Starfield DarkStar Initial Thoughts
This is my initial thoughts about the new DarkStar mod. It is priced at 10 dollars which is a steal with all that is included. The most excite new feature for me is the enhanced level scaling. This mod worked great with me with no defects and the author includes a lot of documentation if you get lost on how it works. For me this is a must buy mod. I will be doing a more in-depth review of this mod when i am able to get deeper into it. #starfield #mods #gaming #xbox #bethesda

FYI. Bethesda calculate the price not the mod author.
But I totally agree that it’s worth every cent and more.
I run extreme with darkstar difficulty. I haven’t tried punish me yet.
For the uninitiated: starting by explaing what kind of mod it generally is would be a nice way to start.
I’m sorry but no $10 mod is “underpriced” considering the whole game costs $70.
Idk what this is wish he explained what it is
this is a great mod all I use its just excellent
..oh and yeah, I have absolute garbage weapons at the moment, have died too many times to count, but create vacuum is helping a bit, I also run with around 160 creations to do with ship building, difficulty and randomisation, as well as a lot of Star Wars themed ones, so getting them all to work and play nicely together is always a challenge when an overhaul like this is released, but it’s going smooth so far.
I’ve been using and following DS since the start, absolutely amazing set of creations provided by a wonderful creator. This is top notch work and a real challenge, I have everything at max difficulty and it’s absolute chaos and has really slowed down (in a good way) how I start with a NG+ I am now at Level 481 and at NG+ 20 or so, I have lost count….but the challenge of researching everything and actually having to think about how you play in a tactical sense is really good. I am a ship builder/modder and I have played around a little with the Predator at the moment, as I have no credits to build how I usually do, the base Predator is superb though.
I haven’t had much time to explore this mod yet but I think outpost building part of the game needs more of a reason to do it. I had some time to build outposts in the Vanilla game and I found shipyard missions requesting resources and materials you had to manufacture but the rewards were only a few thousand credit to set all that up. I was hoping it would unlock something more interesting aside from an infinite source of experience from building parts. If it went towards the construction of something great, a city expansion, new stations or maybe experimental jump gates. Something imaginative.
I’ve been following Wykkyd on this particular mod for a while now. I can’t even describe just how excited I am for this. Between this and SGTOWLs POI upcoming mod, this is starting to be a great year for Starfield.
Starfield walked so Darkstar could run.
I can’t wait until I get some time to play Darkstar, it seems pretty cool, it also looks well worth the ten dollars : ]
DarkStar is a freaking wizard, his mods are amazing. I’m going to get this one on my next day off and run through unity for a fresh start. Look forward to your videos on it :).
So about 30 seconds in that running around you’re doing almost triggered a migraine. I realize that I do the same thing but I guess if I’m playing multiplayer I’m sure it’s driving people nuts before a raid that I cannot just stand still.
I played it today for 3 or 4 hours. Fantastic mod. I set difficulty to extreme and Punish Me and then took a bounty mission. I got killed four times, including once by a wildlife attack. What’s as cool as the scaling is being able to build a floating landing pad and outpost in the clouds. And all the research you have to complete to craft killer weapons and armor. I can’t recommend this mod enough. Well worth $10.
I got the Darkstar Overhaul but have not installed it. I still have not gone through the unity (even at 700 hours, 400 for this character) and want to see the vanilla gameplay first.
Great preview video, Eclipse!
I hope you can also show us some combat scenes in your upcoming videos as you test the mod further. I want to observe the sponginess of combat!
I cannot move away from the tried and tested mod Ascension, which does not enhance level scaling – it eliminates it. That gives me the classic Morrowind feel, and progression becomes rewarding.
But Darkstar is super talented. I look forward to more test reports and data!
Thanks for the vid!
Been looking forward to this mod dropping 👍
