetch quests that leave no mark on the world. In Skyrim, picking a side in the civil war changed the map; in Starfield, you’re lucky if an NPC remembers your name after you’ve hauled their cargo across the galaxy. The quests feel like a treadmill—repetitive, disconnected, and devoid of stakes. It’s a far cry from the days when Bethesda made your choices matter, and it’s painful to see how reliant they’ve become on a radiant system that was already wearing thin a decade ago.
It took that same vibes and cranked it up across an entire galaxy. You could blast through a bazillion bandits—or whatever ridiculous number—and they’d just respawn whenever the game felt like it. Same deal with the factions: join one, both, neither, it didn’t matter—the universe didn’t bat an eye. You’d think taking out a horde of enemies or picking a side would shake things up, but nope, everything just resets like you’re stuck in a cosmic sandbox with no memory. It’s disheartening because Bethesda’s shown they can make choices matter—Skyrim’s civil war actually shifted the map depending on who you backed. But lately, it’s all radiant quests and endless respawns, no depth or scars to show for your actions. They’ve got the tech to build these massive worlds; they just need to make them feel alive by letting our victories—and losses—leave a real mark.
The procedurally generated planets didn’t help. The promise of a vast, explorable universe sounded epic, but the reality? Barren rocks and copy-paste outposts that suck the life out of exploration. Where’s the handcrafted charm of a Vivec City or a Cyrodiil countryside? Instead, we got a galaxy that feels like it was designed by an algorithm with no soul. The lack of unique locations and memorable characters left me drifting through a void—both literal and emotional. It’s not a universe I want to get lost in; it’s one I want to escape.
Fallout 76? Never touched it. Its issues speak for themselves.
As for The Elder Scrolls VI, I’ve got no hope left. Bethesda’s track record, refusal to hear feedback, and toxic work culture spell disaster. They’d do better handing the script off to an AI than relying on their current team.
I’m too old now (just 35, but still) to really be anxiously awaiting any game coming out. The wait times have broken any chance for me to be hyped about anything, but I remain interested. I watch any and everything speculating or wish listing features, but I’m not thinking about the upcoming games in my normal day-to-day. Definitely never pre-ordering anything (and definitely not playing Starfield!) lol
“I don’t want to talk about Bethesda”
*talks about Bethesda*
*spouts bullshit about Starfield*
Unsubbed
Bethesda needs to start a monthly dev vlog/blog if they’re ever going to regain our trust. And take in our criticism if they do so.
Hey I know this is a bit unrelated but for someone who has never played Oblivion should I give the remaster a shot?
Somehow Mr. Matty Plays is still able to make content and pump out Bethesda videos every week, idk how he does it 😂
Oldhead here: Fallout 3 and Bethesda suck heavily. Never ever even finished this BS….
Are u related to HorseBeef MMA Channel btw?
My condolences.
When I heard about Starfield, I bought an SSD because the game needed it.
But I had some concerns about Fallout 76.
When the bad reviews started rolling in, I was glad I didn’t waste my money and time on Starfield.
I’m not sure about this, but didn’t Bugthesda delay Starfield for a year?
Bugthesda is a member of the Dead Companies Walking group.
Companies that used to be kickass, now need to be kicked to the curb.
Companies that have a new game coming out, but I’m filled with dread, or even worse, apathy.
I don’t have any hope that Elder Scrolls Six will be any good when the DLC of Starfield was ignored by so many players.
If you want to do alchemy in Oblivion, you have four pieces of equipment to work with. Skyrim has a table.
How much streamlining/dumbing down is going to happen to alchemy? What’s going to happen to the other systems?
What’s going to happen to the story and quests?
Maybe Tainted Grail will be fun, or Expedition 33, or other games.
Like war, Bugthesda will never change.
Wait until he finds out that EA releases the same slop of a game every year if he switches. (I know he’s joking)
Best of luck. Take a break or whatever. We’ll be waiting and listening for ya.
Side note: Was playing Skyrim (ps4) while having this YouTube vid as a radio, and found myself admiring the look of the rocks in starfield shown in this video. I’m not gonna buy starfield, but I’m hoping ES6 achieves a lot of good points similar to Skyrim; more than just pretty rocks; as nice as it is to have better graphics.😂
BGS Wars episode IV New Hope
If TES6 is shit. I’m moving on.
