i say the best tutorial for rust is joining those eu pop servers where you get domed every second. best way to see if your are mentally cut out for rust. the emotional abuse is nostalgic.

Best way to counter it would be to make a special mine that can be placed on train tracks… and when a train or car drivers over it they should become no longer driveable and half the loot should instantly despawn to punish horders

They just need to get rid of the underground network completely. Nobody uses it, nobody is going to use it. Just add spurs to monuments if you want the above ground network to be a transportation network. Maybe add some more to do with it, such as load at the excavator and take it to the railyard. Take empty cars to the junkyard and scrap them for scrap and metal.

The limited turrets comes directly from console it was a resource reason for the limit but it ended up having a really good effect on turret balance

used to be one of these 17 year olds playing 60 hour weeks lmao, good times but its so funny being a casual player playing monthly now. i used to complain about the role players and updates helping casual players. now i get it, theres a lot of people who CANT play that much. i enjoy my lil hour or 2 a day on a monthly server

how about random tornadoes and hurricanes that can level or submerge a players base? depending on where you build(coast) and the terrain your base could be underwater.

To make the tutorial realistic, the first action it should prompt the player is to finish the wounded guy with the rock and quick loot everything.

I agree turrets should be limited but leave that up to the server you play on. It’s way to easy to raid now ,especially if someone offlines you. Turrets slow raiders down till the owner can get back on to defend. They need to start making new updates for building. Like building bases under water. They already have water pumps, make it if you have a airlock and use a pump to empty the water. Now you should be able to make bases under water. Put down deployables. This way you can at least hide the base.They keep going in this direction it’s time to move on from rust.

Hope the new train update is an indication that the map generation may change soon. They really gotta make more interesting maps with more extreme mountains and canyons and rivers so you can actually have a different play experience depending on where you live

If water-catchers fill faster while raining, cars should also handle worse. Solar panels should also be less effective during fog and rain, and wind power should be more effective and helicopters should be harder to control during storms. I’m all for a weather system provided it’s actually a *system*.

I love the weather. In general this months update was great

seeing that sparking effect on the turrets got me thinking about a new rough concept: tasers!
either they could fire over a short range and require a windup like the eoka as the taser builds up a charge, or they could be a melee weapon again with a charge time between uses. they could be more effective on people in metal armour or players who are wet and would attack stamina rather than health; if the player falls to 0 stamina as a result they are knocked into the recovery state for a few seconds but otherwise get up after a few seconds.
Additionally, hitting a turret or electrical device could temporarily disable it. perhaps hitting a device that is not powered would temporarily turn it on for a few seconds.

Lots of potential utility or shenanigans!

People complaining about turrets is hilarious. Well welcome to the weekly wipe club. Sorry your bases won’t stand for a month now. No insane loot rooms, you all log out don’t expect your base to remain. No more gear fear because it’s not lasting anyways.

Turret nerf only hurts smaller Groups AND gives even more incentive to offline bases. Auto turetts is by far the biggest defense while you are offline and Will often deter raiders If my neighbours have none and are an easier target. But having less Turrets, now raiders Will expect 12 and If its a big base, its highly limited where they Will go. My standard setup is 24 turrets. 8 in compound, 4 roof, 4 shooting floor, 4 in core and 4 in Shell

Tutorial island should have been set in outpost before it was repopulated. like you crash there and its just a aboundaned town where you do all the quests essentially putting it up to the point where it is in game.

Finally a good base skin

all the paint and glue fumes in the new farcepunch HQ must be affecting their cognitive ability. These updates are a massive L for the game.
