Well… I bought your videos! 😂🤣
Keep up the fantastic work!
after 10 windmills still not enough power
build this, and never think about destroying the attack heli, because all the solar panels gonna be broke
F for family is a great clicl
if you add 2 bateries , the 94 number keeps the same? or you need double solar painel and double numbers?
Great video! Quick question though. If I had turrets set up to a system like this how would I shut them off during the day?
Shadow fraxs? 🧐
Too bad that it’s just not enough energy for me. Last time I had a base I’ve had 3 wind turbines and like 5 or 6 solar panels. Everything was barelly powered.
Now I’ve decided to build a base inside a cave system in the silo. The only thing I worry about is that there won’t be enough space for energy sources, so I’ll have to rely purely on solar panels which are less visible outside and some auxiliary generators inside in case I need to charge up the batteries if solar panels won’t be enough.
this still viable more than a yr after guide published?
But you are using 240W for 1 battery. Why not just connect 120W to charge the battery without this bypass. The large battery won’t die before the sun rises again…
How many wind turbines would it be?
Great tutorial but I’m afraid no Rust power system can fix how screwed up Eskom is 😂
Lmaoooo you actually building a wall and throwing the image of the battery through it I’m dead😂😂😂😂
So sexy
Um. I have it just like yours, and my lights are running during the day. Why is this? How do I change this so they only run at night?
In germany we say: er hat die Welt gedribbelt
« Im hungry let me weylin quickly « 😂😂😂
This is what i exactly needed thank you
im sorry but as a beginner it was very complicated to figure out how that solar panel connection worked. I had to go in slow mode lol
“Enough energy to let Elon Musk… Get a Semi..” bro laughed so hard. Definitely subbed for this lmfao
Where is the economy? You need to provide 250W to recieve 99W, for major part of the day you waste half of generated power. Its way better to calculate ratio of day/night as 5:1 on vanilla and charge batteries all day also drainig them and then use at night what was charged above, with nice double battery you can charge full 240W and loose only 20% on battery efficiency so you get 200 instead of 100 useful watts, discarging less than 150 for 24/7 should give enough reserve for night
Whaow Whaow I didn’t understand a single thing this is mor ecomplex than Redstone
theres a problem here.. lets say you only want to power 1 turret. then youre sending 100 power to the turret, but it only needs 10 wich means 90 of that power is going to waste.
Anyone know how you would add another battery to this circuit? I’m really struggling here 😅
I put together my own solar system, but I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about? I am waiting for solar panels to be able to charge it at night! Since nobody’s been able to make a continuous self running generator that I can use at night.
why do you speed up the video when connecting the combiners..
Did this get fixed?
How do you know how much to send from the branch to the battery?
I don’t get this
my brain died
Is this still working or has it been updated?
I almost lost my mind. But….. I just dont understand how it halts without consuming the battery.. :C I understand about the blocker is stopping the battery from being discharged so that the residual Splitter number 2 is the one is charging. However, at the end.. when splitter 2 is finally depleted because of the sun. The stop on the blocker is depleting.. then releasing the 100Rw to the OR switch.. sooooo did 100RW was piling at the end of wire right first blocker? I still dont think its infinite haha
this works but i don’t understand why you don’t block with the minimum power from the branch out which is 2 vs all your remaining 24ish power? it’ll charge the battery faster with the extra power, here it’s just being wasted
does this still work now?
love the F is for family cutscene lol
4:00 biggest issue with this setup is you need twice the production. If you have items using 100 worth, you would need 205+ production just to be able to use 100.
Pls cave electric. :3 Earned sub <3
this dont work anymore?
Well, it SUCKS you know how much energy do u waste by simply not using branch instead of a splitter in the begining? And that 24 energy for blocking signal…
What about using a lesser amount of solar panels, for example 8?
Dude eat something….
I have a tesla trap set up in my base that requires around 110 power. I have a medium and large battery to achieve 150 output but they keep draining. Any way I could fix that?
Thanks so much for this! Easiest video I’ve found so far to follow. I’ve got my shop set up now with flashing lights all day and all night 😀
this is very uneconomical. It is better to take the battery still from the batteries and charge it with accurate current. In this case, the battery switches on too soon and the excess energy from the solar panels is wasted.
Very detailed ! Can you do one with one or more generators as backup in case the battery gets low during the night ?
can you stop speeding everything up its kinda hard to follow
God your beautiful lol… thankyou for this guide
Ez
the best tutorial thank you
You talk way to fast
Why 94 on the branch? Just a random number you choose ??
Is this video still viable? I tried it and the AB unit took both solar and battery all the time.
Can you do the same thing with 2 batteries? I am the electrician of an 8 man clan and i need to set up a boatload of stuff.
thanks now im an electrician when they hired me all i said was i watched this video
What building servers could I use to practice?
Great video taught me alot
You can do the same thing with just a blocker and a branch, this is definitely the hard way to do this 😀
My dumbass just placed it and put a light under it
This setup still good?
Why does the blocker need 24 power? is it 2 power for every panel?
why can’t I just use more than one winturbine and get rid of the solar panels?
why does there have to be 24 coming from the power out of the branch?
g’day sir! 😊 may i ask: why 94? 🙂 (what happens if it’s less/more?
Tomorrow is purge day on Rusty spoon server, and I need electricity for 12 turrets. One battery won’t be enough as it has 100 as max capacity, where I will need 125 or so. I combined two wind turbines and three large batteries, now I need to sleep so that I can understand how to hook it all up after work. I shouldn’t be watching Mister Flak at 3 in the morning, alas I don’t know any better.