Wayward realms, once lost games. They seem to know what they’re doing. The Wayward realms seems like an awesome game. What they are promising is something I’ve been wanting since I was a kid.
But Tamriel is where I spent my childhood, dreaming. I’m loyal. But one more betrayal. I’m done, they will capture no more of my dollars.
5:86 *Dragon Age/Mass Effect fan here* First time? heh heh.. Nah, I feel ya bud. It’s a shit feeling.
when fallout76 came out, I suspected it but when they went back on their microtrashaction promise in fallout76, I knew
bethesda is dead…so I’ve mentally bookended the ES series with Skyrim..if there’s an ES6 and it is better than baldurs gate 3 and clair obscure combined..is stable and comlete from day one, comes in one maybe two editions at most, is reasonably priced and surgically clean of any and all things microtrashaction ..and that includes not adding it a bit later..then maybe I’ll play it..but if not then..I jus’t don’t care anymore
Before Starfield I would have preordered the deluxe edition of TES6. Now I will wait for actual reviews before pulling the trigger. But just like you I feel that I didn’t get $100 worth either.
You are all to emotional invested…
Remember back in 1994 when Square made Final Fantasy III, and we had to wait until 2009 to play Final Fantasy IV? Neither do I.
It all takes way too long, by the next fallout game I’ll be in a nursing home
Could be worse. Could be Bungie. Hyping nothingburgers again & again.
Stick in there bud. Try other games, I like your content, your editing, your voice. Talk about anything you like bro, we’ll watch
Been playing Bethesda games since Morrowind, when they got the Fallout IP and dropped FO3 I was blown away. Been a hardcore FO fan ever since, but Bethesda dropped the ball a long time ago. Not coming out with anything meaningful since FO4 has left many of us with a bitter taste. Cyberpunk became my Fallout and I don’t know if Bethesda can bring FO or TES to the level of what’s coming out now. They’ve set the bar but cant keep it up.
Bethesda shoulda taken more from mass effect.
Even andromeda has more interesting world building.
You should try expedition33.
I used to be so so excited to watch bethesda showcases after they dropped the TES VI teaser but year after year with nothing, i just don’t care about what they wanna announce until the one thing i give a shit about actually has some news.
When I played starfield within the first 3 planets I explored i had the same POI, The same note locations within and the same loot chest in the same spot at the end I was just like nah bro. In that moment what magic the game had was stripped from me and I just stopped bothering to explore outside of story locations.
It’s about time we start showing our hate towards Bethesda, they could TOTALLY show some glimpse of what they are cooking up with ES6 but no, they would rather remaster oblivion in a buggy state and not make a performance update, and show us more “StArFiElD”. Bethesda died a long time ago and I will bet my LIFE SAVINGS that ES6 will be TERRIBLE.
But what about a new skyrim release in 2025?
My guess is the es6 game is too woke or not woke enough.
This video again? Beating a horses skeleton at this point
To add insult to injury, there’s no communication at all from the devs. Heck, even huge corpo gachas like Genshin Impact present more interaction and that’s saying something.
They don’t seem to take feedback at all. I mean how do they even playtest their games? Or do they even do independent playtesting anymore?
It’s all so weird and backwards.
But with that being said, Bethesda was like that since Oblivion, silent as a grave.
No you’re not, stop capping 😂
They wouldn’t announce ES6 at games Com. No way. They would have their own event for the announcement
see you in 5 years
It’s truly unbelievable that they weren’t working on ES6 at all through Fallout 4, 76, or Starfield
Haha! Entertaining video, my man!
So when Starborn DLC launches, will you make a bunch of videos? Surely you will!
If the main criticism of Starfield was essentially that it’s lacking content, it would make a lot of sense for them to shift major focus/resources to adding substantial content to it, rather than working a bit of ES6, Fallout, and Starfield. And the Fallout TV show was a hit so that(Fallout games) should be the next major focus. ES6 can and should wait to be done masterfully.
dude it makes me sad also, biggest thing to me was starfield always steers you towards being a good person. You cant play as a bad pirate even. CDPR looks to now be leading the pack in open world RPG with cyberpunk and now The Witcher 4.
