I wonder if metal detectors will be able to detect small stashes

Mini needs a flood light attached for flying at night. Maybe have it as an attachment which would be very interesting.

I can see trap bases and clans camping the ferry terminal for entire wipes, even if they make it so that more spawn they will be a hot spot for any amount of grubs, clans, cheaters.

and tbh, cheaters are becoming more bold due to the fact that clans are always going to have at least one cheater and whole clans of cheaters have not been banned for years. So Solos/duos/trios will now be wiped off the map.

But they still haven’t fixed horses not being able to walk off a 1 foot tall cliff without getting stuck. Or getting stuck on a fallen tree.

I miss when Rust was simple and I could play without dogshit performance and loading times of approximately 15 calendar years. I shouldn’t have to keep upgrading my PC just keep up with constant updates of a game I bought a decade ago. These days I don’t even bother with Rust anymore and just watch Spoonkid videos.

The working of EAC have been public for a while thanks to community data miners/game cheat developers and I can say with confidence that EAC will always be flawed. This is because EAC doesn’t look for the code of known cheats, but the names of said things. This is why if you change the binary of Cheat Engine (A very old and well know game cheat software) to have no mentions of it’s name in the code, you can change the memory of any EAC game with out it being tripped. The reason why this is like this is because it’s not about the anti cheat, it’s about the money. And Epic Games is no stranger to profit over quality.

Most people didnt realize this but after the most recent update. Anyone who has ever been game banned was able to play rust again for a few minutes bfore they fixed the glitch. im curious as to what caused this to happen.

LISTEN WHAT IF the ferry terminal allowed players after 1 week on the server after hiting 20 k scrap to buy a tiicket with a full inventory each to a totally new fresh wiped map to build a base on , and that map would be infercted with zombie and weird volcano biom with more hard ai to fight and more ressources to fight the other advanced group that came from the same server

With nexxus it’ll be just like ark in terms of server warfare. For those who’s never played ark, just imagine hitting a base on a random server , taking all their stuff , and running back to your own server where your allied with everyone.

It opens up opportunity for server warfare , mega alliances , and of course the sneaky small groups/solos who hit licks and run back to a safe place with their loot

It’s either gonna ruin the game, or make it great. What that depends on is weather the mega clans protect their servers or let their server get wrecked with no loyalty to it.

The reason it doesn’t work on Ark is due to servers never wiping. With rust it could be great because no mega clan will become infinitely massive like they do in ark

Shelters are fine but I agree with limiting them to 1 or 2 per player. As someone who only really plays solo they have been invaluable to getting a start on big servers with groups.

I would love to see more “primitive” weapons from tier 1-3. EG shields, different arrow types (explosive arrows anybody?), compound bow reworked to have slots for suitable attachments (laser sight, holo sight etc), a T3 knife/other melee weapon (rewards stealthy high-risk gameplay) etc.

I’d really hate to see them take a survival game and only add more “advanced” weaponry in the higher stages. Who cares if it’s not meta, everybody will likely run around with the same kit anyway (full metal m249/ak/mp5 + bolt/L96), why not just add more things for the fun of it? They’ve added tug boats and attack choppers, surely they can add new arrows ffs

The bicycle sounds like a good one! , like it can be craftable with pipes and Ropes , then have maybe 2 attachments which will be the tires! , first will be the first tier tires >Smooth Tires< which only allow fast speed on the Trails and Roads!, and if driven on any other terrain will drain durability . with the exception of the second Tier attachments >Off Road Tires< will grant that speed on any other terrain with good durability.

Rust was once, PERFECT. As in a game…. Like Chess. You don’t need to add features or abilities to Chess, to make it better.

