Charging battery to battery and then trying to put them on turrets never works :D.
So no, making a base that has 5 x100 power batterys connected will never work due to drain (and even if you try to use large and medium after).
The only reason to charge them is to use them somewhere else (like for making a raid base with turret, if you dont want to waste fuel) A medium battery lasts times longer compared to generator.
I personaly use E. Branch to get the extra power in a seperate battery so the power generated is not wasted.
Then once they are full (they charge long time), you pick them up in a hammer and throw them into a box for later use)
Most bases are fine with medium ones and medium fails less when using cheap solar pannels. (i always use 4 at minimum)
Its just enogh to have 2 turrets, some lights and few pumps for plants running.