Only thing I’d recommend changing would be using a splitter instead of a branch at the turrets. You never want to use branches where enemies have the potential to get to them as they can be changed even without having TC auth.
IE: They murdered a turret outside to get in but there’s still more. They come across a branch and start playing with it until other turrets(and whatnots) turn off/on to their liking.
Why is both the lights in the or switch is green? Am I a dumbass or Rust did something
So that’s how you make it, thank god for your videos bro!!!
This circuit is not ideal!
What number would i put in the branch if i was making more power? Or would i have to stick with 94?
What a great video!
Great video. I do have a question. With the new update were you can use batteries while charging them would you still suggest doing this circuit?
On the branch, I cant set individual numbers when I set one to 94 there both 94.
Electric was probably the worst mechanic to the game as this is super easy to break all the turrets in your base at once.
If my root combiner 80 is how much should I branch out?
If I get it well, If I replace the OR switch by a XOR, I’ll get lights ON only at night ?
thus I need to branch off the solar line and the battery line to an OR switch to get electricity permanently for the défenses. Did I get it right ?
Help , i did all this done , Input A 89 – Input B 89 , but the power out 0 and i already follow all ur instruc. Welp
(BadGrammar)
Hi, been playing around with electricity. Can’t seem to change the values of output from branches!! I click on customise, it brings up the value but won’t let me change it! Am I doing something wrong?
My question is, what LCD? I’ve looked all over for the LCD screen and cannot find it
Hi, can you explain how you arrived at the 94 number? I am trying to adapt this to a smaller system to just run lights and a door controller at a shop from 1 or 2 solar panels and I’m having trouble finding the right blocker value
Ya I was fucking up by sending 50 power to the rw transmitter and I was like how tf am I running out of electricity
SPLITER == to => BRANCH !!! …. WHY using SPLITER if u can use BRANCH ( u need split only (to blocker ) litlebit, not need split all EL 3x 1/3)
intrusions unclear, my Solar panel was working in the night
How would I hook up a shit load of turrets using this? Do I just keep placing branches or use splitters?
Well earned sub…
Randomly stumbled across your channel and I’m very happy I did. Awesome work man keep it up!
So you have to delete the last cables? Or can you leave them ?
South African accent?
Thank you for this. Helped alot. I was so lost.
why are you sending 24 to the blocker? Why not just 2?
I have a problem, I have 7 turrets, and I have 200 electricity, but it seems like It’s not enough, one turrets is always off, why?
Thanks!
you put the blocker at the bottom at first, then you put the blocker at the top???
So if I dont get 240 power like you do, what do i branch off if I don’t have 94 power?
I think I rendered my setup useless after picking up the large battery by accident. I tried to reconnect the whole thing, but the battery will always discharge. And for some odd reason, my solar panels suddenly won’t output 20 power anymore like it did in the past. Any help?
Best video I’ve seen for rust electricity. The video effects and explanations are perfect. Good job !
End joke just sold me to subscribing
Should i put it facing north and south or just facing the sun
ok, but now how do u turn off the auto turrets
Absolutely awesome video from someone who only has the very basic Rust electrical knowledge. Would you mind explaining the new turret buttons they’ve put on to confuse us even more? What does the No Ammo, Low Ammo, and Has Target mean and does any of those options change when setting them up with your configuration? Thanks in advance.
will this work with only one solar pannel?
it would actually be cheaper to use turbines cus 30 hqm per turbine, while solar is 25 per panel….and you need 12. and even on the lowest base 5 walls up from sea level, it gives out 100 electricity. So i used two turbines and two solars and i got 240, then used a slightly different circuit, but the point is using the turbines would be cheaper. 3k wood, some gears, some sheet metal, and 110 hqm, vs 300 hqm. also you need far less combiners
I know there is alot to do but slow down bro
For Elon musk to get a semi
always like that I never get the same result from these rust electronic videos, im maxing like 120 not 240
Can you hide your wiring?
TY MAN LOVE U
honestly thank you this video made me understand electricity
12 solar panels = more power. Derrrrrrrrr….
Anyone know if this was fixed in a patch? I’ve seen other videos say their circuits don’t work anymore
But, how long have I had power over the battery at night? After an hour, the turrets and the Sam are out?
Is it always 94? how do you determine the number for that branch when using different amount of solar panels or using a turbine?
energy laws about this video: allow us to introduce ourselves
Have you tried putting a solar panel under the light to see if you can break physics?
Does this still work? (Nov.22)
Thanks for the guide.
If you are having troubles figuring out what amount to branch out, try change the number earlie or late daytime until the blocker get a red dot.
why not always use the battery and also have it connected to the solar panel ?
thanks just subbed
I have a little problem,my branch is not splitting,am i doing something wrong ? I Just plugged everything and pressed E on the left side of the branch and set to 94,But it Just doesnt split,it Just splitts it in two or split it somehow weird, never by 94,the circuit still works though,But When there is really low light all turrets go offline for about 3 minutes, and that s quite bad,3 minutes is enough for raiders to autorize,so i would appreciate help
can’t you just put the blocker’s other side output 2 electricity, so that it will only output 2 electricity, enough to Still block with the blocker, but still keeping the battery side not outputting anything
?
