Tbh they should get rid of the aimcone and aimpunch – it is terrible. As a “beamer” myself, I even agree the AK and other guns should be easier recoil – but the new recoil is trash in my opinion. I also don’t like the idea of having a monument just to be able to get a dog. They have enough “RP monuments” for that. We need actual content that is in the actual wild – i.e. taming a wolf yourself – and base-related stuff like new traps.

What are the opinions on the dog stuff? I think that might make solo journeys easier but also adds a very strange mechanic to the game. For example if a group raids your base and you have dogs, how will they respond to the attackers?

I think the updates are pretty good from what I see. I do think they should nerf the AK recoil a little more as it was at first too hard for new players and now it is too easy. A good balance of needing a little skill to use it would be nice.

Jackhammers didn’t matter if they hit the spot or not anyways, right? Also is, it still faster to tap the mouse instead of holding it and by doing so it also reduces the dammage the durability takes also. I think this is because the jackhammer hits the node more times than it can mine if you hold the mouse down.

LMGs should not be able to snipe players, they are made for suppressing and more to the medium range combat, take the Scope off, whats the point of having bolt actions when u have this? the recoil wont change anything in the M2, players just gonna pull it down faster…

would be cool if the dogs could be used as guard dogs at your base and maybe follow you on roams to alert you when a player/animal is near by growling or looking the direction of the threat.

Man this game just got far too competitive

All vanilla servers should be able to allow migrating from one to another just by travelling with a boat or flying, maps should be bigger, resources limited and not respawnable, and allowing to grow in-game economies based on the resources exchanged. That could allow cities to grow, and form some kind of tribal society among players. On sight killers could be persued by a seudo police, some other could build hotels, shops and safe zones based on their own rules… this game could be awsome with real persistance and eliminating the wipes. Just imagine!

Cant wait for facepunch to finally implement a working anti cheat that prevents Chinese spidermans to climb up my 5 floors tall base and duaqtruple headshot when i come back from cargo

I won’t be playing this game again until they stop wiping servers. It’s like a lot of work to build something just to be “raided” by the servers every couple weeks.

Recoil update is aweful, and I never touched a script. I’ve always been killed in the back before I can react, and this hasn’t changed at all. What changed is that long range fights are now impossible, or a hit gamble at best. And I never spray anymore unless next to them, and even then it still misses because they approached bullet spread entirely wrong, made it an aim cone instead of real bullet spread like competitive shooters.

Need a damage/armor rework. With the new recoil, every fight is over in the first spray now, the only way to keep fights longer and more enjoyable like before would be to find a way to balance the weapons to keep the player alive longer while keeping the guns still deadly enough that none of them turn into peashooters, which would probably mean the best way to deal with that is through an armor change.

New recoil is fun, it reminds me of that time just after legacy. I enjoyed Rust a lot back then and I was outspoken against recoil patterns. I still am after 2,500 hours of playing.

I like the HMLMG, though on higher gather rate servers it will be a mess because it’s so cheap to make. I don’t really like the new recoil system, I think that at least the AR should be harder to control. And I quite dislike the new sounds, I hope for the new sounds that will replace these placeholders are at least as good as the old ones. I know that the new ones are more realistic, but come on, Rust isn’t that realistic. And the old sounds just have so much more oomph, if you get me.

I’m not having fun now in pvp. Recoil, sound everything is bad.

They also need a “Fake server” alert for when you end up on a completely different server than you actually join. This is so stupid…just yesterday joined a 150/200 server which was wiped 6 hours ago, only to end up on a 9/200 server 7 days old…took me a while to realise why I don’t see anyone with supposedly “150 online”…

Hope we can tame more animals that just a dog! I want to have a farm and open a meat shop!

honestly, they need to do more balancing, like making it harder to go farm oil within the first 2 hours of a wipe, had people already flying around in minicopters shooting at people with M39s when a good 75% of players on the server hadnt gotten out of the crab bucket yet

Think they need to work on Launch Site the most. Completely Remove the Crates from up top or Put a Dome on top so its attached to card key. Instead of having Zergs scramble to get a Mini and trick the way up to the top without Sam Rockets going off. Or place a Dozen or More Heavy Scientists up on top. So you have to be at least Geared up pretty well to get to top.
But, I think just Put a Dome over the Top so need to have a Card Key to enter Top of Launch and get the Crates from there is better idea.

The PvP mixup is fun. The update no longer being a “first” Thursday and having devolved into Update and then more update every few days is annoying. FP needs to get back to single chunk a month.

All this doubling down on features, but not focusing on what people actually want. MORE performance. The gameooks like textures fro. 2015, but runs worse than most modern titles.
Us with 6800xt/3080 would love 144fps instead of 110 with bad frame times in 1440p without turning settings down or reverting to dlss or RSR. Also for the live of God add fsr 2.0 to the game for those who will openly accept lower settings

To be honest, this rushed and unasked for change is saddening. I had high hopes but it made the game unplayable. I’m no beamer, never was, but this is so horrible. I can tell the sounds are going to be the next HDRP rocks. Left broken for years and all community complaints ignored. I’m just going to find another game. It was a good 6 years.
