I think the most “fun” i had was with the game was the crimson pirates questline and the colonial marines style questline (though I will admit, the ending wasnt as satisfying as I would of wished). Its a shame because those questline were far more “fun” and interesting than the actual main quest.

Still no very fun tbh. No matter how hard I try I literally cannot enjoy exploring an empty planet.

The idea of the very first crumb of an idea for a game not being fun baffles me

I love Starfield. I don’t understand what all the hubbub is, could be the extremely high precedent set by previous Bethesda games but I think the backlash is unwarranted. It’s literally all the other Bethesda games, but improved.

It’s Bethesda, man. How many times do we need to go through this? HOW MANY FCKING TIMES?

Stop buying things based on nolstagia or hype, it never ends well. EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Rocksteady and soooooo many more. How many more examples do we need to stop behaving like children without an ounce of self respect and control?

    Starfield is not fun.

Starfield is such a grand disappointment. I wanted that game to be fun more than most. Even with mods it can’t be fixed. The bones of this game are broken

It’s 2024 and I’m still trying to find the “Fun”.

They should make a dlc around ships

    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

Interestingly enough. I played the game for 200 hrs and then I finally found the fun.
I think the reason for that is there are a lot of mechanics and interactions in the game and they don’t work the way you’d think at first. So many things are implemented counterintuitively and are pverlooked. Designers worked a lot but they forgot about UX

Starfield is a sandbox game with too much sand and not enough toys.

    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

The most important thing that a game needs to be IS fun! We play games because it’s what’s fun for us! If there’s a time where video games in general are no longer fun at all, we would definitely stop playing for good. When it comes to games with a story, if the story’s good and the actual gameplay is fun, that’s all you need!

It reminds me how Uncharted 3 felt, where they had the levels and set pieces made then designed the story around those locations, except the other way around. I’m pretty sure someone at ND said something around that.

I was replaying Mass Effect recently and you can play especially part two and three and see how much better that is than starfield. The writing is better acting is better. It’s just all around a better product.

    • @TheRealHmm

It was a mid game overall

    • @TheDirtysouthfan
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

I mean, how do you define that? There are a lot of things which sound fun in theory but aren’t in practice. Often you need to simplify complex systems or rework others to make it so. When you’re first building the game I doubt it feels fun anyway.

    • @jcruz2255
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

This way of thinking sound ridiculous. Shouldn’t “fun” be the first thing you try to accomplish and not try to find it later, lol but what I do I know, I’m not a game dev. I’m just trying to find the fun, too.

And sadly, the deep lore in Fallout and Elderscrolls just wasn’t there. I have never given-up on a Major Bethesda game after only a few hours—I did with Starfield. I’m deeply saddened by that. Why Bethesda? Why have you forsaken us?

    • @isthatyoursomnomnom
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

Ship Customization **IS** fun – right up until reality sets in and you understand that you didn’t build a spaceship to fly, but instead just added 2 to 4 extra loading screens to the game.

Ship customization is not nearly enough to have fun with a game

    • @davidthestroup
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

They jack the ship customization from kingdom hearts one, reskin it and everybody says it has redeeming qualities. Should have just made a ship building sim. 😅

Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion: $20 and 40 hours worth of content

Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty: $30 and 22 hours worth of content and came alongside with a free update that overhauled the base game

Zelda Breath of the Wild DLC: $20, includes new shrines and challenges, new items and costumes, the motorcycle and a harder mode

Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Torna the golden Country: $30, a new campaign that takes around 40 hours and new content and challenges for the base game

Shadow of the Erdtree: basically a new game sold as DLC for Elden Ring, also $30

All of which makes Shattered space look more embarrassing

I’m calling it now, The Elder Scrolls 6 is gonna be either Hot Garbage or INCREDIBLY MID AND C TIER. The former is most likely.
They refuse to use a different engine.
They don’t know how to direct their Voice Actors.
All the Voice Acting in their games is wooden and emotionless.
    The Writers are Hot Garbage.
And ESPECIALLY the Combat in their games is Dog Ass, and Modders end up coming into their games and make the game better.

    • @imrbx5032
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

The conclusion is Starfield is mid

    • @REDachiever13
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

Let’s face it, the fact that nothing seems to give, (I.e from bad reviews, previous bomb release of 76, continuous usage of the Creation engine with no improvements on game quality, poor direction in Shattered Space DLC, did I mention they released Skyrim again on the Tesla car? Jk and etc) Bethesda Game studios will never do anything better. They are done. They are in it for your money, the community that funds them backs them up, so they can care less. This constant war for a better game and an Elder 6 will never happen because they will never change. War never changes.

    • @httzc
    • 2024年 10月 16日 9:56pm

They are taking a long time to roll out basic updates or even the dlc.
You would think that means there is variety in those additions. But no,most of it is still recycled/reused content.
Even some oblivious QOL content for Starfield are yet to implement this long after release.
Instead gamers have to rely on modders to impement it.

Starfield seems like it barely has a story so I’m not really too surprised by the fact that people are having trouble having fun. All the best things that they’ve created were made a long time ago by different people who have belong since left the company.

The best thing that they’ve probably made in the last 10 years is the fallout TV show and I really don’t think they had much to do with that.
