I think with the pet system they should provide other uses other than PVP. For example, maybe bears could sit by rivers and catch salmon within a bear inventory. Or dogs can be set to a behavior that hunts wild animals. Stuff like that. Although I do hope that if they incorporate pets into pvp, it is balanced and feels fun for both sides. I trust facepunch. Even when there is a problem (the crawling system launch with the insta door close) they do usually fix it. Hopefully this will make the game have more replay value for sure!

idk how i feel about pets, i think it might make pvp alot messier and complicated. hopefully it will be optional in servers. the furnace/bbq nerf seems unnecessary, its just making it harder for solos in small bases. i fear facepunch are going to focus too much on changing unnecessary things that make it easier for zergs and ruining it for solos

disabling mlrs is an odd choice, why add a monument just to remove it. No safe zones at shops will just means you’ll always have a db grub holding the good shops, making it impossible for solos to buy anything.

Sad paper maps aren’t coming back… ones that you have to actually explore to fill in would be amazing. Then you could sell them in vending machines.

To everyone asking for the old recoil back… good riddance. Not only was it stupidly unrealistic, but it also required silly amounts of time dedicated on aim-servers to not suck in PvP. So glad that the days of BEAMING across the map are gone.

6k hours and I’ve seen so many rust changes but I feel like we are definitely now starting to head in the wrong direction… We were doing pretty good until they added the crawling when down feature+ the horrendous new sounds/recoil. After wayyy to many hours I think I’m hanging up my spawn rock

Navigating without compass is a really enjoyable feature of open world survival games. I like that it makes for tough choices and adds potential reward for dealing with the challenge, and potential random rewards for taking risks or even just getting lucky.

Procedural cave gen sounds sick. I hope they keep the Large Sewer Cave layout, and hopefully these new caves have a chance to be able to reach power down into them.

If they remove using barbecues as general storage im uninstalling. Tired of them changing things. This is facepunch being lazy and changing existing models so they don’t have to make new ones.

the furnace rework looks SO BAD!! Like honestly i feel likerust is turnign in to totaly different game by the years. A lot of good things have bin added to the game, the past 5 years. But the last 5 updates has bin awfull for the game. As an player that has bin playing this game sins desember 2013. This game has changed a lot for sure. But its just in the worng direction. We like to have more content and more things to do. But this No recoil, crafting table and the possebole furnace change as just bad for the game.

Hc mode made in that way is with any sense….. must be a return to origin, not a “i just take off everything i create for make the game more fun”.
We have to remember Rust WAS an HC game already…….
no safezone at bandit and outpost?! why not just eliminate bandit and outpost and scrap meccanism(buy/sell) ?!
no tech tree and make an obscure map instead of a “no map”.

Why in god’s name have they not added parachutes yet? Imagine flying minis into compounds, leaping out, and activating one. It would basically just be a little attachable hot air balloon (minus the low grade) with maybe a handful of uses in durability to keep it balanced.

im used to put 5k wood and the rest with ore so that it keep smelting and i get about 8k frags when its done.. but now u wont even get 3k it seems like..

Large furnace will cook one stack at a time? xD Is it faster than the current large furnaces stacked with 3k metal ore spaced into 250 stacks with 1250 wood? Why change something that isn’t broken?!? The furnace UI changes are absolute garbage.
Colossal nerf to large furnaces because now you can only cook a few thousand ore at a time instead of several, barbeques and campfires can no longer hold loot items so no more keeping all your food in the barbeque, or using campfires/furnaces to hide your loot in a pinch. Yuck.

I tried Rust for a couple of weeks a long time ago and found that it just wasn’t for me. I’m just not use to open world pvp filled with some aggressive players. I can’t imagine that someone looked at this game and thought “Hmm.. I wish this game was harder.” I guess once you get good at a game, you start looking for even bigger challenges. I’m just amazed how much support this game has gotten over the years. So many new additions and quality of life changed to make the game run smoother. It really makes me want to give it another go.

Do we know if beds share the same cap with bags or if they are separated? Will cut down on alot of bases having multiple spawn points/towers for raid defence