Unfortunately most children these days have no imagination and often just want reward without work…So the devs kept trying to appease them and added elite crates to military tunnels, chinook crate, oil rigs etc…..and instantly killed the amazing progression that was one of the things that made Rust so brilliant and rewarding….
I can’t say that I don’t *_love_* some of the changes (horses for example) but adding game-changing stuff, non-stop, at a faster and faster rate is going to end in a pretty convoluted mess that isn’t Rust anymore… Rust will be just like GTA…. Meh…. I mean it will always still be an amazing game… i just don’t see why it needs to be like GTA… They could have just made the *_core_* survival game better and better.

better mobility is such a great idea. simple add thatll help this is spawn in vehicles that already have parts included. more people including new players will be more inclined to save n add that extra piece to car rather than saving up 5 rusty car parts in a storage. the walking simulator a lot of people experience is still an issue

the clan system needs to also include an ally system, allies get the dot above head but no seeing online status or map locations just the dot to avoid friendly fire

Cargo docking on harbour sounds good on paper but just benefits big groups and puts smaller groups at an disadvantage yet again. Big groups can either hold any angle people could board from the harbour, which would make no differnce to water, but smaller groups cant handle a bigger group rushing them on land

Nexus will probably actually see the creation of Guilds and not the expansions of clans. Clans survive in a vacuum, where no one has enough friends to either evade or beat them, but with the possibility of literally hundreds of thousands of players, you get enough people from one server fully geared and you can tear down anyone. Guilds will survive, because it doesn’t matter where you start, you’ll have a chance to find a guild member and have someone who could be a good ally. That way, you and your group stay together and yet still have friends in other islands that could trade with you. Clans won’t survive, they are based on limited server sizes and not enough like minded people already on the server.

If they are planning to add new guns to the game, I’d imagine (and be happy) to see a lever-action rifle. As they aren’t complex internally, perhaps they could be in Tier 2, as there is a large gap (in my opinion) between SAR and, for example, the Python. I think the best place for a lever-action rifle would be after the pump shotgun, as they work roughly the same.

If by “more radical” measures, I hope they mean no connecting through VPN’s at all. I know it will affect some people who have to use one, but that is a small portion compared to completely eradicating cheating for the whole game. It’s just too easy for a cheater to be banned, only to buy a quick smurf account and be back online within 5mins for only 5 dollars through sites like eldorado. They can only do this thanks to a VPN’s anonymity. A lot of community/modded servers don’t allow them, and guess what… Virtually no cheaters! It only takes 1 ban for their IP to be logged permanently.

I thinking adding more caves would be a much better idea. But they should make them similar like train connected. This would create more underground pvp. (NO MAP THO)

Also….caves should be more radiactive the more in middle of map you get, to prevent nakeds camping with bare minimum items they can afford to lose.
And as a bonus, more nodes will spawn inside (and this make camper towers in snow obsolete)

Last change i would to is delete green, red and blue cards and instead add a puzzles that makes people thinking what to do to open the new areas. Doing same crap over and over again is not fun and even anoying if you forget to bring one single item.
So something like skyrim lockpicking for doors, moving right color electric cables into a right slot, breaking windows to get inside (that make a lot of noise) or finding a simple valve (and you are unable to attack when you hold it).

When i started playing rust 10 years ago i really enjoyed the sense of community i saw. There would be shops and gambling houses and naked villages and roleplay garbage but now its all forced with npc shops and safe zones, they used to be made by the players but now theres no point so the way you play seems more limited. Bring back legacy 🙁

I wish the devs would learn from other industries – security through obscurity is not sufficient to tackling the cheating problem, all it does is frustrate actual players and makes it feel as though EAC has no teeth.

I feel like for the nexus system to not completely break a game there should be one server per cluster that you cannot bring items into. I like the idea of ascending to different servers though or even leaving it open to more community built maps.

Regarding developers quietly hotfixing bugs without putting them in patchnotes: KCmo2 had a video where he caught a developer or something and WITHIN THE DAY, it was fixed. They really are very quick with fixing bugs, even if they don’t announce it when they do.

The Nexus system could be very cool if done right.

