Why play starfield when you could play the outer worlds instead of
I know the reason I haven’t returned to starfield after the DLC is mainly because the game crashes every time I try to land on varuun kai.
The whole space seems just so pointless and empty. No lost Colonies, no new colonies, no making your own colonies. It was kind of a let down. At least in Fallout I would Build a Settlement and there was a rabbit hole to go down.
Let me guess….we don’t get it, right? **rolls eyes**
Most of the game features I was interested seemed bogged down with useless features. Base Building and Ship Building were just too tedious for this shift working father of two.. Though I’ve put 100+ hours into the game, I couldn’t get into Shattered Space.
Maybe I am in a minority, but I still love Starfield. It managed to clear my obsession with FO4, which I do not regret. I also loved Shattered Space. I’ve only done it once so far, so I am looking forward to replaying again, this time to explore the system and set up outposts.
They forgot they weren’t in their Reddit corporate echochamber
It’s just not as immersive as fallout. The companions are empty, the npcs feel like npcs, the environments tend to generally be dead etc. It has some cool stuff like the Serpent clan and that religion, spaceship builder, etc. The guns are wack and limited too
They should’ve made only a handful of systems and focused on making Starfield feel like an actual hand-crafted game, and not a bunch of tenuously connected procgen fishbowls with a lackluster story.
Starfield more like Starfailed
As a die hard Bethesda fan, if the new elder scrolls doesn’t hit then they should just close shop.
I cannot believe this is the same team that created Skyrim and Fallout 4.
This is very concerning for TES 6, assuming it releases within my lifetime.
The game is terrible. I pre-ordered, and I will certainly not be doing that with any other Bethesda game moving forward, save for a New Vegas 2 by Obsidian. *crosses fingers
games a joke
The buggy is literally pointless it really is faster to just walk.
The problem is the price. Shattered Space should AT MAX been $10.
Boring, dead, empty game. Go work on TES6 already. And stop complaining about complaining fans, how about that?
If you’re still playing starfield and you bought the DLC your IQ is below 70
“People think they are just releasing cut content”
“Did we release the buggy update to soon”
This is him basicly admitting it. He thinks he should have held the content back
The fact that Starfield is just such a boring forgettable game is sad. If they deleted 2/3 of the game(all procedural planets) it would instantly be a better gaming experience, that is wild.
A second expansion released in LATE 2025 is a deadly prediction. I really don’t have faith that starfield can last that long without new content. I know with the mods, but i wonder how many people will still be playing by that point, even with mods.
The buggy was an improvement, but it did nothing to improve the boring gameplay.
It doesn’t help either when the dlc doubles down on the boring.
JuiceHead not doing the same exact video from a few weeks ago challenge (impossible)
I waited for this expansion.. And I‘m not buying it
For me the lack of depth in the game. Missing stuff, overall Missing or lacking feature of the game does not motivate me to keep playing. And having most mods for cash only is a other big barrier. Older games had many free mods to enhance or improve or add gameplay etc.
The DLC was trash, i couldnt even get through it. Starfield is painfully bad.
tbh for me, Ryujin Industries missions story is far more intriguing than the DLC
Starfield sure feels like a game made by an AI.
The problam with this game is ………. the game !
Bethesda is dead you can’t trust or believe anything these clowns say anymore. Todd is just a jaded nerd with a superiority complex.
I love cyberpunk, fallout 3, 4, and new vegas. I gave starfield a chance as well. I loved the idea of making outposts and ship as it gives me trek vibes. But the poi is so boring and spread apart. In cp77, u could walk, ride to a gig and run into poi and and ncpd gigs that although basically the same add to the lore and their layouts are different.
Romances arent cookie cutter except perhaps River. The writing was there from the beginning. Decisions made affected story options down the road. And cdpr listened to feedback. People wanted a little value with the love interest, 2.0 added some. Fallout being set in a city made poi a little more interesting since it is based on a city so random and illusion of difference
Sorry but DEI killed starfield not the bugs not the performance but the people that actually worked on it Todd did this to himself and i wont be surprised if Microsoft ends up killing Bethesda as a whole
imo some of the problem is people who’d never been interested in the SpaceSim genre turned up wanting Skyrim in space, and got a SpaceSim – if a very casual one.
I don’t have the time that ED or SC require you to put in to make progress in the game; Starfield bridges that issue beautifully.
There’s some lag on planets and the sound bug is still not fixed.
I just want interplanetary exploration. That would happily bring me back to the game.
They made the buggy… which means they couldve always made the buggy. They have the skill and tech… it just shows and underlying problem with how the studio operates.
I mean, this conversation sure hasn’t inspired me to pick the game up. But I wonder if anybody making games or movies is listening to criticism anymore.
I cant pick up starfield it just feels meh. But guess what i picked up vanilla skyrim. And love every second. What happened Bethesda
I didn’t finish Starfield. One of the coolest looking games I ever played, though. The combat was awesome, but it was just boring. Idk. The super relaxing music didn’t help. 😅
I think if you look around and you look at comments, there are like 15 different versions of “the problem” choosing a main problem for the game, which I think shows that every part of the game lacks the depth you really need for anyone to sink their teeth into any 1 part of it. One of those a game for everyone is a game for noone situations.
The buggy is a bugged out rover, junk really. You know which rover was amazing? Mass Effect Andromeda rover! It was fun to drive, right out the bat that thing was just the way to go. It had the jump jet and the booster, and it ran over mobs most of the time.
The Rev8 struggles and is just lame. Its hard to handle, flipping and rolling and it only works if you rocket around. Might as well give us a hover car at that point and let us fly over the terrain. Blegh.
As for Shattered Space, another piece of junk, I couldn’t care about Varun and their stupidity at all. Honestly I can’t be mad at Bethesda, this is a new IP, its just has scope issues, they tried to mix No Man Sky into it and it doesn’t blend well. The space fight bit is fun, base creation is ok, the empty boring worlds are meh, and the storyline does not impact like what their other games do.
I cannot care enough about my companions, not even to hate them, they are bland and forgettable. Preston was annoying but he at least had personality, with Nick Valentine being one unforgettable hardboiled dude. Then there is Dogmeat. Come on, I can’t even remember the names of the Starfield losers 6 months after playing last.
The first one I remember his looks, and that he recruited you and was a bit on the cuckoo side, the annoying blond was just that, annoying and the rest, well there was the robot but other than how he looked that is it, not much personality there. The cute girl that always stayed at the Lodge we never got as a real companion and the little girl with her dad got the boot out of my ship asap. Space is no safe environment for a child, not even video games. Felt really uncomfortable lugging a minor into combat.
This game is bland as a chunk of unflavored tofu.
Now if you want similar gameplay, minus the space combat, but waaaay better writing and funnier stuff, the Outer Worlds is by far a 500% more entertainment game than Starfield, same themes and has a more Fallout style humor than this junk Bethesda put out.
They have a shallow ocean of content. This is the same problem that No Man’s Sky had. To fix it. They need to do what Hello Games did. I really don’t want them to waste their time with this game though. The lore for the starfield universe is incredibly boring. The design of a lot of the weapons and equipment are fairly boring. They have giant IP’s that are far more beloved and interesting. They need to learn from these mistakes and make the best open world RPG the world has ever seen again. Otherwise Bethesda might as well hang up the keyboard. They’re not going to regain or surpass their glory days if they keep this up. I’m honestly surprised they’re still holding on.
very few things can make up for bad writing in a single player game. This is a great example of it.
What you call added content I call should’ve been in the base game features not content and calling this DLC controversial is laughable
Whatever the release date of tes 6 is, they better push it back by at least a year possibly 2 because I don’t want to deal with another shitfield again.
Pathetic
I wish everyone would stop saying that modders are going to fix the game. Because you touch on the reason that they won’t in the video, if Bethesda plans to keep drip feeding updates and minor content like this modders will get fed up with having to update their mods constantly. All the other Bethesda modding scenes take off once the game stops having official content releases. If i gotta worry about 3-4 times a year having to update my mods and making sure nothing has broken why would i make anything let alone something complex?
Bethesda needs to realize they are not the company they once were. All they do nowadays is pat themselves on the back. They put so much effort into it that the games suffer as a result. They dont care if we are having fun while playing just that we log on so they can brag about player numbers. Im sick of Bethesda already.
Cool… im gonna keep playing Stalker 2… also, a team is working on bringing Spelljammer to BG3, so modding is awesome there, making a great game even better.
Yep, it feels good playing good games.
The settlement building in Starfield was a pathetic joke
At this point I don’t even know if I’d buy ES6 or fallout 5. Kinda sad
Install on gamepass, walk around for 2 mins, uninstall starfield. Pretty much my experience after beating the story. Absolutely no incestive to play the dlc or play any more than you have to, Skyrim is better
Fire.
Emil.
They need 300 new poi’s and large dungeons instead trash caves this number seems big but its tiny when teams are contracted across the world and assets are generated along with procedural generation. They dont want to do it because money/lazyniess etc.
I don’t feel like releasing buggies with the DLC would’ve really helped that much tbh, the game itself is just too lack luster
Shattered Space should have been delayed to like the second or third DLC to be released, we should have gotten an overhaul of the base game before we saw a more classic handcrafted adventure. There needs to be a lot more points of interest made for the game and some tweaks made to the procedural generation so you don’t see the same ones over and over again. Space gameplay also needs some work, personally I would remove the menu based fast travel, I know it’s a convenience but it just trivializes the entire space portion of the game. I was hoping to see a major uptick in mods with the release of the toolkit, but the current state of the game is a turnoff to modders who feel there’s nothing worth saving here. I still hope that Bethesda can turn this around but I’m not as optimistic as I was before the release of Shattered Space.
Stop being a shill, This game is a woke nightmare. Even modders can’t fix it.
starfields unfixable and should have time being wasted on fixing it.
bethesda should focus on tes6… for fucking once
The game was probably the worst game they ever made and was just not that fun. And all these people defending it are just in denial
I can’t believe people still aren’t talking about the biggest issue this game has. IT RESETS AFTER THE MAIN QUEST! All settlements and all progress completely and utterly lost.
It’s the biggest insult Bethesda could’ve provided. They don’t care about us enjoying our time in their world in an experience we create. They want us to play the game, do it again and again, and shut up.
I guarantee the convo wasn’t ‘should we have waited with the buggy?’… It was ‘should we have made the buggy expansion-exclusive?’
More base parts please
I think it is safe to say that for most (including myself) Starfield is a bad unfun and uninspiring game. Whose developers (Bethesda management) is so out of touch I really doubt they have played any other RPG in the last ten years that is not one they made.
Those player counts mean absolutely nothing. In fact I would say OBVIOUSLY the steam/gamepass player count is gonna go down as more people buy the game on disc. And people are buying Starfield left and right especially since Christmas is coming up. Call of duty or battlefield daily players reflect how many people are playing but seeing who’s playing only on the trackable ways on a single player game doesn’t reflect whatsoever.
Bethesda commited sewer slide the day they forced Game Director of Prey to name the game Prey despite having nothing to do with that franchise.
Then slowing pushing more and more pc culture in their games and workplace.
Then, finally, not letting go of the dead engine.
No D class ships. No flagships or cruisers (like the UC Vigilance). No new ship manufacturers. No unique HAB interiors (like we see on the Fortuna or Scow). Still can’t buy from Trident Luxury Liners.
Would also love buildable, personal space stations. It feels like the next step up from outposts, and all the groundwork is already there.
Hangar bays for smaller ships.
“Land” vehicles with improved verticality (like a drone or helicopter).
This all could exist in Starfield, with not too much extra effort. And it would improve the immersion and QoL so much.
Problem with Bethesda with Starfield is, they release updates far too slowly. When they do, the dlc is just disappointing and underwhelming. The modders are putting Bethesda to shame right now.
Most people aren’t going to care unless they do an overhaul for the exploration of the game. Which might be the hardest task in all of gaming especially with how many planets are in the game. I can’t imagine what Bethesda must be thinking right now. Do they abandon/ do the bare minimum or try to prove everyone wrong?
You can’t compare dlc for Starfield, a new IP, with Fallout 4 dlc. Starfield was worked from the ground up. Fallout 4 and Skyrim both had the ground work snd knowledge from several iterations of those games to lean on. Some of y’all just like to complain about any and everything 😂. People wanted 1 handcrafted area in Starfield, so they do that and then y’all complain about it. 15-20 hrs of content in the dlc. 50 new locations, new POIs, new enemies, new weapons, new grenades, new gear, 10 main missions, and 9 side quests. But again, it’s not good enough lol. Starfield and Shattered Space aren’t perfect and definitely have flaws. But they also do a lot right.
The point he’s making is that they gave free updates with free features throughout at multiple times since launch. But then the dlc comes out and people say they expected more features lol. Well, they have given features since launch..and the dlc was an expansion story and planet. Not a feature loaded dlc. 50 new locations, a new 10 main missions, and 11 new side quests, new POIs, weapons, grenades, and gear.
With cyberpunk cdpr expected that cdpr will fix the game
With starfield, bethesda expected modder to fix the game for free
Mechs, story, POIs, paid mods, unstable mods system, growing gap between PC mods and console, lack of interest in modding, radio stations, melee movesets, kill cams, more reason to visit all the “extra” systems, large cosmic events visible in space that lead to an investigation to the cause, etc. are all moons orbiting the issue at the core. Starfield taps into the magic of spaceflight, but removes flight. You said it yourself Todd in an interview, “I want to land my ship too”.
Starfield is a dope enough game it deserves to fly. Despite how little atmospheric flight was addressed before release, everyone held hope they could fly their ship. And when we found out we couldn’t, it broke all our hearts a little. Whether we want to admit it or not. And no matter how much or how little fun we are having when playing SF, that one thing is always there.
