First time doing large, helped a lot with knowing what to bring. Great straight forward video!

I’m in a 5 man but we’re all very inexperienced. We got countered by a solo, he killed 2 of us I got him. He came back as we were about to leave and he came back at the worst time. I was in the water the rhib was driving in circles because someone made a mistake and someone else’s controller turned off. We all died. I managed to come back later and get a couple good items most importantly the grenade launcher but all of our guns were taken. We got very unlucky.

got into rust last year but only played like 30 hours. just got back into it about 2 months ago and now i have almost 300 hours. i’ve done pretty much every monument except for large. these help a lot

Thanks for the help I teamed up with a random and he helped me do large oil rig for the first time, I never attempted small oil before large I just went straight to large oil and I did it three times, 2 were unsuccessful and one was good but had pretty bad loot

I don’t recommend shooting scientists when they haven’t landed yet. You’ll only waste ammo as the bullets deal only 1 to 2 damage to them.

You can also crouch jump onto the platform above the red card room. It’s the safest spot to take heavy scientists.

You can use the room under the stairs with the research bench and two windows, try and shoot the heavies legs to keep them up stairs and close the door when they inevitably push down. Then just check through the 2 windows to who you can open the door and and shoot in the head. Easy enough as a solo

Great video but bringing a fuse isn’t required. The room next to the fusebox is not locked and can be opened by just interacting with the door itself.

Jfarr, if you have a holosight and a laser sight on the same weapon, it’s more beneficial to keep the laser sight off, as this makes accuracy/aimcone worse.

Best spot hands down to take heavy scientist is above red card room. It takes a bit of parkour either from the box to the door to the vent then onto the railing (crouch jumping the railing allows you to hold on to the railing then you can jump over, its a hard jump to learn but once you have it down its easy). The reason this is the best spot is the scientist will all stack up on the level right below the pad and you can mow them all down in a line and simply hide behind the vents when you need to re-load / heal. As a solo I can clear heavies in roughly 20-30 seconds with this method taking almost no damage.

Amazing video! I’m not a big fan of Large Oil Rig though lol. I have ~1.3k hours in Rust and I’ve only been to Large Oil Rig twice. That’s just my humble opinion. Anyway, keep up the good work! 🙂