Imma be so real, as soon as they remaster FNV I’m done that’s all I want. I have zero interest in any future games, I’ve already replaced Fallout with stalker.
IMO starfield is proof of concept at best. It needed five more years and mechs. Game is fucking gorgeous though, watching some of your footage
Awe I can’t blame you wanting to change your channel name & picture, I ended up trying star field on gamepass for 40 hours & I had to stop I felt overloaded with loading screens & boring gameplay, the straw that broke the camels back for me was I was building an unarmed character but for some reason in star field you can only toggle armed & unarmed in the inventory menu! I was so confused since fallout 4 & vagas let you toggle between the two on the d pad
You’ve encompassed my sentiments exactly. I wish I could be optimistic, but after FO4 and then 76 to get SF… damn.
I can’t lie, I never played Starfield, but I LOVE SKYRIM & OBLIVION 😅 Still, I feel you. And I just subscribed for your unfiltered opinion. 😎 Love it! ❤❤❤
“…an airy fart” – no thats you little pony, you’ve been eating the wrong kind of hay stuck in the wrong kind of barn.
Starfield strikes at the heart of workplace explotation. That’s how the story starts.
we never play vanilla Bethesda get mod packs that make games playable Star Wars Genesis for starfield is amazing
meanwhile kcd2 released in 2025 and will have 3 dlcs in the year 2025. Bethesda is just not a competent company anymore.
Ubisoft too. My hope is pinned on indie and smaller developers like Fundog Studios, Larian, etc.
New tamriel rebuilt dropped. Reject modernity, embrace Morrowind
Nevermind all the BS Bethesda has done over the last TEN years just now, the put fishing into 76. For the PLAYERS enjoyment, no, no just to have the EXCUSE to try an SELL $30 BAIT packs. Tells me WHERE their “mindset” is. People will say, “that’s a different team”. Doesn’t matter, they’re just doing what they’re TOLD by ..higher ups. Higher ups who have a “say” with Elder 6 an Fallout 5. I don’t know IF Bethesda will EVER get my money again. Right now? It’s not looking good.
Haha taint! 😂
There will be new game devs and new good games..why bother anymore 😊
Starfield sucks. Maybe one day they will learn to make games great again😊. Probably not under the Microsoft Umbrella though!
Skyrim and Fallout 4 were the last real Bethesda games. We can mod them endlessly.
For the love of God folks, stop lying to yourselves. “Type 1 and 2 bodies are the future and all you have to look forward to. Story and gameplay haven’t mattered to the Lord thy Todd in 10 years.
Remember that Microsoft is now in charge.
And your words, HorseArmour, about modern game dev : “LAZY SH*T” must be engraved in gold. It is so true. And I’m dead serious.
You said it right Bethesda only lives in my memories now, they just dont give a fuck about their games or fans anymore, they are greedy ,lazy, I mean come on it takes them 10 years to make a mid af game, they are already dead.
After news about layoffs in Microsoft gaming department we might actually hear about TES 6 sooner than we think, HorseArmour. Because in my humble opinion even M$ bosses with infinite money cheat have reached such level of irritation about effectiveness of their gaming branch (and especially Bethesda Game Studios) so even they have started to ask “Why we spend our money on this pile of dog water when this Bethesda organisation have spent 1 YEAR to add a car…. to a game? Just WHY And what our money spent on?” That is why even this cringe master Phil Spencer with his slaves is starting to make moves to activate Todd’s memory about “” What it was like to actually DO WORK?” so Todd actually starts doing some WORK. It’s just my guess.
They don’t know how to take risks anymore. They haven’t made any great games since oblivion and morrowind.
Just play fallout 4.. Thats never a bad time.
Maybe you could do some videos about the old RPG classics? Like Kotor or mass effect?
