Actions have consequences & things like reputation are real. I don’t mind people having the opportunity to make sub par products & charge for them. When cash grabs are obvious, it gives me a persons works to avoid in the future. As for paid mods, if they are quality & if I like them (or even if I don’t) I have no issue with them being an option.

If I ever use a paid mod I’ll only use one from mod creators i trust or mods endorsed by trusted content creators.

I am putting out an AF version of my mod because people kept asking me to, but I did try to make it a lot better, making the Den equivalent to the Lodge as a starting place. I am leaving the free version up though. I think it is fair to give people a choice.

There needs to be a Reddit community that focuses on free mods only.

What’s a scummy thing is a mod author that pubs a paid mod and then pubs a patch for their mod that breaks the Achievement friendly in the first place. And, you’re no one to tell another person what’s trash and what’s treasure. Or do ya think ya are? I’d love to hear this.

So it’s not a scummy thing for all the PC mods not available on console? But forbid a console mod to be locked out of PC? You’re on some mass gas bud. Time to wake up. I think it’s hilarious. Mods for console only is outstanding! Try and justify it. I have all day.

Exactly what the modder Deebz said in the descriptions of his mods for xbox on 3rd december 2024 about modders which monetize their mods for the achievement friendly ” badge “…

Bethesda really needs to get a hold of this system, I mostly play Skyrim and I thought things were getting bad there until I saw the complete garbage that Starfield creations are. There are some legit good creations there, but most shit are just really simple things and extremely overpriced. This is really disappointing.

I certainly don’t get the new mods vision. I mean I never went looking for a crafting QoL as the massive lists don’t bother me, but of the 2 I think I prefer vanilla.

I don’t have anything to say about that topic but I do have a question about your current weapon mods if the creation kit is updated to utilize custom animations would you take the time and effort to upgrade your weapon mods to use said animations

I really don’t think this game is going to last a decade when the modding community feels so betrayed. The reason Fallout 3/NV and Skyrim have so many mods is because it was free. Don’t see any modders investing their effort and time into big fan projects for this game without it being a paid creation. That’s sad to me. It seems disingenuous to gain fame from making free mods to then turn around and sell them to the people who supported you. This is why I don’t buy creations. Mods weren’t meant to make money. They were meant to give something to the community of the game that you love. If you wanna make money, sell your assets to developers or make your own game. Imagine if you tried to modify an existing product and sell it as your own. You’d get sued. Drip feeding a QoL change into separate parts or selling individual weapons is scummy. So why are we okay with mods being paid all of sudden? That’s my TED talk for the day. Thank you for coming.

While I really want to see good mod authors be rewarded for their efforts, the whole paid “Creations” thing is about the worst possible way to make that happen.

For starters, you’ve got the ultra scummy Bethe$da Buck$ model. That alone guarantees that I will never buy into the system. Then you have a bunch of low effort cash grab mods to sort through. Without a rating/feedback method, it just ain’t happening. Not for me.

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

I got back into the game because of your mods. I LOVE infinite warfare’s campaign and even multiplayer, so seeing those assets in the game is a dream. Thanks so much dude, i know it was time consuming. Your mods deserve payment, not these ui mod tweaks.

    • @MindzEyz
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

Not sure what the problem is. The way any free market works is that they made something that doesn’t work great, there are other alternatives that are better. Nobody will buy it and they will either get better or stop. I’m not sure why all the judging. I know that we’ve had an exchange and we fundamentally disagree with the whole “free” thing. I respect your work. That’s why I’m going to respectfully keep trying to converse with you. Godspeed brother. Keep up the great work.

Another lazy cashgrab mod. This is really scummy.

    • @Bear-Knight
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

A Completed mod, all categories sorted and comparable UI to PraxisUI is worth money to me. NOT 3$ FOR PART OF UNFINISHED, UNPOLISHED MODS

    • @Bear-Knight
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

If someone were able to competently combine a quality UI and something to sort all the categories at the industrial workbench, I would pay money. I’m up to 135 mods on xbox. Bundles would be a benefit. I have so many tiny mods. I’m using praxisUI but I cant bring myself to download 4-5 more mods for workbench sorting

Falkland as well all my free mods work perfect all my paid mods are junk mostly.. aside from the paid content from creators who do a ton of free mods so I don’t mind spending…I buy em all for my channel and agree paid mods are shit

If Starfield is like this, now imagine the next Elder Scrolls ^^ It’s gonna be waves of Creations.
Like Bethesda making one of the Daedric quests paywalled….

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

Truth! 🙏 Can confirm looking at mod guidelines on Bethesdadotnet that you aren’t allowed to make mods that do the same job as an existing paid mod (which is pretty scummy)…

    – I’m also annoyed by having mods that are paid, but aren’t supported too?

I downloaded a mod that adds more mini-games to the lockpicking for 100Bethesda-bucks, and it’s not very well optimised, and one of the games is broken too, and no updates at all since initial release.

I paid like $1, but it’s the principle and precedent set that matters to me…

    Only mods like Falkland worth

    • @maceryker6012
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

I’m very picky with $ mods typically wait to see what feedback there is. Like when I see something like this I find the whole verification process silly because they make good quality modders jump thru hoops while lack luster can slip on thru.

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

The player home mods, as well as a few weapon mods by mod authors I know make high caliber weapons (no pun intended) are the only paid mods I care about.

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

Charging for a WIP is scammy… charging $3 for an unfinished unpolished WIP is just asinine. I appreciate the Mods who make a free mod, are up front about it, and maybe charge $1 to make it Achievement friendly. This looks like a crappy cashgrab, thank you for showing us how little it actually does.

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

I think there should definitely be more moderation from Bethesda. What’s valuable is up to the player but if there are free alternatives… then the paid mods need to show why they’re better.

The downside is that the free ones may eventually get buried (or are named something else) which i think happens with Skyrim. So the player might just think the paid mod is the only mod that does that. Amending VC agreements, like adding more price limits/restrictions would do a lot for those making good paid mods.

Trying my best to not make a video about it 😂

    • @tenathzeckron
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

Yeah, I noticed and was like, wow, Praxis is free and does the same fucking thing.

    • @hannie330
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

The quality of the creations is all over the place. You have things like Falklands which you can tell is beautifully crafted and done with genuine love and care, then you have things like this and a few others (if you know you know). I’m honestly not 100% against paid mods in principle, but the execution from Bethesda for it is pretty awful. Bethesda needs to hold them to a far higher standard of quality and refuse more of these low effort cash grabby ones.

    • @dannyrambojun4388
    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

I saw this earlier…. Like you said the free alternatives are decent mods, no need for this. There are so many rubbish mods I feel Bethesda needs to properly vet the creations to stop shit like this happening…

    • 2025年 2月 16日 9:56pm

“Oh not that one. That’s probably gonna be part 2…” 😂😂😂

The pharm bench isn’t even that bloated, not enough to need categories. 🤡

PC has even better alternatives with StarUI Workbench and such. Not bothered one bit by the XB exclusivity. Just a bad look for the author tho.

it seems like the biggest problem on starfield, there is a lot less on skyrim