You speak way too fast for my simple mind, I feel you should do this again with wind turbines and do a dumb edition loool
How can you dumb this down with only like 4 solar panels pleaseeeeee! Cuz I play vanilla and dont have enough hqm to craft 12 solar panels man
hey if you dont have as many solar panels and you do, would you still set the first branch number to 94? i have 8 solar panels so am getting 147power coming in after all the route combiners. what will i set the first branch to? and at what power will that mean it will start on the battery?
thanks
seandainya ada channel indo yg bahas rust biar gw gk usah baca subtitles karena ni orang ngomongnya kecepetan
I’m not a hater I’m just slow, but you went way to fast on the wiring the solar panels I’m stuck
my brain is dead…
<3
Excuse me as I go back to college for Electrical engineering to fully understand the fucking complicity of Rust.
This was by far the most comprehensive guide I’ve seen, and I have been looking at quite a few. Thank you for the insight.
can we use wind turbines?
I am new to the whole electric side. I use to just ignore it because it wasn’t necessary, but with new changes it is getting important. So I am wondering, with a battery and a generator set up. Can you run a generator to a battery as a backup power source for solar power or for the windmill. Kind of a back up if someone destroyed your external power source to keep your turrets and such running encase of emergency.
this vid made me sub!
super helpful. and honestly gave me a pretty solid understanding of what these components do and how they get there. Thank you. cheers
big brain
I will stick to tuna can lamps and shotgun traps i think.
Can you pick up a turret if the power goes off if its next to your base with a tc ?
can I apply this to real life and kill loadshedding ?
imagine yearly wipes
I’ve follow this to the T but I cant get it to work.
This is an insanely well done video
what number do i have to put in the the eletrical branch if i only want to use 4 solar panels?
dont work, my or wsiwtch is on all the time a and b
0:18 you like f is for family boy?
idk if they nerfed it or whatever but i cant get 240 at all, using all 12 and went through the process
Bro can i request electric?
I want make sam site controlled by rf tramsmitter..when i press the transmitter..sam site will turn off 10 – 20 minute using timer..you know how?
Question: How do you define how much electricity you need to branch out in the electrical branch? Is that a number you just made out of nowhere?
If I generate 200 electricity from my panels and windmills, I can only use 100, because the splitter takes half for charging batteries and half for the OR switch. I set the branch to branch out 100 because I normally generate around 240 or so electricity, so I want my batteries to trigger as soon as the input electricity is less than 200 (200/2=100). Is that how it works? Seems to work fine for me, but I would like to tweak the branch out power as accurate as I can.
Sorry, bad video, bad advice. Never use a splitter for that, use 2 braches or your base will have the risk of not being able to power all your electronics and not switching to battery power.
Got this video in my recommended this morning
I don’t play Rust
But I watched the video and now I want to play Rust so that I can become electricity man
I want to make the infinite electricity machine and overload the power grid
Thanks Mister Flak for teaching me how to electricity, I will use this knowledge wisely (to become the king of electricity and have unlimited power)
UwU
Is this how to do a YouTube comment?
Awe Bre, good seeing a ZA boi making decent content
Am going back to Uni to get a degree in Electrical Engineering now.
I am using 6 solar panels, but my battery keeps draining if I set my branch to 94
i dont get what to set the branch to if i only have 6 solar panals
How can we use multiple batteries with shared solar panels or turbines?
intro seems familiar….maybe shadowfrax
POWER!!!
UNLIMITED… POWER!!!!!
Great video, i wish i could use this lit shit, but i have no one to play with, and im tired to play solo…maybe trying on a pve server, but playing on pve lacks the thrill….
Thanks for teaching me this, now all I need to do is start playing rust
Thanks alot man, really useful for new players
nice never used the branch I always used splitter lol im an idiot branch is so much easier thanks for the video
How many solar panels is the minimum for this?
CHANGE: Great circuit, but make sure to not use the splitter. Just go directly to the main black branch component he already has from the root combiner. Except, this time, POWER OUT from the main brach goes to another branch. On this second branch, the BRANCH OUT goes to the blocker and the POWER OUT goes to battery. The first branch’s BRANCH OUT goes to the ‘Or switch.’
Why is this better?
1) Using a splitter means total power coming in to power items will be half of what is being generated. Maybe a circuit is sufficient using 70% of the power and charging the battery with the other 30%. Using a splitter here would mean one would have to put out more solar or other energy generating items when they would be fine with what they have. For instance, lets say a circuit needs only 25 power. Two solar panels would work great here, with a peek of 40 power coming in. However, using the splitter means that this 40 will be halved, with 20 power to the circuit and 20 power to the battery. Using the splitter here means you will have to add another solar panel to get the circuit to 25. By using a branch, you would not have to.
2) It’s a hell of a lot easier to add more items to power when using a branch (branches pull what you need, not half). What happens when you add two more circuits of this? Problems happen. The splitters dilute too much energy. Items will have either too much or too little power.
*** 3) EFFICIENCY AND PRIORITY – The #1 priority here is powering the items. Having the battery always take a set amount of power means it has as much priority as the powered units, which is not ideal at all. Generated power should be used fully until the amount is not enough. Using a branch this way is also more efficient, as the BRANCH OUT on the main branch is sending out the exact power necessary for whatever the circuit is requiring. ANYTHING EXTRA goes to the battery via the POWER OUT on the second branch. This means the circuit is only charging the battery with surplus energy, and is not taking away from the other items. The efficiency is two-fold, as the generated power changes depending on wind or sunlight, the powered items will not be over powered and thus the battery not taking in that charge, and the battery won’t be used when enough power is available to run everything.