Just for a mental break
I’m a long-time Bethesda fan, by that, I mean I’m old. I feel the same as you, but I’m a little more pessimistic about ES 6 because of this new paid mod model they’re using. It gives them even more of an excuse to put out a half-assed game and rely on modders to clean it up, because now they get a piece of that pie. There’s a whole new generation of gamers who don’t know the old Bethesda and will continue to eat up whatever they squeeze out. I’m fully prepared to move on from this new, lazy, greedy Bethesda. I’ll watch ES 6 closely and I hope it’s great, but after the mess of Starfield, I’m not sure they have it in them.
The sphere in gaming has gotten really gay it’s like a whole bro community if it isn’t COD it sucks if I can’t circle jerk while shooting stuff hearing My homies voice it sucks.😂
I love starfield! Skyrim was ok.
I wish vehicles would be backported to older games, even if it’s just framework data. I’d like to have working vehicles in 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4.
And yeah, i want Bethesda to go back to making RPGs, not Open World looters with light RPG elements, Or “90% of planets are empty by design”.
I love how you didn’t even have the strength to record your own Starfield gameplay and just used random lets play footage instead. If that doesn’t prove a point then idk what does.
Bethesda made some bangers YEARS ago and even then their games were buggy and relied on modelers to essentially “finish” the game”s development. They’ve been fallen ever since and I can’t wrap my mind around why people keep giving them passes bad game after bad game.
With all that said, I sincerely HOPE TES6 is amazing but my expectations are underground.
I actually bought a console for Fallout 4 (A PS4) at the time. It was so shallow. The story sucked. I left it for years and came back to it about 2 years ago with all of the additional content. If Bethesda had kept on constantly developing it like Hello Games had developed No Man’s Sky post release, it could have been Epic. Instead it was abandoned and left to modders.
The building goes hard in F4. I love that element of it. I wish that the story matched. I could blame Emil Pagliarulo all day, but it was a team decision at the end of it.
I couldn’t buy Starfield. I knew something was wrong. It looks to be the most hollow of Bethesda’s games to date. They could easily fix it, but aren’t even remotely trying. The DLC they made doesn’t touch the sides.
Young man, you are starting to get it…
Does everyone here know Electronic Arts? I call EA the digital antichrist. A mindless, greedy, exploitative, disgusting game developer. But, guess what? I used to love EA back in the 1990’s. Any time I wanted a new cart for my Sega Genesis, seeing the yellow tab on the box meant it was an EA product, any probably worth buying. Is that the case in 2025? Hell no. Studios come and go. They rise and fall. You guys may be too young to have experienced this reality, but you are now. Bethesda and CD Project Red are now as dead as Electronic Arts. More to the point, does anyone expect EA to release a good product anymore? Of course not. Well, guess what? Don’t expect anything from Bethesda or CD Project Red. A possible exception being the rumored Fallout 3 remaster, but that’s still not a new IP. I have my eyes on The Wayward Realms, and nothing else. I don’t care about Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5. I know I will be in my 60’s before those games arrive, and those games will most likely to Starfield tier goyslop. If you want to learn more about the dynamic of entropy, just look into The Great Game Crash of 1983, and also the list of studios killed by Electronic Arts. Nothing new under the sun, guys. Little Todd Howard is just following in the footsteps of everyone that came before him, and he too will be forgotten, just like all the great savants from LucasArts and countless other companies. It is the natural order.
I kinda just saw the Body Type stuff and then the censorship of female armours so early on in the Oblivion Remaster it just killed it for me. It just seems like contemporary politics pandering, and I am so fatigued by it. But it wasn’t just that, it was a lot of things. Fallout 4 was kinda mediocre until all the DLCs came out, and I found just getting power armou right off rip and without training was just a hype kill. But Fallout 76 wasn’t good for a long time, as well as that bag fiasco or the cheap Nuka Cola bottle thing. I think they’re going down the wrong path in all ways. I miss Fallout 3, New Vegas, Old Oblivion and Skyrim, those were good games. The games have less edge, life, or reason to care. Barely any RPG mechanics. It all feels safe, sanitary, predictable, cold and corporate.
