I’ve been burned way too much as of late, literally all the big channels like fudgemuppet and whatnot were making semi-positive vids on Starfield. The WEEK I buy the game, 50 hours in I not only hit the bugs, but all the channels start making there “this is bad videos”😂

Cautiously…. apprehensive is what I’ll call it, neither optimistic or negative. We’ll simply see. I’ve been surprised before, that new Dune Series, everyone said it sucked, I didn’t like it’s first 2 episodes, beyond it was FREAKING FANTASTIC! Anything can happen.
Oh and by the way, oblivion remake is coming from another studio, Bethesda just gave them money really. It shouldn’t be seen as an example of what’s to come… nor do I think Oblivion is good, it’s the buggiest heap of the franchise, I’ve never come across so many game breaking bugs.😂

RNG killed Bethesda for me. They need to go back to hand placed loot and POIs and stop focusing on trying to make their games last 10 years.

They got rid of almost everything I love about their older games. Not sure turning around is even possible now. And while repeat of Morrowind situation, where it seemed to be possibly their last game only to turn them into legends, would be great, I’m not holding my breath.

Pure cope. They’ve given us no reason whatsoever to think that TES6 will be a good game. Their last two releases are fallout 76 and Starfield. Even fallout 4 was kind of middling. They’re more than a decade behind the likes of cyberpunk and bg3.

Unless the industry as a whole changes and Emil and Todd are kicked out I don’t see anything good coming.

Basically it will be more decades of fans keeping the IP alive with nostalgia and lore theories.

They arent bouncing back kiddo. Theyve gotten greedy. The only reason they survived as a company was due to the writers efforts and the fact they released morrowind on the xbox as well as pc as gaming started to really pick up in the early 2000s. Howard directing it, had very little influence on why it suceeded and saved bethesda as a studio. Theres a reason why oblivion was so watered down and it wasnt just because they blew their load on making it cartoonishly “next gen” but because the writers of quests and the story at large were gone. They got some moron writing the quests that frankly made everything a chore. Just saying, with how bad and inconsistent with lore and game quality they’ve gotten, and the admittance that 6 will be bad… they’re pretty much done. Reminds me of how blizzard dropped the ball. Remember how good diabolo, starcraft and warcraft were back then? Or how about league of legends when it first came out before they went with “pay to win by buying the latest champ”? The pattern is there to recognize.

Oblivion was the game that really got me into games, watching Bethesdas downfall has been sad, but unfortunately it was deserved. I think the oblivion remake will work out well for them, however it’s being made by Virtuos, so it wouldn’t really be Bethesdas win. They need an in house banger ala ES6, or to publicly announce that they are letting Obsidian do NV2.

I won’t be preordering either way, I made that mistake with Starfield and it’s ”deluxe” edition.

If Bethesda doesnt get rid of Todd Howard and Emil as well as drop the creation engine, they are absolutely fried. If they release TES6 on the creation engine, they’re screwed. And Bethesda needs to realise that if they mess up TES6, it will shut the company down. Because that would mean they have then ruined every single main Bethesda franchise and have release mediocre games 3rd time in a row.

TES is their biggest franchise, they cannot survive it flopping. But I am very concerned by the attitudes of the devs and Todd and Emil. They really seem to not care. I have a feeling TES6 is gonna flop and we will see the end of Bethesda in our very near lifetime.

Also, do not get caught up in the anti woke crowd. Im a male who fell down the alt right pipeline when i was 14 almost a decade ago when the word Woke first became mainstream. Its an endless pit and it may seen harmless at first but you will start to hate groups you never even cared about before because thats the goal. Remain neutral and support your fellow human instead. You dont need to understand someone’s nature, but do not show hatred for someone’s existence, it may just be the thing that finally tips them over. It almost destroyed me back then. That comment Bethesda made. Real life astronauts had fun going to the moon was stupid. First off in real life there is G forces and all, there is danger, you might not even make it off earth in the Apollo rocket. You actually don’t know what’s out there and if the conspiracy theories are true there are aliens out there and I bet not all of them like humanity. So there is enemies (unlike Starfield) Starfield only had human enemies and different, possibly mutated wildlife.

Starfield has no sense of danger. There is hardly any blood at all which further takes me out of the experience when I shoot at enemies and they fall asleep.

The only time I was slightly on edge was the missions fighting the big terror morph bugs.