Catch a smile out there. o7
Bethesda have had more than enough time and opportunities to staunch their greed and root out their corruption. There’s no shame in pirating their half-arsed goods when they won’t even acknowledge that they’re essentially scamming customers. The phrase that comes to mind is, “You’ve made your bed, now lie in it.”
Snore Field
They should add full RTX in the game. Path tracing etc.
All of their excuses are bullshit because they Nailed it before in the past, they knew what players wanted because most of the team were players too… But suddenly now they don’t know what players want, everything feels like the bare mininem and put less effort over all.
This feels exactly like how we used to get Bug free games in PlayStation 1/PlayStation 2 days before games could connect to the internet and get an update and now we allowed a few games to release with a few bugs and now we have a whole generation that expects the games to release in a boarderline unplayable state in the same way kids basically come out of their mothers womb with an iPad and think every screen is a touch screen and get frustrated when they need to learn how to use a mouse and Keyboard.
How apt to end the vid with Andreja nagging you about how you drive
07:10 wait, can they turn that “bug” into a settings feature?
The insanity is that they’ve already learnt the exact lesson they should be learning once. The early Elder Scrolls games were way too big with not enough quality leading to them not selling that well. So they went to fully handcrafted and small in Morrowind, which sold insanely well. And now they’re making the exact same mistake all over again…
Fallout New Vegas really does live rent free in Liar the Barbarian Himself’s head. For those wondering, Todd Howard. It’s the name my friend gave him after watching PatricianTV’s TES videos. Don’t know which one that mentions him being a Barbarian, as i was half listening. That and i was asleep because of a double shift. I just woke up to hear the word and went back to sleep. And then a week later my friend gave him the name and it stuck. Don’t know much about Todd though to warrant such namecalling but i can see from other comments about this game and prior titles. Much love and respect. Except for the Liar the Barbarian Himself.
A second play through?! Couldn’t even face a first one.
I think what fans wanted was Starfield, but not Starfield lol.
They’ve got to stop making excuses for godsake
Survival was in Skyrim and Fallout. Not a new feature by any stretch of the imagination
Buggies we practically begged for and should have been there at launch
The graphical and fps updates were impressive but again the game should have launched in a polished state.
Now onto shattered space
1. Same bland writing
2. Not enough scope and size for a 30 dollar expansion(no I dont mean 5 more empty planets, I mean padding out Varun Kai with more content)
6. Lack of amy significant INNOVATION(something Bethesda is practically incapable of as modders regularly outperform them in this department. 😂
For ss I wish that if you chose “all must serve” it would kill you and take you to the unity to restart on another world. Also the buildup made me believe that the varrun folks were all starborn because.. ya know.. you talk to yourself which could be trippy.. plus the science behind the artifacts would have been a cool alternative ending. I also wish you had more “bad guy” options.. if you do restart the crusade no one in the settled systems stops you or says anything. Wish there was more of that stuff.
They tried to scam us. Plain and Simple
God I miss Michael Kirkbride’s writing.
For me the only updates Ive ever asked and hoped for from Bethesda(NOT MODDERS*). Was both ship and base modules with elevators or stairs. Which even Vasco could use to walk around the ship outside of the cargo bay. Cockpits with A functional captains seat that lets you set and visually see your crew at actual stations. IE: I’d like to have Barett as the pilot while Sara is on weapons. And lastly, MORE melee weapons. Like baseball bats/clubs, hammers, different bladed ones like sickles. And knuckle gloved based ones for those choosing to maximize that martial arts perk.
People still play this?
Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim.. All 3 of those games have had DLCs where you go to new unique lands and they have new back stories, new weapons, armors, entire new looks. Everything.. Shattered Space was garbage in comparison. Starfield will never be a good game until they rip up the very foundation of it and re do it.
Have 1000s of hours and used mods for these
Poi’s and creatures behaviour ai are two fixes needed for massive improvement
Poi duplication exactly identical needs different segments that are variable they vary those to create pin number level of rng very rare to see dupes
CREATURES get near… they All roar at the same time, massively takes the soul away from game it makes them feel like they are just skins over the same ai, needs a random number zone over the reaction, within a short area
The funny thing is even the modders can’t be bothered with this game. Chalk it up as a failed experiment and focus on making Fallout 5.
I gave up on your channel when you started hating 76 a while back. Saw this vid and figured why not. I think I’ll just stick to playing the games devoid of what Ching YouTube content. It’s nothing but hate here on YouTube and that is really pathetic, the dlc is great, and I have no reason to be disappointed.
It feels like they have made the decision to slowly abandoned this game.
BGS was my favorite dev growing up. They been fucking up HARD lately.
CreationClubfield
Shittered Slop
I saw a YouTuber point out that the amount of people who came back to play the DLC did not nearly match the amount who paid to play Starfield in Early Access . Keep in mind that the people who did pay to play early also technically own the dlc.
cope light or vanilla cope? almost everything you said is ridiculous. youre acting like theres this narrow margin by which the game missed in order to be solid, while in reality everything about this game is actual garbage. and everyone with two braincells to accidentally collide knew this pre launch
Spot on with disconnected.
Bethesda wont be able to rely on their modding community for much longer. Other developers are giving their fans just as much freedom with mods. Suddenly that special sauce bethesda were serving is in every other resteraunt in town.
im okay with visiting the same POI’s. however, they need to lean into procedural generation and randomization. when i go to a similar POI, let there be different NPCs. let me run into different creatures or random encounters. every time i get on, i want to experience something different. every update needs to include this. if they cant nail the DLC, then lean into free content and mods with every update
Bethesda is a joke since fallout 76.
I was thinking they should give the game buggy races but I’m guessing Bethesda want to avoid making the game like GTA or Watchdog
i thought esc coming 2030
i guess its 2050 now
I made the switch to Xbox just for Starfield. It’s a decision that I kinda regret daily. Don’t get me wrong I was happy to be able to play Halo again like I did when I was a kid on the original Xbox. And I’ve been super pumped about Death Stranding being released on Xbox. Which is an immensely better game than Starfield lol.
Bethesda still doesn’t want to admit their game is just hot euro trash with fancy colors. It takes all the flaws of fallout 4 but rips the barebones story out of it and gives you what? Generic space themes I’m here for story and depth I’d rather play space marine 2 or BG3 or ck3
I actually deleted my Bethesda account. I won’t buy TES6 unless the more critical reviewers rate it at least 8/10
Yes, no new locations, no new sets of ship parts, no new sets of settlement parts either.
Games made by passionate bros always succeed – games made by woke DEI hires FAIL
Its a game made by DEI hires with no unique ideas – where EVERY companion chides me for doing ANYTHING
People can’t even be bothered to mod, shows how boring it is.
I only like the Vanguard missions. Bethesda needed to work on this game for 5 more years.
Tes6 is gonna be so disappointing
So, they think it would have been better to hold back features for a paywall? Because the buggy was free, but the DLC is 30 dollars for a singular planet with a handcrafted zone that followed the same Starfield formula. This doesn’t instill confidence in me about the future of the game or ES6, after putting many hours into this ocean of a game that is as shallow as a stream. Oh well, guess BGS isn’t going to be my favorite game company again anytime soon. That’s just my opinion.
Why the fk did they waste money on a game no one asked for instead of spending all those resources onto the new Eder scrolls. They could do so much more than massive open world rpgs with elder scrolls maybe a game kinda like Diablo or more story focused game like Redguards adventures but better
lol, delaying the buggy would have fixed shattered space🤣 what the heck Todd?
Got games like stalker 2 that just came out and that actually work and have some lore. I don’t play for the story but Bethesda cant even beat a team whos country has been in a war.
How about they respond to the fallout 4 next gen disaster?! As far as I know they still haven’t in any official capacity!
It’s a great game , I have 300 hours by now and I haven’t even done any factions quests – keeping them for the last NG+. Barely scratched the surface.
If it was filled with more lore I don’t even know how long it would take to explore at least small part of the galaxy.
Well if theyre making creations Achievement friendly for Starfield, can we get that same thing for Skyrim?🤨
Look what you got from Phantom Liberty for less money…
Bethesda is filled with braindead developers and management
Starfield ❌
Sh!tfield ✅
If they repair skyrim fallout 4 and demonitoze fallout 76 and fix starfield including some free gear here and there maybe then ill reconsidder 😂😂😂😂
ITS NEVER GONNE HAPPEN!
Tbh i got the Shaterd Space DLC for Free. I bought a 70€ Game Key when starfield was Launched that Included the DLC. Still i was Disapointed by the DLC. I played Trough the DLC in ca 2 Days on a weekend wirh ca 8 to 10 Hour Play Days. That Includes Main and Side Quests. Here is what i Hoped for Seeing in the Shaterd Space DLC.
-New Varuum Shipbuilder (Unique Ships not the Black Stroud Eklund)
-New Weapons (Not Just Reskins)
-A new Quest with Andeja
-Reactions to Andreja being your Companipn, similar Nick Valentine in Far Harbor.
All in all i feel that the DLC follows the old Bethesda Formular that the First DLC is more like a Cut Content that you Pay Extra For. See the Automatron DLC for Fallout 4. I realy hope that Bethesda gets there Stuff Together and Starts to Deliver on the Things the Fans are Expect from you.
0:55 Bethesda may have release some content between launch and the DLC but they did it because launch bombed.
That content was supposed to be their answer to the complaints of players. It didn’t go over well.
They released the DLC as response to player complaints about the response to players complaints. That fix for the game cost $30.
If they do have 250 devs working on it most of those are going to be working on the starfield equivalent of horse armor. If you’re looking for unique ship parts and armor for the shattered space DLC you’ll find it in the cash shop. All they really did was name their cash shop creation club.
I don’t know that anyone should be giving Bethesda the benefit of the doubt at this point.
Honestly the player count doesn’t surprise me. Starfield is the least replayable game Bethesda ever made, especially if you complete every single quest. I would never come back to it like I did with Oblivion or Skyrim multiple times over the years.
Bathesda is truly the 15$ Steam sale Developer imo. Got FO4 and Skyrim for cheap and saved money to upgrade my PC to play with mods
Did Elon design the guns for this game with his 12 inch wood ruler and crayon? They are the UGLIEST guns I have ever seen.
Starfield was such a massive disappointment, on so many levels. It has no depth at all. Good writing Could have made it at least, Playable(even with all the woke propaganda) but sadly, the writing team has not hired for talent, but instead, DEI. MODs on Console don’t even help, because the ‘Good Modders’ won’t put them on console.
I am done with Bethesda, I feel ripped off for the DLC, the fact that they could have had a 2nd chance and blew it. Not even interested in the new elder scrolls either.
Todd and emil have 0 new ideas. Who gaf how many ppl they have working on a project with no new creative ideas? Its like 250 chefs working to boil eggs. At the end of the day its still just boiled eggs
Mechanically, Starfield certainly has a lot of mechanics, but they’re all disconnected weirdly from one another. No combination of 3 or more systems comes together to elevate the experience like in previous titles. The development was unfocused and the product reflects that.
The saddest thing I saw was a dedicated Bethesda channel release a compilation of all 30 unique POI. They should be covering literally 10 times that, considering what Skyrim and Fallout are able to showcase. They need to step back and delegate duties, hire 20 level designers and tell them to make 10 POI each with a dedicated quest designer and writer on tap. If somehow that’s impossible, then reach out to the MOD community and work with them to grind out voiced official content, since they’ve got fingers on the pulse of the community.
Bethesda started trading in bad faith back with horse armor, but they’ve always gotten away with it because they were able to step up. Now they’re deep in debt trust-wise and they need to start building that good will up again or they will be sold for parts by Microsoft after TES6
Shattered spaces major ending decision has zero effect on the other parts of the story
Crimson fleet quest decision makes zero impact on story and you can just chill in New Atlantis after killing a major military figure 😂
The immersion or lack there of when it comes to story and choice connection is the biggest issue for me this is NOT a Bethesda game in that regard
There’s so many small things wrong in a multitude of directions it’s going to be hard to really fix. They should save the art and story but then take a deep breath and begin again first basically reskin fallout and improve it
Starfield will never be good. Bethesda should just abandon the game like the players did.
How could that 1:05 be “content” especially with 25 years in the making? Holy cr*p. They try to gaslight and bs their way out of this.
I like the game ,but on your new game plus right when I walk through the unity the game crash and sends be back to the Xbox load screen
Microsoft owning Bethesda is the problem. I bet they bought Bethesda knowing this game was in the chamber and relatively close to release, pushed behh to wads to release it, and here we are. Phil Spencer is not for gamers, he is for the corporation of Microsoft.
Content is slow because bethesda 100% expected mods both paid and free to carry the game in just about every way. Mods have carried skyrim for over a decade and fallout 4 for close to it, why would they need to make content when others will do the work instead? Bethesda is lazy and has been for years starfield just made a lot of people realize it
Bethesda not understand what people are unhappy about… shocking.
I deleted this game from my computer. Terrible monotonous game.
Yep.
It doesn’t even work it crashes
This is very selfish to think, but I kind of hope they abandoned Starfield and shift all focus to TES 6. But even then, I don’t have any real hope this team could make a good TES game anymore. The issues I have with Starfield’s exploration are baked into the foundation. If this game were to make ME, in particular happy, it would involve rebuilding a lot of it from the ground up, and that would take too long. I was never hyped for Starfield to begin with. I don’t like the “NASA-Punk” aesthetic at all. I just want more TES mainline games. I only got Starfield because it was a Bethesda game, and I figured it would have a baseline level of Bethesda-style fun to enjoy for a good number of hours. But it was only good for maybe 10 hours before it got stale and frustrating.
I bought the deluxe with dlc early on a whim despite having no hope in it desperately wanting a solid Xbox game. I hated the game so much I haven’t even bothered with the dlc. What’s wrong with the game can’t be fixed with updates and dlc. It needed to be scrapped years ago along with Todd Howard.
