Been watchin for way too long, when rust wasn’t mainstream, when rust wasn’t even in the stream. Time when youtubers like Ramsey were poppin. Its good to see some older rust guys popping off, I just clicked on this video after not tuning in for a year or two and seeing that almost 2 million subs and nearly 1.5 million views on this put a smile on my face.

I would love to see someone build a base with shallow water to the shoreline and deeper water to the back of the base where you could still place walls and gates and park your tug inside the perimeter fence when not using it. It looks like these smaller boats are a great compliment to the large tug when out doing missions.

You know what would be really freaking cool? If they used the tugboat mechanics to make sailboats, like repaired/homebuilt sailing yachts or something. Something that fits the theme of Rust players building whatever they can from scrap. Have the same basebuilding mechanics as the tugboats, but have to keep your sails repaired instead of burning fuel. Would add to the whole pirate aesthetic they’re aiming for with these tugboats.

Question..has anyone tried placing shotgun traps on the tugboat? I know auto turrets didn’t work when I seen jade monkey or blazed or someone try, but since rugs attach, will shotty traps? Probably not since they could trigger in a safe zone which would make the mechanics awkward, but damn, that maze of lockers with shotgun traps peaking gaps between the lockers along the way would be op

Btw I have made basically a wide gap for tug boats u can put 2 lockers a bit away from each other and make a small gap to shoot out of its op for defending raids

i simply cannot comprehend why you all did not relocate the base to a safer location, especially after realizing the strength of your rivals. Additionally, I am perplexed as to why Spoons chose to leave the boat vulnerable in a dangerous area despite being aware of the numerous enemies roaming around, waiting for an opportunity to strike. It would have been more prudent to relocate the boat to a secure location before respawn it to the base. The outcome has not only resulted in the loss of the base but also the boat, along with its valuable arsenal and materials. 😅

You guys know that you can put a vending machine on the build area under, right? Instead of a door, you put a vm. You have a bed and storage boxes both inside and outside. Bring the boat as far out to sea as far away as the oil rigs are and the drones in outpost should be able to reach it. TB submerges often but I think if it’s not too far from shore, you should be able to respawn on the outer bed (don’t ‘wake’ until the TB has fully risen.)

The problem with this type of base design where you have the lockers and stuff is they can go and clear the tc in the top part by blowing the door and then take off the workbenches… its a nice idea but if they use their brain then you can’t do much…

Tugboats are cool, but also way too frail against griefers, it’s fine that raiding them is only one door, but they should be able to tank a lot more before sinking to prevent people sinking them just to screw with others!

It seems like tugboats are a massive target due to how useful they are, as well as how easy they are to raid on top of that. What ends up happening is you get raided by people combing the oceans for tugboats and you don’t even know what side of the map they live on because of the nature of a moving base. It’s certainly a much different dynamic than having a static compound base.
Next time make your ship complete and than sink it. Your loot stays inside XD. No one will ever find it at the bottum of the ocean😅
I think they should try to implement the option to tow or tug a small boat or a rhib. Make it something like an accessory that you have to craft with that uses rope to keep those boats with the mothership

I can think of so many features they could add to the tug boat. Upgrades so that maybe you can make a code lockable hatch leading to the cabin from inside. Maybe make it possible to “anchor” the boat so that it becomes like a mini harbor? Like make it so that it can have boats stored on the side of it, and when you anchor, you can then drop boats down into the water to drive to places. If you can place solar panels on it, does that not also mean you can place turrets to ward off invaders? So many things you can think of.

I just realized, with no upkeep, High Qual doors would be the actual best thing for that boat. They have the most durability, and since you can ONLY place down 4 doors, high qual doors are so very possible. About 16 minutes in.

It’s funny how the inclusion of the Tugboat basically created ship battles between groups of players. Imagine if they included weaponized ship or other vehicles to Rust. It would absolute chaos on every server you’d play on. Probably best not to turn Rust into GTA Online. The toxicity was pretty bad on that game from all the explosives.
There should be a feature where you can farm parts to hook a small boat and tow it with the tug.

And when they found your tugboat, they really went full bully mode and thought they’d crushed you completely. Only for you to show up in their main in record time and turn it into a tomb for the ultimate revenge.
They didn’t know who they were messing with when they shot at you out on the ice. But boy do they know now.

Based off your inspiration, I feel like keeping your tug boat on the border is best. Even when going to run monuments. Literally follow the border to the closest area to monument and regular boat to do runs. You can also do a minibase in the ocean for loot because submarines so easily kill tugs. On a fresh wipe tho just Go Hard on the tug researching BPs

Imagine putting several auto turrets on teh fucking boat… Seems like the most fun thing that you could do with the boat
Idea water only wipe, but you go on a server with a massive pop and you have like a 5 or 6 man team. Hopefully smoil and large are near each other as the goal is to not let anyone do either and to attract raiders. In this wipe you are aloud on land, but you can’t farm or build (except raid bases). So only roaming and raiding. Personally the water only wipes have been my favorite and I think this would be the ultimate wipe.

reason why the boat resurface like a submarine at minute 12 is important… everything you have that is outside the grid is stored under level 0 when you’re out of visual range, to avoid loading memory too much… same for the christmas and easter tunnels, remember… they are outside the grid, under sea level.
So the resurface is more like a easter-egg than a feature.

Not saying they are/were cheating, but whenever I’ve run into people doing the multiple-players-with-the-same-name thing, it’s always been because one/multiple of them are cheating and using the confusion of ‘which one was cheating’ to help obfuscate the reports and keep them unbanned longer by having the non-cheaters eating some of the reports for their buddy.
Securing the base in the cave would have left them without their c4 and they couldn’t have broken down the tug enough before you realised where they went

But the airlock and the interior planning of the boat really showed to me your experience in the game. To take something new and see the weak points and how to combat that, it’s just so satisfying to see someone use their brain. Amazing raid defense and the luck with choosing the right people in the end was great. Everything went so smooth and it was an satisfying wipe.

They would always team up zerg as 14 players deep and talk mad shit on their shops lol. Me and the boy’s completely wiped out all 4 bases they had in some ridiculous 6 layered stone walls like a crazy prison. Best feeling i the world is wiping out the most toxic and annoying player’s on a server👌👌👌
the only way lama could have gotten down their is through the fps glitch by changing ur fps to 1 and jumping down u fall slow and then u change ur fps back. so thats how i think.

You know what would be sick for the next update? Deployable turrets that are meant to be manned and have the same stats as the M2. Maybe less damage but high magazine capacity, rate of fire, and low recoil. Could put a few on tugboats, regular bases, and maybe even a hotspot to place a single one on a rhib, maybe one on a flatbed module for land vehicles, and maybe even a hotspot for scrap helis. Would be sick.

unless they have changed something, you cant even get into a tug you sink like that unless you have someone shove you through the door block and then pass loot through. I have seen it done, and I think they need to change several things about how the boats work and how fast they can be sunk with torpedoes, but it still does not seem like it is really worth it to sink one instead of raiding in on the surface unless you are just trying to mess with the owners.

I am not sure what judgement I want to assume, but it seems a bit suss that not only do you have multiple players all using the same name, but they go from getting wiped to being absolute lasers in seconds. I hate accusing people of things, but it looks a lot like they could not only be stream sniping to know when and where to keep showing up, but also toggling cheats while trying to hide which one it might be that is doing the cheating by using the same names. It would make it harder for an admin to know which to spectate in order to get the evidence. I would think the whole team would just get banned in that case, but then who gets a cheating ban and who gets association? Like I said it all just looks extremely suss.