ALSO** 24 power is being used to activate the blocker, where it only needs 1 power. That’s 23 power used for nothing.
Branch’s priority for giving power is on the BRANCH OUT side, meaning power out will be the first to lose power if and when the power for the BRANCH OUT is lower or equal to the number specified. Knowing this, it means the second branch in the system will stop receiving power right when the required power is equal to or less than what is needed. Meaning the battery will turn on the second the power drops below the required amount. At all other times, it is charging with ALL excess power going to charge it. Very little power is wasted.
Hey Flak,
Is there a way to add a second large battery?
i got an odd glitch wile playing in a server when it restarted(not wipe) when i came back the splitters are splitting my 300 power in to 3 300 powers so it was creating more power?
Meeting you at the airport this evening was awesome! Love your content and you are a genuinely awesome guy! Thanks for the little Rust chat 🙂
how did u know Blocker Consume 24 electricity? may i have know all of them consume like spliter and blocker?
it will be great if i know how much consume all if i use memory cell and blocker ..
replace the spliter with electrical branch.
I just want to setup one turret for offline base defense. I have most of the components, but need a solar panel. Will one panel be enough to keep that going?for online i just have a generator ready to go. (I need to go on to a build server and practice this, numbers hurt my brain)
It works all day and night but in between the day switching to night and the turrets and lights just keep turning off and on for like 7-10 minutes is it a problem in my design that’s the only problem i found other than that its amazing!
Legend bro, you bring the Kiff in Kiffness
This is bugged and doesn’t work right now
We raided you on vanilla. You had a completely normal base. No electricity,no bunkers,no cool designs. And you played with a guy that roofcamps 24/7.
Thanks for the great video.
Build this a few months ago. Seen it somewhere else where they called it threshold circut. Quite handy. Scaled it down for my needs and also made it turn on my lights at dusk and turn them off after dawn.
hahahaha good video, top, nice thx
Great video. I have been watching Rust videos since early access. The game has came a long ways. Would have been nice if it came to console bit that will never happen, lol not enough buttons on a controller. I’m glad they have brought electricity to the game though. It has made the game even more better. Keep up the great videos. Thanks for the upload.
Thx it was actually very useful
Does this work in real life???
this is exactly what i was looking for after the patch, explained everything so simply and thoroughly. One questions though anyone know how easy it is for enemies to destroy wires going to turrets or is it even possible?
When did rust turn into gmod
WHY THIS SH1T IS HARDER THAN COLLEGE MATH????!
Fucking thank you for this. I’ve tried so many different setups for automated battery storage in rusts retarded ass electricity inplementation
*FBI wants to know your location*
Thank you !
I did this on my base and i duplicated it for a total of 3 times. So I have 3 large batteries a ton of solar panels and a windmill all charging 3 batteries and powering my turrets.
Whatever that show is at 0:20 I need to watch it
I knew u were south african. Woop woop
A fun little base building PVP game has now turned into a festpool with a bunch of engineers who expect me to build a twig house then transform it into a Tesla powerwall demo home every week. No thanks.
Videos make me laugh everytime xD
XD XD “about as stable as the South African Gov.” Bwaahahahahhaahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa
u got my sub, you dirty electrician 😀
Tesla; excuse me wtf?
Glad they added wiremod to rust
This is a great video. However it appears that configuring the branch just doesn’t work. This game…I swear.
Wow he built a Solar System which is 100% running xD
Ahhhhh I still dont get it
That’s genius
Awesome vid 🙂
By the time I find all the components and wire this up, the server will be reset 🙁
Please make a video showing how to power turrets and sam sites with unlimited power with wind turbines as the power source please!!!
eskom better be taking notes ~boerboy
Why’d you use splitter like that? Better to use two branches.
I hate to be that guy, I play rust a lot and about a year ago spooky gaming did this same tutorial in 2018.
If you want though it might be valuable to talk about how to chain together batteries with this setup because it’s quite complicated since you cannot both push out and pull in power at the same time it makes chaining together batteries very difficult. I can show you how if you want but it’s fun to figure out and show. Chaining batteries is very useful. remember you cant have 2 root combiners in a circuit.
you are warting 24 electricity for the blocker
Yeah. That’s easy af.. Now set up three or more batteries in parallel where only one discharges at a time while the first battery is receiving more charge power than the rest to ensure it is always charged, and the back two (minimal) split the power charging them. Now a big thing is you can’t let your battery 1 discharge into 2 or 3. Ultimately; you’re looking at 12 hours of power with three batteries, only using a few solar panels or a windmill. That’s literally overkill, but if you’re getting raided and have the resources to make it; it makes it harder to offline raid with appropriate trap doors with turrets/ auto defense system
what’s ur infamous discord?
It was gonna happen sooner or later
honestly solar panels just aren’t worth the effort, though the idea is cool
yea sure you could make 12 of them and wire them all up for like 500 HQM but you could also spend 30 HQM, 3 gears, and 10 sheet metal (which is mostly useless otherwise) and make a Wind Turbine (or just find one from a Milcrate, they’re not that rare) and get almost as much power, around the clock with no batteries necessary
this is coming from the person who always had to set up the electricity because nobody likes fueling lights for a few months worth of wipes
it’s just the most practical solution
40 hours on rust and still amazed what more you can do
First video that I watched from you, already subbed. Love the ending
Why don’t I have a PC. Survival. Guns and CIRCUITS. thats my dream game!