I worry i wont be alive to see Tes6 from the ammount of time they taking, that or my hands wont work as well anymore to play games by the time it comes out
Bethesda is now microsoft property, and this says a lot. They fit together in the worst way possible 😂
I was done when Fallout 4 was released…
After fallout 76, and especially so, after Starfield I knew it was over. Microsoft “Bethesda” is not that old Bethesda that made the games I loved playing.
The Oblivion remaster with type A and B, and flattened 0 boobs wide shoulders female characters, the enshitification of female statues, removal of female armors, just double confirmed that Bethesda is dead.
Clickbait video 4 views.
I’m betting there has been nothing on Starfield this year, because Microsoft told them to drop it for not being profitable enough.
I don’t believe you
good
I’ve been through this sort of disappointment before. I am an early adopter of video games; I got started in the late 1970s. The first RPG I ever played was Ultima III, in the early 1980s. I was hooked. This game has an open world that, by today’s standards is tiny, but at the time felt like a huge, mysterious place to explore. I still remember the time that my ship went into a whirlpool and ended up in the hidden land of Ambrosia. That was a real adventure. I also remember getting attacked by the floors in the final castle before meeting the big final boss (which wasn’t even a combat encounter – it was a puzzle – quite a novelty for the time). Ultima III hasn’t aged well, and I find it tedious now, but I’ll always have a soft spot for it. Ultima continued to be a groundbreaking series in RPGs, and most Ultima nerds would agree that it hit its peak with the two-part Ultima VII, which is still an all time favorite for me, and I still revisit it on occasion. Sadly, Ultima went into decline after this, and in hindsight, the cracks were starting to show in Ultima VII. Ultima VIII has many issues, and it released in an unfinished and buggy state. Ultima fans mostly hated it at the time, but the passage of time has been somewhat kind to it, as it took the series in a controversial but interesting direction, and it has the bones of a potentially great game which was unfortunately not allowed to come to fruition. Ultima IX, on the other hand, was an unmitigated disaster that spent years in development hell, and it spelled the end of Ultima as a single player franchise. Ultima Online was successful and is still operational today, but it is irrelevant to me because I despise even the mere idea of multiplayer games.
Todd Howard reminds me in some ways of Richard Garriott, the creator of Ultima. As time went on, especially after Ultima VII, Garriott took some wrong turns and got out of touch with the fans of his game. Nowadays, he is fondly remembered as a pioneer of RPGs, but he is a has-been who hasn’t done anything relevant in a very long time. I fear that the almighty Todd is heading down the same path. In following Bethesda games, I feel like history is repeating itself. Daggerfall and Morrowind got me hooked on their formula, and their games through Fallout 4 kept me going even as the cracks were starting to show. Then, Fallout 76 came along. Even if it had been a masterpiece, I would have wanted nothing to do with it since it was multiplayer, and to me, multiplayer is the essence of evil in gaming. Then, Starfield came along, and it looked like it combined the worst aspects of Daggerfall with the worst aspects of Skyrim. I haven’t even bought it yet, but maybe I will one day when it is on sale for $10 or so, just so I can tinker around in it and see if I can find anything about it that looks remotely entertaining. I’m afraid that the next Elder Scrolls game will be Bethesda’s Ultima IX – an unmitigated disaster. I hope not, and if it is actually good, I’m not one to argue with it, but I don’t expect much.
After Ultima went down the toilet, I discovered games like Baldur’s Gate, Arcanum, Avernum, Daggerfall, and Dragon Age: Origins. The DNA of Ultima was carried forward in these games. If Bethesda is on its way down the toilet, there will be others who carry the best ideas forward. Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon looks promising. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I think I will. I don’t like action combat (the quasi-action RNG combat of Daggerfall and Morrowind works better for me), but I hear that there is an easy mode that greatly reduces the challenge, so maybe I can play it without getting frustrated. Bethesda, from Oblivion forward, has always provided a way to neutralize action combat challenges, which I appreciate. I don’t give a rat’s ass about combat (with the exception of high quality turn based systems like Baldur’s Gate 3). I just want to explore an interesting world and experience an interesting story. If Tainted Grail provides this sort of experience and allows me to bypass combat-related nuisances, I’ll be happy with that, and I’ll be perfectly happy to relegate Elder Scrolls to the past.
