well I made this exact same thing. It has a huge flaw. When the hbf sensor is destroyed, it triggers the timer and garage door opens for the few seconds BUT then closes permanently. While the transmitter is sending signal continuously. Thanks for the detailed video but you didnt test the mechanic fully

Interesting idea however the video could be replaced with a circuit diagram. It would be nice if you explained what you’re doing so I could understand why.

The problem with this its just too much of a hassle for any player to set this up consider the large pop on server they should never put a limit on the turrets they already considering the power limit. Back in the day turrets didn’t use power .it’s just another way to buff off-line raiding plus with the limit your setup if people see the base the way is set up i would just simple make a raid base close to place turrets to your base place x amount of turrets to disable yours sent power is off 40m radius is bit over kill for it .

this abomination of an update makes it so that you cannot experiment with unique bases, you will be forced to have meta bases designed around bunkers and complex turrets setups and locations. you are now forced to be at an even bigger disadvantage against larger groups than before unless you want to spend hours modifying base designs to be able to host such pods and circuits. this update does nothing to change the fact that it takes 3 hours to solo farm enough to raid a base that took 24 hours of farming to build.

i fucking love the rust player base. what i hate tho is that this was their (devs) solution to the their turret problem. so for those who don’t know they tried to stop the ramp turret meta by making it that you could shoot through ramps but this backfired when they also made one way launcher windows so they had to back track and then they came up with this retardation and nerfed turrets…..👍 good job facepunch
Wouldn’t it be much easier to have Turrets activate other Turrets if they get destroyed? This could be achieved by passing the energy from a turret in the compound then supplying a turret inside the base. But since only, for example, 2 energy are passed through, to the turret inside, the turret in the base only activates when the one in the compund has been destroyed?
I would use double armored instead of garage doors. Garage doors very slow to open, and any good eco-raider can exploit how slow they function.
Also, certain deployable(s) will not block the LOS of the HBHF. Many ways to hide them. Good video though!
This is cool, but the HBHF range is only 3.5 squares and requires line of sight, so after one person falls for it, they can just blow the HBHF sensor/blow the turrets without them ever turning on again. Thanks for putting in the work and giving us another option, though. Video is well done and easy to follow!
What is the name of the base design, if I may ask?
The turret nerf is ridiculous. I dont get all the complaints because any experienced raider duo can get past any number of base defenses with enough rockets . Turrets only slows them down to give the base owner a shot at getting online in time. If nerfing turrets is the plan then they should nerf explosives, its only fair. Why should a player be able to hump around unlimited explosives, there should be a weight limit. Raiders can now build a raid base with turrets close enough to disable defending base turrets….what a joke.

could you setup turret pods that open when a turret is broken and replace it? you could use the low ammo output with bolty turrets for a continues signal until the turret is broken but I’m not sure if there’s a better way to do it
my solution: on/off switches
break up my turrets into 3 groups of 6 each
6 exterior, 6 on top and 6 interior
when they come raiding on goes exterior
if they break through interior takes over etc
as far as offline raiding goes
brazilians are banned problem solved

So toolcubards should cost 100 scrap per 24 hours! And every turret ADDS 10 scrap a day to TC cost!!!!!
You don’t need the last branch, just use the door controller passthrough. The doors move too slow before turrets are on. I used this setup last wipe. Also don’t put branches in the pods. 1 molly and the system is disabled. Better off with 3 turrets, power to controller, passthrough to splitter. Splitter takes 2 mollies if you really need to keep in pod.

Why do you need to place the grid over and over so many times tho? pretty sure you can simplify it with 12 turrets per grid like that activating