I will just watch your videos instead I guess lol
1:07 better use two Electrical Branch
for one Splitter is cheaper and better in case when ur system need max power that is 98V (100 minus one for bloker and 1 for OR Switch
) becouse u will have gap when power from Solar Panels will be less then 103V then ur output will be lest then 98V which is necessary for the system to work properly. In 5:51 your output is lest then 98V but power dont switch to battery. If u power up only light one of them will be dark but if u have powered door, trap, auto turet etc. important things and one of them will not work becouse is not enough voltage thats is problem.
I made a similar thing without the splitter, but this is easier to explain 😛
imagine if someone in a Sever runs a Electric Company wired straight to the bases, but you need to pay the bill using scraps of course
Stonks
if i only have lets say 2 solar pannels do i have to set the branch out to 94 still?
Hey china, searching for SA youtubers and found you first. If you feel like some DayZ check me out, and maybe you wanna try something diff, come jol with some locals.
didn’t a youtuber already do this?
We’ve been waiting for you.
Glad you’re making the videos
you wasted about 22v of power… just branchout 2v to the block passthrough of the blocker and it should be enough. Send the rest to the battery to charge it faster, or to another branch so you have an extra output of power when you need it and just branchout some power to the battery… basically you just need 2v to go to the block passthrough is what im saying, not 24. I mean eitherway will work, there’s just some wasted power that’s all
You’re a fucking legend man. I way over complicated this setup somehow.
Thank you so much for making this video! Been wanting someone to put out more electric tutorial vids. Wish you could draw out a wiring diagram or just pause on everything layed out on screen. Would be awesome to take a pic of it to help try out later.
This does not address the problem that the sun going down WILL drop power below 100 to your main circuit before it switches over, potentially shutting down some turrets, and leaving you vulnerable.
This is a good start, but it is not perfect. People: When you run into this problem (and you will) remember that there are ways around this, you just have to start tinkering.
ididn’t understand the solar panel wiring can u make a video to it?
could at least credit me.
dunno what for, but like. I’m helping.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
gday m8. Love your vids but somethin isn not quite working with your design. I swear i have completed everything correctly but my lights are constantly flashing and idk what i have done wrong. cheers if you could help.
I lost you when you said turrets
Cant be bothered with electricity
Question regarding the competition; do patrons and supporters get a head start for the next video to find the code, since they get the video ahead of time?
This is exactly why I don’t play rust anymore, this is wayyyy to much in terms of rust world. While you spend all day farming these components, building this, some dudes farmed just sulfur in a 2×2. They offline raid you. But this is amazing none the less,
It amazes me that some people cant comprehend this with ease
Sub 2 Mister Flak <3
I will start playing rust again as soon as they bring in wiremod and expression 2!
That Outro deserved a Sub 🙂 Keep it up.
I prefer using a timer to flip flop between batteries to give them relief time, it requires 2 or more windmills but 100% of the electricity goes into filling batteries. I think your setup is a great solution for clans scrambling to get their turrets online and don’t mind throwing some HQM at a load of solar sells. Great simple circuit and stellar explanation.
We need to talk to facepunch so they make real invertersso in daytime the stuff will not drain the battery but ho straight from panel
I really don’t remember when I subed might’ve been a episode that was good
“As stable as the SA government”… Why as a South African was that sooo funny
dead game
I’m here because of your Reddit post because u quit ur job or whatever u uploads aren’t as frequent I hope your working none of my business and no offense but you should at least work minimum wage part Time greatly increasing your income
Hell yeah. I love it when the sun falls out of the sky!
Great video flak!
PROFESSOR OF RUST
I’m using Rust electricity very often and I’ve got a small side note:
For the branches where you split your current into lamps, turrets and sam: Always use the first branch for the most important circuit like turrets, then sam, then ceiling light. Otherwise you might run into problems when someone destroys your solar panels and drains your battery.
This is not often the case due to the 4 hours of charge, but you never know and it means no extra work.
I miss you
lol
ok time to go rewire everything…. again! B^) thank you so much for explaining this stuff for us dumb dumbs i was pulling my hear out trying to figure out how/why my batteries were draining so fast and taking forever to charge back up. and i never really knew what the black boxes were for or how to use them. as long as i don’t get raided in the next day or two ill be rewiring to match this. just gunna have to wrap my brain around it to match what i have.
How do you set the power amount on a branch
It’s not technically unlimited… it’s limited to what the battery can output, so 100.
how are windmills to exspesive? 30 hqm, some wood and 10 sheet metal compared to 25 hqm per solar power that puts out less power than a windmill. so for 60hqm you can the same power that 12 solar panels would produce and cost 300 hqm to craft.
The ending was awesome!
So awesome to hear a South African voice for a change. Great videos Mr Flak.
Might I ask how long it took you to edit this video? I’m asking because in my mind this would take me days so maybe you have some much more efficient method.
does not work, as soon as the battery is drained it does not work
soo when are pistons getting added?
yeah i think im just gonna keep recycling turrets
Thank you so muchhhhh!!! I am the only one in the clan who knows electricity and my clan was yelling at me to put auto turrets that can work 24/7 you helped so much flak !!!! [Smily face]
Nice
fuck that ill live in the dark
Very very nice video Mister Flak, i like it.
Check out the big brain on flak 🤔😉
This is not optimized, and better videos have been done since a while. (since… end of 2018 lol).