Felt from all of us man
Idk I’m really enjoying oblivion, so much so that I bought on Xbox in addition to steam. I have different characters themed so can do multiple plays doing different things. Have you tried Fall of Avalon? That is pretty good.
It’s been almost 14 years since the last Singleplayer Elder Scrolls.
It’s been about ten years since the last Singleplayer Fallout game.
Starfield was an okay game that got one patch and one dlc.
Bethesda needs a change in leadership.
I lost hope with Bethesda after Fallout 1st. I pre-ordered the Fallout 76 collector’s edition… The one with the nylon bag.
As a BGS fan i totally agree
oh no what will Bethesda do without you? 🙁
They massively over hype every game theyre about to release > it’s dogshit at launch > a few patches over the next 12 months > they move onto the next project > repeat
Bro there are better scrolls-likes and first person immersive games out there. Try those. TES VI will be crap and you can see that by how poorly written FO4 and Starfield were. You pass/fail the quest nothing problem. You become the leader of all clans, even though they hate each other. It’s theme park shit. I am looking forward for Wayward Realms, Ardenfall. There are total conversion mods like Nehrim and Enderal, Fallout London and Tamriel Rebuilt for Morrowind. Amoung already released there is Dread Delusion, Tainted Grail: FoA, Lunacid. Even if TES VI released now in fully playable state and zero bugs, it would be dogshit. Better to explore TC mods, other games and genres. Bethesda is dead.
Elder Scrolls 6: 2030
Fallout 5: 2036
There’ll prob be some stuff in between. Remasters. A spin off game or two from other studios is a possibility. Most all of it will be bad or sub par. They don’t care bro. They’re just like Rockstar. They expect everyone to wait and then sell millions of copies. Difference is Rockstar makes amazing games.
Bethesda didn’t do the Oblivion remaster lol, Virtuoso did. If they had it’d be a mess, just like the Fallout 4 “Next-gen” upgrade that broke that game over a year ago. Never an acknowledgment the update was bad or that it broke the game. And never a word on if or when they might fix it.
Bethesda is going to keep letting ppl down. Hope I’m wrong but I doubt it. They’ve made consistently bad decisions for years and don’t listen to their player base.
I don’t know why you’re surprised with Bethesda’s lack of passion…especially with you’re channel’s name being “horse armor “. They’ve been slowly chipping away at their passion since Oblivion, especially with a couple of it’s microtransaction like dlc’s. (Skyrim may have been a fluke, that game had a lot of passion and good dlc). Fallout 4 was really transparent with how far they’ve gone.
This lack of passion in their newer titles was to be expected. The cracks showed early on that they’re becoming subpar. Doubt elderscrolls 6 will be good, but we’ll see.
Tbh id be shocked if we heard about starfield agsin looks like its been binned off
the character connections feel robotic which kills the involvement , all these different planets and stations are to similar to make it interesting. , it feels more like a task like being at work , then life’s Adventure ,
it’ll be okay man. its your job so you have to focus on it, but constantly thinking about bethesda isn’t normal or expected of you.bethesda is a changing company and they’re imperfect. you made some great points in this video. play some new stuff, touch some grass. see you soon
Glad you mentioned The Wayward Realms. I played Daggerfall when it was new, so I’m rather curious to see what lead devs from that game can do with LLM tech in a spiritual successor, although there won’t be anything to play before the Kickstarter early access build comes out around the end of this year, and the full game about two years after that.
Now that you’ve made this video they’ll drop a trailer in 2 days
Horse Armor. Only 9.099.099.099.999!
Wopping discount!
If they had such big plans for the next Elder Scrolls and the technology wasn’t available to realize their vision yet, why put the franchise to bed for 15 years?
Why not shelve that idea until the technology was ready and make a TESVI in the late 2010s for the XBOne and PS4 and have it be a vision they could fulfill at the time on that hardware? Then TESVII could be this grand game with future technology they’ve alluded to. Why did it absolutely have to be the next game? Nothing could’ve come out inbetween? We really needed to wait 15+ years for a sequel to one of the most successful games in history?
