Let me know here what are your biggest concerns for Starfield and what you think of it so far! 🙂

I’m not to critical with the all 1000 planets being unique. If it’s like No Man’s Sky in where some planet types have unique resources. I’d be fine with that. For me it is the ship building and base building that will be the make or break for me.

Everyone keeps mentioning that the game is not just a sci-fi but it’s NASApunk, i.e. like in real known star systems 95% of exo-planets are barren rock. No life, no structures, nothing. The only problem is that it won’t work in video-game so devs have to add something there, but still most of those planets won’t have any life forms.

All Bethesda games use procedural generation, and Starfield actually contains more handcrafted content than any previous Bethesda game. What I am hoping for is some outposts on those desolate planets. Imagine going to an ice planet and finding an outpost or base there. Maybe people settled there to hide, thinking no one would come and find them on such a cold and barren rock.

Its not just 5 things, its everything shown so far, but that’s not just for starfield, it goes for every single game out there. But ill say this, starfield seems to have massive potential to be one of the best games ever, or arguably the best

It makes me angry how many youtubers mention “procedural generation” as if it was something new. ALL Bethesda RPGs have procedurally generated worlds even the first Elder Scrolls game. Locations are handcrafted and manually added and if necessery also changes to the landscape. That’s not something new. It’s a space RPG. You should feel the emptiness of space and dead worlds. Because in reality most planets are dead and empty. It doesn’t mean you have to explore every inch. But you can if you want. And the Goldy Locks Planets aren’t handcrafted. They are also procedurally generated. Only locations are handcrafted and maybe they added some changes to the landscape manually. The map of Skyrim is procedurally generated, and also all other maps in Bethesda games.

Performance: The simulation of the world will be so taxing for the CPU that it limits the potential drawcalls (No, the performance issues in Bethesda Games don’t come from the Creation Engine alone, they’re result of the overall game design). It will be very hard to hold 60 fps on console. I predict a locked 30 fps quality mode and an unlocked performance mode that will offer frame rates that fluctuate heavily between 30 and 60 and will therefore only be enjoyable on VRR-capable screens. Still most consoles are plugged into non-VRR TVs. On PC ppl will find a solution to run the game at stable 60 due to graphics options and reducable Resolution, FSR etc. We’ll soon see mods editing the settings to also get fluid 60 on console.

I’m a little worried! If this game flops Xbox is in trouble! I’m hoping this game is amazing! key word hoping! If it’s 30 fps All hell’s going to break loose!