Splitting the main source like that is a waste, battery is not charging fast enough and your available power is limited.
For better configuration, look for circuits with 2 or more elec branch and no splitter.
==> The real goal is to send to your circuit only what it needs, sending maximum power to your battery during day and let your battery do the rest at night (since battery output can’t be limited…. it will max out no matter what). For that you need something a little more complex.
This rust electricity shiz is so confusing
This way you are losing the electricity that is not used with the large battery. Lose the splitter and use 2 branches instead (that makes 3 in total). That way you can use the electricity that is not used, to add to an extra large battery setup. More power is needed after the last update, so larger bases will need more than 1 large battery, which makes effiency more then welcome.
Really like this video 🙂 , are you electrician in real life? Because you know you’re shit bruh 😂
Another working channel that puts working content
Big brainn
Thank you for breaking down the new electricity and actually including using turrets and lights in your buildout. Many of the online videos just assume that everyone understands the basics of rust electricity but I think most people didn’t need it until this latest update. Subscribed!
I open a shop while watching this video and holy shit you don’t know how effective is this. I have lighting my entire shop 24/7 with 10 lights on the ceiling, 6 turrets running in my shop
Would it be possible to use a electrical Branch instead of the splitter? so you can better optimize the power output to the battery I know batteries can only take in 100 power and your demonstration only falls short a few power so it’s not that big of a deal was just wondering thanks and keep up the good work
well done
yeah …. copying this circuit over and over again won’t work when i have to power 80+ lights, 90-120 turrets and 10-15 sam sites. i would have to plaster 2 grids with only solar panels. this is very far away from the “unlimited” energy i was promised in the title.
OMG I’m so surprised I actually understood all of this
I will use this, thanks ! <3
Super old and late
i got code xd
nice
i didnot understand
how to get the codes?
in the real world it goes solar panel, charge converter, battery, converter . and the battery can both charge and discharge at the same time rust is not the real world
Now, lets see if eskom was taking notes?🤔
Great video. I happen to think electricity is one of the worst things added to Rust, but I appreciate the tutorial. Electricity should be on its own branch, like Hapis – not an integral part of the game. We’ve gone from a survival grindy pvp game to a minecraft redstone feed the beast mod style game. Make Rust Great Again
YOU’RE THE “FLAKING” BEST !!
This is still a bit complex especially for me who has no idea about electricity.
Ona nodded server with the ability to
/remove objects. You can place a small generator. The use remove to pick up said genny. Then place it back down again. You’ll notice it’s no longer the same as it’s not a silver box, and take no fuel no solar energy job nothing and can power 3 turrets as well as a few lights. Your welcome 😉 lol
I’m sure there’s a way ona non modded server as well but I only play on game keeper servers atm… as ima noob with 200 hrs.
Can you please re-wire my house? Lol. Nice video
Excellent video
Congrats
Every component doesn’t use electricity, the AND and XOR switch do not consume.
Best tutorial i saw
Dont use the ore switch because of the blocker only output a or b receives power. Therefore you need to use the xorswitch because that uses 0 power instead of 1 power for the or switch
Allll night long, alll night
Amazing. Sub’d.
Clans are gonna love this
Mr Flak i hooked this up the same way that you show but with a wind turbine and the battery does not stay charged any idea why?
untill you get raided
loved the vid. can u make a strategical overview of electronics? like: for 4 turrets u need that much solar panels… what happens if raider find my battery? strategical placement in the base. u can destroy it with one incendiary or 2 satchels… Maybe also electronic options for opening doors when coming home with boats or copters (rf transmitter)… or turrets behind doors like those anti-raid turrets of evil wurst… whats the range of the hbhf sensor and is it reliable?…. this is the kind of stuff i don’t have time figuring out myself
Having trouble finding a Branch component, aparently you can find them from the road but im having trouble
Hey is auto turrets needs electricity to start up?
i’m here to learn the electricity, not the paypal. Thanks you dude <3
Great video! You’re very good at explaining things.
Best.Video.Ever.Kudos mr.flak!
Little did he know that soon the mobile scene will have rust but a scuffed version.
🎶All day, and all of the night🎶
yo mister flak, love the vid, but i see one issue, your wasting electricity putting 24 power to the blockers blocker it only need 2 power to block, that’s 22 power useful somewhere else. thank you for the vids, always a pleasure to watch. <3
directions unclear my komodo dragon’s left toe is stuck in the capacitor of a toaster
You make us roleplayers proud <3
no one noticed the welyn reference?
10 on 10 explanation
thanks man! 😀
the electrician
Why use the branches? Just use the pass through on the auto and Sam. They will use what they need and allow the rest through it.
Shadowfrax … @@@@
The ending was awesome! Actually the whole vid is 😉
fuck that’s good hey?
this electric circuit is stronger than fucking Jacob Zuma😂
Mister Flak, your vids man are rocking dude,
Who else has already electricity in their base before watching this video?
Also has turrets and lights on?
Great video. I have one question though. Wouldn’t it be better to replace that splitter with a branch? I ask this because in rust the sun is up longer than it’s down, meaning you’d make use of your panels longer than your battery. Therefor you’d require less power to run to your battery and charge it, which a branch allows you to do just that?
Flak is Back
Hold up you need electricity for auto turrets now?