There are many issues with starfield, but the oddest one, to me, is that it refuses to lean into what makes starfield a potentially better game that prior Bethesta games, space. They’ve spent all these resources on a very cool, if awkward to use, space building system and the game barely interacts with it… It’s such a let down to spend hours upon hours designing your perfect spaceship and the realise just how little content there is for you to actually use it.
It is of course also very sad that we’ve gone from being able to freely kill a plot-vital demi god to not even being able to execute a random spaceship officer because he happens to be a quest giver.
Baldurgate 3 which goty 2023 now have mod support too and free… starfield which never winning anything wants to get paid…
It’s not hard to figure out where starfield will end up. It’s already ended up in the grave. Unless Bethesda pulls their heads out their rear and realizes the mess they have on their hands elder scrolls and fallout will end up in the grave right beside it.
Bethesda went woke and is dead.
CDPR “our engine that people are using to make photorealistic yourube videos is outdated. We will be switching to UE5.”
BGS “Let us show you our 1997 gamebryo engine updated.”
I gave up. I had it working now 2 updates ago and it will not even start with no mods. I just uninstalled it. It is a pointless game anyway. A weak Dragonborn story “Which there is light in the game so still no Dragons anywhere” turned to The Light King or something with all Black quest givers and mostly Korean and Mexican citizens in the citys. The sound don’t really work right, the game is empty. Its Junk. They should get a Trophy for the most copies sold of a total piece of junk . Of all time. Everyone was so hungry for a new Skyrim. That is why they sold all those copies. No one is playing this garbage.
The only thing that could save this game would be for them to add multiplayer.
the dlc doesnt matter if it doesnt fix the base game. i believe starfield was only half developed, due to lockdowns they stopped working on it and just fixed bugs enough for release. none of the systems or content loops interact with eachother, all of the balance and interwovenness that is usually added in the latter half of dev is missing. it genuinely needs another year or two of full dev time.
and even if all that were fixed, that still doesnt fix the bland “for modern audience” story and writing.
If you had to pay 30 for the buggy, instead of the free drop, would have been a middle finger to players.
I don’t hate you Bethesda… I just don’t love you anymore. It’s over.
It’s clear Bethesda won’t make a comeback till leadership gets changed.
I really think Bethesda is playing the long game. I think after 1 or 2 more DLC, and another year of Modding, it’ll be a game worth sinking 100+ hours into.
Bethesda has their heads so up inside their own asses they can’t see and hear all the real reviews from true gamers
Is Fallout 4 still broken?
evry time i hear abaut Emil Palgaliarulo is more stupidity
Agreed, the writing was so contrived and the character interaction DEI that it was so clear instead of telling the story, a group of social justice nitwits were only trying to make a point.
Also, instead of 1000 planets with one city per planet on a handful, there should be multiple cities on some of the planets. A planet with a breathable atmosphere and resources should have at least three major cities with roads connecting them, multiple outposts, farms, energy production. Bethesda created an entire planet but only 5% of it is not procedural generated.
They should just fix the creation kit and let modders take the charge because making new planets and palces is near impossible in its current state . Also increase the number of points of intrest to like 100 or so so that they dont repeat as much heck you could even after fixing the creation kit let players vote on what to add next or just chose the best ones and add those.
My concern is, these people know quality, and then release this. It is slop. Not a Bethesda hater here. I want them to succeed but this is proof that people should wait a month before purchasing their games and getting past the bogus reviews.
Hey so you should delete your video about the fallout show not breaking lore. Its literally just a lie and makes you look shitty. Especially with how much of a fan you claim to be.
Need ps5 version
As usual, Emil talking out his second butthole making the whole situation worse. This guy just stains everything he works on and touches it’s insane he’s still able to perform human functions without catastrophically messing something up.
😂
The biggest thing to me that showed how Starfield was unfinished or had ideas that were never complete was the Brig and bounty hunting. You could tap those out and the game would lose nothing at all
Star field reminds me of stale crackers, still there still good if you drop them in soup (mods/good writing) but alone there just dust and salt
With so many people working for a company you think they would be able to get some good content out of idk anyone? I’m no writer but write stuff that easily eclipse this garbage wild to think I might one day just have to do it myself ffs
I had hoped to hear that Bethesda was showing signs of understanding why Starfield was a disappointment. I see they have no idea and I will no longer hope the next elder scrolls will have anything to offer.
If bethesda hadn’t have taken pre-orders for shattered space they would have cancelled it judging by how badly the game did. And it still felt rushed over a year later after release. Remember they also delayed starfield by a year so imagine how tragic it would have been if the released it on the first date they gave out.
I’m done buying anything from Bethesda
Blaming negative criticism on the “Vocal minority” has become such a pathetic excuse.
Loved Skyrim. FO4 was good. Starfield sucks. Not really interested in TES 6 anymore. When TES 6 comes out, it’ll be right around the time if Witcher 4. Good luck with that, BGS.
A starfeild video hmm haven’t seen one in awhile well anyway thanks for the update see you next time
I’m in the boat of shattered space being added missing content from the launch. I haven’t even felt like I need to play much of it after reviews, despite buying the ultimate version of the game at launch. I’m just over all disappointed.
I really do think it is time for a change of leadership in Bethesda. I am NOT hopeful for Fallout 5 under Howard.
Just an FYI… I review and select my mods from the website on my PC or iPad and save them as bookmarks. When I’m in the Creations page in-game, I just go to the bookmarks or I select search and typ the first couple letters, pick the mod and download. I never have to be annoyed by dozens of paid mods in my face.
The thing can gets me is a lot of the content they put out is done lazy missing things aka the buggy just spawning next to the ship rather then needing a hanger for it.
It is them still following that one thing that said “The modders will fix it.” that is why they are being so lazy as they would rather have their players fix the game for them.
A small part of me has a hope that they don’t keep doing this with the next fallout or elder scrolls but at this point it just feels like a lie I am holding onto.
I had 35 hours in starfield, and imediatly uninstalled it due to many problems including load screens, the trigger event was talking to a npc for a quest, the quest was to fly to another planet and give a message to someone and go back with the reply, so in the future they stopped all usage of email, texts, phones? What a f’ucking stupid mess of a “game”
This game would have been absolutely amazing…..10 years ago. It seems like something that Todd kept coming up with new ideas during production that he kept gettinf excited about and it just bloated mechanically. To the point that things like writing amd exploration took a back seat. Crafting is something you can completely ignore, because you will likely find better stuff on the ground anyways. And theres so little reason to stau anywhere for more than an hr, so 15% of the game time os loading screens.
WOW a game that every could agree sucked had a DLC which equally sucked what a shock
wonder how much they paid for those 5 star reviews i don’t believe anyone bought a bethesda product and felt like the got a good deal
Their indian slave coders in the bethesda basements have developed a resistance to whipping and cant be forced to make more nor good content anymore….
There should be more story in the points of interest. We need more depth in the unexpected story we can stumble upon.
Bethesda desperately needs to fire Emil Pagliarulo, and pay whatever they need to pay to get Michael Kirkbride and Ken Rolston back in the writers’ room. Bethesda’s writing took an instant nosedive once they left the studio, and it has only continued to get worse.
The problem around the entire game is that it’s surrounded and played by a bunch of crybabies you guys are never happy. You will never be happy no matter what people do because you hype something up so much and put it on a pedestal and then are disappointed when it is not what you wanted
The ECS Constant is another mission that is bugged. I went the way of installing a grav drive on the ship and it still in orbit around the same planet.
The buggy only allows you to fast travel to your ship (which is nice if you are carrying to much). But, you can not fast travel to POI if you been there before with the buggy. Buggy on super low Gravity planets do not work too. Plus, it only a little faster to get somewhere too.
star field is as wide as the pacific, as deep as pothole, and has zero soul. it cannot be fixed.
The issue for me is tracker missions. Like take alive missions do not always work and or confront a enemy does work at all for me. Plus, the citizen’s that have bounties does not work for me at all. They need to fix this.
Nice vid juice
I think they got lazy , they could have added a new temple and power . But all we got was more stuff to lose when going through Unity , and the weapons that they added looked cool but didn’t do any real damage .
Dead game, sad.
Every time the respond, they always make it look worse and you would think someone in pr would have told them to stfu by now lol.
I remember my first interactions with characters, and the cam randomly flipping to my companion so they could add NOTHING to the conversation.
Seriously who decided that would be a good idea, why in the seven hells would I hire a serial interrupter to chase me around the galaxy. I chose Bosco (yeah yeah different game), only to learn he’s actually terrible and doesn’t level at all.
Then I chose to load up Cyberpunk again and never looked back. Wish I’d refunded starfield
8:41 Starfield is still doing better than Elden Ring, and that game may win game of the year twice. I dont know why people are so obsessed with player numbers for single-player games.
I got Shattered Space for “””free””” with my edition of Starfield.
I still haven’t touched it.
I tried starting a new game to try out all the updates that released over the past year (all 3 new lines of code + a buggy), and I realized that everything that I hated about the game is still front-and-center.
I walk into a POI, and it’s a carbon-copy of the last POI that I was in.
Everything, right down to layout, enemy-placement, even the CLUTTER on the FLOOR is identical.
Exploration requires that I don’t already have the area memorized.
In a game that’s BUILT around procedural-generation, THIS needs to be the #1 priority to be fixed.
Stop saying “foe werd” its “forward”
For me the main problem with Starfield is the “Endgame”/longlivity. In Fallout 4 i ALWAYS startet a new playthrough because i love the idea of bring back life to the wasteland in creating a comnunity with settlements. I love that feature to death and it was a blast to combine this with replaying quests and add new stuff with mods (Sim Settlements!). Sadly Starfield didnt have that. I was 100% sure that they will improve the Outpost and Building System in Starfield and give it more purpose. Sadly they didnt, wich is imo a HUGE missed oportunity, i am sure player numbers would be doubled now if we could colonize the Universe or something similar. And i have to admit: Juice is right, it feels they lost the connection to us, the hardcore fans 🙁 Yes, the “Preston Meme” was a big thing… but do BGS/Todd realy think that we all hate the settlement system just because a loud minority said that?!
Personally, I think Todd Howard is a super cool guy if you know him and talk to him in person, that’s my impression or expectation as someone who doesn’t know him. (or I’d know for sure obviously) But he and others at Bethesda seem so delusional, out of touch, and arrogant when it comes to the content and quality of Bethesda games, and Starfield in particular, that it actually makes me a little angry. We all see what they don’t see and… just… how? It’s beyond me.
Elder Scrolls 6 is doomed
The game will be a freaking marketplace nothing more. Im sure they already build the elder scrolls 6 marketplace and creation’s for Fallout 6
I love playing starfield its fun goofy funny i take it for what it is its a lot better when you look at things in a positive light rather than negative its my game i make it what it is. Its fun to be an a**hole to everyone in the game go crimson fleet!
The game is trash, lets all move on. PS: Don’t preorder Elder Scrolls 6.
It’s very bizarre BGS is so arrogant that they act like Starfield is a flawless experience and the best thing they have made. I think it’s a good game and they definitely should be proud, but man, them acting like Starfield is flawless is tone deaf. FANS, we are FANS, meaning: we have played many of their games over the years and come to love and appreciate their style. Ignoring us is just an odd decision.
I stopped playing after a few iteration because boredom set in. This expansion has not attracted me back to the game; can’t see any reason to buy it. This is a single player game that is okay; I have no incentive to play again. Honestly, I’m glad a bought it for 29 quid in the sale. Maybe if the expansion was free I might return, but can’t see it ever being free. Hello games released numerous free content and totally transformed NMS, but they aren’t yanks; yanks only do things for money.
Controversial…? Uh, no. It’s universally scorned.
I’ll start playing the game again when the crashes are fixed! great game when it plays…..
That game is so boring. I tried to play it so bad.
Hopefully theyre taking notes and watching gsc closely because they definitely need to change the formula for ES6 and fallout 5.
I hate it when developers beg for praise over features that should’ve been part of the game to begin with. Buggies in the expansion or not wouldn’t have changed anything. The expansion is boring and that’s that.
Shattered space was NOT worth the price, it’s a big middle finger to the fans. Although I enjoyed the DLC it was severely lacking in SO MANY areas!
I repeat, if Bethesda thinks their problem was fixing issues gradually instead of all at once for the low, low price of more money, then they themselves might be the problem.
The concept pf Starfield was brilliant. The approach to how it was designed makes sense but it simply failed to land with as many people as they hoped. I think they need to realize the approach, despite being valid, and the game, despite having a lot of great things, misses the mark in some ways, too.
Don’t make “decade” games. It made sense but the reality lacks and the results clearly reflect that. Just make the best open world game you can make in 4 years. Replay ability comes in making great experiences not big experiences.
They do not realize and fix their mistakes. Trust me, it isn’t hard, there are tons of fan video-essays that points out to the mistakes. Bethesda needs a change in leadership and more communication with the community.
The lesson Bethesda needs to learn is “release a smaller single player game every 4 years, open and interconnected world that’s hand crafted”
That’s what this doesn’t have that other games did.
Shorten development cycles, make smaller games on less grand scales that have that smooth exploration of an open world. Release games more frequently so there’s more variety and a larger catalog of experiences for fans.
The answer is obvious – they’re just seemingly doing all they can to rationalize not taking the obvious approach.
but the basegame is still kinda crappy…….
People are still talking about starfield? I forgot it even existed.
No hope for elder scrolls after this 😢
I’m enjoying Starfield.
I play No Man’s Sky instead of Starfield, and it’s night and day how much content we get. It just never feels like Hello Games takes us for granted the way Bethesda does.