I know you like what you like but start trying out some different games, different genres and maybe cool off on BS for a while till something solid comes along because the burnout seems real on the BS side. All love homie!
Sorry to break it to ya, bud. But, all you have to do is look at games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to understand the current trend. The highly talented devs are leaving these big corpos and starting a studio. The corpos suffocate creativity. It’s that simple.
BGS has a lot of the same people working there, but I don’t think it’s the same studio. It’s been corporatized, first by its own success, then by Microsoft. Elder Scrolls VI will need to be very good for them to “be back”.
Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. Maybe you take this opportunity to look into other games and maybe that really takes off.
8:20 Bro is so disinterested with starfield this isn’t even his own gameplay in the background LMAO
if you look back at bethesda’s history it explains it all, when they lost the original developers and made Todd the lead guy he was the one who kept changing their old format from hardcore rpg to casual gamer action adventure rpg.
Todd has said it’s using the starflop engine it’s going too be the same they dumbed it down to those who don’t realize this have never played the original elder scrolls games also never watched the lead writer talk about making it simpler cause he believes fas are just stupid.
I hope this doesn’t come across as rude, but did people just forget that there was a pandemic in 2020, and that prolonged the development of The Elder Scrolls VI, and if it never happened, we might have gotten the game sooner? I hope this didn’t come off as rude
Hey man, as a former Bethesda mega-fan, it’s ok to lose that spark for their games, they CLEARLY have themselves.
Your channel can grow beyond the confines of what it started as, try covering other video games in the same genre or even broaching entirely new topics you might not have considered previously.
Does this mean you wont cover Skyblivion when it releases? Sorry for asking. thanks
I’ve been in your comment section from time to time, usually with a pretty negative look at this studio and it’s future. I feel the signs have been there for awhile and it’s all been a matter of time before they finally collapse.
With that said, I really would have preferred to be wrong. I don’t want game studios to die, I don’t want their games to be just another cog in a corporate machine, I would have been thrilled if Bethesda had their “coming to christ” moment of clarity and started to turn the ship around. However I really have no faith in that outcome.
Thet’ve proven time and again that they’re a greedy company who isn’t willing to put the effort in to improve, both in terms of how they practice business and how they make their games.
At this point I’m just hoping that Microsoft doesn’t turn the Elder Scrolls and Fallout into edgeless, corporate mass appeal slop.
Guys I’m starting to think HorseArmour is done with Bethesda–
Joking aside, I’d love to see you try some new games and do a small personal review of what you like, find funny, etc 😀
I remember hyping up Starfield so much, to the point where I got my dad to buy it. I never bought or played Starfield.
You should check out some of the ARPGs on the market right now like D2, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Path of Exile and Last Epoch or the new ones to come like Titan Quest 2. Those games are pretty much what I’ve been falling back to until something interesting comes along.
it got worse under microsoft xbox and probably get even worse they have proven they are all about bland and very safe games now.
thats fair…unless they give us news ill just do a different Franchise.
Hey man, make the content you want, Bethesda doesnt deserve the free attention at this point.
I firmly believe this is the last Bethesda Elder Scrolls we will ever see.
All hail God, Howard kneel before him peasants. I jest. I agree with everything you said 110%
Todd said that they’re releasing Starfield content for YEARS TO COME.
Which I guess is easy if you release trash once every *checks watch* 9 months or more?
They’re garbage as a company. All the wrong old hands being completely oblivious to reality.
All you have to admit is that fallout 76 is a better game. Then the wave of reality will strike you down faster than Umbra.
Forget
That
Starfield
Exists
.
til those fallout 3 and skyrim remasters
Skyblivion and skywand are coming out, you could also try daggerfall
next update will be a gay starfield ps5 port prob, no new content
I am pretty sure bethesda is only doing the DLC’s at this point to fulfill their post launch promises. If they don’t it’ll break some contracts and be law suit worthy
It is not all bad, tho, due to bethesda running a muck with their IP’s they have created a perfect vacuum for pearl abyss to run away with a new high quality medieval fantasy RPG
yes, bethesda still thinks silence builds hype
Yeah… SGF and the Microsoft showcase really let us all down… hoo boi.
