Being a parent is wonderful. But as a father who raised his child while working 12+ hours a day and wished I had more time to spend with my family as kids grow way too fast. Life also changes and everything costs a lot of money and soo much more as they grow. More than all of that is your own comfort and assurance that beyond raising your kids you can not only live a comfortable life but also have something to fall back on if someone thing happens to you.

Bro i would love to do a duo or trio with you. I know im a random but i feel like im one of very few people that have close to 15k hours in pure PVE. I probably have 30 minutes in PVP lol. I hate PVP. I have played on almost every PVE server out there. I even created my own for a bit but those plugins are a pain to deal with when they break every force wipe so no thank you. Well if you ever decide to play with your followers, im down to play some PVE with you. Im 36 years of age so im a mature non-toxic gamer. 12 crates?!? I don’t think I have ever used more than 4 + 2-3 small ones. Absolutely no point in holding onto virtually anything. Recycle or sell that shit! It’s not like you need to make up for lost guns and what-not.

Anyone else find VQs to be useless? I spent so much time finding a great survey. Placed a VQ, upgrade to 2 or 3, put in 16 diesel and got <5k sulfur. Never used it again. This is in no way efficient!

Hex and Rusty Spoon I found months ago as the best PvE servers, based on pop and settings. Rusty Spoon is a bit more annoying at farming, but can be more rewarding in many other ways. Hex is more of a stable, vanilla, linear progression.

Hex has magic sprinklers, whereas Rusty Spoon has RP purchased water pumps that don’t require water but you still have to use pipes/pumps to get the water to the sprinkler. This is heavier on the structure limits , harder on the server, and more annoying for the player.

Rusty Spoon has heavily buffed recycling speed: personal (from RP shop), at monuments, and at outposts. This saves SOOO much time compared to Hex. And, the skill tree still allows you to further enhance the speed.

Rusty Spoon lets you upgrade furnaces, whereas Hex has a flat rate of 100:200/tick or 100:500/tick in a large. This makes Hex better in the early game, but Rusty Spoon’s upgraded large furnaces are the most powerful things I have seen in any game, lol.

Hex has a better skinbox system (or did, before a recent update?).

Rusty Spoon usually has a slot or two open when Hex has a 15+ queue. Both are locked down for the first 12 hours – need to join early, wait until 2am ET, or wait in queue.

I often login to Rusty Spoon and have over $40,000 RP randomly – enough to do almost everything non-combat related. After numerous wipes, I still have no clue where this comes from in the first 1-3 days of a wipe.

I have never done a helo, raid, or raidme, as they just feel cheesy. I killed 1 or 2 bosses that got in my way, but they are in no way worth seeking out. No one actually “plays” on PvE servers – they simply exploit the terrible Rust combat. That isn’t fun to me. And, since there is no non-cheese way to do the PvE mods (maybe with a team of 4-8?), I simply don’t engage with that system. This extends to vanilla Rust, too – such a terribly made game that we all play!

TIP: Bind /st to K key, /kit to Insert key, /home home|1 to Home key and /tpc to End key. If you want, /outpost and /bandit can go on PgUp/PgDn.

Really wish Rust would fix the player counts to account for queued players. I am tired of joining a 98/100 server and being 15th in queue.

I definitely enjoy this content more. Don’t get me wrong, I like all your videos, but I definitely like the long format and the PVE more. Keep up the great work, and definitely don’t give up on us, Brit. we all love you, man.❤

I love PVE Rust to play. I am 61 female and have tried PVP but I really prefer the survival mode. I have played HEX for a few wipes here and there but don’t really enjoy the zombies and big bosses. I discovered Rust EZ which is more about the build and scavange. I love your videos and always watch them. You are very right though it is hard to play as you would like when you have other responsibilities which area a priority.

Little buddy I can totally understand some of the things you said at the start of the video … I tried this Chinese game it was a mix of pvp rust and 7days to die but for me I called it the den of thieves I’d play 8-10 hours go to bed wake to play more and my entire work gathering was stolen from my home I quit after the 3rd raid it was disgusting.. and ya as we get older we find responsibility’s ect catch up to us greatly and eat into our time .. I went to college from 7-4 then went to work in a car parts yard for 2-3 hours more then come home play with my kids make dinner feed them and then study then sleep .. I did not think my life would get harder but it did I ended up raising 3 pre teens and teens by myself while running my repair shop it was crazy but I did it now I’m medically retired and got lots of time so look forward to your older years trust me I climb the walls to find things to do constantly games seem to be the easiest to do

As a father I definitely know what you’re saying about having enough time to play a full wipe. Maybe you could jump in some servers like Tommygun’s Frag or other ones where you can do shorter PVP matches. That way you can play as many rounds as you have time for and then jump off. Havent watched all of it, just wanna say I’m pretty disillusioned with rust as a game at this point. The game is unrecognisable to the game I started playing and I wish we could go back like 5-6 years. It’s not that I don’t like your content anymore, I just don’t like the game anymore.
Maybe its time for a change? I know a lot of rust youtubers are tired of playing rust all the time, so maybe you could play something else with other rust youtubers. It surely wont do as well as rust content straight away, but could leave you less vulnerable to the ups and downs of rusts popularity. I’d love to watch you and spoon or phetus play something other than rust.