Starfield lacks gameplay depth, it could make up for it with a good story but alas we still got emil, guy needs to go.
the economy has alot to do with these dlc and even the content itself…trump now taking office and the stock market instantly swinging up and a tech boom being pushed by elon is gonna see a revamp in interest and production…. as far as the (numbers) you keep going on about….its a single player offline game not gta those numbers do NOT reflect how many are actually playing…
I think Bethesda knows they’re hopelessly stuck between meaningless 1000 planets with no way to properly populate them.
They are planning another expansion for Starfield? As someone who lost interest in playing the game soon after launch, I can’t say that I’m too stoked about that… I’d rather they’d cut their losses and put all of their effort into TES6 while learning from their mistakes AND the mistakes and successes of other games. Like the mistakes from Dragon Age the Veilguard and the accomplishments from Baldur’s Gate 3.
Fetch Quest the Game
The biggest problem with Starfield is poor media, negative click bait reviews. Lots of “content creators” mimicking each other with negative reviews/posts, many never even playing the game.
Nobody cares about Bethesda anymore
They never gonna to make a starfield 2.0 Rework (like cyberpunk 2.0)
Because for them , this is modder work and paid mods. They hope after 2/3 years this gonna look like skyrim of fallout modding
For Baldur gate 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 , modding was the pinnacle of gift for the player. After building themself.
For starfield, this is suppose to be the foundation. the modder work is suppose to build and fix the game for “free” for Bethesda
Meh I think this is just the problem with launching a new IP when you’re building off of the old tech and not innovating enough.
If you’ve never played a fallout game you’d probably love starfield, say you skipped Fallout 4 and just played skyrim. You’d love it.
Fallout 4 to starfield and honestly it’s just fallout 4 in space with some good return to forms (The New Game+ is genuinely amazing) and a silent protagonist. Ship Builder is cool but if you’re not into that well…..buy a ship. Companions are cool, DLC is at least interesting. Mod Support is solid and fine.
But it’s more of the same? Which when you’re looking for that can work but when the fanbase is craving a new fallout game(thanks team FOLON) and elder scrolls fans are waiting 15 years for their game……Elder Scrolls online aside it’s not gonna get a great reception.
Starfield fans are happy, bethesda fans are not happy and I feel that’s the difference here.
Go play fallout london right now. Or else Juicehead will juice THAT head.
One graphics and alot more things to do with newer games that’s why it takes so long people don’t understand how long it takes to make a game in today’s age it’s a joke
I think the Bethesda should’ve stayed in their lane, instead of making a bland, boring, repetitive and buggy space game with more load screens than Skyrim and Fallout combined.
Me with a cheat to unlock all achievements in 1 second. Gotta love modders.
The time sink of dev time in 2024 is a key issue with the game. Starfield is just unfinished on a fundamental level. It has no true sense of identity due to a lack of willingness to lock players into real paths of decision. It is a RPG with an objective that is antithetical to rpg’s as a genre. The game is hyper focused on new game plus but has zero incentive to that new game plus from a RPG perspective simply because you can’t be the bad guy.
Them wondering what went wrong with the DLC and thinking that not charging for the buggy is the issue was kinda the final straw for me. Ive lost all hope and have thrown in the towel. Theyre too far gone.
The game for me was a waste because they made the fu*king thing internet only. Rural area, not reliable internet.
Quick check…. @18000 people playing Cyberpunk right now. @2500 playing starfield soon after a DLC release
I cant believe it took 250 people to make that expansion… please just let another studio make the next elder scrolls, we can’t take it anymore
The problem is the boring writing, lack of decisions, boring companions who get angry at you, and fetch quests. It’s really the bland writing team.
Its concerning that the more fans push back, the more Bethesda’s execs just draw competently wrong conclusions. Assuming we ever actually do get a new game post-starfield in this lifetime, I don’t have high hopes for it.
Bethesda needs new blood in the crew.
starfield showed just how much bethesda has fallen. It’s not the same company and developers. Maybe they were always bad we just didn’t know until starfield was worked on.
The dlc was really not worth the money they charged
Starfield isn’t even holding my attention anymore
I’ll wait till they dlc #4 done, by then the modders will have all the tools and info they need for proper mesh and animation creation
which they don’t yet, just the questline stuff in creation kit is out , not the spes for textrues and meshes and bodies
then it will be great
but that’s a year away at least, maybe 2.
Very dissapointing dlc, not enough content in it, and boring content a lot of it
don’t like the cult
love the new vehicles tho
need something like a little fyer or glider too
Level 148 – ~550 hours in game. This game with the mod packs now is a phenomenal platform but it absolutely needs CONTENT. So many empty star systems is tragic and brings back bad memories of No Man’s Sky’s procedural fiasco. Here’s a recommendation for Bethesda: Hold a competition with a $1M top prize and 20 total prizes for the best expansion stories. Award them by planet – letting people chase after developing a new deep mission on a given planet. Select the top 20, let the rest promote in the store and suddenly you’ll fill up the galaxy with deep content.
Do the same thing in a second challenge for the procedural buildings. Instead of having like ~20 potential procedural constructions, let us builders (who may not be storyline creators useful in the first challenge) design all sorts of new infrastructure/site-focused challenges. I’d commit my own development resources to building new kinds of sites. Abandoned towns. Industrial sites. All sorts of different mining, resource extraction and construction sites. What about abandoned tourist cities?
Last recommendation: keep littering deep content easter eggs that reward those flying about exploring. Link these into planet and space mining. Challenge yourself to have at least one mission in the next 3 months like Mantis and orchestrate a creation pipeline that pops out a new “Mantis” every month. Next summer you can have another competition with major prize money awarded to at least 20-25 competitors.
In otherwords, convert this to an ECOSYSTEM game. You’ve banked tens and tens of millions but need to convert this from a one-time purchase to a recurring model. I’d pay $10/month if you kept a new “Mantis” coming out, crowdsourced the expansion into the galaxy via the competitions, and focused Bethesda developers on maintaining the infrastructure, tooling, APIs, etc. for the rest of us to build and compete in.
Honestly, the main thing that made not even finish the expansion was the writing. It’s just not interesting playing a bethesda written game anymore.
I played shattered space once so far and is my review on it, the new world and spacestation was pretty awesome looking but the new home world was pretty unstable fps issues and drops to dashboard, main story had only like 10 main quest, not much on side quest, I personally only found one, and story writing was below average, and andja your companion had zero added content, not much on rewards from main story. The house you get was kinda garbage it was to small and very hard to decorate, there weren’t 250 Dev’s working on this, because if there were 250 Dev’s working on this, they should be ashamed of themselves, because far harbor was 20x better than shattered space by far, I honestly felt ripped off by this dlc. The ghosty enemies were cool and the freaky looking varuun enemies were cool, the varuun house people didn’t fit the lore and look of house varuun in New atlantis. On a scale of 1 to 10 on dlc 4 maybe 5 and that’s being kind oh and 10 is highest and 1 lowest
I think that the game and the DLC were disappointing. However, I did not mean to make Phil sad.
I wanted more ship parts, and for content to affect the galaxy. But nope. It makes zero difference somehow. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Ugh, I’m tired of hearing Todd Howard’s responses. The buggies are unusable in the DLC. There are boulders everywhere. 🤦🏻♂️
this is what happens when you stack your company full of diversity hires, then wonder why nobody finds the game interesting. You could have done something amazing but you chose this. The game like many of its creators doesnt have an identity. You worked so hard not to offend anybody that nobody can even be bothered to play it. Im a graphics snob and a scifi enthusiast. i was a Huge fan of Freelancer. though id rather load up Torchlight 2 because its more interesting than starfield.
Bethesda is dead, they just don’t know that yet due to all that Microsoft money keeping the lights on. At the bare minimum they should get rid of Howard and get a P.A to deal with communications.
This game will never get a redemption arc like Cyberpunk or No Man’s Sky. No features or enhancements can change the fact that the story and world building are hot garbage like babies first IP.
that dlc is garbage, how can someone be such a corporate shill
While I take them at their word that 250 people were working on Starfield, I feel a large portion was working on creations, with a smaller portion of the team on Shattered Space.
Bethesda spend a year to add buggy and higher tier melee weapon, while they take few week to patch ship tech chest glitch, few month to patch outpost weapon case glitch and now patch ship building glitch. They lazy to delivery the feature that should be added in day-one, but rush to patch the fun element and limit player creativity.
Fix your fkm entangled quest my god! It’s fkn broke.
I don’t think PoI was ever a problem, you have plenty of near identical PoI in their past games too, the problem is the journey leading up to those. Photography and scan is fine and all but there really should be more combat or random quests along the line while you’re travelling from place to place.
The buggy only speeds things up on maybe half of the planets. Other planets have so many obstacles in the way you can’t drive any where so you end up running anyway. But the buggy is a side issue. The two major issues is the lack of new things to find while exploring and the horrid writing. I don’t mean the normal mediocre writing we normally get from Bethesda. The Starfield writing is on another level all together. Its so much worse than any other Bethesda game that came before it. I suspect its because there was no established lore for Emil to fall back on. He had to make it all up as he went. Which just proves what a poor writer he is.
go woke go broke
I used the vehicle about 3 times and found it pointless. After hundreds of hours playing before i stopped, i learnt that planet exploration is essentially pointless. There needs to be massive expansions for ship building, creating industry and business, motherships and settlement building.
“Maybe we should have waited to release buggies…” is the most Steve Jobs sounding piece of nonsense.
The idea that potentially half of bethesda is currently working on starfield and not the elder scrolls blows my mine and hurts my soul
The buggy releasing with the DLC would have fixed the mediocre story, characters, and combat scenarios. It would turn a 6/10 Shattered Space into a 9/11.
Most likely the reason why the DLC’s are taking so long for Starfield is because most of the people who knew how to use the Engine have left, and the newbies who have since been hired have to learn everything from scratch. I’m sure the learning curve is high. So DLC’s will take ten times longer with all of the learning. A lot of game studios have this same issue. That is why more studios are going to Unreal Engine, as it is easier to hire people with experience in it already.
There a game that exactly like Starfield, wich is No Man Sky, yet they made this game like this the only game that use that theme and mechanic thing that well this just a experimental test game that we gambling on, why not just take note what the bad is from No Man Sky or what can we improve more, tbh zero excuses especially BGS is triple A company when NMS is indie game
Bethesda DESPERATELY wanted to create a new IP and then totally neclegted it. Starfield had a good foundation to expand on but instead they just didn’t care and made a mediocre DLC that took them a year to make…
I’ve been a huge fan of Bethesda for years and years. I played and still play Fallout 4, and Skyrim. And I played every Fallout game that ever came out, Oblivion, Elder Scrolls Online, etc. So by NO MEANS am I anti Bethesda.
Here’s the problem…
We can COUNT. Bethesda promised us decades of playability and 1,000 planets. How many unique locations were in Skyrim? 459 to over 600. How many in Fallout 4? 325 to over 350 plus. That’s why we are still playing those games. How many, again, in Starfield? They said 1,000 planets which would make sense given Fallout 4 and Skyrim, their claims of decades in development and decades of playability, but there are only 82 unique locations…
Let’s be super charitable and say 82 locations for $70 plus one DLC with another handful for $30, is 100 unique locations. $100, 100 locations. So for 1,000, you need to pay ten times that amount, $1,000.
I understand completely how this works. I was in IT over 30 years. The idea of a perpetual income stream, instead of a one time purchase is what every company wants. Why charge $70 for one game, and $30 for a single DLC with one planet and a handful of unique locations, when you can hook millions of people with false claims and pure lies, and charge them over and over for what you said you delivered?
Now if Bethesda had said, the game with 1,000 planets will be $1,000, no one would buy it. That’s FAR more than the going market price for games. But if they hook millions of players, with purely fraudulent claims and lies, that the game is $70, plus $30 for “DLC,” and promise 1,000 locations, then you make billions. And you keep making billions, because to GET decades of playability on par with their other titles, it’s $1,000. And people don’t realize, they are NOT paying $100, but over $100 EVERY YEAR, for decades
IF Bethesda had said, you get 82 locations and periodically we will release paid DLC and you will get a handful more for $30 a pop, no problem. Now given their other games, people would naturally ask, “Why such a small game for the premium price?” But it would be legal… But THEY SAID 1,000 locations for the base price. IMO a judge in court would say that’s fraud…
Again I know how this works. Some executives thought they had a clever idea to change a one time purchase into a decades long revenue stream. FINE, if you do it legally. Sounds good, but you can’t claim $100 for 1,000 products, when it’s really $1,000 to actually GET the 1,000 products. Sounds good, billions in income year after year, but again, the way they did it seems like fraud and an illegal scheme.
I think they banked on the fact most judges are old, and gamers don’t realize a corporation is not their friend just because it sells them things they like, or liked in the past. But I say, take their claims to a judge in court who is somewhat tech savvy. Show their “decades of playability and 1,000 planets” claim, in relation to their other titles like Fallout 4 and Skyrim, and only 82 unique locations in Starfield.
We’re not that stupid Bethesda… We can count… You got greedy and lost your way. The endless gaslighting didn’t work.
I got shattered space with my purchase of starfield, i played starfield for 30 hours, a main questline bugged and I couldn’t proceed so I just never played it again. Havent even gone back to try the dlc release
I wanted one of these giant mechs from the war and they gave us space buggies 😂
I’ve been watching a streamer play Morrowind for the first time lately, and the sense of discovery he gets from every minor area, the love put into city design, the custom made items and lore wildly outstrip starfield.
and it was made by the same studio.

They need to focus on making the modding scene more expansive. Adding mechanics like power an armor system, faction creation system, or easier weapon and armor integration systems. This will make modding the game better and easier.