Direct to the list of next-to-try-on-new-wipe. Excelent as usual Flak
Now you have to be an electrical engineer to play rust? lmao
15 people that disliked this video don’t have electricity
Why not just connect the input to the battery and the output of the battery to the turret, the battery charges faster than the turret can drain it then when the sun goes down you use the charge you spent the day building up to power the turret
Dude you just made my day flak. I’ve finally bit the bullet to delve into electrical with the turret update. Now to figure out how to make auto open/close door circuit
Fucking awesome!!!!! Gonna be looking for you on twitch!
Best in the business dude, keep up the great work.
Do a electric trap base no one describes it better then u
how to make game looks like rocket science
the electrical branch should be set to the minimum which is 1 or 2 and have that sent to the blocker. max output to battery. you could also use the electrical branch instead of the splitter.
I vote next video you teach us how to cable theft in rust….or cause a stage 4 power outage in your local area. Just a thought
Flack, I have been messing with electricity for ages and that made it so easy. Thanks dude. Keep up the great videos.
I have not watched the full video yet so you might answer in the vid but when you did the sun rise in reverse will the battery still be putting out 100 or would it deplete
And they say games doesn’t teach you shit🙄
Thanks Flak. Once again you have helped me understand and giving me a solution to a problem. Thanks for being my Flagship 🙏 Lots of love too you and the family ❤
This makes explaining how electricity works SO much easier to understand. For expanding this design with more batteries, you could just use Root Combiners between each battery storage, and then feed that into your circuitry for your entire base. The large batteries have max charge of 15 minutes each, so combining them together with Root Combiners would probably work just fine, but to charge them you need to have more Root Combiners going into the input as well as the output.
That Frank Murphy clip got me, not even gonna lie!
This is a good design if you are trying to model the real-life solar-house circuit that is based off of inverters. However, with this design, a lot of power (current*voltage in real life) is wasted. Instead, I would recommend a battery backup that branches (instead of splitting) the exact amount you need away from the battery and towards your devices. Then, the excess power left over from the branch is utilized to ‘charge’ the battery for night cycles. In the event that your solar panels are broken (from a raid most likely), you would have 4 hours of battery backup to which the battery would output 100 units of Rust power towards your devices. I also would suggest never branching off more than 100 units of Rust power towards your devices. When the circuit is running off of battery backup, only 100 units of Rust power is sent towards the external circuit. Nevertheless, great adaptation from the existing design on solar-house circuits using inverters.
NOOOOO REPLACE THE SPLITTER WITH ANOTHER BRANCH, I was using this circuit and the second branch is MUCH better. Because you control how much goes to your battery! it just offers much more customization – plus a branch essentially is a dual splitter where you get to control how much goes through one output. Also it’s cheaper, I believe.
ALSO can someone please tell me why the fuck i can’t set two batterys with a root combiner connecting the two blockers? like, the circuit is fine, but the output on the blockers WILL NOT connect to the root combiner i have in between the blocker and the OR switch. It’s pissing me off lol it just keeps reading as having no connection whenever i try to merge them. it’s ruining my shit. send help.
Holy SHIT my aching brain! Thank you for taking the time to unravel this conundrum. Short of being an electrical engineer I don’t know how anyone is supposed to make this shit work. Anyway nice job. Could you do another video covering the possible uses of the remaking electrical components? Love the content! POWER ON brother! lol
This elon musk jocke. Legendary
**”enough electricity to make Elon Musk… get a semi”** – I absolutely fucking died when I heard that ahahaha XD
i cant thank you enough for this haha the intro was spot on! was doing my head in with my turrets turning off all the time
Mister Flak you are my Elon Rust. Love all your videos and this will definitely help me save my base, thank you sir.😉👍
I had a design similar to this (designed more for a windmill, however it output 100 power, and the overflow went into the battery, which swapped when incoming power when the mill made less than 100).
My challenge for you, is to make a system that (in your case) recycles the extra 93 power to make your battery drain slower
Great video bud….thanks for taking the time to make so that this noob can remove the dunce cap when it comes to electricity!
Meeester Flak ees back
You’ve ever thought doing an all on one video explaining electricity in Rust, and what the components do and so on? This explanation was amazing, and the graphics definitely helped. And the overall video quality was fantastic! Thanks!
Too complicated for me because I’m dumb and can’t remember but still fun to watch
Fucking awesome
Why put so much power into the signal-input of the blocker, when it only needs 2?? Branch 2 out! Never splitters unless you actually need a 50% equal split
Also I advise you power your most essential items first from the branch, because it prioritises the branch rather than the other output
Only problem is in South Africa we dont know what electricity is….
Very clearly explained Mr Flak! Great vid once again! 👌
Been doing this setup for quite some time now except I use windmills with batteries as backup, and just two solar panels and a similar circuit to control the lights. Using a branch with a blocker for the light circuit, you can pick the exact time of day the lights turn on/off vs always on or relying on the sun.
Your circuit, however, is simple and to the point. Very nice.
I still play rust kinda OLD SCHOOL, I do not use elec, why have all that crap on your walls! LOL, its my GET AWAY from the real f-d up real world problems anyway!! I LOVE Your Videos, though its sure AS HELL AINT SAFE to drink coffee while watch. Its bad for the key board! LMAO!! LOVE YA MAN!! GREAT WORK!!
Putain de tourelles ! Bonne vidéo
Flak is back!!
So good that it made my Rust crash. I didn’t add that second branch
That was a fantastic way to end it!! Seriously. Legendary tutorial to help bring us out of the dark ages!!
“Unlimited”
cheers chap very helpful
Flak Is Back!
