I encountered the Calmus and Shroudbearer one after the other…I didnt fight either my starship weapon levels werent nearly high enough but my ship is maxed out. My build rigjt now focuses on outpost and social skills. I havent done the first main mission but was lvl 54… with over 300hrs in the game id been playing for 4 weeks 😅.

Ship building is the only thing Starfield has going for the game. Sad because I wanted to like the game so much but I just can’t.. Everything is just too basic..

often arriving in a new system, theres 1+ ship icons, usually the legendaries are tucked in mission free systems, though the watchtower mod had battelegio(or whatever the lower level one is called) constantly join one of the fights i was at.

Game is kind of lame, nothing really to do with your ships. Feels like wasted potential of the amazing ship building systems to just not have anything fun or interesting to do in them

I wonder how landing would be handled with M class ships. I downloaded some mods, and obviously, my ship ghosts through buildings and rocks because the landing pads are only made for normal sized ships.

So, would M class ships land nearby locations? Or would there be separate landing pads for bigger ships?

I have a X-Wing. Best mod I found. Try starfield again. Still has performance issues on Series X but lot of fun to be had. Install better vendors better loot and better legendary weapons.

Neat, i could probably build this in space engineers so i can fly it in a better game!

Im still flying the starter ship, I’m only level 8 for the first time playing ever. Man I would love a decent ship, I tried to do the “failure to communicate” mission and am having a hard time in the second encounter. Any help would be appreciated!

I found these really easy, I just parked underneath it and targeted the engines. It’s a bit cheesy but you don’t really get any rewards for doing it

Now if only they made the game be an engaging and interesting as TES or Fallout… I just can not get into this game very much. Lots of empty time, load screens, bugs, just cant find fun and when I do I run into a bug that roadblocks me. I’ve had to backtrack (meaning previous saves) or restart due to bugs in Starfield more than any other Bethesda RPG.

I faced one — in my M class Star Destroyer…

Which dwarfed this ship by 5x – with 22 turbo laser turrets, 8 Ion cannons, and 4 proton torpedoes

It fired on me first and…well…..all my turrets just turned and fired and destroyed this M class with enough force to send it back to the oxidation period

They’re rare encounters because nobody plays the game any more. It was trash from start to finish.

i got today legendary encounter of ship lvl 35 , and it was not possible to borde it and it was not from lack of traing of mi part lol

Hey Quill, I dont know if anyone has mentioned but you can tell how much backward thrust you are using by looking at the thrusters. So far I havent seen them going full blast once they reach proper range from target.

was lucky and ran into this ship and also found the spacer one that was the outer planets i ran into the spacer one far left on the map those systems cant recall what system but it was a fun fight, especially since i was in the Razorleaf

I just found this one last night. I agree it wasn’t very hard after I got rid of his escorts.

Fought this last night & it did have shields. After I took out the shields that took a while it wasn’t long till my missiles took out the ship. I only need to face the last one now, so far Ecliptic & Varuun. Must be The Spacers one. Doubt the Crimson Fleet have a capital ship.
Also does it bother anyone else when folk say universe instead of settled systems or galaxy?

They need to fix the save bloating that happens in this game where the longer you play without going through the unity you start experiencing more crashing during saves and more crashes in general

I wish there were more Class-M ships present in Starfield, even more so, I wish we could build/pilot Class-M’s too. Just recently ran into the Blattodea, the spacer Class-M and got annihilated

The Varuun ship was honestly kind of a pushover when I fought it. Although I ended up using a lot of EM weapons and missiles. So i kind of just turned off their guns.

I just came across it for the first time, killed it in 15 seconds but then again, I’m lvl 183

Starfield is a shit game.

Now I know why it destroyed me so easy. It is somewhere,but thinking it was just a ghost i had to take out, i attacked and lost. Just not paying enough attention, spending way too much time on grinding for adhesive ( Fallout flashback) and other resources plus cash . Take contraband from jail,sell,wait 8 days, do it again plus looting 2nd floor mag tech at the same run. Now i have cash just not a license for anything bigger than an A. Time to move.

There are some mods now but the normal ship parts you have to use don’t integrate well with the snapping points on the normal ship parts

Ah yes the spaceship that will be release in the game on retail boxes on the Mars colony.

If they wanna have us build ships that big I’m all for it (landings might be weird looking) but if they do then they HAVE to add the feature to place our DAMN DOORS AND LADDERS where we want. Theres already a mod that does this on Nexus and it’s so simple, they “added” all the habs that are edited to not generate any doors or ladders and then added “new parts” which are the doors and ladders.