And More Devs, with the woke work culture. Take a break to handle your anxiety or cry break. Edit: If they put this much “attention” into Fallout 4, the player numbers would be ten fold. SMH
Putting vehicles behind a $30 paywall is an awful idea and Sharted Space is 100% cut content. The problem is they made the minimum viable product so they could drip feed paid mods through Creations, mods that add things that should 110% be in the vanilla game (vehicles, varied pois, suits, weapons, qol imrovements, etc). They’re lazy and greedy.
Comment for the algo 👍
It’s hard to reach for the unknown when you know exactly what you’re going to find out there……the same level scaled loot tables you found on Jemison, which is usually apple chunks and a sidestar!
Who cares? Shartfield isn’t even worth thinking about.
It feels like every update is just stuff that should have been there on release..
Skyrim was released pretty fleshed out with things to do and see. Mods just built on that world. Mods or not, it was a big game and easily replayable.
It’s almost like Bethesda made half a game in a massive universe and said “let modders actually make the game good”.
They got lazy.
The loot in this game sucks as well.Having better versions of the same gun is very stupid and feels terrible and im never defending the game again after shattered space.God help us if es6 is anything like this. Also the fact that bloke thinks waiting to put the buggy out would have fixed it probably shows he doesn’t have a clue on what players want or he’s just in denial
I still find it difficult to believe that their take away from this was to inject a quality of life fix into a DLC in order to create the illusion of more content. Let’s not fix the depth and quality of the game, because no that’s not the issue at all…
Bethesda should just let this game die. Talk about beating a dead horse.
if its on the creation store
it isnt an update
I think the reaction to Starfield is overblown, though the game is just okay. It’s got some decent ideas, but I think it needed to be more like TES/Fallout. The fact that NPCs don’t have schedules makes the world feel much less alive.
The usual reduction of players.
New games have been coming out this year.
man i wrote this game off after a few days. DONE nothing they do can bring me back. Just too much i didnt like about it and man that sucked. Had you told me 5 years ago i would hate a BGS game i woulda said youre nuts.
F*** Starfield. I can’t Plat past Into the Unknown because the @#(/!! game won’t give it to me. This is a problem that Google results date from 2 yrs or more ago, with no solution offered. It stops me from progressing the main quest, dead. I used to get upset with all the petty, I thought, Bethesda hate. Now, I’m on board with it.
Still haven’t bought the game, this DLC didn’t make me want to pull the trigger. Elder Scrolls 6 isn’t looking promising folks.
Game is dead to me, they only put a bit of lipstick on the pig… They just don’t want to acknowledge the fan feedback or they hear it but have no interest in listening. The whole skill/perk tree should have got a rework 90% are useless or have minimal impact. Exploring is still a poor experience, UI is still horrible without mods, they loot and game loop systems are among the worst I have ever seen.
Why are we hearing from Todd on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 release day?
The genuine issue plaguing Starfield is it lacks purpose. Even Shattered Space had no real impact overall despite Bethesda’s claim. What gives this universe a reason for existing? Once you proceed to another planet you don’t encounter Va’ruun impacted by your actions on their home world, good or bad! Even the added dialogue from a companion (such as Andreja) doesn’t trigger once the DLC has already been completed…at least for me it didn’t. Short of just leveling up, building ships and outposts there has to be content that makes it all matter, otherwise this is practically Mass Effect 3 all over again. Sadly, I never hated the game…I just lost interest.
starfield does suck but player count on a offline solo player isn’t useful at all
Buggies wasnt the problem, Bethesda and Starfield in general are the problem…and the reason Shattered Space disappointed is because it IS cut content, Bethesda told us this themselves not long after release. Bethesda doesn’t deserve any good will at this point and theyve earned all of the hate they’re getting.
Is Todd just being willfully obtuse at this point? Like what is this man’s problem, we scream our feedback at him and he’s just like “what are you talking about this game is revolutionary?” Like this is making me seriously depressed about ES6’s chance of even being playable…
When the free buggy gives you more options of gameplay throughout the game then the $30 “Big” Expansion
My issue with the dlc was that it only took place one planet on one map of the planet. Park your ship for the whole dlc because you’re not going anywhere outside the Dazra outskirts. The only time you need to go anywhere else is if you specifically take a mission from the mission board. This was like one big faction quest but unlike the other faction quests you are stuck in the same place for the whole duration.
Why are there no roads? Why do people not travel around? Why is the universe so empty and pointless? This game doesn’t feel like a place that people live in. It doesn’t feel like anything. BGS makes boring games, soulless games. At least we got some good ones in the past, but I really have no faith in their future releases.
the people playing starfield better be happy, the rest of us are playing skyrim
Bethesda is slime
He said we didn’t want to fly in and out of planets with our ships is crazy like that is what make space games like Star citizen an no man sky amazing
They need to add that we can fly our ships in and out the planets and around the planet like if they do that it will most definitely at the top of space games with star citizen
Starfield has zero replayability. No aliens, 8 billion people whittled down to like 300. You can do all the factions at once, the romance options are boring, companions are boring – I can’t even talk to them, seriously why can’t I talk to them about thoughts on this place, or thoughts on this quest?
The only conflict is UC sysdef and the pirates, and it doesn’t matter outside the quest which way you go. There is no reward to explore. It doesn’t need as many systems if all the content could be fit on 10% of them.
Bethesda just didn’t think when making this game.
Right now FO4 has 3 times the players than Starfield. Let that sink in.
I don’t play Bethesda games no more they don’t tell me why I can’t get into the mods on fallout 4
It feels like Bethesda is just trying to put in no effort and expect us to eat up the slop a sadly common thing in studios now
I loved the atmosphere of Var’uunkai.
However, its clear to me that Bethesda development is both disconnected and out of touch with what players want.
– The conclusion of the story is not exciting it just destroys more of the legacy of the va’ruun.
– the followers are so feeble and out of touch to what va’ruun identity is, we should have gotten a zealot or a redeemed as a follower.
– the ship and decoration parts, is barely there.
– the different factions matter 0.
And so on.
Your companions are all boring cardboard cutouts. The world is all boring cardboard cutouts. There’s no interaction between the two. Maybe if every companion had another 40 hours
of radiant dialogue that they could share during the gameplay, you might feel more attached? As it stands, the game makes me feel nothing but frustration at the delays between screens. The shooting is no better than Fallout, but at least the world of Fallout is *interesting*, while Starfield feels sterile and randomized. As much as I wanted to love Starfield, it had the same hollow, lifeless feeling as Outer Limits. Its like these people don’t know how to write interesting sci-fi…
I actually somewhat enjoyed this DLC and I think it is a step in the right direction because it is content focused. Biggest complaint is that $30 is unacceptably high for something this short. For that price there needed to be at least a questline consisting of at least 8 quests, and 25 side quests. They really need to stop prioritizing features over quests. Also, we need to face the reality that there’s no fixing the procedural locations. They’re always going to be boring because there’s no substance to them. Minor locations in other Bethesda games are only interesting because of lore, and you can’t procedurally generate that. At this point I think the best move for Bethesda is accepting that Starfield is what it is and moving on to Elder Scrolls 6.
CDPR realized their mistakes and turned cyberpunk around but bethesda said starfield is their best game ever made…
The problem with the game is that it’s not an rpg
The DLC update seems to have caused issues with the way my game runs. It used to lag only occasionally, now it will lag constantly on some worlds, or it will lag for like 0.5 seconds in 3 to 4 second intervals. Not good. It’s not like I have a potato of a computer, either…
Like spraying perfume on a corpse.
Seriously, I don’t even know why I care about this game. I wanted Starfield to become an incredible game, a complete and immersive space game with a lot of interesting content. But, from what I see, this game will not be playable for 10 years like Todd as been proclaiming.
I’m not going to spend a penny on dlc or any damn paid mods for this game, because the greed is too much for me.
Biggest missed opportunity and my biggest complaint is I expected so much more from bringing Andresia. Very disappointing. Got a few comments here and there. The story and culture kinda sucked too.
I play Outer worlds over Starfield every time.
The biggest issue with Starfield and the DLC is Bethesda. They are capable if making a AAA game everyone enjoys. Now they are just PHONING IT IN and riding on past success.
Starfields problems can’t be fixed with more content.
The engine, writing and copy paste content probably can’t be fixed, but they could address the combat and the skilll tree and the UI and the bugs, but they seem to have no interest in doing any of it and history shows they never will.
How about you advocate for Bethesda to modernize their games?
I’m just not into the lore.
performance updates should not be celebrated they were mandatory to make the game playable on a lot of systems, the game released in a worse state than cyberpunk, its still in a worse state than cyberpunk on launch and then if you compare midfield this far out to the fixed cyberpunk is just disgraceful on bethesdas part, and they act like they released something new but its not midfield has “features” that oblivion had “features” that were out dated back then 20 years ago -.-
we didn’t want “features” just a competent game that feels like something released in 2023 not something released in 2004 -.-
NO! it’s not the features (the buggy) that’s the problem, it’s the story-telling, I’ve gone over every which way my grievances with BGS and Starfield that it’s essentially copypasta.
It’s just soo frustrating that we have to wait a decade for a new BGS game and we end up with mid and tame, the entire studio needs a trip to the bathroom and dump out the toxic waste, namely Pagliarulo.
The problem with the game is primarily the bethesda.
this is just usual Bethesda PR because they don’t have any projects they can tease yet
Bethesda hasn’t achieved much since the game launched. Some bug fixes, a car, and a DLC that is clearly cut content. Also, Bethesda is selling tiny broken DLC and calling them mods.
1) Points of interest are a problem. 2) Building ships and outposts are basically the best part but ships, space, and outposts are basically useless and pointless to visit.
A major problem for me is the outpost system. I love the idea of needing outposts for resources but I only need the resources for a short period of time before they have no purpose.
I was so excited for starfield but they just missed the mark on SO many levels…… I could wish for a 2.0 version of the game like No mans sky or Cyberpunk managed but honestly it’d probably be better to just try again. It’s funny because it wasn’t a buggy mess, or missing promised features at launch; they made the game as planned…. it’s just the game they made wasn’t very good. =/ Somehow that feels worse.
Fire the blue hairs > stack your company with toxic neckbeards > profit
id rather they just update fallout 4 or Skyrim than starfield. starfield is just a waste of time.
I don’t own this game and I’m disappointed that there’s no salvage mechanism for larger 1/2-3/4 or completely destroyed ships where you run/float around fight anomalies and get loot salvage parts find storys or logs for lore i just don’t see anything about this game i want
i also feel the loading screens would just ruin it completely anyway the guns look very disappointing, i enjoyed fallout 4 and the cobbled together junk weapons made everything good feel better
(fun garbage, i don’t like unrealistic head shots at all, big gun one shot 1 definitely gonna explode head is why i liked farcry)
i have worries for Elder scrolls 6
i want stealthy everything climbing ropes assassin spells higher quality top tear magic
Conjuring lock picks to get out of jail every time choices changing events in the whole of blackmarsh
(we can dream right?my brother loves Skyrim’s argonians❤)
Better magic schools
Bring back spell crafting
Maybe auto casting buffs at start of combat 🤔
Ps everyone hates red eagles sword please don’t even think that’s ok
Maybe don’t hold my hand as much let me get lost
It’s my favorite thing in the world
Make things harder only if it feels rewarding ✨️ vote on ideas Maybe and let people/artists make vast amounts of in game assets at there none dei discretion
there is nothing they can do unfortunately to fix this game to make it more fun. We know this is true by the lack of players.. it’s just very vast and shallow from its core. We don’t have the technology to just fill it up LOL.
This was the most empty and pointless open world(s) experience ever. My dream starfield would have fewer explorable terrestrial planets with more handcrafted pois more unique alien environments/biomes. Smaller and denser.. We could have focused more on space battles than exploration to different solar systems. We could have played through the war between the factions.
The starborn concept was so lame… was this literally supposed to be skyrim in space???
Just let this game die… It has no Bethesda magic and almost no reply ability.
Their takeaway was that they should have waited for the buggy to be released with the dlc??? That wouldn’t have fixed reception at all, we’re so cooked
that took 9 whole minutes to say 1 minute worth of anything
dude, starfield’s dead. let it go. let’s get back to fallout 4 mod videos
I love starfield and have dropped like $200 on creations (mostly just to make y’all cry)
“6 times the loading screens, 16 times the recycled assets, all of this just works” Todd the hack.
I feel paid mods/creations should not count towards your console mod space limit . I bought a creation for skyrim and on the console menu it only shows the price and not how large the download is or how much it takes up. So my modlist being pretty full I paid $5 for a mod I can’t download 😢
No one at bethesda thinks anything is wrong. That’s terrifying.
A small flying machine would’ve been better than the buggy
They really need to make something in the game like allowing us to build proper colonies to populate planets to come back. Something Sim Settlements 2 style would do it. Right now other than the quests that feel repetitive after a time or two through and after exploring nearly every planet there really isn’t much left for me to do that would draw me back in beyond new content being added. I’ve been going back to Fallout 4 with SS2 lately.
Modders have always saved Bethesda, look on the Nexus page for Starfield, then F4 and Skyrim, you will notice content from some of the biggest authors is missing, they have not, after a year even attempted to sort out this hot mess. Starfields numbers will continue to dwindle no matter what DLC they bring out now. Todds lost the plot and so has the management, time for some auld blood to be bought back the wise auld owls who took their pay offs when Microsoft bought them out, otherwise Skyrim 6 will be yet another lame duck……if I live long enough to see it release..
BGS grew into a bloated mess. They have to restructure or ES 6 is going to be another shitshow
At least, somehow they managed to fix fo76, but starfield, better be forgotten and we move on to ES6 and fo5
They need to give up on this game and focus on Fallout. There cash cow.
I wish developers would realize more employees don’t equate to better results. Because it takes weeks to get input from one team to another for something minor. More employees means everything is slower, and the more people you have the skill quality lowers overall.