Overall there is no good storyline that grabs you. The only part that got slightly interesting was the trip to NASA on earth where you discover they found some alien technology that allowed them to make warp drives, yet using the warp drives fucked up earth’s atmosphere.

Why didn’t the game start with this, with people getting the fuck off earth with it collapsing in the background?

The dimensional traveling Starborn. Once again fucking boring as hell, Awesome looking, cool and weird ship… But boring.

Bring back the lore, bring back the sense of danger, bring back the mystery and wonder. Finally learn you have an age rating and make a game with gore for that age rating and treat me like the fucking adult I am or make it G rated and then lose my purchase… this includes the DEI crap.

Bethesda should just stop making games and their IP’s must be handed over to other studios by MS. ES would be in better hands with Blizzard and Fallout with Obsidian. Bethesda would be more successful somewhere else outside of gaming and IT. They’re incompetent when it comes to those two as seen in their previous releases. What they’re very good at is marketing and advertising.

I don’t want to sound too pessimistic, but, we already know what a flop for ES6 means for Bethesda as a whole, considering how bad Starfield was. That being said? If ES6 is a success? As amazing as it will be, I think it also means it’ll probably either be the last ES title we get in our lifetimes or just ever tbh. I can’t imagine another ES game coming for decades if ever

I’m not giving Bethesda another chance. We’ve had low standards for them for too long. I never even expected them to be innovative, just interatative.
Fallout 4 introduced great verticality and resource gathering, but took away choices and RPG elements.
Startfield introduced ship building and a great take on new game plus, but do so little with them.
Instead, they want a platform for paid mods. The next Elder Scrolls will be just the fantasy version of starfield. Mark my words.

Even if their Remake is successful, and it won’t be, it proves nothing. Bethesda as a studio is shown by what they made after Oblivion and what they made is shit. Skyrim is very much overated – good looking world and music. That’s it. Everything else is either very basic or lacking.
They even had the audacity to re-release Skyrim multiple times. Bethesda is one of the worst studios right now – worse in terms of quality, vision and attitude towards criticism.
Emil, the so called “writer”, is a lazy shameless guy. A narcisist that only has a job because Todd is his girlfriend and Todd himself is a snake that i wouldn’t trust to buy me milk from the store.
Emil doesn’t know how to shut up to at least keep an appearance of a somewhat guy with some average IQ and Todd deserves to be in prison for false marketing for years, even selling hazardous items to people.
Both are complete hacks and they are not the only ones there.

It’s so naive to have any hope for this company anymore, all the talented veteran devs long left the studio, it’s just Todd and his boy Emil left, and they are the root of the problem within Bethesda.

I like this video combined with the last one. Is shows the difference between hype and hope. Similar words and both are about future games being good. But hope is just a wish while hype is an expectation.

I have had zero hype for anything Bethesda has made since Skyrim. Mostly because I just find fantasy a more interesting setting than the sci-fi/post-apocalypse worlds of Starfield and Fallout. Which worked out for me since apparently those latest entries weren’t all that great.

Even though they failed (quite spectacularly in some cases) with those, it never took away my hope for Elder Scrolls. I always hoped that these would be learning experiences, wake-up calls for Bethesda. Which would lead to them putting in all the effort they can to redeem themselves with the next Elder Scrolls game. That hope has never died, to the point where I’m glad ES 6 hasn’t released anything more than a teaser so far. The longer it takes, the more time they have to stop sucking and start making games good again.

Getting back to hype though, mine is completely dead. I remember when the teaser for ES 6 came. I remember feeling shocked about the fact that I did not care at all. Absolutely zero excitement. No hype whatsoever. It might come when they release more info on it. But for now I’m mostly scared I guess. As long as we know nothing, hope remains. If trailers come out and it seems as sucky as we all fear, then that would be far worse than being in the dark.

P.S. I really like the idea of the Oblivion Remaster actually being just a rumour. But Todd has been sitting in his office all this time thinking “Damn, they want a remaster announcement? A lot of them even expect it? We hadn’t planned that at all. Great, now we actually have to make that.” And the entire team scrambling to make a trailer in time for the announcement and pretend they’ve been working on this idea for 2 years.

It’s sad, I have zero interest in TESVI. I just have no faith it is going to be a game I want to play. Let alone anything they are working on for that matter.

I am however super excited to replay Morrowind with Tamriel Rebuilt one of these days. If you had told 15 year old me that in 20 years I would care about a mod for Morrowind that seemed like a trainwreck at the time, more than a new Elder Scrolls game, I would never have believed it.
