Just started a new playthrough with 202 mods installed. Lol😅 haven’t played in awhile or the new DLC. But I got like 400 hours. Second most played game behind BG3 at 500 hours. I haven’t played games this much since I was a kid. Lol

i liked the gunplay compared to previous bethesda titles and the side quest space sherrif bit i really enjoyed but the main quest couldn’t really get into and the amount of loading screens and repeated poi’s made me give nms a try which was good in some areas but bad in fps.

Ngl shattered space is pretty boring

I’m more interested in a possibility of MMO function(s) than VR. Maybe limited to flying fleets against against fleets. A bit like Eve Online. Ground battle and attacking each other’s outposts doesn’t necessarily have to be a part of MMO battle options. Maybe MMO will never be compatible. If not? I’ll take a team of NPCs over my experiences of RL flexing in Eve any day.

It’s a game that’s become social media for too many Eve Players. I dont’ care if you winter in Spain. And going to a hotel in Iceland every year for fanfest is a demonstration of more money than brains.

I actually very much like the game , in a little over a year I’ve put more time in Starfield . That I put into Fallout 4 in the entire time it’s been out . The only Bethesda game I like more would be Skyrim . The only real problem I have is with the DLC . I expected and think they should have added a new starborn power to the DLC . A 10-part power would get you to at least play the DLC 10 times to get the full effect . As it is I’ve only gone to the DLC location three times . I would rather join the UC Vanguard and help stop the Terrormorphs . And I have absolutely no use for their Rev 8 . I would rather run than drive that ridiculously hard to control vehicle . The few times I have used it , I turned on God mode and used it as a flying vehicle .

Are they gonna fix that damn quest ending bug between short sighted and no sudden moves?

So….first Bethesda makes travel on foot mandatory between destinations to make it feel more “real”, then adds the car later to make that travel time faster, and now adds fast travel which eliminates the purpose of the car and “realism” of walking yourself there…

This series of events and how Bethesda handled them shows how dysfunctional the studio has become. If they had just added fast travel in the first place adding the car later never would have been needed.

Glad to see someone with an honest, positive take on Starfield. I for one love this game and have more than 500 hours invested. I continue to look forward to new content and mods for the coming year. Sure, Starfield may not be a “five star gourmet meal prepared by a French chef,” but it is (at the very least) a damn good Double Whopper with cheese! Father Time has allowed me to get to the Unity a dozen times on a dozen characters and most of them have only been through once. I’m still playing because each run has been different from the one before.

they need to force / add biom frameworks into the game.., to make the planets & structures more complex & interesting (and not need mods for that)

besides add more big / complex quests AND companions.., its just way to bare bone.. (like add half or more of all the paid creations into the base game)

than add more / other elements, quests, NEW structures..;..
Starfield has only 2 planet structures, ONE oil rig & ONE cave out post.., which keep repeating 1:1 over, and over , and over, and over again -__-..

than besides new, interesting, GOOD LOOKING romanceable companions.., they need to make more risky, dark, humours, edgy, deep quests, story bits, & characters..
(the Veil was the best, with “lubricant” lying around lol.., when seeing the position she was in for the alien reproduction and the lubricant, lol xD.., but that quest line didn’t feel finished.., like how the Shattered Space “haunted orphanage” whole ending fell flat.., no choice, no interaction, no conquense.., not to even talk on the ending of Shattered Space, also consequence-less, flat, etc..)
….
they gotta stop being forced to follow the “DEI” checkbox guidelines, or they’ll never get out (and the 3rd person camera is so bad / pointless.., know multiple people refusing to continue or even play Starfield for that reason., and still no modder has the guts to bring a fix)

they need to really change the whole mentality behind Starfield.

I would love to play it in VR, especially exploring across planets and looking up into their night skies, seeing planetary rings and spaceships landing in front of me in VR, I play a little PCVR on a quest 3 when I get a chance, I loved fallout 4 in VR and Starfield would be amazing. Thank you for the Regrets mention, unfortunately the lip sync tool wasn’t released when I made it and there’s still no documentation for it as its still early days for that tool. Invisible creature for the coffee bean being partially digested mission. First time I did it, totally killed my character multiple times, I gave up, loaded an older save and never completed it.
Next character was much higher level, handled it, but it was only after killing them did I realize the scanner revealed them!
Character hadn’t gotten the life sense starborne power… does that expose/reveal them?