Starfield was great. Don’t get the hate.
I’m trying to figure out what the “slower pace” for updates translates to. It took them 2 *months* to release a small bugfix patch for Shattered Space (albeit with a free buggy thrown in). Any slower and we’re looking at *maybe* quarterly updates in 2025. That’s not what I expect when Bethesda says they’ll support Starfield for years to come – it sounds a game that’s near end-of-support.
The biggest issue with Shattered Space is that it’s not very replayable, so players aren’t inclined to play through multiple times in NG+ to see the consequences of your choices. I see this as another glaring failure of management when they designed Starfield content (*everything* should have been made with multiple NG+ playthroughs in mind).
We really need an indie studio to step up and make “Bethesda games” in the style of Morrowind or other classics. You know, back when they were *actually* RPGs and players had more agency in how they approached the game content.
The biggest issue of the game to me is the scale of the cities. The main cities are just way too small, and then there are like no other cities at all?? Realistically, this universe should have a ton of variation on settlements, since the Freestar Collective seems to let you do what you want. The small POI’s with civilians or workers on remote planets are actually decent and have a lot of variations, but some settlements in between this and the main cities were much needed. The planets that have the main cities also should feel significantly different from the other planets, but instead you get the same POI generation that makes no sense next to a city. I would have at least liked a ton of giant shipyards branching out from the cities, showing that more than 2 civilians can park a ship in a city at a time…
They didn’t add a romance tree for Veronica Young
No yay
What gun were you using?
I still haven’t even bought the game… And i own basically every bethesda game. Imma just stick to downgraded fo4 and downgraded sse.
My take? The best part of SF was your ship. Upgrading, building, flying, checking out new parts. The expansion had you never touch it
I keep on telling you. The talent left Bethesda. Quantity does not equal quality. The number of devs working on it is meaningless. How competent or committed are those devs compared to the lost talent? Well… I think we know. Starfield SHOULD be the wake up call that TES6 and FO5 are likely doomed.
Less work on Starfield and more on ES6. In fact more work on Fallout (3, NV and the mod community in general).
So personally, I do enjoy the game for what it is, but I am also disappointed with some of the game, from exploration being enjoyable for the first bit, to limited romance options, outposts not as fun or engaging as FO4 settlements. I do hope the modding scene becomes more pronouced as time goes on, some of my favorite mods on Fallout 4 didn’t come out until 3-4 years after the game released, so I expect the same for Starfield.
Starfield has so much potential, I love the graphics, I enjoy the factions for what they are, and the combat is personally enjoyable for me.
I’m still enjoying the game and I loved the expansion. I hope they dont give up because they do have a diamond in the rough here.
https://youtu.be/mwKWOWmxVvo?si=OEtBtAS4eIrFpbj6
If i can do this, you are starting your audio too close to the beginning of the video
I like to defend Bethesda.
They make great games. Might not be perfect but it’s enough. Just fix the bugs and glitches.
Fallout 4 and 76 are great games. I’m on a break now. Looking at similar games, they hold up. Things gets added all the time.
People complain about the lack of content. It can be added, no problem. Their worlds are great and the details with that.
People bash them because of the bandwagon. Try to find something positive and go with that.
I know you guys invested time and emotions, i know. Helping Bethesda excel is a better choice.
“Starfield sucks” is not a vocal minority, it’s the vocal majority lol
Right, the whole of the problem with current bethesda games is Emil, period. This is where refusing to let go of your BFF at the expense of your entire company starts to really not pay off, Todd.
I thought for sure BGS would add something substantial like introducing other INTELLIGENT life forms. The Starfield universe desperately needs something that would actually intrigue players to come back because as it is the Starfield universe doesn’t capture people’s imagination like the Fallout universe or TES universe does. Starfield feels soulless. I’d like to know what genius thought “hey let’s make a space game that excludes the main thing people find intriguing about space games! That’s what the people want!!!!”
In not saying anything about quality. But we keep quoting Steam numbers. If you look at Creations downloaded, Xbox numbers are consistently 4-5 times higher than PC. So, are there 4-5 times more people playing on Xbox?
The entire game was trash and is a poorly made cash grab.
They need to abandon this IP and move onto TES6
And they need to switch to Unreal Engine 5.5
Theres no way im purchasing TES 6 if its on the CE2 and as benal as this game
The problem wasn’t it took too long to get from a to b. It was that nothing interesting happened in between.
I got Star field on game-pass. i tried it played a while, got board do too some bugs. which even after those bugs was “Fixed”. I still could not get into it. So yeah i uninstalled it. even the buggy and some other things fixed or added did not peak any interest. Then this dlc came out and was not thrilled about price. I mean why pay $30 for a dlc when i can buy a whole game for that price with WAY more content. I am so glad i didn’t pre-order this game. If i reinstalled this game it would not be to play the game as is, but to install one of those conversion mods. (side not the voice acting just seemed off to me so did the dialog camera’s , to be honest the dialog camera’s felt like i was playing Outer Worlds. ok i ranted enough I’m going back to FOLON.)
i pre ordered the 100 dollar where I got shattered space for free…. but when I logged in again I just… it honestly wasn’t worth my time, I dont know if I’ll ever actually play the expansion past the first quest.. that would require having to install it again, probably not going to happen unless the the mod scene really takes off, which doesn’t look like is going to happen.
amazing. you talk so much and say so little (new things).
Honestly, sometimes I feel like I’m the only person who truly loves this game, and it makes me feel bad.
You’re not all fans. I’ve been fine since launch. You speak for a minority or yourself. I’m tired of your hate.
I enjoyed the base game was 9/10 for me u can call me a fanboy but the dlc is bad 1/10, 1st mission was great though
The weirdest decision about shattered space was not to add ship parts, because ship builders seem to be the most active community for the game…
I have no doubt that Shattered Space was cut content. I think what gripes me is that on top of it being cut content they reused assets, like the “scary phase monster” that is a creature we’ve seen innumerable times on other planets. The “clutter” was the same as everywhere else in the game, few new armor sets and weapons-there was nothing that made Shattered Space feel like anything new. It being so short and overpriced just added insult to injury. Shattered Space should have been a companion quest.
I only have two issues with the game more locations in the base game that are not the same and Bethesda needs to listen to us I need to stop making things look good The game needs more things in it we need improvements in a game to fix it it’s a shame they don’t want to listen or don’t care about us The ones that we bought the game from fix the game studio
Dead game
I think his comment of “Should we have put buggies out?” shows how COMPLETELY TONE DEAF Todd Howard is….
The issue wasn’t the buggy, the issue was CONTENT, and a vehicle is just a single item. What about weapons? Armor? Ship parts? Ship options?
Heck… there has been a section in weapons called “skins” which has practically had nothing in it. How hard would it have been to add a couple of these in as well or even added a “make your own skin” allowing you to shade the defaults or add your own patterns?
The fact he didn’t think having a buggy in the beginning WASN’T a problem, and now putting the buggy out outside of the DLC IS NOW a problem shows how out of touch he is
What is it with these company bosses???? Is it really that hard to live in the real world and understand your audience?
I had no interest in Starfield when it came out, especially not for full price. It recently went on sale (35% off including DLC) and now that there are hundreds of mods I’m really enjoying it. The latest update apparently solved the 255 mod limit to now be around 4,500 (PC only Probably)
Bare minimum! *Clapping*
They are just doing the bare minimum in order to squeeze out as much of the remaining playerbase till they leave.
“an expansion a year, as long as people are still interested” … so….. no more expansions then aye? very big shame on beth for being disconnected from their own game, their strengths as a studio, and their player base. Thinking someone loves your game when really you made something ok but far from your own greatest achievements and most of the goodwill from players are built on the past games memories and strengths. Beth is indeed starting from scratch for elder scrolls, which is wild to think about, and way more pressure for them than what would have been if starfield never happened. I’m hopeful but also fully removed now from beth as something to care about for now, they aren’t making things for me anymore 🙁
Starfield? You mean failed space Skyrim?
As a solo developer myself, physics is hard. Vehicles that the player can drive are hard. They need a thousand and one things to get right, to ensure the wheels can flex correctly, that the chassis has the correct physics so as not to clip the world, but also not cause complete chaos if it bounces off the floor too hard. These things take a lot of very smart people to design without completely wrecking system resources (which starfield already struggles with).
With this in mind, I can understand Todd’s perspective of “should we have delayed buggies?” Not because the buggies deserved to go with the expansion, although the fact they’re a free update is worthy of praise, but because they would’ve been taking valuable people away from the shattered space expansion and forced the issue of making the expansion smaller. If they delayed and focused all the resources on just the expansion, it likely would’ve felt more complete, but people were at the time, immediately concerned with the fact that exploring away from the ship’s initial landing site can be a massive bore, as there is nothing to do but sprint and maybe jump jet for a bit of flair.
It’s important to understand that bethesda only talks in corpo speak. they tell you what you want to hear because they would lose money otherwise and need you to keep buying their product. I wish the community would stop taking what they say at face value.
Not getting anything from Bethsaida ever again.
Kek… starfield is still a thing ?
Just give us a new fallout game already lol
the thing is this is fallout in space so its redundant and sucks
Keep pushing back Xbox boys, you deserve better
Thank goodness i don’t rely on reviews to tell me what entertainment to like.
I feel like the problem is that in attempting to intentionally create a game that “Will last 10 years,” they felt the need to add so much content that they didn’t actually have time to flesh out any of it so almost everything that’s there is mediocre at best because as soon as they finished making the bare minimum the devs would get assigned to something else and as such would be unable to fully complete the original thing.
I still hate myself for having bought this and would happily join a legal class action suit against it for misrepresentation if that is a thing
What we wanted was a phantom liberty revamp to this game, for the devs to know they messed up and delivery us an im sorry and we’re capable of more you know it and we know it
I like what Starfield wanted to be… What shattered space wanted to be, but… I’d like to see a not completely half-assed version of it tho.
Steam reviews are an aggregate of reviews. This isn’t a bunch of review bombers, or bots, or rogue AI coming after the game. If it is sitting at “Mostly Negative” that is not a vocal minority…that is a voiced majority of people who bought the expansion and didn’t like it. Also…no paid mods ever!
I liked Starfield, was it the greatest Bethesda has ever made? No, is it the worst? No, I liked it, it was a bit disappointing in many aspects, but the fact their new engine ran so smoothly was incredible, the graphics, incredible and the gameplay was so nice. I see where people are coming from, but i think they are going overboard. Shattered space, was good, idk what people are talking about, i think people are trying to hate on bethesda just like its the cool new thing to do for some reason. Its weird
If The mod hub wasn’t so it woke it would be a fantastic game
Bethesda is a lazy greedy company reliant on its modding community to improve and finish its games just look at skyrim how many updates has their been yet it still looks graphically like the day it was released obsolete trash and if your on Xbox you only get a pathetic 5gb to fix an obsolete game that should have been updated graphically years ago
My biggest issue with starfield was lack of everything, not a lot of weapons, bad armor sets, and clothes. Not enough enemies and the lack of an intelligent alien with their own culture, weapons, and ships.
Their response was a joke, just like their game. Starfailure is dead, it was a flop. Not even 10% returned for shitty space
Yeah it was definitely the timing of the buggy update, if they’d just have delayed it they’d be seeing a 500% increase in player numbers. /s
I really thought that they were going to shadow drop tons of new gameplay features along with the DLC. 😅 Such as: POI overhaul, space travel between planets (like an enhanced version of the Astrogate mod), combat/ stealth finisher animations, new vehicles, new ship parts, new full companions / romance options (like the Constellation ones), and space station building.
This was their time after a year to make big waves and bring back players. Instead there was just the rover and an unambitious DLC.
The fact that they didn’t think it was important (or were unable) to add new meaningful features alongside their first DLC (after a full year – with four times as many devs as Skyrim) speaks volumes as to where BGS are at & where they are headed. It’s sad to watch.
They added almost nothing throughout the year. A car and maps is completely negligible content.
I hope they eventually add space flight between planets within a solar system! (like an enhanced version of the astrogate mod). 🪐
Also, ‘space walking’ outside of ships, & POI overhaul. They also need more interesting factions to join in DLCs
my problem with starfield was that the different faction quests were far superior to the main quest. the main quest had a disappointing and unsatisfying ending in my opinion. finding all those artifacts should have led to the discovery of an alien race and its fantastic universe-altering secret–or something along those lines. also, the different powers should have been obtained each time we discovered and touched an artifact; there was no need to go gallivanting around the galaxy to locate a gazillion additional temples, each one exactly the same, and go thru the same animation again and again. (i grew so bored of this that i simply installed a mod that gave me all the powers at max level.) here’s a tip, bethesda: for next year’s dlc, have it include an alternate ending, one with aliens and truly ancient ruins, complete with dungeons and bosses and great discoveries. in other words, make it exciting.
I couldn’t get excited for Shattered Space and having realized that I just uninstalled. I figure I’ll check back in with Bethesda in 12 years for Fallout 5
BETHESDA as a whole has lost its integrity, and credibility with the consumer. Dont trust them one bit.
I’m enjoying a 10 dollar DLC from stellar blade than anything shattered space had to offer.
you can just see bethesda cant handle doing all the content on 2024 technology and also fixing the game at the same time while also doing TES6. and fallout 76. now do you just go 100% on TES6 or you keep working on Starfield which is an unique issue and could get you valuable info moving forward. i think they said starfield will be supported for a while. i wonder what else are they planning to do. imo they need to do a lot to make it feel like a game and not empty space simulator. probably would have to go back and make legitimate stacked locations which would defeat the idea of what starfield was supposed to be. idk. it took 2 or 3 years to fix cyberpunk. suppose ill give starfield a shot in years time.
The game feels empty, then alot of the planets have the same freak bases and events. It’s boring.