Btw, Most of the problems with how Bethesda has been going has stemmed from one little misunderstanding. They got feedback that people didn’t like dying at the end of FO3. They saw how people were playing Oblivion and Skyrim for years at a time. People are still playing vanilla Skyrim to this day. What Todd learned from this is that people “want to live in their games forever.”
They didn’t understand that people just want to “end the game on their own terms.” Maybe they want to go back after the main story to finish things. Maybe they want to mod for years to come and mess with new things. Maybe they want to play again with a new build and try things differently. But in the end, it is always the player setting their own goal for when the game ends.
Todd thinks that giving us proc gen and AI content is what we want. That we want never-ending content out of our game so that we can “live in it for years.” So, instead of making a “good game” that people set their own goal of playing it for a long time, they are trying to directly create games that have enough “content” that you can actually live in the world for an extended time. They got it backwards, they are trying to dictate the goals and build around them instead of building something that others set goals in.
ES6 is most likely going to be proc-gen and AI slop designed to last “forever.” And they won’t ever understand why that isn’t what we want.
Wasn’t the Oblivion Remaster developed by Virtuous, similar to how Obsidian made FNV? Seems weird how Bethesda would have time to work on that game between Starfield, and it’s shitty DLC.
I would be interesting into seeing some videos from you on other games, or even mods? Would be cool to see you check out Tamriel Rebuilt’s update
The last Oblivion Remastered patch broke the game for people who have anything binded to the X, U, and L keys. I use X to walk backwards instead of S but I can’t walk backwards and shoot arrows into the enemies because the patch that came out in the beginning of June (4 weeks ago) removed these random key bindings. AND THEY HAVE NOT FIXED IT IN 4 WEEKS. A small independent dev studio would release a hotfix for a patch that broke things worse, but Bethesda released a patch that BROKE OBLIVION REMASTERED keybindings, and there has been no action, no communication, no nothing for the whole month of June like they all went on summer vacation or something. How many hundreds of billions of dollars does a company need to hotfix a fucking key binding bug that did not exist in the release-day version of the game, but they then added in with their first patch? Thank you for making a fuck Bethesda video.
It hurts that I agree with everything you said =(
I never played oblivion before and I even thought the remake wasn’t very good. I just didn’t like the game. I know it’s old but I really felt it. The copy and paste dungeon with no content worth exploring inside reminded me of Starfields planets not worth exploring. It didn’t feel like there was much to find in the world just from exploring and oblivion gates were just annoying and repetitive to with a reward that wasn’t worth it. I only completed the mages guild quest line and it felt really boring. Gonna wait till skyblivion to give it another chance.
I’ve heard others say the same
I play Bethesda games, and Rockstar, and some EA, and a ton of indie games, and all sorts of random stuff.
Like… it’s good to enjoy what you enjoy. But, seriously, there is more to the world than Bethesda! I’m not even interested in ES6 anymore because of how much the leadership has misunderstood about what players want.
I’m replaying Armored Core 6 and I got a playthrough of Cyberpunk going for my wife to watch. I’m thinking about starting up My Summer Car to have some sort of chill game I can just hang out in. There is so much more in life, and Bethesda was a big part of it. But a part is not the whole, I’m always gonna move on to something new.
But, hey! We do like hear you complaining about the studio! What other angles can you look at things? Feel free to critique, or rant, or just hate on what needs hate. If you don’t wanna do anything at all with Bethesda then just move on. I’m sorry this channel might not survive, but your sanity will.
Good luck with whatever you choose, man!
what a coincidence so am i
time to restart my skyrim playthrough with new set of LL mods
Star field is dead because the engine it runs in is bad for it.
Bethesda’s a dumpster fire but it’s okay we have the wayward realms🎉
Oh sure. So you’re not actually done. You’re just ‘done’ until Bethesda promises they’ve changed…and here’s Elder Scrolls VI.
7:11 boring unoriginal money pandering corps.
Yes you do, son! Don’t you lie to me. And after you make this Bethesda video, you’re going to make another one again and again, until we’re all dead! Just like Todd and his 80 re-releases of Skyrim.
Thirds lol
FIRST
Oh jeez