I would totally play Starfield in VR, assuming it was a good VR with better resolution and refresh rate than the quest current headset…

Love the news updates! Starfield is my favorite PC game. I have been playing since early access. I have 600+ hours in the game (and i have never played another game for so long). After all these hours I finally did Sarah’s quest line…a little short compared to some others…. LOL. In 2025 I plan on learning a little about the Creation Kit and making a few minor mods. I did make my first one as a test that has a box with a bunch of Astra and a full mantis suit without doing the questline (still one of my favorites). I REALLY would like to make a quest for CORA that adds “A Brief History of Time” book to the game with a thank you from her… it feels like a loose story thread to me…. LOL. I have a few other simpler ideas too. 🙂

Gorefield is great fun though you can’t loot armour with the immersive loot mod sadly it’s also funny when you take down a creature with burn & a human skeleton is left……. very 60’s B-Movie with people in rubber creature suits there’s also a mod called that gun which has a gore effect as well. Invisible creatures have been around for ages & some are more visible at night but it adds a level of tension during daytime when you find them as to how many I don’t know I’ve found the one you have & a scorpion type creature & that one is perfectly invisible during daylight so you have to rely on your hud compass to get a fix, great roundup as always thank you.

I just wish they would fix the game. Mine has been unplayable, on three different machines, after countless reinstalls, and their lacklustre support, which was, frankly bloody useless, and they couldn’t give a shit. Hasn’t worked properly since September.

Hey Richard – where can I get a complete list of all Starfield mods for Xbox?

Father Time! Fast traveling to an unknown POI is cool but now that we have vehicles I enjoy driving to them. In 2025 I hope we get an overhaul to how you get your Starborn powers. That’s the only thing holding me back from making a new character. Did you say Starfield online? That would be insane! I’ll settle for CO OP at the very least.

Im hoping that they bring in a patch for Dazra that repairs the City if your toon has completed the Shattered Space quest. If Im aligned with Crimson Fleet, all the POI’s that have the Fleet in them should be changed to SysDef NPC’s same if Im doing Bounty Hunter Quests. Every couple months they should bring in a new POI that goes into the rotation so we dont get tired of doing all the same ones. Keep a maintenance teem going with just to clean up bugs and clean up useless code to keep the game running great.(Im finding that the longer I play a toon my saves get corrupted Im at 2000hrs on 3 toons)
And of course a really good DLC that expands on all the good things the game has and helps upgrade the pesky gripes everyone has. Father Time!!!

Bethesda needs to say or do something with Starfield. Like, ASAP. Because 2025 is shaping up to be a monster year for single player RPGs. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 drops 2/4/25. Then Avowed drops 2 weeks later. And we might even get The Outer Worlds 2 in the spring or summer. So, unless Bethesda works some kind of magical miracle, nobody is going to be talking about Starfield very soon. Good or Bad.

Another thing i’d love to see more of is sit down interviews and interactions with mod creators. What are their plans, wish lists, what tools are they using, etc. I love that stuff.

Elder Scrolls was one of my favorite games and still is and I’m hoping someday that Starfield will have just as many fun quests as Elder Scrolls and I believe that it will someday I’m also waiting and hoping soon that they will introduce humanoid Aliens into Starfield sooner than later maybe in the next DLC or sometime next year it will feel more of a Space Game.

Just got into Shattered Space during the christmas break. It’s actually really really damn good. Very impressed. I could barely believe my eyes when I found my first Longfang. First time I ever actually use an energy weapon for more than about a minute before chucking it away! My trusty Beowulf is hanging on the wall somewhere now.
I hope Bethesda make more large handcrafted areas dense with content. It’s what this game was lacking most of all in my opinion. & I hope they can retroactively add areas/encounters to the 1000 proc gen worlds we already have. Maybe around the cities. That would be immense.

My first encounter with an invisible creature was at night, I had my headphones on and I was hearing something in the grass. It creeped me out, it was one of those grasshopper things, it shot at me with some energy beam that was when I knew it was invisible.