Is it too hard to add a couple new city poi’s with expanded faction missions. That’s all it needs for a good dlc
Just need mechs and a cool looking lore friendly alien race to expand the universe. Which is what I thought house varuun was leading up to but it didn’t which was a bummer. I’m still bummed out the great serpent wasn’t a space traveling argonian. Outside of that modders are making the game epic.
We want MORE QUESTS! What don’t they understand about that?
Bethesda is so out of touch now. Todd Howard has no idea what made their previous games great. The more and more he speaks, the more and more I realize Bruce Nesmith should have been the studio head and not Todd Howard.
I’ve said this since the beginning. What Bethesda should do is basically cancel everything Starfield and redirect all resources to ES6. Phil Spencer should be ordering this and fire Todd if he resists. Everybody is basically done with Starfield. Also fire Emil and pay whatever it takes to get George RR Martin on board.
I wonder if MS bringing their contractor mandate to Bethesda now. It’s a major issue with Halo and other XGS devs. Would explain why it takes a whole lot of time to do a little bit of work.
I know there was a lot of controversy about the DLC there could’ve been more but I did enjoy it.
Not enough features and they thought waiting to release the buggy with shattered space would have sufficed? Is that a fucking joke? Right there is the problem. How have all these once great companies become so useless and incompetent?
I still haven’t finished Shattered Space. I’ve never played a game that felt simultaneously finished and unfinished at the same time. The art and and systems are there, the quests and the writing are not IMHO.
I honestly think one decently big reason people were less interested in Starfield is because being in Space puts a HUGE limit on the armor/cosmetic side of things, especially because it seems like Bethesda wants to keep it closer to the realism side of things. Fallout and Elder Scrolls have wide varieties of armor, anywhere from similar to VASTLY different, but all the spacesuits in Starfield are ‘samey’ with unique sets being the only ones that look, well, different, but even then they’re still similar. I genuinely think they should’ve taken more inspiration from other games(Halo/Destiny/Helldivers to name a few) and had more armored space suits that actually look cool.
It also probably doesn’t help that Fallout 4 had the more customizable armor system it did, being able to equip like 9 items total(3 = headgear{Mask, Glasses, Hat}, 1 = clothing, 5 = armor), actually, even if they just added ‘armor’ that was invisible but added stats that probably would’ve been enough to attract more people… since it wouldn’t actually show up, calling them ‘Reinforcements’ would probably be better too.
Love that verified creations no longer disable achievements. Lot of cool creations that add neat features to the game.
The story is the worst
well guys ES6 is going to be awful i have lost all faith in this company
Anyone supporting BGS at this point is beyond stupid.
The game is so unbearable haven’t even gotten through the first like 3 missions definitely not buying the dlc😂😂
with how its going they wont have another dlc and shouldnt tbh game is bad they had a chance to fix it with this dlc and didnt there is zero reason to redownload this garbage
RIP ES6 😢
I was not that interested in the Va’ ruun to begin with, other than how The Great Serpent became their god.
The DLC felt really lame in exploring that. All I got from it was the feeling that Va’ ruun are a pretty pathetic faction (cult). I did get a better outfit fro Andreja that feels more appropriate for combat. I feel no desire to play the expansion fully again. That is really odd for me because I always play through Dragonborn and Dawnguard whenever I do a new Skyrim play-through.
Why should I? Playing through the DLC did not change the Settled systems in any noticeable way. I did like the map of Dazra. The areas around the city give it more life. They should do the same for New Atlantis and Akila City.
I am happier for the mods that have been improving the game where Bethesda has dropped the ball: Better follower behavior, overstocked vendor and Legendary vendors, Useful Brigs and Infirmaries, Darkstar Manufacturing, Ship Management tools (especially calling in your ship to any location on the map), Alternate Vasco, and I am about to explore some POI randomization mods.
The modders shouldn’t have to do any of this. It should already be in the game. All I need now is a Reputation System to make game play more dynamic in how the various factions react to your actions.
Stanfield needed more Jiub.
The players who didn’t know about the buggy, but did come back for the dlc essentially got the ”delayed buggy” experience.
They didn’t enjoy the dlc any more than anyone else.
🤷♂
I’m surprised there’s still 4k players playing on steam.
I heard that Starfield really opens up after 240 h of playtime though
Not defending Starfield but, Steam user scores are not trustworthy at all. Most of the scores are basically the users asking themselves “do i love or hate this company?”
On the modder side, Bethesda used a licensed technology for lipsyncing characters. So no mods (paid or free) can have human characters that speak normally until they can figure out that licensing.
If Bethesda wants to keep Starfield as a long term franchise, IMHO they need to make a revamped ‘2.0’ release of Starfield like CDPR did with Cyberpunk. I know its hard to take player feedback because it isn’t always coherent or constructive. But they should do two things for Starfield: Take exploration to the next level, if you are wandering a bigger play area (space).. then the scale and scope of encounters has to match. Second, they need to make planets and solar systems coherent… instead of randomly generating where the player lands and put generic POIs, they need to actually divide the planet into sectors and populate the planet ahead of time with ‘2.0’ POIs that integrate better with the game. Integrating Outposts better would hurt either.
Starfield is a nihilistic symphony.
Some random encounters on your way to the 1211st time to deserted listening post. Story telling. Actual story telling. Tie whoever created multiverse and artifacts in with they wanted Starborn to endlessly kill each other over and over. No lore to bite your teeth into. They might as well made a shooter.
It’s small, but in intentional or not there’s a small reason that’s not just Bethesda being greedy to do free “Sidequest mods” like this beyond getting you to look at the store: Compatibility. If a preexisting mod’s somehow impacted by the free mod, you can just remove it and keep your mod.
Everybody cries out in disappointment, meanwhile this is exactly what I expected from BGS, and they still sold 15M copies, which is 7M more than launch, with players returning. Game’s a success and a stepping stone to ES6. That’s all. Will play it when it’s remastered.
Juice I really want more content for this game 😅 I heard trackers alliance dropped more bounties or something but I haven’t been able to check for myself yet
Sharted Space
Yes, but vocal minorities, like the Wokies, force other people to think and do things they might not otherwise do. Like trash a game, or not even try it.
Content aside, its just hard to get back into a game with this many perfromance problems. The buggy worsened it. I cant drive anywhere without constant microfreezing.
Bethesda has made some of the best DLC in the industry. They are the ones who had the most to prove after the over priced horse armor and went above and beyond with Skyrim’s Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC. Those are some of the few DLC that I can say are worth $40-$50 in an industry where most DLC should only be $10-$20 for what they are worth and add to the base game.
With FO4 and now Starfield it’s like they went backwards, they still have tons to prove, you can’t just release one good game and rerelease it over and over again acting like anything else you make gets a pass!
Bethesda needs to seriously step it back up. It’s not like they have to be bad! People want to like their games! But if they just phone it in every time, people will just phone it in with their criticism. Meaning they’ll stop giving them a chance.
I pray for ES6, it doesn’t look good for ES fans but maybe some of ESO’s crew can help out, they like lore enough to curb Bethesda’s worst habits, even if the gameplay likely can’t be saved…
Well, it’s positively terminal, to no one’s surprise. Only divorced dads and people that have to, like this game now. I wanted Starfield to succeed. I think if the plot occurred during the war between the UC and Freestar, and you had to pick a side with consequences, or more player freedom and fewer glass walls everywhere. Maybe someday some madman will have the Gaul and be stubborn enough to make an Enderal for Starfield, but today is not that day.
I have as much interest in Starfield/Shatterd Space as I do in FO76, which zero. I am tired of Bethesda and its buggy, lack luster content. Their games wouldn’t continue to see any player time if it wasn’t for the modding community. Best thing Xbox/Microsoft can do is FIRE Todd Howard, gut Bethesda and turn it all over to Obsidian.
“Oh no starfield had an update the other day might as well get my hatred bandwagon turned up so I can get my click revenue going woohoo” said “gaming journalists”
So far only paid mods by verified creators are achievement friendly
My main issue was lack of completely new weapons and armor. Thats what I like in most bethesda dlcs.
If they released 2 similar expansions every year like this one, they might do well. It got people back for a little while. And anyone waiting for everything to come out before they buy the game will get a lot of stuff by that time. Also make the POIs closer to the ship. Realistically, nobody would park that far away. It’s like “I need to go to walmart, so I’ll park in front of the courthouse a mile away and walk there”… I know walmart parking is bad, but yeah…
If Shattered Space was the last Starfield related thing Bethesda made I would be pretty happy. This game and franchise isn’t worth returning to.
You can tell modders have given up on the game because we would have tons of NSFW mods by now
Smh its probably gonna take years to get good like fallout 76
So the answer was to wait on releasing vehicles? That was supposed to fix Starfield? Wow Phil Spencer! 😂 I have been In support of this game for a bit now. To hear their lame excuses on why things aren’t working out, not only makes me not want to even try to fix my game that does not work currently but also makes me more pissed off at Bethesda for releasing this slop. It just gets to the compilation screen and crashes my computer. Started doing that after the release of Shattered Space. Either they give up on the game or they can take some responsibility and fix the game so people can enjoy it!
You’ve been an optimist when it comes to Starfield. I think that hope has been obscuring your analysis of what’s going on.
From the very start, Todd and Emil’s opinion seemed to mirror that Simpsons meme; “Am I out of touch? No, it’s the children who are wrong.”
They didn’t see anything wrong with Starfield, and they weren’t going to change it significantly. And it’s absurd launch sales (driven mostly by Bethesda Brand hype instead of game info) reinforced that idea for them.
As for why the DLC was subpar. Because they’re lying about how many people are involved in developing content for the game. Or they’re fudging those numbers by including marketing, facility management staff, and janitorial staff. Or, and here’s the darker option. The reason why all those earlier game DLCs came out so fast, was because they were being developed alongside the core games and were mostly done by launch.
And no, Todd didn’t confirm they were doing annual DLC. When asked if they wanted to in that Matty interview he said “”I would say we want to…more or less, yeah. How long that continues? Hopefully, a very long time, but that’s…we’re planning for the one after this, so there will be another one.” That’s not the answer of a man who actually has anything planned out on paper. That’s a soft answer about what he’d like to do. If he did have anything actually planned he would have hinted or hyped a little with “oh, we’re going to some interesting places after this.” which is what Todd does. This was a corporate spokesman trying to make it seem like they have a plan and have already started on it.
let’s be blunt. They didn’t think they’d need to do any more design work on the game after the 1 DLC and they’re struggling. They have no ideas and no plans. Todd and Emil had this “vision” for their ideal dream game, but they didn’t have any actual STORY ideas. They’re fine creating content to go in settings and stories other people created originally. But when on their own the best they can do is “What if Firefly, but boring and not a western”.
It’s harder for them to make dlc, because modders haven’t been modding starfield, so they can’t just steal mods to build the dlc’s
Literally everything about this game was painfully bad. I cant wait until they basically admit it, later on. Hopefully after they’ve pulled an insane comeback post TES V. Which most of us dont believe is possible anymore– themselves included.
You broke my heart Starfield
Shattered Space I was expecting to be akin to Eve Online news bit with the Scope describing a new cult “Crimson Harvest” return. That would have been more exciting than what we got.
The buggies should have been available at launch. They are too critical to the flow of gameplay. Buggies literally made it a complete game.
To completely turn the consumer reception around, Bethesda needs to put a lot of work into POI. They need to either more than double the number of dungeon crawls or add as much procedural generation to to POI as the terrain itself has.
Honestly haven’t played it even though I have it downloaded… I feel bad because I’ve booted up Skyrim more times in the last year than Starfield. It just never hooked my like Skyrim. I think there’s a place for systematic content creation and I think that makes a good skeleton for fleshing out by devs. The devs make the meat meaty. We need meat! Gameplay protein sustains us! MMMMMEEEEEEAAAAAAATTTTTT!!!!!!
They could have gone crazy and added some cool stuff. Maybe some way to build roads? Customization for the vehicle? They should have added random tile sets for the poi so they aren’t all exactly the same, unique varuun parts for ships? It doesn’t make any sense that they have the exact same parts as all the other colonies if they had been cut out. There was so many cool things they could have done, and they did none of them. And partly it might be due to most dlc owners being the ones that bought the edition of the game that came with it so they didn’t have to sell it to anyone because we had already bought it. So my bad, but never again.
Yeah, yeah, people aren’t playing it right, making games is hard, yada, yada, yada.
Ahh yes the three Bs as I’ve come to call it. Bethesda, Bioware, and Blizzard. True legends, giants and pioneers of game design, that created some of the most amazing games of all time, and now each one is a crude facsimile of themselves, stifling passion and creativity, and replacing it with KPIs, post launch monetization, and market share. I think Bo Burnham sums it up nicely in his song repeat stuff: “Yeah, we know it’s not right, we know it’s not funny, But we’ll stop beating this dead horse when it stops spitting out money”
If they think the only issue with Starfield are bugs and polish, they have become EA more than I thought. Pushing out paid creations on Fallout 4 that were broken on launch and not fixing them yet as far as I am aware, Bethesda has seriously become the villain in the gaming world. Coming from me, someone with almost 4k hours in modded Skyrim, 2k hours in Fallout 4, and have even uploaded two mods for Skyrim myself, I am done with Bethesda. Unless they course correct which I do not see happening, I will never give them another dime.
Elder scrolls 6 will be the make or break moment for Bethesda. The best way to prove their critics wrong is to be a success and they can no longer rely on the good will they built up as they’ve used it all up.
People still taking Todd Howard at face value? 😂😂
I get StarField has its problems but people hate in this game too hard.
Ngl I never even finished shattered space
Did they tell people that it’s not a bad game via AI responses on steam reviews again?
