After playing this game for a week on PC, I’m impressed on the Series S port. The fact that it manages to run the game on the hardware it’s playing on is nothing short of hard work That being said, the game is poorly optimized overall but still worth playing.

Je me marre quand je vois les comms des rageux contre la serie S, les mecs qui pensent qu’un jeu en 2023 doit toujours être plus beau. Lancer le jeu sur une S, c’est bluffant et ça permet de jouer sans avoir à dépenser 550 euros pour une X et plus pour un PC de compète . J’ai eu ma S pour 200 balles d’occasion et je peux jouer à Starfield sans problème, certes pas dans la plus belle version mais celle proposée est largement suffisante.

So I play it on PC and it’s stunning. However I love to watch my gf playing it on the series s and I am stunned what it is capable of on that little Microsoft beast.

I can understand the frustration if anyone is playing on a xbox s, I’m playing on a 4090 120fps ultra settings and the loading is around 2 seconds at most between areas so I don’t notice them. Really enjoying the game

This could easily be a “space-mod” inside skryim`s engine – but it does NOT look “next-gen” to be… feel disappointed by how the game looks. A little on the flat/cartoony side – also the characters look ridiculous – kinda like with Mass Effect 3 – adromeda – I was hoping they would look as good as characters in BG3 at least! More adult, rougher versions, not smoothed out…

Something seems really “off” with the textures!
Even on the PC with highest setting they seem unneccessary blurry / low resolution, also small objects/plants/clutter seems to have VERY strange lighting / shadow properties.
looks almost like a bug, where it is illuminated from all sides at once – not realsitic at all. like a game from 15 years ago or so, where baked in lights/shading or even raytracing was not foreseeable at all! I am less then impressed and hope that modders will work on these issues and have a full blown 4k texture pack, re-shade and mesh-imrpovement mod plus lighting mod/ RT mod available soon.

I think I will just wait till the price drops to 29.99 on sale and some good mods are out, to make a solid game superb!

Probably because they didn’t want to show how bad the xbox SX version actually look like in comparison. This video is deliberate misleading.

I did own a series x and didnt see it as much of a downgrade when i switched to the S.. however this video painta it quite clear the difference in the two.

Hay mucho tontito que piensa que se ve como se vería a 900p…y no, tontitos…. son 900p reescalados a 1440p con fsr2. Se ve mucho mejor de como iría a 1080p, bastante nítido.

for everyone saying it has almost zero bugs but just seeing here shadow glitches, even missing shadows, texture glitching .. no glitching in water but thats extremely ugly details for water on pc. The extreme 2D cubicle tree details, omg in 2023 .. even skyrim in 2012 had better trees. Zero bullet decals? There is almost zero details after effects from shoting something.
That constant sun flare grain (smoke) on screen was extremely annoying

Me sorprende la SS a pesar de que la SX sea mucho mas potente la diferencia es muy poca, son mas detalles técnicos que visuales.. y ayuda que no sea un juego muy urbanizado (aunque haya NPCs y ciudades) pero no es Cyberpunk no ahi mucho movimiento y no ahi vehículos.. por lo tanto no satura la memoria de las SS y no tiene que cargar tanta información.. un ejemplo es como RDR 2 en la 8va Gen funcionaba bien y el Cyberpunk ya sufrian y les costaba moverlo.. que aunque ahora funcione mejor es una ciudad semi vacia.

It really looks like an old Gen Game… Is disappointing to see it so graphically ‘basic’. Personally I would’ve preferred smaller scale/size in order to have much better quality content. The first city looks extremely dull (very few NPCs no?). In general it looks boring from a graphic point of view. Looks like the games is more work than fun.

900p, series ya no logra levantar ningun aaa moderno a 1080p nativo, casi todos los juegos 3a de 2023 va por debajo de 900p.

En PC para los gráficos que tiene deja mucho que desear la optimización aún con la mejor PC del universo, hasta el Doom Eternal se mira mejor y se mueve muchísimo mejor, ya que con el hecho de que vaya a 40fps con una RTX 4080 y con FSR da a entender la optimización tan cuestionable.

The high vs ultra meme back at it again! I have a 4080 and i have never gone under 60 using FSR2 85% render scale using high presets instead of ultra. I dont think there is a huge perceivable difference compared to ultra. Those frame drops are though!

I’m completely satisfied with the performance and graphics quality of this game on Series X. I’ve been playing since early access became available, and I haven’t encountered a single frame drop. Bethesda did a great job optimising this game for current Xbox consoles.

Yes it is awesome that it looks great on Series S but really shows how much time you have to put into optimizing it for the Series S like they could use that extra time for the Series X and PC. Developers are becoming lazy with this upscaling crap. Game doesn’t even look that good, looks dated but sharp and can’t hold 60, upscaled from 1620P on a RTX 4080/7900XTX class hardware? The game is performing like you have RT reflections on. This would have looked good back in 2015. If it was native 4K, ok, this makes sense, but upscaled? This is becoming a trend, forget optimization, just use FSR, and DLSS. At least use checkerboarding like RE Engine games, I think it produces better results than FSR Quality and DLSS. There’s some PS4 Pro games I couldn’t tell was using checkerboarding. Oh well, I’ll check it out next week. Rig is somewhat beefy with 5900X OC to 4.725 GHZ, and AMD 7900XT GPU. WD Black SN850 2 TB drive so I should get quick loading. However, seeing this struggle on a RTX 4080, not I’m probably looking at 3072X1728P with FSR Quality engaged to play Starfield.

Both consoles look blurrier than I had hoped. I’m just glad the bugs and glitches are at an unacceptable level, which is an improvement over Bethesda’s usual ‘laughably egregious and pathetic’ level of glitchiness.

As i can see, Starfield does not utilise full CPU, ~30% in average. So, if you have CPU with something like (6 cores, 12 threads), (8 cores, 16 threads) – i think, it would be better to turn off the HT. In this case every core will have more cache space and i think performance will be better.