I wish they added some kind of way to make star stations
or outposts in planet atmosphere

I actually ended up having all of these ships spawn in serpentis except for the varuun one that was in the system with akilla city

only thing i can think of right now that sucks is that you cant make a wide ship but you can make a tall ship and seems like the power and that never really matches up to build what you want without mods..

They’re actually really common and I’ve found them in every playthrough with no difficulty. They’re not even 1/1000th as rare as the Pale Lady.

I met the shroudbearer at level like, 13 or 14 but i just kept trying for a few hours untill i managed to destroy it. Worked out in the end, but i regret not waiting with it!

I want to make my own fleet with crewmen using starships to fight my battles with.

Hopefully in a future update they will add purchasable m class parts and mechs.

I got the Shroudbearer to pop up as a quest some time ago, but I either missed it or forgot to check it out, because when I went to visit later, the quest bugged out and the ship wasn’t there.

I hate that not only is there a star yard we can’t buy ships from there is a type of ship parts you can’t buy and a faction you can’t find.

The game is not big enough for the ships spent most of my time fast traveling so honestly the ships need more and after 40 hours I did everything in one play through so the infinite new game plus is trash, the characters have no emotion just like the NPCs from mass effect. This game could have been more.

I think I came across all three in one play through, to be honest they were some tough fights but man the rescores I got in return were so worth it

I saw the icon but never bothered to investigate now I’m looking for them and I can’t find them 😢

I had to fight one as well, my jaw dropped and then I had to power up for a very tough fight for level 20, my ship was close to disintegration by the end, all the allies were wrecked but one final missile barrage took it down.

I face one the Spacer legendary ship it was level 50 man I tangled with it but I defeated it eventually by the grin of my teeth.

Don’t fight em until you are strong enough.

They’ll probably introduce M class ships in some DLC. Shipbuilding is one of the strongest parts of the game and where you spend the most credits by far

The trick to the 3 legendary ships is to keep disabling their weapons.

These things are not as dramatic as they sound. While they are pretty tough for early game, once you get to class C you can tear them to shreds in seconds. And it’s not that hard to grind in this game. They don’t actually give you much reward and you can’t board them. They are not part of any kind of story arc that I’m aware of. And there’s a glitch where they sometimes despawn if you don’t destory them the first time you encounter them. So all in all, I think it’s a missed opportunity on Bethesda’s part.

Only seen it once when I jumped to a planet with the Shroud Bearer and an armed escort. I was low-level and got melted pretty fast.

wait wait, M class?? ohhh never mind I got to the part that says you cant fly them without mods lol. Sum bitch, I was gon say that fuckin shroudbearer is sick lol. I just stole a Va’ruun Eulogy II and modified it an hour ago. Ship is badass, a huge flying brick with almost perfect mobility and enough firepower to kill any and everything while having enough storage for some good looting. I love it lol.

I found the shroud bearer and couldnt kill it. It disappeared eventually but then i found the Ecliptic legendary. Took me an hour of dying until i said fuck it and changed my ship to my upgraded Star eagle and fucked it up.

These are awesome! I’ve encountered the spacer and ecliptic versions. Destroyed them and thier support ships. You have to take out the support ships first or it’s bad news bears.

Really wish I could keep stolen ships with out them falling through the landing pads lol

I wish we had the chance to build stuff like this! We could have our own flagships that we can store our normal ships in and use to fly between systems and use in space combat! Could do it so we have to purchase a starstation and have to upgrade it or something to unlock the ability to build flagships or even unlock/upgrade the starstation to unlock new parts for our flag ships! 100% I would be building an imperial star destroyer!

I destroyed the first legendary ship I found. The next one kicked my ass so I retreated now I can’t track the mission and when I go back to where it say they are they aren’t there anymore.

At 240 hours ive seen 2 and both times being on very hard at low level so had to jump away

Another note: I’ve seen them twice as often during my playthrough while my game was on VERY HARD difficulty than when i was on normal

I’ve seen 3 and only ever defeated one the varuun one was my first abd i defeated it with a suped up Razorleaf but the next 2 were the Ecliptic battleship AND i was in very hard difficulty… needless to say it was the hardest fight of my life in game

EDIT- if you compete the faction quest of crimson fleet and side against them i don’t think the crimson fleet one will ever spawn afterwards

I’ve done 2. they didn’t fire till I did, was able to do some sweet flybys. always take out their lil friends first.

Right this moment in my current play through the Legendary Shroudbearer is orbiting the moon my only outpost is located on!

I ran into it yesterday as I limped along in my stolen Phantom III that I was going to try to juice up 😂