So, even after the expansion, Bethesda still has no idea what fans actually want and why exactly people don’t care about Starfield. Figures…
Updating Starfield is like putting a foodpedal on a trash can
Bethesda needs new blood in the crew!!
I’d definitely have made the buggy launch the same day because it’d not have been a staggered hype bump
When will we get an official Survival Mode? I want to play Starfield, but I would prefer to play it with fuel requirements and maybe some “rest stop” refueling stations floating about.
It’s like they made a space game and they forgot to add anything really awesome about that genre.
Shattered space main quest appears under the faction section of the quest log, so yeah…cut content is prob true.
Todd: “Dang it! We should have made ’em pay $10 for the Buggy!”
Fallout 4 was an early sign that Bethesda lost its sauce, I’m no longer really looking forward to ES6
more locations less planets, that’s the lesson Bethesda must learn, they already have plenty of planets, what they need is less so they can better flesh out the fewer planets to make them feel more worth exploring.
otherwise it’s just copy and paste nonsense.
Bethesdas latest release is also always their worst
Bethesda took a shot at a dartboard with their new IP (Starfield) and in my humble opinion, there’s too many Skyrim (and/or Fallout) fans to embrace Starfield
I was one of the people who bought the “early access” version of the game with the season pass included. To this day, I still have not bothered to reinstall Starfield. I see no genuine reason to do that with Shattered Space. That dlc, in my opinion is not a genuine expansion, its just a quest line for an existing faction which should have been in the game on launch with reskins of existing weapons and gear… Traditionally Bethesda expansions add a lot more.
Fallout 4 being a perfect example of this. Automatron added the ability to create robot companions and to customise the existing two, Codsworth & Curie (before the synth quest). It had a full questline with side quests and repeatable quests. New areas to explore, new unique weapons & armour. Far Harbour & Nuka World added similar content but also entirely new world spaces.
The big difference between a genuine expansion and a faction quest from the main game, is you are not forced to join a faction to do the content… In Shattered Space you are forced to join House Verrun, if you want to play any Shattered Space content. As for the buggy, I couldn’t care less. It looks clunky and sluggish. Where as if you invest perks in to the boost pack you can zoom across the map with ease which makes the buggy pointless, especially on rough or mountainous terrain.
need Biom structure mods, to make the planet surfaces more organic / complex, need multiple quest & companion mods & creations, to give the game almost the same depth as the base game of Fallout 4..
…
Starfield is overall too bare bone, and too tame
Mods can help Starfield be better and Bethesda can to if they do what they usually do back in the day
So any news for fallout 4 bug fixes
Would love to see this on PS5
My issue with Bethesda is the have been relying on Moders and the Creation Club to add stuff to their games or fix issues instead of doing it themselves, yes the mods can be a huge plus to the games but they should a additive not adding content or finishing things that should have been in the first place
For me the problem with Starfield and why I couldn’t get into the game is the copy paste POIs. The illusion of it being a vast galaxy is quickly broken when a location on the opposite side of the galaxy is 1:1 with a location I saw 2 hours into my playthrough. I understand it’s a game but when bethesda themselves refer to the experience of the game being similar to walking on the real moon I have to get realistic and point out the idiocracy in that perspective.
Calling Shattered Space an extension is an insult to all the other games extensions, like Phantom Liberty, etc.
Shattered Space is a small dlc, a paid mod, at best.
Imagine giving Bethesda another chance after Fallout 76
I still argue it’s subject matter that people have a problem with more than the quality of the writing, using Va’ruun’kai to explore the aftermath of an -un-natural disaster instead of exploring House Va’ruun doomed that part of the DLC from the start.
but yeah at least they know people want more features at least, we’ll see how that plays out next time tho.
Shattered Space shattered what immersion those who DID enjoy the vanilla experience still had left … it went from Sci-Fi to straight up Space Fantasy in a blink of an eye in an elaborate “spectacle” of a DLC with vibrant colors & gritty themes to attract those back who didn’t like the game to begin with. IMO Shattered Space was not just a dropped ball but a cannon ball slung into the side of the tiny sloop of fans that still liked the game for its grounded sense & explainable phenomena.
Needed to free space for stalker 2, Ill reevaluate the game in a year’s time, give a chance for the modding scene to pick up.
The DLC does not let us be speaker despite having the choice which is an insult to people who likes being faction leader.
I saw a spoiler video instead of playing it
Player count is never a good metric to follow for single player games. People finish games, and move on. Skyrim and Fallout 4 are obviously different because they have a decade plus worth of mods to transform them into dozens of different kinds of games.
Gamers – This game feels dated, and needs more content.
MS/BGS – we should have made gamers wait longer for the meagre additions we *did* make.
🤯🤯🤯
A bit difficult for me to wrap my head around buying a DLC that costs almost half of what the base game costs and adds maybe 5% more content, maybe.
I enjoyed my run with Starfield when it launched, it was different and yet familiar at the same time. Once I saw the sights however and put my 70 hours in it was ultimately just kind of boring. Dragonborn in space? You had a decade to develop this title and that’s what you came up with?
Oh well, we will always have Morrowind to look back on, nothing lasts forever.
Bethesda will NEVER learn!
6:07 this is a game industry issue. Not a BGS specific thing. AAA companies have become more bureaucratic. Thus everything takes longer.
Bethesda’s main problem is Todd Howard. He assumes everybody is going to love anything he puts out just because his name is attached. He’s not Kojima, but he wishes he was so badly.
not even the lore of starfield is interesting or creative but mostly rubbish (12 free star rangers in all of the galaxy …lol…)
Bethesda needs to hire some real nerds to write their game plots.. they have too few dungeon masters in their ranks…
Starfield deserves better.
It’s the only open moddable space FPS RPG. It has massive potential.
Give the dev tools to people with imagination and care.
Make the cities larger. Add more homesteads and colonies.
Give us the ability to build up those colonies like in Fallout 4.
Add more missions, quests, POIs, unusual landscapes to explore.
Make the current main quest optional and change the game into a Space Man Sim with more possibilities for role play.
Take out the DEI body 1/2 bollocks and overhaul the female NPCs.
The game can overall have some improvement, it has some good and bad content, same with dlc but I just feel Bethesda could have provided more. Even in skyrim something as small as your wife having a wedding ring its a thing. I enjoy starfield more because of mods, so than you modders, I appreciate it but it shouldnt be their job to have an amazing game with mods when its from a prestige company as Bethesda.
Anticipated games of the last 18 months have mostly been shitshow, same with most game devs / publishers right now…one catastrophe after another…what is going on? ? ?
Bethesda has always been lazy, idk how they haven’t gone under yet.
Todd and Emil are way too tone deaf. It’s insane. They need to be fired effective immediately.
There is a way to address the “running to locations” issue. Instead of “fast travel”, or a “vehicle”, make game so people are easily sidetracked. On the way to main location, collect valuables, repair gear, craft mission critical consumables, meet new npcs, manage inventory, feed creatures, claim pets, have random interactions based on setting, changing conditions based on time of day, make gear type synergize with factions and resources. Have game transition seamlessly.
Long way from point A to point B is part of every good game.
What makes something a great game is how much distractions studio places in between.
In this regard, modern day Bethesda is shameful, and miles behind newer, lesser studios.
every dollar and minute spent on Starfield is another dollar and minute I don’t have Fallout 5. Forget Starfield.
Another day, another update breaking mods again… I wish there were a way for Bethesda to let modders know ahead of the updates what all in the game’s coding has been changed so mods could be updated faster.
The way to solve this
Fix fallout 4
I wouldn’t play this trash if it was free.
If we got this game like 2 or 3 years after fallout 4 it would’ve been good, but here we are like what 10 Years after F4 and we haven’t gotten anything else?
i hope they are learning from these mistakes and the next elder scrolls is at least half as good as skyrim content / quest wise idc about bugs they are expected from bethesda at this point
Save your energy and try Death Stranding on Xbox dragon born gone to space is not good
i don’t agree with the abandon the game mindset i think if bethesda puts in the effort the game can be one of the best space sims out there with better and more POI’s, story expansions, outpost & ship parts and mechanics etc but i’m not sure if that is worth waiting EVEN LONGER for ES6 and FO5
Worry not Emil is here to tell you that you guys don’t understand what a good game actually is. 😉
Well this happens when you take quantity over quality. I love everything Bethesda but let’s be honest here, the fact that Starfield was broken AF at release and don’t get me started on the mini map but back to topic. The idea that you let fans mod the games is great and all but to rely on it is insane! I don’t know anymore. I don’t know if I can be excited for the new Fallout or Elder Scrolls.
You shouldn’t be using a DLC to fix core problems in the game.
I havnt had starfield installed for over a year, im not interested in returning to it and frankly I dont even think modders are interested in the title.
Releasing the Buggy with shattered space would have been dumb. You can barely even drive it on the planet and it was clearly designed for jump packing around.
It almost seems like the bigger these studios get, the worse their games become. Like yeah, they look more sleek and are less buggy and are more “modernized” or whatever, but they just forget what “fun” means and what players actually enjoy.
I like Starfield a lots, it’s my favorite game of recent years. But I will say I think the negative review for the DLC is actually a good thing. It should discourage them from making more of it and make them spend more time on polish the base game. The DLC provide what people been asking, but not what Starfield is actually need.
There are a wealth of passionate video essays detailing the myriad failings of Starfield and the DLC… none of them mention the rover.
At this point it’s just undeniable that Bethesda has trapped themselves in an echo chamber where they refuse to hear even the most well-intentioned constructive criticism.
We need to accept that the studio that gave us what we all warmly consider to be the quintessential “Bethesda game” is long dead, and in its place is a minimum viable product machine which exists for the sole purpose of exploiting past goodwill to churn out paid mods.
Starfield was a gamble that turned out to be a flash in the pan. A lot of initial sales, but it doesn’t seem to have attracted the same following that Skyrim and fallout seemed to have years after launch
Hey juice, have you seen avowed released its price? 70 dolars man 🤡
Numbers say that there are 15 million players, if those numbers are true I’m pretty sure that’s all they care about sadly.
Now we’re all catching on. Beth upper management is cooked n clueless
The expansion is worth $2.99 at best.
Starfield’s problem is it’s ALL of the bad of bethesda with little to none of the good. The entire GAME is the radiant system. They’ve been escalating that system for no reason since skyrim. Skyrim did it fine as it allowed you to get a reason to explore areas with no real content. Fallout 4 made it worse by having the Minutemen’s whole questline rely on it. Then Bethesda is great at world design and environmental storytelling and instead of focusing on it they make a huge empty space map that repeats randomly over and over and the handcrafted stuff is boring. They did bad with that in fallout 4 with the settlement system which just made potentially cool locations empty for an unwanted base builder feature. They still have no real ” unique ” weapons like in Fallout new vegas or skyrim. The legendary system is dumb when you can get the exact weapon that is ” unique ” randomly. Sigh, es6 is worrying
too bad there’s no dlc to restore earth back to normal.
The problem with the game is primarily the exploration, I mean POIs that are identical in EVERY way, all assets in the exact same place and all enemies doing and saying the exact same things, cheapens the experience of the rest of the game and throws a wrench into the immersion. It is the thing that needs to be fixed.
“Should we have waited to put buggies in the game?” Umm.. they should have been in the base game TF this game doesn’t even have swimming or Day / Night NOC schedules like idk Oblivion… 💀 maybe you should have created a new interesting mechanic the way you did for the first Skyrim DLC that literally lets you be a Vampire & blot out the Sun Compare Dawnguard to Shattered Space & you will realize how disappointing it is both affect an already existing underwhelming / unfinished faction except Dawnguard has much larger impact on the overall game of Skyrim Shattered Space feels like it has nothing to do with & has no impact on the regular game world no interesting choices or decisions at the end & no high stakes whatsoever just a underwhelming mess & for $30 🤯
First bethesda dlc I haven’t bought
Shitted space is a bug ridden mess of a DLC, i got to many points in quests being unable to continue said quest because the objectives didn’t update and there isn’t a ton of integration between the DLC and the rest of the game. important characters and questlines that could have benefitted from acknowledging the DLCs events or new characters just aren’t there and fail to make you feel like anything you did in the DLC area is important to the rest of the game.
That’s not a response. That’s a cope.
Starfield is a crapy game that is one of the most repeditive game play ever by bethesda.
Hopefully they learned from all the starfield drama and are better off for it
Fallout 76 was an actually epic game. The multi-layers of being able to play this game have been overlooked. You can play solo, private worlds, co-op, multiplayer, world bosses, PvP, dynamic game events with a great story, plenty of side quests, new events being added, new cosmetics always being added.
And I think they perfected it when it came to monetization. Fallout first and the atom store is a cash cow, and I believe we will always continue to get Fallout 76 updates.
I wish that everyone would stop using Steam as the definitive player count. There are 10s of thousands that play and enjoy this game on Xbox and PC Gamepass.
All of these updates throughout the year are things that should’ve been there day one this game needs a genuine overhaul on several aspects to have a future.
are we seriously not going to even mention how this dlc was a carbon copy of nuka world?
three factions at odds are made to see eye to eye to overcome a common goal? do something for each faction to earn their trust as the randomly appointed chosen one? It was not a quantity issue it was a QUALITY ISSUE. They completely recycled the entire narrative from nuka world and it infuriates me that we are not talking about that more.
I love that Bethesda added vehicles, but you can clearly tell it was an afterthought as my vehicle cannot even make it through the foliage of the worlds
I haven’t even tried Shattered Space yet and I don’t really feel like it tbh.
That dlc was worth 10 bucks no more
Oh no more review bombing. Honestly i dont see how anyone thinks Steam reviews are trust worthy anymore. Its happened to 4 of the biggest games this year alone.
Only thing bugthesda doe sis break fun games & only update 76; nothing on fallout 3 remaster nothing on fixing fallout 4 etc
just let the game die already
