Funny thing is, all the things mentioned “its a western, a pirate game, a cyberpunk…” and so on, all worked *Perfectly* together in another medium; TV.
What you described was basically the series called Firefly, one of the best (and unfortunately also short) series ever made.
I don’t think its the “identity crisis” that is the problem, its the fact that Bethesda can’t code its way out of a wet paper bag, can’t tell a proper coheret story if their life depended on it, and have jammed their collective heads so far up their own asses that they’re completely unable to realize just how crap they’ve become.