Either way, keep going, we all want to see you succeed and its alright to struggle and feel demoralised because of it. I appreciate the honesty, its humanising.

As a fan of your videos, I’ve noticed that my interest has decreased with the last few. In this one, and I’m only at 27 minutes in, it feels like a fast-paced, “ADHD version” of a Wiljum video, but This is to supposed to be PVE. My advice would be to make PVE feel more like PVE and try not to let your personal life (although important) influence your content in a way that it becomes an excuse. Keep up the good work m8!

Are you ever going to release a pve server? That’s all I play at this point

i only play PvE, i really enjoy it. If you only can play ocassionally instead of 8hr sessions on first days of wipe, it’s the only way to play the game imo.

I can really recommend the Relic servers, they have generated maps (this seems pre-made) which makes every wipe new. It’s a little more vanilla then this server, but it also has a ton of plugins that generate events, bosses, etc. It also has a cross-wipe XP system which adds a nice layer of meta-progression

Sometimes free raids spawn at ./raid1 or /raid2 the raid islands, there are also heli towers /tower1 and /tower2 you can recycle there for 60%

I play a lot of competitive games such as cs and dota, and when you get to some high ranking shii, it gets ugly, tiring, and YES, competitive. PvE in rust is gold for rebuilding your mental health in gaming LOL

I don’t know where this fits in with your personal enjoyment of Rust, but, personally, I’d love watching you just play Rust irrespective of theme. The guy I watch the most now is Shots because I just enjoy feeling like I’m playing the game. I enjoy playing Rust, but so many other things capture my time that I mostly relegate the Rust experience to watching it on YouTube. You’re a funny guy and the things your brain thinks to say are unique as compared to other Rust YouTubers. So, though I know the view count is generally a lot lower for, say, daily regular playthrough videos, if it’s something you think you’d enjoy, I would certainly be a regular viewer! And it doesn’t matter if you had a s#!t wipe overall or if you got dogged on for 3 episodes in a row…I just enjoy watching the real Rust experience unfold. I’ve yet to hit play on this video, but I’m going to end up watching the whole thing. Assuming it’s a distilled version of your 100 hours, maybe this video split into 3-4 videos (or more, depending on how you edited it) and posted every day or every other day, would drive overall views/ad rev/etc. higher than one video.

Anyway, as a former YouTuber (in a highly niche space), I totally feel you, man. I spent 10 years grinding and ending up absolutely nowhere insofar as my hopes for doing YouTube as a main fulltime avenue. I haven’t posted a video in over a year and I just hit 50K subs. I was DREAMING of that number for years and now I just couldn’t care less because the machine of content creation stripped every ounce of joy I once had for doing this. I waffled on that feeling for a couple of years before I finally said, “piss on it; I’m done.” While I would hate to see no more Brit videos, I think your candor on the situation is well within reason to continue expressing publicly, and considering for yourself privately. You’ll get something sorted, man, even if it comes with a heap of difficult decisions that make you unhappy for awhile — at least that’s how it panned out for me where this stuff is concerned.

Lastly, try not to let any of the haters and irrational a-holes get to you for simply being a human and expressing human moments. There doesn’t have to be a secret, unhappy Brit hiding behind a goofy, laughing Brit. We’re all complex characters at the end of the day and I, for one, fully appreciate realness from people, so if you think it would be therapeutic or somehow beneficial to express some of these other facets of yourself, your life, your YouTube journey, etc., then I say go for it. =)

Forgetting to upkeep your base is one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had in Rust. At least with this you weren’t fighting with other people the entire time and you learned and gained a lot of knowledge about the server if you wanted to do another wipe there which I’m sure would speed up your progression a lot. I’m 39 now and I know how it can be with finding time to play sometimes and dealing with toxic people. Even finding good people to play with has been a big challenge for me since my past teammates have quit playing. I’m not a streamer or anything, just a chill guy, but if you ever want someone to play with you I’d be happy to help you out. Don’t let things stress you out too much brother, keep up the good work and take care!

Ive played about 30 hrs on that server and never knew you could /outpost without a vip

I’m maybe not the best judge, but maybe the run time is putting viewers off.
Could you not break a video like this into 3 X ~35min vids and release 3 days consecutive, I know it needs a bit more work for pacing.

Edit: sorry for not mentioning the normal crates float when they land in the water. she does drop a ton of loot. I misspoke the bat crate will only sink with the wreckage if she lands over water, also that m2 I dropped was loaded I always carry a couple full w/ holo/laser/boost.

Not fully done watching but in a lot of pve servers. If you don’t have a skin. The system will auto place random skins on your doors and boxes. And it’ll switch through them on occasion if it’s set up that way. It’s kind of fun to see the other skins. Since some new pvers don’t know about /skinbox. Love the video man. Enjoy.

I think you would benefit tremendously from taking your other channel a lot more seriously. Keep this main channel to rust related videos, but on your other channel do like survival games and stuff. With the rust content you do I’m sure your audience would be all for watching survival games. You should lookup the channel fooster, I think you’d benefit making your second channel for videos like he does

I would love the chance to play some pve with you one day Brit. I have two girls, so playing for hours is fun, but as a single dad its tough to get on especially if I get a notification that I’m being raided so pvp is kind of hard to focus on when I’m wanting to be in the real world with my kids.

Take a break from rust, the second wind after will help slug things out.