Flak got this info from his electricity stealing days
Mister Flak, your video are way beyond helpful to this Rust noob. I thank you sir.
Dude, x10000 like to your effort. One of the most understandable videos on youtube i’ve ever seen
Can I just hire you to come to my bases in future? :p
Big up to the Predator crew!
Thanks flak. I love the concept. I’m not bad with electricity but not an expert either. So seeing someone else operate and seeing new ideas helps a lot. More electricity videos would be appreciated. Great stuff man!!
I feel like I have a Rust electrical engineering degree after this 😆
omg flak jys n voken legend you just made this kak so much easier to understand best electrical tutorial by far HEY LEKE DJAY!!!! LEKE DJAY!!!
And why 94 to battery no 100? @Mister Flak
Great video, how ever i would change one thing in the system.
The priorities of the branches after the OR Switch.
Ex. Torrents are Priority 1, SAM is Priority 2 and Lights, Priority 3.
So the FIRST branch would go to the Auto torrents, 2nd to SAM and only the 3rd to the lights.
Why? Let’s say that for some reason the system is compromise and start sending less power.. the first thing to go out on your system is the SAM, 2nd Torrents and last the lights. As Torrents and SAM are more important, wire the lights last (so the other 2 branches uses the power first in case it is sending less than the system design) would make it power out first and the Torrents the last to go out.
I know on your last electricity video i said “you make it look so simple i might actually use it” well i still havent and its still not simple enough :p
Here’s a thing for you.
You got 180 per coming in from dollar, even when it’s dark (not full night but dark)
So when it gets dark currently you have the battery come on (100 power, 15 minutes) earlier than necessary because the solar (180) is being split so it seems like its only 90, is there a way to get this extra few minutes out of the solar before the battery takes over?
Maybe setting blocker value to 1 so that the solar must get as low as 1 before the battery comes on?
Subscribed just because of that amazing ending 😀 Keep up the good work Mister Flak!
Thank you for teaching us Senpai
Awe, lekker vid
Why is switch or not to put the switch “And” Then at night it will give more energy to the circuit.
I like all ur videos mr flak
So…your ad revenue must be 0 as there is no stability in our government 🤔😂😂😂 very nice. Also turrets requiring power makes taking a turret with you to raid a pain in the rear 😐. I don’t like that change from facepunch.
Guys (and flak-buddy, correct me if i’m wrong), *I recommend you include a ‘Switch’ in your circuit* between the circuit and your auto-turret, so that you can refill the turret!
I used a turret in this current wipe and was annoyed to find, you can’t just click ‘E’ on it anymore to access the turret’s menu! To access the turret (to change settings, authorize/de-auth. a friend or add/remove ammo), I had to disconnect the power-line… Annoying! So if you have a switch, you’ll be able to turn it off, and then access it’s menu!
Good luck you *Rusty Freaks!* ™
Wouldn’t it be more efficient to use two branches instead of a splitter. Using a branch and making it the number of base usage(lights etc.) when it’s not getting that it activates battery. So it’s more time for batter to be charged
You made a mistake… The solarpanels are the most optimal towards the north.
Hey, instead of the splitter which is hard to find, why not use 2 electrical branch ?
SAM turret?!?!
I don’t play Rust nor do I care how to get unlimited electicity, but I STILL LOVE YOUR VIDEOS lol.
Nonono… I dont speak good English but I gotta tell you something.
First, this is only the ideal case. If the sun is not on the perfect spot, your panels will not get enough to charge and block. For instance, you get 150. Lets not think of little ones that is used inside devices. Your branch will only get 75 and will fully flow to battery input. Also the blocker doesnt block so the battery will drain and in conclusion your system will be going on and off cuz in rust battery does not charge and be used at the same time.
Secondly, if the sun is fully up, you drain too much power in blocking the blocker which is really really dumb thing to do. 24? Thats even more than two turrets. I have few ways to run 24/7 if you want the circuits leave a comment.
The new switch design has some toggles on it. I wonder if this could be used for a similar circuit.

mr flak is definitely in the wrong line on work xD
again releasing vids when im in school, damnit
What hell happened to your hand at 5:12 minutes
This is a tutorial I have been waiting for since the electricity update. You the fuckin man Flak.
What a fucking genius
I’ll be attempting to do this next wipe.
Great explanation!
Quality as always my man. Thanks for sharing your genius knowledge for the rest of us lemmings!
Not all heroes wear capes :’)
Thanks for the video definitely got a like on this one
Clutch. Fixing to watch this.
Ah yes its 3:05 am and flak uploads a video, finally something to watch after the last 50 cat videos
dat ending was slick asf
Thanks for clearing this up, I was messing around with electricity lately to power a sam and 2 turrets for 24/7. This video really helps.
However, I see you placed 12 solar panels towards the West side.
Isn’t it more efficient to place 6 to the East, and 6 to the West? If not, why? Because the battery will only charge in the afternoon right?
Thanks in advance.
Thx now i dont need to pay the electricity bill anymore
the electricity system in rust is so godawful
10/10 for Sub-Plugs 😀
I’ve been trying to figure this out my whole rust Carrier even before turrets needed power and now you got it for me
I feel useless.
EDIT: love you flak =)
Fuck this noise
But how do you fix the power out during dusk and dawn
What the fuck. I need to re-watch
<3 <3 <3
Hi I’m new to your channel and I’m already in love with your videos btw 668th viewer