The concept of having high-tier islands with hard ai and big loot could mean you have a main “living” island and then go on raids to the hard islands for loot.
hopefully they work on it enough to get it to a good standard and not do the same as missions and just have the basic concept.

if plane gets add it most likely gonna be faster to travel map so most likely a scout plane or when the finally add the ability to transfer servers it could be another means to do that.

For anti cheat, and cheating in general, can’t they just like, make people verify their identity and only allow one game account per living person. Sure they could use family members, but that will run out. I’m not an expert on this, so I’m not sure how good/bad the idea is, but I wouldn’t mind verifying who I am to play video games.

What I would really like to see is a revamp to how researching guns works. My pitch is to let players research commercial-grade weapons but the blueprints you get are the makeshift variant. I.e LR becomes the AK, L9 a bolty. (And the Mp5 becomes a custom because being able to craft an MP5 breaks even the internal logic of the game and it irks me). That would be more within the spirit of Rust’s setting, I feel.

Rust is a ruined game. Don’t purchase it, this comes from a 11k hour player.

Nexus system 101: hop on a dead server and get all the loot for free and then go to your main server and just wipe everyone

One thing I wish they would do. Have a set limit on how many people can have access to code locks. Basically set it so that only like 10 ppl can be authorized on a code lock. I just don’t see how large groups/clans are healthy for the game. It’s not like there’s some end game content that needs a ton of resources to defeat.

To be honest the nexus system has a lot of potential if fully developed.
They could have a wipeless rust if they made it so everyone can join the tier 1 island and the goal is to escape the island as the tier 1 island would only have grub tier items avaliable with each Island after requiring a better mode of transport to leave (kyak > boat > submarine > helicopter) but also better and better loot.
Then if you get a bag down on the higher tier server you can join it until the bag is gone and if you head back to a previous zone you are marked as hostile while you hold the higher tier contraband items.
They could have some really whacky secret islands too that you could have a chance to go to if you say have certain items in your inv by the edge of the map at a foggy midnight and a boat appears for you to follow or something

Dynamic weather is awesome. I would love to see more work on that with like storms and A the Radiationcloud that moves across the map. I could see them Putting sirens on all Of the telephone polls And when a dynamic weather event is getting ready to happen sirens go off. Imagine being away from your base and the sirens go off and irradiation fog comes rolling in

Metal detectors might be a horrible idea. Be a much easier way for those who use ESP to find items stashed away in the ground and just claim its the detector and not the ESP they are using.

Why don’t they just lock tier 2 and 3 until a little bit after wipe? That would allow small groups and other players a good chance to catch up to these people that get high tier guns too fast

pets are a good idea in games like Minecraft, where they’re emotionless, blocky things that make silly noises sometimes

pets in Rust are a bad idea if it’s an expressive animal you can grow to love in 4K, which can also be shot down easily after hours of growth

the bandit outpost only deals in dog tags

How do you get dog tags?

By killing players and looting their dog tags (add dog tag skins)

Make it so you can only buy guns from bandit

Bounty hunter board in Outpost: kill a certain amount of players get x mount of scrap bounty put on your head the more players you kill higher the bounty.

Kill streaks benefits for each outpost:

If you kill players without bounty you get bandit rep
If you kill players with bounty you get Outpost rep
(hopefully this will get more people talking in game and add more of an rp element)

Rep = discounts + better bounty/ faction rewards

example: the heli is locked behind rep and each faction has a different heli model

Maybe add a karma system so at some point you can either only use bandit or outpost (add some way to reset karma)

the nexus system will kill vanilla rust for good, if you can just transfer your loot around between wipes there is no progression system at all. big groups will constantly have infinite loot and small groups will constantly have nothing

I feel like the defenders should have the advantage on cargo and oil rig. Why should the clan that just sits in their base 24/7 and only comes out when they see someone on camera looting the monument or get the alert that someone called in the heavies get the advantage or have even an equal advantage when they just swoop in on minicopters kill the 2 players that actually did all the work looting the monument and killing all the NPCs.

After playing the updated Hapis I just wish that more servers had the unique design with that. The little islands and rivers going deep into the middle of the map is so cool
