What’s crucial to me is the pacing. Origins was great, but also felt like a grind because you HAD to do SO many side quests and couldn’t move the story forward even when it felt like you really had momentum. Valhalla also felt like a grind, partly because there was so much emphasis on raiding and combat, and the world was so vast. Odyssey hit a sweet spot, but only if you paid for faster XP gains.

If Shadows can address that, maybe I’ll find an AC RPG game I can full-heartedly enjoy without an asterisk hanging over me saying I like it.

When I first started this video I was kind of expecting you’d talk about the controversy around starfield and compare it to the controversy around assassins creed. I clicked for something a bit more inciteful or maybe in tune with peoples current feelings toward triple A game studios. Thats what made me click the video. I stopped about 5 minutes in because obviously thats not the video.

I went to the main channel and started watching some of your other videos. The make or break 2025 I thought was pretty good and felt a bit more like a gaming news I used to watch like 10+ years ago. It was a bit like watching attack of the show or x play again. Still can’t believe it was 20 years ago that attack of the show debutted. We’re both roughly the same age only being a couple years apart. Hopefully you know what I mean when I say that game news reporting was just so different then compared to how vitriolic it is now.

I came back to this video and watched the rest of it. I kinda wanna hear more. I remember playing the first assassins creed. That game left an impression on me. It was a time when you just didn’t have any games out there with that specific climbing mechanic and it was mixed so well with other mechanics that made you feel like a real assassin. How does Assassins Creed Shadows hold up to that? Its in the game title that its an assassins creed game, do I feel like an assassin? is the game accomplishing what the developers want it to?

The reason I bring up about hearing more is because I also watched your video ‘The Real Problem With Game Reviews’. The way you talked about things like ‘Dude wheres my car’ I wanna see you review some junk food games. I love hearing about what people love, honestly, you could follow the channel format and do a “10 short games you should give a try”, but more then anything I wanna hear what got you to love that game. Your video really captured that feeling I’ve had a few times from games when I was younger. I actually played a game called Robo Pit, it was for playstation 1 released in 1996. IGN gave it a 6.5 out of 10. It was fun. Just a short game and I could beat up some robots. It wasn’t a generation defining game that inspired other companies to copy its mechanics. Just big dumb fun. It was my junk food game. Sometimes you need a junk food game to help you appreciate a highly well crafted game.

All of that to say, please do a review of a junk food game that caught your attention. I like hearing about them and it also helps when a hot girl is telling me about it :D. I promise to watch it.

Ubisoft just became so lazy in their work, not innovating anything it’s the same mechanics from the past 3 games. then they stop even researching on their works even brag in the trailer they put much in their researching but the people caught them very easily, from trailer tells a lot of things, even their promotional materials got called out, using One Piece sword and tell that it’s from Yasuke? wrong seaon of flowers and fruits, they have change season mechanics it’s like a sandbox game they just put it there without thinking

If it is another massive game, I will probably have to skip it. I have too much to play already.

Hey Jess this is the 2nd video I’ve seen about the new Creed game. Heard finding some targets in missions are hard to find is there no “eagle vision” in the new game??

From what I can tell, this game looks to be mostly boring rubbish based on what I’ve seen from other streamers. I’m not going to criticize anyone for wanting to play it though. I actually don’t want my character to have 50 different stat things that spin off into 100 different sub stat categories because I find that too overwhelming. Then again this might just be a disable gamer thing but I dont like when strength isnt just strength but 40 other strength categories.

I sometimes thing people are too spoiled nowadays but I’m just old and grumpy and have lived through most of the good and bad of gaming. I also enjoyed the AC RPGs well I enjoyed all of AC in general and I’m very invested in the story hell I also enjoyed Starfield. Sometimes I feel you just need to take games a face value rather than focusing on whats bad or your just always going to be disappointed.

Did you prefer mirage/traditional gameplay or the rpg style..and do u think the game is worth the pricetag it’s given.? Thank u

I never thought I would hear the term “classic AC RPGs before” and it feels icky.
Nothing against shadows, but I’m hoping the next AC is a successor to Mirage and the original games and they continue in that lineage instead of doing even one more game in the rpg style again.
AC needs it’s identity back real bad cause being considered a lesser than ghost of tsushima ain’t working out especially when GOT virtually has nothing in common with the classic AC games.

💜 I love to hear your thoughts, keep them coming. It was good surprise to hear you enjoy complex RPGs, it is not something I expected. I haven’t played AC, but mostly because they are big and they scare me a bit. What I have seen they are very serviceable entertainment. Ubisoft can crack really good surprises, and they actually did that last year, but their marketing and board fumbled it so hard that no one played those 🙁 Fingers crossed this time devs work hasn’t been in vain.

I don’t care about AC, but it like this more than viking one. Problem is that Ubisoft is not marketing their games right. I hope they don’t do this with this game, because it feels devs have done their hard work.

I greatly enjoyed Starfield, so this comparison sounds like an endorsement to me.

So….when you put in the thumbnail that Starfield & AC Shadows are the same….the first thing that comes to my mind is: “Oh, AC Shadows is BORING. Ok, good to know, I won’t waste my time.” So, ya know….just sayin😉

Hey, so would you not get a little gaming fatigue playing that many hours doing the side quests for the sake of it…as it’ll be no witcher 3, Baldurs gate 3 for example. I’m interested to know your thoughts as the gaming current trends are going with short, sharp quality narratives in the 30hrs region. Do you not think having another “Valhalla” would potentially put off gamers? And push them to games like ghost of yotei? P.s I love the lore and historical references in both games and appreciate the time,effort and money that goes into making this type of games but another 200hr AC game is what the industry needs, really?

I definitely prefer games with depth and complexity, while I think it’s fine for a game to be simple in the sense of, “take this club and bash enemies”; it’s much more rewarding when the player learns and understands the underlying processes.

I think the best games do have an ease of access, but offer a much richer experience to those who take the time to delve into their more subtle and nuanced mechanics and character assembly.

so, since starfield is a downgrade from skyrim, we are expecting shadows to be a downgrade from valhalla?

The part I don’t understand both Bethesda and Ubisoft.
They have a formula, they have an established engine, they have the talent, the budget… why does them creating any game in their franchise lines get locked up in prolong development hell for years, and then comes out looking like same game, with a different skin.

Can’t be like starfield. It looks to have good stealth and a seamless open world. Starfield is a shooter that’s not a good shooter, an rpg that’s not a good rpg, and a open world with load screens every 3-5 minutes
